TIMING OF THE RAPTURE EXPLAINED FROM SCRIPTURE

Another excellent video from Nelson Walters of The Gospel in the End Times.

Jesus said his coming would be like the Days of Noah, that unbelievers would be living relatively normal lives up to that point. Do the details of the Flood account along with Daniel’s 70th Week give us an idea of how long the wrath of God is? Watch this video to learn from Nelson’s explanation from important but less explored Scriptures relating to the timing of events prior to Jesus second coming.

HOW GOD USES CATASTROPHES FOR HIS PURPOSE

MUSLIM SYRIANS WHO SUFFERED UNDER ISIS NOW TURNING TO CHRISTIANITY

In 2015, Kobani was the centre in the battle against ISIS.  It was also there that US-led forces beat back ISIS terrorists and liberated the city before finally ending the group’s hold over Iraq and Syria.  Many of the new converts to Christ say the violence ISIS brought to their region left them disillusioned with Islam.  Many Muslims became agnostic or atheist, others turned to Jesus and opened up Kobani’s first church in decades called “Church of the Brethren.”  It is the only evangelical church in Kobani.  “After the war with ISIS people were looking for the right path, and distancing themselves from Islam,”  church founder Omar Firas said. “People were scared and felt lost.”

Firas said approximately 80 to 100 people in Kobani now worship at the evangelical church. “We meet on Tuesdays and hold a service on Fridays.  It is open to anyone who wants to join,” he said.  Firas founded the church while a new representative form of government in northeast Syria called the “Self Administration of Syria” (SANES) was emerging.  The SANES controls a third of Syria between the Tigris and Euphrates River and guarantees freedom of religion to all of the 4 million people within its borders.  Firas told CBN News his church would never have been allowed under ISIS. “We can express our rituals with complete freedom,” he said.

PROPHESIED END TIMES FAMINES AND TROUBLES

The disciples asked Jesus about the “last days”. “Tell us when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all of these things will be fulfilled. And Jesus answering them gave many signs but one was:

And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles . These are the beginnings of sorrows.” Luke 13:8

No End in Sight for Drought Woes  – The Australian Tribune 08/2018

Wheat growers across northern NSW and southern Queensland are facing their fourth year without a crop.

And with no decent rain on the horizon, not knowing when the nightmare will end is one of the most distressing things, grain grower John Eastburn says.

For things to turn around they need three or four falls of 100 mm over several months, and even if that came they couldn’t seed until next March and face the prospect of no income until December 2019.

Even if the rain comes they can still see there is no income — there is a lot of outgoing but no incoming until the end of next year which is probably the most distressing part,’ Mr Eastburn told reporters in Canberra on Monday.

Derek Schoen, who has a property at Corowa, says farmers aren’t at the end of the drought, they’re in the middle, with no end in sight. ‘One of the biggest problems with the drought is it sneaks up on you and then you’re on this treadmill that you can’t get off,’ he said.

The Turnbull government has announced a new $190 million package of household assistance, to help property owners with day to day bills like vehicle registration and school fees.

The worst agricultural disaster in modern American history – 04/2019

Worst flooding damage in our state’s history: Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts, R-Neb

According to Agriculture Secretary Sunny Purdue, there “may be as many as a million calves lost in Nebraska” due to the catastrophic flooding that has hit the state. This is not a rumour, this is not an exaggeration, and this is not based on any sort of speculation. This number comes to us directly from the top agriculture official in the entire country, and it means that the economic toll from the recent floods is far greater than most of us had anticipated. You can watch Purdue make this quote on Fox Business right here, and it is important to remember that this number is just for one state. It is hard to imagine what the final numbers will look like when the livestock losses for all of the states affected by the flooding are tallied up. This is already the worst agricultural disaster in modern American history, and the National Weather Service is telling us that there will be more catastrophic flooding throughout the middle portion of the nation for the next two months.

BRAZIL – A STANDOUT NATION FOR GOD

Last week, three million Christians filled the streets of São Paulo to share the word of God and “cry out for Brazil, for the families, for the end of corruption, for the afflicted hearts.”

The President’s involvement

It wasn’t President Jair Bolsonaro’s first time at the march, as he had participated in 2018 when he was a Presidential candidate. Keeping his promise to return, even if elected President, he gave a speech that encouraged the attendees to pursue their faith. “You were decisive in helping change the destiny of Brazil. It is very good to be among friends. And even better when they are friends with God in their hearts” Bolsonaro said.

