Israel launched airstrikes into Iran on Thursday evening. The Israeli defence minister said in a statement that they are “preemptive strikes.” More than 200 Israeli planes were involved in the initial attack, so it was a major event. Iran has threatened to retaliate in a significant way if Israel attacks it. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Gen. Hossein Salami, is confirmed dead after Israel strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities. Iranian state television also confirmed that the deputy commander of Iran’s armed forces, Gen. Gholamali Rashid and nuclear scientist Fereydoun were killed.
