“Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.” Revelation !2:7-9
This war in Heaven has not yet taken place. These verses are from the Book of Revelation written by John on the island of Patmos, decades after Jesus had ascended to Heaven. The Book of Revelation is a vision of future events.
God has tolerated Satan as an accuser for a long time. Remember when Satan was allowed to test Job.
“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” Job 1:6-7
Jesus when on earth acknowledges Satan as king of this world. He had not yet been thrown out of Heaven. God has allowed Satan to act freely within limits to deceive mankind. The war with Satan and his troops is an “end times” event of the near future. Satan with his angels will be thrown to the Earth; then Satan knows he has only a little time. Satan’s last desperate and terrible efforts to deceive mankind are to involve the Antichrist and the False Prophet.
“Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath because he knows that his time is short!”Revelation 12:12

God’s Word (Bible) reveals amazing detail of future “end times” events. We should use “end times” Bible prophesy when delivering the Gospel to those the Holy Spirit leads us. It demonstrates God is in total control of history.

We are living in the time Biblical prophecy reveals is the time leading up to when the demonically inspired world leader (Antichrist) appears on the scene for his allotted time. What is Satan’s Throne? Is it the ancient Altar of Zeus that once stood in Pergamum, the site where those refusing to worship the Emperor were slain? The altar was dedicated by King Eumenes II to Zeus and AthenaNikephoros, and its construction probably took place between 181 and 159 B.C.
The Turkish government agreed, perhaps for money, that the ancient foundation of the Pergamon Altar (Satan’s Throne) which was rediscovered by German archaeologists to become the property of Germany. In 1930 the Pergamon Museum in Berlin was opened to the public.

A few years later, the Nazi Party’s chief architect, Albert Speer, was commissioned by the new chancellor, Adolf Hitler, to design the parade grounds for the party rallies in Nuremberg. Speer turned to the Pergamon Altar for inspiration. Using the altar as a model, Speer created a colossal grandstand, known as the Zeppelin tribune. In the following years’ mass rallies, Hitler descended down the steps like a tribune in ancient Rome.
That Altar is now in Berlin, Germany. Copies of it were used by Adolph Hitler and Barack Obama during their political careers but is the real thing returning to Turkey? Erdogan’s government demanded Berlin give up the Altar of Pergamum first in 2017. Will it be returned in 2023? It is the date many believe will initiate the reformation of the Ottoman Empire (Caliphate) as it marks the one-hundredth anniversary of its demise.
We know from Biblical “end times” prophecy that Turkey (Goat of Daniel 8) reasserts its dominance of the Muslims by re-establishing a revived Ottoman Empire but its existence is short-lived. It is broken up into four nations. We are not told by whom but I would predict it to be the United Nations working with the World Economic Forum. It is out of the four nations that the Antichrist arises. His time is short 3 1/2 years. He is defeated when Jesus returns to earth with the Saints at the battle of Armageddon.
“Then the goat (Turkey) became exceedingly great, but when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and instead of it there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven. Out of one of them came a little horn (Antichrist), which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land. His (Antichrist) power shall be great—but not by his own power, and he shall cause fearful destruction and shall succeed in what he does, and destroy mighty men and the people who are the saints. And he shall even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he shall be broken—but by no human hand. The Revolutionary Court of Tehran has sentenced an Iranian-Armenian Christian man to 10 years in prison for establishing a house church, which the judge called “propaganda contrary to and disturbing to the holy religion of Islam,” according to reports.
Saba Kord Afshari is just 22 years old. In August 2019, the Revolutionary Court of Tehran sentenced her to 24 years in prison for opposing the compulsory hijab.
Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, headed by Judge Afshari, sentenced Anooshavan Avedian, 60, to 10 years of imprisonment, alongside two others who are members of his house church — Abbas Soori, 45, and Maryam Mohammadi, 46 — both of whom are converts to Christianity, Human Rights Activists News Agency reported.
Article 18, a U.K.-based organization that promotes religious freedom in Iran, reported that Soori and Mohammadi received a range of non-custodial punishments, including a fine of about $2,000 (500 million rials) and a 10-year ban from membership in social and political groups as well as a two-year exile outside Tehran. In addition, they must regularly report to the offices of the Ministry of Intelligence.
The three were convicted on the charge of “organizing and running an Evangelical ‘Zionist’ home church with the intention to act against national security” and “maintaining satellite dish and receivers.”
They were first arrested in August 2020 when about 30 intelligence agents raided a private gathering at Avedian’s home in Narmak are in northeastern Tehran, but their case came to light only recently.
The agents confiscated all the Bibles and communication devices with passwords.
In Tehran’s Evin Prison, the three were subjected to psychological torture during several intense interrogation sessions.
Judge Afshari pronounced Avedian guilty of “establishing and leading an illegal group with the aim of disrupting the security of the country through education and propaganda activities contrary to and disturbing to the holy religion of Islam, through the dissemination of false claims … as well as contact with foreign countries, or organisational guidance from abroad.”
The Christians’ defense was met with “disrespectful remarks toward their character, and insults to their faith,” according to Article 18, which also said that over the past decade, authorities in Iran have closed down nearly all churches that offered services in Persian, the national language, or insisted they teach only in the ethnic minority languages.
The Islamic Republic is ranked as the ninth-worst country in the world when it comes to Christian persecution, according to Open Doors USA’s World Watch List.
“Converts from Islam to Christianity are most at risk of persecution, especially by the government and to a lesser extent by society and their own families,” it says.
“The government sees the growth of the church in Iran as an attempt by Western countries to undermine Islam and the Islamic regime of Iran. House groups made up of converts from Muslim backgrounds are often raided, and both their leaders and members have been arrested, prosecuted, and given long prison sentences for “crimes against national security.”
The Muslim religion is an antichrist religion and Biblical prophecy reveals the Antichrist (Little Horn) arises out of one of four Muslim nations when the revived Ottoman Empire is broken up (perhaps by the U.N. or Russia) into four nations.