The same is true for Australia, Christians were responsible for Scott Morrison, a Pentecostal Christian getting elected as Prime Minister in Australia when all the News polls said the opposition were a “shoo- in”.

Brazil “is secular but its current leader is Christian,” Bolsonaro pointed out, adding that he hopes to overcome the “ethical and moral” problems in Brazil with the help of Christians. I hope the same is true in Australia.

Joao Doria, the Governor of São Paulo, and Bruno Covas, the Mayor of São Paulo, both members of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party, were also in attendance.

“This is the March for Jesus, but it is also the march of harmony and understanding between those who love Sao Paulo and Brazil,” Doria said, according to the Evangelical Focus.

With the theme “The Rescuer”, based on 1 Timothy 2:6, the march was a manifestation of joy, love, hope, gratitude and faith. “Every year, we have a theme. These themes are a reference of what Christ represents for us. He rescued us from the empire of darkness and carried us into His mighty light. It is for Him that we march”, the organisers pointed out.

LIVING ETERNAL NOW

My purpose for Living Eternal Now is to encourage people to start living with this focus.

When the disciples asked Jesus: “How should we pray?”. Jesus gave us The Lords Prayer.

All Christians know it, and pray it, but when we pray “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” how many of us really seek to play a part each day in making that happen – Jesus Kingdom on earth and His will being done on earth as it is in heaven. How difficult it is to say, as Jesus did to the Father, “not My will but Yours be done”

Even for me at age 82 I find it difficult to stay away from worldly distractions, particularly time wasters such as TV. What about you?

Avoda or Avodah is the Hebrew word for work, worship, and service so work is God ordained, it is just how we conduct that work which is of interest to God.

For those that have read About Me, on this site, you will know that God equipped me for business and even now I am on the Australian Board of the International Christian Chamber of Commerce and author of the book Build a Kingdom Business – Empowered by the Holy Spirit (available as an ebook on Amazon and a paperback edition is available from me for a donation to cover postage, email ron@bakb.com.au)

My current project, as some of you are aware, is providing sermons and videos for the end times church on http://www.powerpointsermons.net. There are a lot of power point sermons already up there but I believe God has shown me that I need to actually present the sermons and put them up on YouTube.

I prayed about which one to do first and I believe it is ISRAEL – HISTORY & PURPOSE. Initially, I thought BIBLICAL INERRANCY but no, God wants me to start with Israel and I can only think that as Israel is central to all that God does, and in fact the Antichrist does, in the “last days” that this is the reason.

When it is finished I will put it up on livingeternal.net and would appreciate your input on it. If you think it is beneficial, I would appreciate your help in promoting it, and http://www.powerpointsermons.net.

ALL THESES ARE THE BEGINNING OF BIRTH PANGS NOT THE DAY OF THE LORD

Alan Kurschner of Eschatos Ministries does a creditable job to explain that Matthew 24:8 and 1 Thessalonians 5:3 do not explain the same events, which provides support for the PreWrath Rapture position: the Rapture occurs after the tribulation and great tribulation but before the wrath of God is poured out at the Trumpet and Vial judgements.

“Pretribulational proponents believe that the beginning of birth pangs that Jesus mentions in his Olivet Discourse refer to when the day of the Lord’s wrath begins and typically place it at the beginning of the seven-year period.

In an attempt to make the “beginning of birth pangs” in Matthew 24:8 describe the day of the Lord’s wrath, pretribulationists assert that this is parallel with Paul’s usage of “labour pains” in 1 Thessalonians 5:3, which clearly refers to the beginning of God’s wrath. However, it is obvious the respective contexts show that Jesus and Paul are not describing the same event, but actually very different events. The metaphor “birth pangs” is not a technical phrase to denote the day of the Lord as some wrongly claim. Context must determine the application of the usage of the common metaphor of birth pangs.

Let’s compare both verses:

“And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of birth pangs.” (Matt 24:8)

“For you yourselves know perfectly that THE DAY OF THE LORD so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labour pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3

There are six differences that demonstrate that Jesus and Paul are using it for two separate and distinct periods.

1. Jesus’ usage in Matthew 24 describes events before the great tribulation; Paul’s usage is found at the inception of the day of the Lord. Jesus uses the birthing metaphor to warn that the end has not arrived (“Make sure that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come. . . All these things are the beginning of birth pains”). Paul uses it to announce that the end has arrived (“then sudden destruction comes on them, like labour pains,” cf. Isaiah 13:7–8).

