WHY EVOLUTION CAN’T WORK

The giant tortoise, the bowhead whale, and the Greenland shark are three of the longest-lived vertebrates. As we will see, the facts about them make the evolutionary narrative even harder for materialists to justify.

The oldest living tortoise in the world, called Jonathan, is believed to have hatched from an egg in 1832, though that is only an estimate. That makes him about 193 years old (in 2025), and he is thought to be the oldest living land animal.

What does such longevity mean for belief in the evolution narrative? If animals are able to sow their genetic information into the gene pool over hundreds of years, with lengthened generations, then it would only increase the difficulty for evolution to occur. Famous evolutionary biologist J.B.S. Haldane (1892–1964) pointed out that larger, slow-breeding vertebrates, such as cattle, cannot hope to pay the cost of neo-Darwinian evolution through random mutations and natural selection.

The cost (i.e., of substituting a gene) may be stated as follows. Consider a breeding population in which a supposedly beneficial mutation arises. For that mutated gene to spread to become dominant in the population, a large number of individuals without that mutation must first die (in that and succeeding generations) without leaving offspring. Haldane’s ‘working number’ for these deaths was 30 times the population size.

Four factors that can lower the number of such deaths are higher selection pressures, higher mutation rates, faster population turnover, and smaller populations. Haldane cited a theoretical low of around 10–20 times the population size. But he said it could be higher than the 30 he used in his calculations, in rare circumstances, even as high as 100. Nonetheless, 30 is generally taken as a reasonable estimate for most situations.

This theoretical cost is grossly unrealistic; for a population of only 1,000 animals, it would mean 30,000 nonreproductive deaths must first happen over time. This is an unacceptable cost for the species to bear. And for larger populations, the number of such deaths would be higher still. This long-recognized problem is known as Haldane’s Dilemma. And there is no solution in sight.

There is also another issue to consider, called Peto’s Paradox. Large vertebrates have many more cells than small animals, which suggests a higher risk of mutations in body cells (called somatic mutations, which are not inherited). Also, the longer a creature lives, the higher the chance of the DNA in an individual cell mutating. Such mutations can lead to cancer and early death. So, the larger, longer-lived vertebrates should have a greater risk of cancer.

But the evidence is the reverse; it would seem they actually have a lower risk of cancer, perhaps due to one or more effective DNA repair mechanisms. The presence of cell repair mechanisms is actually evidence of design, not evolution. Slow-breeding animals such as the bowhead whale are evidently not dying young through disease, further reinforcing the dilemma that Haldane highlighted.

Another problem is why natural selection (i.e., differential reproduction) over millions of hypothetical years would ever cause such longevity to evolve. There is no reproductive advantage, as evolution requires, for a mutation that keeps a creature alive long after it has stopped reproducing.

WHY PENNY WONG AND ANTHONY ALBANESE GOT IRAN-ISRAEL CONFLICT SO WRONG

It is almost impossible to grasp the true nature of the Iran-Israel conflict if you do not understand religion.

While analysts pontificate about geopolitics, military strategy, and nuclear ambitions, the conflict is not really about any of those things.

At the heart of what’s going on lies a deeply religious and ideological struggle – particularly from the Iranian side.

It’s important to understand that the Islamic Republic of Iran is not merely a nation-state. It is a theocratic regime founded on the belief that politics must serve a divine mission.

Return of the Mahdi and Annihilation of Israel

Central to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s mission is the Shia concept of wilayat al-faqih – clerical rule until the return of the Mahdi, also known as the twelfth Imam.

Iranian leaders believe that global injustice, including the existence of Israel, delays the Mahdi’s return.

When you understand that, you understand how the Iranians view Israel. Israel is not just a political enemy – it is a theological offence.

The Jewish state’s presence in what Iran considers Islamic lands is viewed as a religious desecration that must be dealt with before the Mahdi can be revealed.

If you’re thinking this makes Penny Wong’s calls for “dialogue” rather childish, you’d be spot on.

Negotiation is exceptionally difficult, bordering on impossible, since the conflict is not merely over borders, but over prophecy, purity, and divine destiny.

If you are ignorant, wilfully or otherwise, of the religious dimension to this conflict, then it is easy to misread Iran’s motivations as irrational or purely strategic.

But within its own religious worldview, Iran’s posture toward Israel is not just logical – it is sacred.

Without understanding that, any diplomatic approach is hopelessly naive.

In fact, without understanding religion, it is almost impossible to understand messages the Iranian and Israeli leadership are sending to each other.

Benjamin Netanyahu Refers to Cyrus the Great

Let’s start with the Israeli PM’s reference yesterday to the Persian King Cyrus the Great.

