Minnesota: many Americans, understandably shocked, look at the protests, the violence, and the loss of life and point to immediate causes. Some cite fraud and corruption in federally funded social programs, apparently tolerated by state officials. Others point to aggressive enforcement of immigration law that sparked deadly confrontations.
Minnesota is not an outlier; it is a case study of what happens when institutions that once fostered moral restraint abandon that role. The real cause is less obvious because it is far removed from the tragic events we see today in the headlines.
It can be traced back decades to what was called the long march through the institutions — a phrase coined in the late 1960s by Marxist student leader Rudi Dutschke. The phrase deliberately echoed Mao Zedong’s Long March, but Dutschke’s was not a military campaign. It was a cultural and ideological one, measured in decades rather than battles.
The strategy was to transform society not by overthrowing government outright, but by infiltrating its core institutions: universities, primary and secondary education, the media, the courts, and even churches. The objective was to shape what people were taught — what would be considered normal, respectable, and acceptable — so that political outcomes would eventually become inevitable.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) alluded to this reality recently before the British Parliament when he referenced a quote often attributed to Abraham Lincoln:
“The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.”
That insight helps explain why the classroom has been central to this long march. Obstacles to Marxist ideology had to be removed or marginalized. It was no accident that prayer and Bible reading were removed from public schools in 1962 and 1963. When God and His word are removed as moral restraints, lawlessness fills the vacuum — and that is the fertile ground in which Marxism takes root and gains power.
Over time, that march has moved beyond institutions and inevitably spilled into the streets. Confrontations like those we’ve seen in Minneapolis — whether involving George Floyd or Alex Pretti — are becoming routine. The rule of law depends on shared moral limits; when those limits erode, force alone cannot restore order.
In the last days, before Jesus returns to restore righteousness, he said that “lawlessness will be increased“
“And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet… and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. No wonder our nation is confused. This isn’t an abstract legal glitch. It’s a cultural earthquake and we’re all living in the aftershocks. When the law deletes biological reality, it reflects something deeper: a nation rejecting God and rejecting truth. Scripture is clear: God created humanity in His image; male and female. He designed our bodies with purpose, with complementarity, and with the ability to bring forth life. This isn’t a ‘Christian belief’; it’s a universal human and scientific reality. Only a male and a female can create life. No amount of surgery, hormones, or legal word-games can change that. But biological sex is inconvenient for a culture driven by desire instead of design. So, the modern world fights God’s created order – fighting nature itself. The result? A fruitless imitation of what God intended for life and flourishing. Two males cannot conceive a child. Two females cannot conceive a child. A ‘trans’ man cannot produce a sperm. A ‘trans’ woman cannot produce egg. Reality does not bend.
And yet the push continues. The Australian Law Reform Commission is now considering whether to loosen Australia’s ban on commercial surrogacy to make it easier for male couples to procure children. If a homosexual relationship cannot produce children, then surrogates must be made more accessible — even paid for. This is the commodification of human life, and it is grotesque. Australia is rewriting creation to satisfy the desires of adults – not the rights of children. And the root of this problem goes back further than many realise. In 2013, then-Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus inserted ‘gender identity’ into the Sex Discrimination Act. This was an Act originally designed for females but suddenly, any man who identified as a “woman” received the same protections. This legal fiction, that a male can be a “woman”, became a protected category. The idea that biological sex doesn’t matter took root, and that idea now shapes everything.
The Tickle v Giggle case cemented this new legal definition. A male who identifies as a “woman” sued a female-only app for excluding him…and won. The court ruled that Tickle was disadvantaged relative to other females on the grounds of his trans identity. So much for protecting women. In response to recent questioning by Senator Claire Chandler, Australia’s Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Dr Anna Cody, couldn’t even answer, “What is a biological male?” When our own Commissioner has no regard for biological realities, national sanity is broken. Because of this legal falsehood, women are losing every protected space: bathrooms, changing rooms, prisons, sporting clubs, shelters, school camps, accommodation. Everywhere. You see it now in every government form, census questions, health, education, workplaces, and public policy. It appears in rainbow-washed institutions insisting reproductive organs have nothing to do with sex. “Pick your gender: male, female, non-binary, other.”
The fallout is truly devastating. Children are being led into confusion, puberty blockers, sterilisation, and irreversible harm. Women are being placed at risk by men in female-only spaces including in prisons and school camps. Parents, teachers, and even principals are being punished for speaking biological truth. In NSW, a mother was fined $95,000 for vilification for defending women’s sport. Enough is enough. The Sex Discrimination Act must be restored to its original purpose: protect women – real women. This is where the deception stops, and truth begins. Christians must speak clearly, confidently, and unapologetically the Biblical truth of creation: “Male and female He created them.” This truth is reality. This truth is the foundation of human life. And abandoning it is dangerous and wrong. Because the simplest truth remains the most profound: Male + Female = Life