2. Accordingly, Jesus emphasises the tolerable stage of “the beginning of birth pains” (Matt 24:8); hence, the reason he reassures, “Make sure that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come” (Matt 24:6). In contrast, Paul is drawing from Isaiah’s labour imagery focused on the intolerable stage of actual giving birth, “cramps and pain seize hold of them like those of a woman who is straining to give birth” (Isaiah 13:8).

3. Jesus teaches that the “beginning of birth pangs” is what Christians are destined to experience (Matt 24:4–8); Paul teaches just the opposite that Christians are promised exemption from the hard labour pains, the time of God’s wrath (1 Thess. 5:9).

4. The labour pains in Matthew 24 refer to natural events such as false christs, wars, famines, and earthquakes (Matt. 24:5–8). Paul’s reference is to the supernatural event of the day of the Lord (2 Thess. 1:5–8).

5. Jesus’ usage of the beginning of birth pangs occurs before the celestial disturbance happens (Matt. 24:8–29). But in the Isaiah passage that Paul is drawing from associates the birth pangs of the onset of the day of the Lord with the celestial disturbance (Isaiah 13: 8–10).

6. Jesus uses the birthing metaphor to apply to both unbelievers and believers (Matt 24:5–8). While Paul uses it exclusively applied to unbelievers (1 Thess. 5:3–4).

The interpreter must be careful not to fall into the similarity equals identity fallacy. Context is key.”

DANIEL 8 PROPHESIES IRAN’S INVASION OF MIDDLE EAST

A simple interpretation of Daniel 8 suggests Iran is going to invade most of the Middle East (the vision concerns the time of the end”. Iran’s current presence in Syria, Lebanon (Hezbollah) and Gaza (Hamas) and continued threats to annihilate Israel already give credence to this prophesy. The following article just confirms that this event is an important one in end times Biblical prophecy.

Former Intelligence Chief: Gravest Threat Facing Israel is ‘First Northern War

“The gravest threat we face is not the third Lebanon war, but the first northern war – simultaneous conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon, Syria, and Iran, which Hamas in the south is likely to join,” warned IDF Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amos Yadlin, former head of the IDF’s Military Intelligence Directorate.

Speaking while presenting President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday with the 2019 Strategic Assessment from the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) which he currently heads, Yadlin noted that “Israel of 2019 is a strong country, the IDF is extremely powerful and deters our enemies.” The INSS research highlights the major political and diplomatic issues facing Israel in the near future. On the list of leading threats by severity, the INSS’s 2019 assessment includes war with all the enemy forces and on all fronts in the north – Iran on the Golan Heights, Hezbollah (Iran proxy) in Lebanon, and the Syrian regime – as well as a military conflict in the south with Hamas (Iran funded)  in Gaza and a deterioration of the situation in Judea and Samaria.

2008 PROPHETIC WARNING OF FOOD SHORTAGES IN OUR TIME

Back in 2008, John Paul Jackson released a prophetic warning for America that he entitled “The Perfect Storm”.  At that time he released a public prophetic bulletin which you can find right here, and he also released a DVD which went into much greater detail about what is coming.

John Paul Jackson Prophecy Fulfilled: “Devastation From Storms Will Dramatically Cut Into Various Harvests And the National Food Storage Will Deplete”

In the DVD, he specifically stated that most of what he was sharing wouldn’t happen for about a decade.  In other words, most of what he was shown was supposed to start happening during the time period that we have now entered into. And that is precisely what is happening.  John Paul Jackson warned us that things would seem to get better for a time, but then after that America would be hit with crisis after crisis.

Torrential Rain Of Biblical Proportions Is Causing Immense Devastation For Midwest Farmers

The wettest 12 months in all of U.S. history was followed by the second wettest May on record, and for some parts of the Midwest the month of June will be even worse. Some portions of Ohio and Indiana have gotten 10 more inches of rain since Friday, and more rain is literally falling on the Midwest. When I describe what we have witnessed as “torrential rain of Biblical proportions”, I am not exaggerating even a little bit. Even before we got to the month of June, farmers in the middle of the country were already dealing with a disaster unlike anything that they had ever experienced before. And just when everyone thought that it couldn’t possibly get any worse, it did. Since Friday, the rainfall totals in the Ohio Valley have been staggering.