Benjamin Netanyahu made a speech broadcast to the Iranian population in which he said…

“Cyrus freed the Jews, and today the Jewish state might free the Persians. Not in the sense that we’re doing it for them. In the end, they have to rise up themselves, but we are creating the conditions. And that’s why it could be consequential.”

King Cyrus is renowned for liberating the Jews from Babylonian captivity in 539 BC.

Unlike previous rulers, Cyrus allowed conquered peoples to return to their homelands and practice their religions freely. He issued a decree permitting the Jews to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple.

This act earned him lasting praise in Jewish tradition; he is even referred to as the “anointed one” in the book of Isaiah.

The Lord says this to Cyrus, his anointed,
whose right hand I have grasped
to subdue nations before him
and disarm kings… (Isaiah 45:1)

So in June 2025, Israel’s PM is reminding Iranians of what one of their great leaders did more than 2500 years ago, and saying he is now returning the favour.

Netanyahu sees himself as a historic figure, repaying the kindness of a Persian lionised in the Bible.

He will precipitate the liberation of Iranians held in captivity by the Ayatollah, even as Cyrus precipitated the liberation of Jews held in captivity by the Babylonians.

Meanwhile, the Ayatollah also released a statement yesterday.

On Twitter, he wrote, “the battle begins” and posted a picture showing a man walking into a fortress as streaks of fire light the sky.

The caption read: “All returns to Kybhar”

The statement is a reference to the first imam of Shia Islam who lived 600 years after Christ.

Ali ibn Abi Talib, a cousin and son-in-law of Muhammad (work that one out) was supposedly miraculously healed of blindness so that he could fight the Jews in hand-to-hand combat.

He killed Jews and made those who remained subject to heavy taxes.

The Ayatollah claims to be the modern day equivalent.

The contrast, then, between Netanyahu and the Ayatollah is stark. One claims to be the modern day liberator. The other boasts of being a modern day killer and oppressor. Both use religious history to illustrate their intentions.

I say again, if you’re unfamiliar with religion, you’ll miss so much of what is really going on in this conflict.

And that, of course, explains the Albanese Government’s position.

CATASTROPHIC PLATE TECTONICS AND THE WORLDWIDE FLOOD OF NOAH’S DAY

Catastrophic Plate Tectonics (CPT) proposes that the single pre-Flood continent broke up quickly and explosively (i.e., catastrophically). Originally, the plates moved apart at a speed of metres per second—billions of times faster than today. Many (not all) creationist geologists think CPT is an excellent model to explain the Flood. Note: ‘model’ here means an assumed explanation of how the Flood occurred. It is consistent with the Bible but not a direct teaching of the Bible. But what could cause such fast plate movement?

TOP ROCK BREAKS THROUGH

God created one single continent. At the edges, there was likely some cold rock, denser than the asthenosphere below it. This instability would be ready to sink through any weakness.

But why would God create such an unstable situation? God knows the future. Man would become so wicked about 1,600 years after creation that God would need to start over. So maybe God created a world that would Flood at that time. But what would cause the top part to break through? A clue comes from blacksmiths working with iron and steel. They heat the material red-hot to make it much softer and easier to bend.

Many minerals are the same. They become much weaker when hot and also under pressure—sometimes as much as billions of times weaker.

Eventually, the pressure and heat would weaken the bottom part enough for the top to break through. As rock sank, it would make more heat by friction and cause more stress. The underlying rocks would soften even more. This softening allows even quicker sinking and even more heating and stress, thus even more softening. The rocks would eventually reach speeds of several km/hour, called runaway subduction.

CONVEYOR BELT

As the rock layer sank, it would pull the rest of the plate along, like a giant conveyor belt. The continent would tear apart at the other end, forming the Mid-Ocean Ridges (the world’s longest mountain ranges). Magma would pour up through the tears, evaporating vast amounts of water. This would produce a long chain of powerful steam jets. Remember Genesis teaching of huge ocean fountains erupting? (See Bible verse).

“In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.” Genesis 7:11

The steam would eventually cool enough to condense in the air. It would then fall back as a huge global downpour, just as the Bible vividly describes. No ordinary rainstorm lasts 40 days and 40 nights (Genesis 7:12)! Also, the plate movements would push water onto the land. Eventually, all the land would be flooded.

EVIDENCE

CPT explains many things that don’t make sense under the usual ‘slow-and-gradual’ theory. The most important is the subducted plates themselves—plates underneath another plate. If plates had always moved slowly, they couldn’t have forced their way through. Rather, they would have stopped or blended in. But some have pushed down over 700 km.