Bible prophecy is being fulfilled in our time. The ram of Daniel 8 is Iran “I saw the ram charging westward and northward and southward.” Since its inception in 1979, the Islamic Republic of Iran has aggressively sought to “export” its Islamic Revolution and remake the Middle East under its dominion. Iran’s primary method to empower itself has been to anchor loyal proxies in the region, which it has done most successfully with Hezbollah in Lebanon, and more recently in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Gaza.

Where its proxies have not been able to take root, Iran has engaged in subversive activities to undermine its rivals and enhance its influence, as it has done in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Afghanistan.
“I was in Susa the citadel, which is in the province of Elam. And I saw in the vision, and I was at the Ulai canal. I (Daniel) raised my eyes and saw, and behold, a ram standing on the bank of the canal. It had two horns, and both horns were high, but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last. I saw the ram charging westward and northward and southward. No beast could stand before him, and there was no one who could rescue him from his power. He did as he pleased and became great.” Daniel 8:2-4
According to Dr. Shimon Shapira, a senior researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JCPA), Iran has long sought to establish an Islamic empire among the Shi’ite populations in the Middle East region and encourages them to “challenge the nation-states in which they operate and to shape them by building a fighting Islamic society with military capabilities that is exclusively loyal to the leader of Iran, and that affords Iran active involvement in the jihad against Israel.”