At this point, millions of acres that farmers had intended to plant with corn will go completely unused. And according to a Washington Post article that was republished by MSN corn futures are surging because traders are anticipating “an impending shortage” of corn…

For many Midwest farmers, this will be their last year in operation. Farm bankruptcies had already risen to the highest level since the last recession even before all of this rain, and this unprecedented disaster will be the final nail in the coffin for a lot of farms that have been teetering on the brink.

According to one recent survey, it is expected that the number of farm loan defaults over the next year will be double what we saw in 2017

The true scope of this crisis will not be fully known until harvest time rolls around, but right now the outlook for U.S. agricultural production in 2019 is exceedingly grim.

It is evident our planet is becoming increasingly unstable and global weather patterns are changing dramatically. Exactly what is prophesied before the time of Jesus Second Coming. Time is short, so let’s make sure we stay focused on what the Holy Spirit is showing us is God’s will for our lives this day. I love how the Apostle Paul put it in Romans 8:18… For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

IS YOUR CHURCH AUTHENTIC OR PART OF PROPHESIED LAST DAYS APOSTASY?

Pastor Francis Chan says he’s tired of man-made revivals and warned the church that there’s no time for “playing games” any more. Chan’s comments came during a February 6 speech at Liberty University’s Convocation gathering.

Chan, an avid surfer, compared man-made revivals to a wave pool—controlled and fun, but ultimately predictable and artificial. He says he came to that realisation while visiting a wave pool in Waco, Texas.

“It’s so different than going in the ocean, where it’s like, ‘Gosh, I don’t know if something huge is going to come.’ There have been times where we’ve driven for like an hour and just sat in the water—nothing happened. … There’s so many things that can happen in the ocean. And I thought, ‘This is so nice. You can just go to a wave pool and you won’t have any fear.’

“And when I looked at that thing, I thought, ‘Gosh, you know, this is what church services sometimes feel like to me.’ It’s like this wave that you can create. You know at 9:15 this is going to happen, and you know at 9:20, and then you know at 9:40 it’s going to start dying out because it has to. It’s just going to happen. And you can do it over and over and over again. And I feel like for many years I’ve been content with that, because it’s fun and everyone’s having a good time. But man, don’t you read the Scriptures and go ‘Gosh, there was so much that was unpredictable’? Where it really was a move from God. It wasn’t mad-made. It wasn’t this man-made wave, but things would happen that were out of your control.”

Chan says he is done with artificial moves of God and instead said he craves an authentic move of the Holy Spirit.

“I’ve been praying that this would be something that is not man-made, because I feel like I know how to make a wave in a room,” Chan says. “And I’m just done with it. There’s just no time for that anymore. I’m just done playing games.”

Jesus told the parable of the Ten Virgins as part of His response to the disciples question “what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” All ten virgins were waiting for the bridegroom, so we can presume they ALL thought they were Christians. What was the outcome? ALL slept (is Jesus telling us that the church will be asleep) and worse still half of them were not born again (no oil for their lamps). The Lord said to them, “depart from me, “I do not know you”. Could it be that 50% of people in our churches today are not saved?

I believe this wake up call to the church by Francis Chan is timely. Suggest you share it with others.

URGENT WARNING FOR AMERICAN CHRISTIANS

Francis Chan, Ravi Zacharias Issue Urgent Warning to American Christians

“There is something about the American culture that can soften us. What can we do about it?” pastor and author Francis Chan asked during a recent question-and-answer discussion with apologist Ravi Zacharias.

While Christians around the globe face the worst persecution in modern history, American Christians often choose distraction over spending time with the Lord.

“Does that mean we just resolve and say, ‘Well, I live in America. We can only go so far in our walk with the Lord ’cause we’re not persecuted’? Absolutely not. But there are things we need to do just even in our own prayer lives, when Scripture says to be sober-minded and self-controlled for the sake of your prayers,” Chan said.

“That thought of being clear-minded rather than filling your mind with mindless texts and Facebook posts and videos and movies so where, when it’s time to pray, our mind is going everywhere and we lose touch with reality. And that’s the problem. That’s what keeps us from some of this depth and this time with the Lord. I see it. I feel it slipping away.”

Watch the video to see the Q & A session with Francis Chan and Ravi Zacharias. It does not start until 6 minutes into the video so be patient it is worth the wait.
