We know that Revelation reveals what happens in the last seven years before Jesus returns. It is the 70th week of Daniel’s 70 Weeks Prophecy (Daniel 9:24-27). Could the seven seals relate to what is unfolding in each of the last seven years and what about the churches could they reveal what is unfolding in the church during each of the seven years? For example only one church is told it will be kept from the wrath of God (the Church of Philadelphia) and God said to one church that He would spit them out of His mouth.(the church of Laodicea). What about the other churches? Could the names of the churches be significant (e.g. the fourth church, “Thyatira” means “graveyard on a hill.“ The fourth seal and fourth horse (green) signifies death. Nelson and Ryan believe that we entered the last seven years’ tribulation of Daniel’s 70 Weeks Prophecy when the UN entered into a Pact of Peace on Rosh Hashanah, October 2024. The President of the U.N. General Assembly noted that the Pact of Peacewould “lay the foundations for a sustainable, just, and peaceful global order – for all peoples and nations.”
Note the events they say we need to watch for on April 9th 2025, and on the following Feast Days, particularly the meeting of the Arab nations to discuss the future of Gaza and a “Two-State solution”.
Also, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) renewed calls on December 2nd, 2024, for Israel to withdraw from the occupied Palestinian territories in the Middle East. It announced an international summit for June 2-4, 2025, to discuss the potential for a “Two-State solution” in the region.
It should not be surprising to us when an Old Testament account has a now and prophetic future meaning like the Exodus account of the blood over the door posts of the Passover Lamb. We know now that was to be a picture of Jesus, the Passover Lamb. The conquest of Jericho is one of these stories. One has to ask what purpose would God have to give Joshua such a crazy battle plan unless it was to be a picture of a future event. As you will see it bears many parallels to the last seven years of the 70th week of Daniel.
The Pattern of Seven Events is an essential and critical prophetic construction for the 70th week of Daniel, the last seven years before Jesus returns to first rapture the Saints and to pour out His wrath upon an unrepentant world.
The pattern of seven events is the “roadmap” of the 70th Week of Daniel allowing Christians to know where they are in each of the seven years and what to anticipate next, what the timing of those events will be, and most importantly how to “overcome” during the trials that are to come. This pattern of seven events is given by Jesus in the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke, in Joshua, Judges, Psalms, Daniel, Ezekiel, and in Revelation with the letters to the Seven Churches, and the Seven Seals. It is also in the meaning and order of the Feasts of the Lord. God gives us these numerous accounts so that we know He is in control of all that unfolds including the great tribulation that Christians will experience during this time.
THE RAPTURE
If we read the Conquest of Jericho account closely we’ll notice that the timing of the Rapture is given:
“And when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, when you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout, and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people shall go up,” Joshua 6:5
This passage bears an amazing similarity to Paul’s accounts of the Rapture: “For the Lord, Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
The “last trumpet” is the final “long blast with a ram’s horn” on Yom Teruah just like the quote above from the Jericho Account. This is truly amazing. At the breaking of the Seventh Seal, Jesus will blow the trumpet of God and a great shout will go out. The dead in Christ will rise first, and, as the Jericho Account states, “the people will go up.” Just as in the seven-day battle of Jericho, the “symbolic Rapture” occurs after encircling the city for six days (six seals), at the very end of the Sixth Year of the 70th Week of Daniel, the Rapture will occur at the seventh seal (encircling the city seven times). The saints will be gathered together by the angels to our Lord and will enter a Sabbath rest in Heaven.

The Seventy Weeks prophecy of Daniel is a foundational end times prophecy
“Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place.” Daniel 9:24
In this Seventy weeks (seventy weeks of years) prophecy, the first 69 weeks have played out exactly as prophesied including Jesus first coming to this earth and being killed “cut off”. There is an unspecified time gap between the 69 weeks and the last seven weeks (seven years) but as many of the other end-times events specified by Jesus in the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24) and in Revelation are beginning to play out we know that the last seven years before Jesus returns to set up His Millennial Kingdom is not too far off.
Daniel’s prophecy of the “70 Weeks” may be the most important prophecy in the Bible and the most amazing. Its sweeping panorama allowed the wise in ancient Israel to know the exact timing of the arrival of Jesus upon his first coming and His death.
“Then, after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary.” Dan. 9:25.This part of the prophecy has occurred. The rest of the prophecy provides incredible details about Jesus’s second coming.
This sermon by Jonathan Cahn on Daniel’s 70 weeks is excellent. The only significant difference in my view of this prophecy and Jonathan’s, is the identity of the Antichrist. As most of you already know, I believe the Antichrist will be a Muslim , possibly the Mahdi, the Muslim Messiah and they believe his arrival is imminent. The people of the prince to come that destroyed the city were not Roman.
This phrase about the coming prince is one of the most controversial passages in the entire Bible! The Greek perfectly renders this thought. Jesus was going to destroy the city and Temple with the one that is coming. In this case that was Titus, the general of the Roman forces. Jesus destroyed the city using his agents, which just happened to be Titus and his soldiers. After examining a sampling of evidence from both ancient historians as well as the most cutting-edge modern scholarship to date, we may very confidently conclude that the ‘Roman’ soldiers in the Eastern provinces that destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple were in fact Eastern peoples – the inhabitants of Asia Minor, Syria, Arabia and Egypt. The people of the prince to come were from Middle Eastern countries that are now Muslim.
What we see unfolding in the Middle East is a lead up to the “end times” wars prophesied in the Bible.
Listen to Joel talk about what is unfolding now – conflict between Iran (Shia) and its neighbours as it attempts to exert its dominance on these Muslim nations. This is already happening with Iran troops in Syria and Iraq and its proxies, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.
What follows in Daniel 8:5-8 is the prophesied Goat with a single horn (Turkey) trampling the ram (Iran). This is Turkey’s (Sunni) response to re-establish a revised Ottoman Empire.
These all proceed the final Gog/Magog war.
Gabriel told Daniel three times “for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.” I believe we are living in the time of the end when we are seeing these prophesied events unfold. We are fast approaching the final week (shabua) of the Seventy weeks prophesied in Daniel 9:24-27.