Also, consider what happens if a hot object is in contact with a cold object. Heat moves from the hot thing to the cold thing until both have the same temperature. Now consider the cool subducted plate inside a much hotter asthenosphere. If the plate had pushed in slowly, over 100 million years, it should have warmed to the asthenosphere’s temperature. Instead, the plate is often thousands of degrees cooler. This coolness makes sense if it was pushed in quickly, only about 4,500 years ago.

A CATACLYSMIC EVENT IN HISTORY

The above verse provides the timing of the Flood in real history. It is so important that God tells us the very day in Noah’s life the Flood began. It also tells us how. First, huge fountains in the “great deep” (the oceans) erupted. Next, torrential rainfall. The “windows of heaven opened” is the Hebrew way of saying, “It rained cats and dogs.” CPT is a possible model consistent with the Bible’s true history. The Flood began in the oceans, then came the downpour.

GOD USES PERSECUTION TO GROW THE CHURCH IN UKRAINE

As war continues to devastate Ukraine, a mighty spiritual revival is unfolding amid the ruins, according to Ukrainian evangelist David Karcha, who told a gathering of European church leaders that the Gospel becomes unstoppable in a time of war. Speaking at the European Congress on Evangelism in Berlin, Germany, on May 29, Karcha described how churches across Ukraine have become beacons of hope, drawing thousands to Christ even as the country endures deep physical and emotional suffering. His address came just a day after Franklin Graham met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Berlin to pray for peace, underscoring the Congress’s message of gospel resilience in the face of crisis. “In a time of peace, the Gospel is powerful. But in a time of war, it is unstoppable,” said Karcha in his opening remarks in which he brought greetings from the Evangelical wider Church in Ukraine to the Berlin Congress delegates.

After Russia’s invasion in February 2022, Karcha said Ukrainian Evangelicals faced a critical choice: to fracture and flee, or to remain and share in the suffering of their fellow countrymen. This was “not because we had a plan, not because we felt ready, but because we saw that even the smallest act done in faith becomes a part of something much greater.” “Hope as a reality is something searched for as part of human existence seeking “something greater, something essential,” Karcha pondered. For the Church in Ukraine, this journey of hope, made within the light of the living Lord Jesus, has meant taking small steps as a unified community moving together. By doing so, “it becomes a movement no war can stop.” Karcha wanted to set the record straight about religious persecution, often dominating news about Christian Ukrainians. He pointed out that the main headline story in Ukraine is about masses of people turning to Christ. The church minister said that in 2023 “alone,” Baptist churches witnessed “thousands of people publicly profess their faith through baptism.”

The Church has woken up to the spiritual hunger in the country and stood up to the challenge of serving not just bodies but souls. In the last three years, Karcha testified that “hundreds of thousands of people have walked through the doors of Ukrainian churches and encountered the love and care of God.” “Many of them for the first time in their life,” he added, and told the story he heard from a German pastor at the Congress of a particular woman who knew nothing of church but fled to Germany as a refugee and sought shelter in a church. She experienced food, care and the church showed love, telling her about Jesus. The woman eventually gave her heart to Jesus Christ. Karcha thanked churches across Europe for their loving support for Ukrainians in the past few years of the war. “The body of Christ is not confined to one country or to one border but is alive and active whenever his people are present,” said Karcha, to more applause. “Thank you for being his hands and his heart for those who are in real need.”

“God is teaching us to listen and to see where he is already at work,” he continued. “Ukrainian churches are there on the front lines, ministering as chaplains in the trenches and grounds, at hospitals, bringing prayer and the hope of Christ to the soldiers in the fire of battle and places of hopelessness.” “We are there for the widows of fallen soldiers and for the orphans whose mothers are never coming home, holding their clothes, sharing the grief. We minister to those who have lost everything, homes reduced to rubble, families torn apart, bodies and souls scared by unspeakable fragments and torture brought to us by the Russian army.” All of these ministries start with active listening, Karcha said, “We listen. We pray. We help. And then when we see how we can help and what can be gone, we speak Jesus.” A man called Viktor, in his mid-50s, came to Karcha’s own church as a refugee, “like so many other at that time.” He was a quiet man, according to the church leader, who seemed broken and carried a “lifelong lifetime of burdens.”