What Michelle failed to mention is the fact that Australia will be the recipient of an increase in God’s judgement as a result of this foolishness. Australia has been under God’s judgement for sometime but it will only escalate. Also, we are fast approaching the Biblical prophesied time of Jesus return. There were 300 plus prophecies of Jesus first coming to Earth that were fulfilled to the letter so it is reasonable to conclude that the 2000 prophecies of Jesus second coming will also be fulfilled. These prophecies are playing out in our day. They are mostly Israel centric and the first major prophecy fulfilled was Israel being miraculously reborn in 1948, over 70 years ago now. What the world needs to be made aware of is the fact that prior to Jesus return God pours out His wrath upon the unrepentant with the Trumpet and Bowl judgements of Revelation 8 & 16. The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. They did not repent of their deeds.” Revelation 16:8-11

Since then Iran with its proxies Hamas. Hezbollah and Houthi rebels are the main protagonists. The Bible has Turkey leading the way in a war against Israel and recent events support this prophecy playing out in the new future. 4, end times signs such as church apostasy, persecution of Christians, lawlessness, antisemitism are all evident in our day.
“Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land.And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms. They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But I will save them from all the backslidings in which they have sinned and will cleanse them, and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.” Ezekiel 37:21-23
In an upscale Tel Aviv neighbourhood – the kind filled with joggers, beach bars and hotels that attract wealthy holidaymakers – Tahli Engel, formerly of Melbourne, tells a story you hear a lot in Israel, and it captures one of the most important, but least understood, perspectives emerging from the wars triggered by October 7. “Life in Melbourne, absolutely, was very good,” she says from her living room. Hillel Weinstein, a former university student in Melbourne who moved to Israel last year, puts it bluntly: “I’d see encampments and huge signs saying ‘Free Palestine’ all over university property. I’m like, if this is where I’m studying, this is not a place that I want to be at.” Here, he walks the streets feeling “as safe as I’ve ever been. A lot of people have moved from around the globe to Israel, especially because they just don’t feel safe where they are”. Consider the irony for a moment. Young Jews are fleeing ostensibly peaceful Western democracies for a country that just fought a multi-front war and endured the sight of buildings being toppled by Iranian hypersonic missiles, because they feel more secure walking the streets of Tel Aviv than Brunswick or Newtown.

Joel was God’s spokes person during the reign of Joash (835-796 BC) over the southern kingdom of Judah. Joel stresses the sovereign power of God over nature and shows how God uses nature to get the attention of the people. When an ominous black cloud descended upon the land of Judah – dreaded locusts, Joel understood that it was God’s terrible judgement on the House of Judah for sin. In a matter of hours , every living green thing had been stripped bare. Likewise we should understand that when terrible floods and fires descend upon our land that it may well be the judgement of the Lord for sin, e.g. transgenderism, LGBTQ issues, gay marriage and godless laws.
For us Joel is an important book, because God showed him that as terrible as His judgement was with the locust plague it was by comparison nothing compared with God’s future judgements during “The Day of the Lord“. It will be a time when God not only destroys His enemies but He also brings unparalleled blessings to those who faithfully obey Him.