“Lebanon was the Islamic empire’s first target,” he said. “Over the past decade, it has fallen like a ripe fruit into Iran’s hands. Through Hezbollah, Iran has taken control of the institutions of the Lebanese state and turned it into a failed state whose stability has collapsed amid severe economic and political corruption that threatens its demise.”
“Meanwhile,” Shapira added, “Iraq and Syria have fallen, and Iran is using Yemen’s territory to wage the struggle against Saudi Arabia, whose legitimate control of the Islamic holy places Iran has put in question.”
Hezbollah works day and night to improve its military capabilities in the likely and inevitable event it goes to war with Israel.
Shapira noted that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah recently announced that the terror organization “had managed to convert thousands of missiles in its possession into precision-guided missiles, despite Israel’s attempts to thwart the process during its ‘campaign between the wars.’ ”
At the moment, according to Shapira, “Hezbollah is believed to have 130,000 missiles and rockets with ranges of 10 to 500 kilometers dispersed in Southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley in bunkers next to schools, clinics, hospitals, soccer fields, as well as the Iranian embassy in Beirut and the Lebanese Defense Ministry.”
According to Shapira, Iran’s strategy in Lebanon is based on three main factors:
One, turning Lebanon into an Iranian forward position against Israel, including an array of short- and long-range missiles intended to deter Israel from attacking the Iranian nuclear program.
Two, building an Islamic society in Lebanon in the image of Iran whose fealty is to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
However, we know from Biblical prophecy that Iran will not achieve its goal of establishing a Shia Islamic Empire because the Goat of Daniel 8, Sunni Turkey will crush and subdue it. However, the revived Ottoman Empire will not exist for long as the following Scriptures reveal. It will be broken up into four nations and out of one of these four, the Antichrist will arise.
“As I (Daniel) was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west across the face of the whole earth, without touching the ground. And the goat had a conspicuous horn between his eyes. He came to the ram with the two horns, which I had seen standing on the bank of the canal, and he ran at him in his powerful wrath. I saw him come close to the ram, and he was enraged against him and struck the ram and broke his two horns. And the ram had no power to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled on him. And there was no one who could rescue the ram from his power. With Scripture, we can watch world events and see Biblical prophecy unfolding exactly as prophesied by the O.T and N.T writers. How good is our God, He has warned us in advance demonstrating His control over human history.
The Seventy Weeks prophecy of Daniel is a foundational end times prophecy
“Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place.” Daniel 9:24
In this Seventy weeks (seventy weeks of years) prophecy, the first 69 weeks have played out exactly as prophesied including Jesus first coming to this earth and being killed “cut off”. There is an unspecified time gap between the 69 weeks and the last seven weeks (seven years) but as many of the other end-times events specified by Jesus in the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24) and in Revelation are beginning to play out we know that the last seven years before Jesus returns to set up His Millennial Kingdom is not too far off.
... And he (Antichrist) shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week, he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”Daniel 9:27
Bearing in mind Daniel was told to seal up the prophecy as it was not applicable until the time of the end.
“Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end.” Daniel 12:9
We know from this prophecy that the Antichrist puts an end to sacrifices and offerings at the midpoint of the last seven years so they will need to start sometime before the midpoint.

The first book of the Bible, Genesis is the book of beginnings, the opening sentence reads:
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”Genesis 1:1
and the last book of the Bible, Revelation is the book of consummation. It truly is the end of the story for this world:

Despite the fact the Bible is the only book in the world that accurately prophesies future events, few, and I include a lot of Christians in the few, treat it with the respect and honour it deserves.
Major events in God’s dealings with mankind are treated as myths.
The geological column is a general order of Noah’s Flood, but with many exceptions. Most of the column represents rocks deposited/emplaced as the floodwaters were rising on the earth, about 4,500 years ago. Thus the ‘dates’ of millions of years shown on the left side are not correct but are retained to allow conversion between the column and real-time Biblical history. The worldwide flood of Noah’s day when God destroyed all life on this planet with the exception of those He preserved on Noah’s Ark.
“And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth.” Genesis 6:13
God created the nations by confusing the language. “Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth. And from there the Lord dispersed them over the face of all the earth.” Genesis 11:9
These two catastrophic events demonstrate God is in control of His world and that He does judge it. To believe otherwise is foolish. In addition, God has revealed in His Word, the Bible, that He will pour out His wrath again upon an unrepentant world. In fact, God gives us incredible detail on the “end times” before Jesus returns, particularly on what He allows Satan to do through his Antichrist. God tests His church. It will be refined with tribulation even great tribulation prior to God rapturing the church and He pours out His wrath with the Trumpet and Bowl judgements.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:9-14
A new giant statue installed outside the United Nations headquarters in Manhattan, New York City, is being likened to the End Times “beast” described by the Apostle John in Revelation 13:2. This absolutely gigantic statue is called “The Guardian of International Peace and Security”. What could be the significance of this statue appearing at this time? It looks like the beast of Revelation 13 that just happens to represent the Antichrist who we know will rule the nations of the world during the last 3 1/2 years prior to Jesus Christ’s return.

This is what the UN is saying about the statue: A guardian for international peace and security sits on the Visitor’s Plaza outside #UN Headquarters. The guardian is a fusion of jaguar and eagle and donated by the Government of Oaxaca, Mexico @MexOnu. It is created by artists Jacobo and Maria Angeles.
In Revelation chapter 13, we learn that this “beast” that the Apostle John was shown represents the Antichrist which will rule the entire world during the days of the Great Tribulation…

Is this just another end times sign? I think it is and Christians need to set their focus on what Jesus is calling them to do to bring in the “end times” harvest. It is a time to speak out boldly, courageously for the truth of God’s word. We know how this is going to play out and we can use these “end times” prophecies in evangelism.