One day, Viktor asked Karcha if they could talk. He disclosed that he knew about God since childhood and spent many decades running away from him, causing pain around him. However, he declared a readiness to surrender his life to Christ. “He cried. He wept. And he was born again, right in front of our eyes,” said Karcha, adding that God is still at work and listening, and still redeeming, bringing children home. “Dear brothers and sisters,” Karcha told delegates, “This is a little bit of what God is doing in our country. He’s awakening his church, stirring a desperate search for hope, and teaching us to listen and watch him work.” “He’s stirring suffering into testimony, fear into faith, and small acts of love into seeds for his kingdom. In the world’s eyes, Ukraine is a story of war. But in God’s eyes, it is a story of revival, a story that reminds us all that the Gospel … advances. That even when the rockets are exploding next to us, the foundation of Christ stands firm. That even in the darkest night, the light of his truth still breaks.” “Let history bow down to the cross,” Karcha said, concluding with an encouragement to boldly proclaim Jesus as Lord regardless of circumstance.

END TIMES CHURCH APOSTASY ESCALATING

A majority of Presbyterian Church of the USA (PCUSA) presbyteries approved Amendment 24-A, which added sexual orientation and gender identity to the denomination’s anti-discrimination statement in the Book of Order F-1.0403.

The theologically progressive Covenant Network of Presbyterians celebrated the passage of the amendment, believing that the measure will make the Mainline Protestant denomination more inclusive.

“This new language provides the church with a rich opportunity for deeper reflection, honest conversation, and authentic discernment,” said the Rev. Brian Ellison, executive director of CNP, in a statement. “I’m genuinely excited to see how these more comprehensive examinations will benefit LGBTQIA+ people, as well as those from other marginalised groups, as they hear more where they stand with those who would serve among them.”

While it’s still the largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States, PCUSA has experienced a substantial decline in membership over the past few decades. You would think the leadership would recognise that they are destroying the denomination. God has taken His hand of blessing off them, and the world despises them.

According to their statistics, PCUSA went from having over 2.5 million members in 2000 to around 1.045 million members last year. The denomination expects to dip below the 1 million mark by the end of this year.

I see this decision as a symptom of the disease within the PCUSA. As a denomination, they have turned away from the authority of Scripture, the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and the orthodox heritage of the Church.

Fortunately, this has caused more PCUSA churches to leave the denomination e.g, The Rev. Bruce Sexton of Faith Presbyterian Church in Hermiston, Oregon, provided Christian Post with a copy of the letter he sent to his congregation in January outlining his decision to leave the denomination that he had served as a minister since 1991.

Sexton, who has long been troubled by the denomination’s liberal direction, cited the approval of the amendment at last year’s General Assembly as the breaking point.

“Now, as one who follows biblical standards, the PCUSA is identifying me as outside the Christian faith because of my biblical understanding of the covenant of marriage.” In the end, ‘I must obey God rather than man.’ (Acts 5:29).”

WHY ISRAEL NEEDS TO ELIMINATE HAMAS

Hamas Attacks Bus of Palestinian Aid Workers Distributing Food in Gaza. Palestinians are killing Palestinians. On Wednesday night, Hamas terrorists attacked a bus of Palestinian aid workers on their way to an aid distribution centre of the U.S.-sponsored Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). The attack demonstrates the terror group’s increasing desperation over the U.S.-Israeli aid distribution campaign that has rocked its hold on power to the core.

At approximately 10 p.m. local time, the bus filled with GHF staff was travelling to the aid distribution centre west of Khan Yunis when Hamas operatives ambushed the bus, strafing its sides with gunfire. “We are still gathering facts, but what we know is devastating: there are at least five fatalities, multiple injuries, and fear that some of our team members may have been taken hostage,” said GHF in a statement Wednesday.

BEAR TOOTH MOUNTAIN REVEALS A HISTORY LESSON

My original heading was “GLOBAL WARMING MUCH GREATER THAN TODAY OCCURRED 1000 AD” but LinkedIn would not accept it. Global warming is a no-go zone for negative stories.

A snow patch on the top of the Bear tooth Mountains of north central Wyoming, USA, has been melting because of a warming climate. Consequently, 30 fallen white bark pine trees became exposed, 180 m (600 ft) above the current tree line. The trees were tall-standing in form and not the scruffy sort usually found near the tree line. This indicates that the tree line was once even higher than 180 m above today’s.

Since a higher altitude means colder temperatures, the higher tree line suggested by the exposed trees means that the climate must have been warmer in the past, when these trees were growing.

Since the post-Flood Ice Age ended some 4,000 years ago, there have been several warm periods. The most recent one is known as the Medieval Warm Period, a 300-year period around AD 1000. Since the snow patch is melting now, the exhumed forest suggests that the world has experienced global warming in the past, which is significantly greater than what is being experienced now.

This report shows why it is so important to have a Biblical worldview, which presents the true history of this world. The world only has a 4 billion-year history because it denies the Bible’s worldwide flood of Noah’s day that buried all living things and the abundant pre-flood forests and vegetation (source of fossils and fossil fuels).

CONFIRMATION WE ARE IN THE BIBLICAL END TIMES

Fuller Seminary is a well-known theological school with campuses in California, Texas, and Arizona, and it advertises itself as an evangelical graduate institution with “roots in orthodoxy.” Well, recently, the Fuller Seminary president, in a letter about LGBTQ issues, stated:

After several years of consultation, feedback, and dialogue, the Board of Trustees reconfirmed the institution’s commitment to its historic theological understanding of marriage and human sexuality—a union between a man and a woman and sexual intimacy within the context of that union. At the same time, we acknowledge that faithful Christians—through prayerful study, spiritual discernment, and lived experience—have come to affirm other covenantal forms of relationship.

It took several years of “consultation, feedback, and dialogue” to make a statement on marriage and human sexuality when all they had was to read and believe God’s Word:

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27

“Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.” Genesis 2:24–25

And see the words of Jesus Christ as the God-man when asked about marriage:

“He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?” Matthew 19:4–5

Since God created marriage, he defines what it is—and it is one man for one woman.

Many seminaries, Bible colleges, Christian colleges and universities, and churches today, rather than fearing God, fear man and try to appease everyone (and in the process, they appease no one and certainly don’t please the Lord!).

These so-called Biblical institutions do not understand where we are on the Biblical timetable, yet there are two thousand Biblical prophecies related to Jesus’ second coming. Most have been fulfilled or are being fulfilled in our day.

Just like the religious leaders of Jesus’ first coming to Earth did not get it, despite three hundred Biblical prophecies forecasting it, the religious leaders of our day are also blind to the truth of His second coming.

We need to take a bold stand on God’s Word beginning in Genesis, challenge these seminaries, Bible colleges, Christian colleges, universities, churches, and culture, and not bend our stand on God’s Word to fit with the culture and compromise Christians. We must make the most of these last days to ensure we complete the work God has prepared for us to do.

TRUMP ALLY WINS IN POLAND, SHOCKING ALL OF EUROPE

God is moving in Europe, and the latest move is in Poland. In 2022, it was in Hungary and Italy.

POLAND: Meet Poland’s new president, Karol Nawrocki, who is pro-life, pro-Trump, pro-Poland, and unashamedly pro-Christian. Nawrocki’s shock win was unexpected.

Commiserating the loss, the left-wing news organisation said Nawrocki’s win was a “significant blow to Tusk’s fragile government.” Poland’s new president is now head of the opposition. Even though the role is ceremonial, Nawrocki has the power to veto legislation, and veto he will. For context, Tusk is an ally of the previous President, anti-Christian Rafał Trzaskowski. Both favour de-Christianising Poland, prefer the European Union over Polish sovereignty, and are ideologically aligned with Marxian globalist ideology, such as LGBTQ+ism, climate catastrophism and abortion.

For AP News, the win was more about Donald Trump than Donald Tusk. Trump supported Nawrocki’s candidacy. While not outrightly suggesting Trump had interfered in the Polish election, AP did make a point of noting that Nawrocki “was at the White House last month.”

HUNGARY: In 2022, Katalin Novak, a pro-life, pro-family mother of three, became Hungary’s first female president.

In October 2021, Novak shared Hungary’s “pro-family mindset” with reporters from the United States as she described how the country established a new constitution in 2011 — replacing a former communist constitution recognizing Hungary as a “People’s Republic.” The 2011 Hungarian Constitution protects “the institution of marriage as the union of a man and a woman,” supports family systems and caring for the elderly, and recognizes life from conception.

ITALY: In 2022, Giorgia Meloni makes no secret that she is eager to go down in history as Italy’s first female prime minister under the slogan “Dio, patria, famiglia” (God, fatherland, family).

As a politician, she is a skilled debater. In addition to her undeniable charisma, she possesses a comprehensive dossier and language skills. The latter came in handy during the recent campaign when she addressed critical foreign media directly in English, French and Spanish.

She claimed her opposition attacked national identity, religious identity, gender, identity and family identity. I can’t define myself as Italian, Christian, woman, mother. Now I must be citizen X, gender X, parent one, parent two. I must be a number because when I’m only a number, when I no longer have an identity or roots, then I will be the perfect slave at the mercy of financial speculators. We will defend the value of the human being -every single human being.”

She says of herself, “I am Giorgia, I am a woman, I am Italian, I am Christian. You can’t take this away from me!”
