Note that God calls them to repent and I am sure many will and they can be a witness even during the period God pours out His wrath with the Trumpet and Bowl judgements. The tribulation, even great tribulation is not the wrath of God. God allows the tribulation to purify His church.

AUSTRALIA’S LEGAL STSTEM NOW OPERATES ON A WORLDVIEW HOSTILE TO CHRISTIANITY

Recall Andrew Thorburn. He lost his job not because he did anything wrong, but because a new worldview has quietly captured Australia’s public square. The Australian Christian Freedom Index shows just how far that capture has gone.

Last month, the Canberra Declaration led the launch of the Australian Christian Freedom Index, a landmark report documenting the perilous state of Christian freedom in our country.

Among the many stories told in its pages was that of Andrew Thorburn, the one-time CEO of Essendon Football Club whose tenure there lasted a grand total of two days.

The Andrew Thorburn affair is one Australians cannot afford to forget, not least because it illustrates the subtle but powerful effect of worldview on our legal system.

Thorburn had done nothing wrong. There were no complaints about his conduct from staff members, players or fans. He was irresistibly pressured to resign because journalists discovered that he was also on the board of an Anglican church that — shock horror — actually believed what the Bible says about homosexuality and abortion.

Thorburn’s church didn’t even have a reputation for being particularly fiery or outspoken. Journalists had decided to dig through old website archives and had found a few sermons from a decade earlier. Thorburn hadn’t preached those sermons and probably didn’t even know about them. But the media had a story to sell and they didn’t let up until their target was out of a job.

Everyone Has a Worldview

It wasn’t just the media. At a press conference, then-Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews was asked about the views of Thorburn’s church. He said:

Those views are absolutely appalling. I don’t support those views; that kind of intolerance, that kind of hatred. Bigotry is just wrong. All of you know my views on these things. Those sort of attitudes are simply wrong, and to dress that up as anything other than bigotry is just obviously false.

These words from the Premier were reported widely and hung heavy over the Thorburn affair. There’s little doubt Daniel Andrews contributed to Thorburn’s decision to quit.

But notice what Daniel Andrews didn’t say. He didn’t engage with anything the church actually believed — he simply used a bunch of mean words to caricature them.

He didn’t mention that millions of Victorians — the very people he was elected to represent — still believe what Thorburn’s church believes. He didn’t acknowledge that he was calling a significant portion of his own constituents “bigots”.

He didn’t even consider that someone reasonable might see it differently.

More importantly, Daniel Andrews didn’t seem to be aware that he was himself making a moral judgment, nor explain where his standards came from informing that judgment.

In fact — and here’s the key point — Daniel Andrews didn’t seem to realise he had a worldview at all. The Premier was the proverbial fish that was so accustomed to the water that he didn’t realise he was wet.

The Public Square Is Not Neutral

The reality is that every evaluation or choice that we make manifests a worldview. The church Daniel Andrews criticised had a worldview, but so did Daniel Andrews! The problem is that he was so invested in his own view of the world that he didn’t realise he had one. To him, this wasn’t about competing worldviews or competing visions of the good — it was simply a matter of basic decency.

In Daniel Andrews’ mind, his values weren’t values — they were just common sense, and what everyone should obviously believe. And in his mind, Thorburn’s values weren’t values either — they were hatred and bias and bigotry.

The Andrew Thorburn affair illustrated something profoundly important that remains relevant all these years later: There’s no such thing as neutral beliefs or a neutral public square. Everyone has values. Everyone operates from a particular moral framework.

The moral framework Daniel Andrews was operating from — let’s call it the post-Christian creed — it has its own account of what it means to be human, its own beliefs about where authority comes from, its own unforgivable sins, and its own saints and heretics.

In fact, the post-Christian creed is the governing consensus of our entire culture. Universities, the media, the entertainment industry — all of it runs on the assumption that the post-Christian creed is true, neutral and self-evident. And it assumes that the worldview it replaced — namely, Christianity and Christian ethics — is sectarian, biased and ideological.

The Bias in Australia’s Legal System

Neither are Australia’s laws neutral. Our courts and tribunals are not neutral. Our judges and juries aren’t either. Every statute encodes a certain set of values and beliefs.

Moreover, every person operating within the legal system has a certain set of values and beliefs — beliefs like what personhood means, how marriage is defined, what makes a family and whether speech that hurts people’s feelings should be illegal. Beliefs like where and how someone is allowed to practise their faith, where tolerance should start and end, whether a person’s conscience is sacred or if it can be overridden by the state.

These aren’t merely legal questions — they’re philosophical ones. In fact, they’re theological ones, and they always have been.

The people tasked with writing, interpreting and enforcing Australia’s statues are not doing so from a neutral standpoint. They’re taking their own worldviews and beliefs and applying them in the legal arena.

The myth of legal neutrality might be the most powerful myth in modern public life. It’s also very useful — because it allows one worldview to write the rules, enforce them, and punish those who dissent, all the while insisting they’re acting from a position of pure reason and impartiality and self-evident truth.

The War on Common Sense Reaches the Maternity Ward: SA Upper House Passes Birth Certificate Amendment

The South Australian Parliament is set to debate a private members bill that — if passed — will allow a biological man who identifies as a woman to record himself as the “mother” on the child’s birth certificate.

Like me, you’ve had a gutful of ideology overriding common sense in this country. Especially when it comes to sex. Or gender. Or whatever word we’re allowed to use this week for the fairly straightforward question of what a male is and what a female is. But if you’re exhausted by it, don’t expect relief from the political class just yet.

The South Australian Parliament is set to debate a private members bill that — if passed — will allow trans-identifying parents to alter the parental designation on a child’s birth certificate. In plain English: a biological man who identifies as a woman would be able to record himself as the “mother” of his child on that child’s birth certificate. And a biological woman who identifies as a man could be recorded as the “father”.

The Bill, introduced by Greens MLC Rob Simms, has already passed South Australia’s Legislative Council… with support from Labor. It received virtually no media attention.

Naturally, it was all done in the name of inclusivity… And perhaps it was. The trouble with making inclusivity your highest governing principle is that, eventually, language stops describing anything at all. Simple example… If you say that circles and triangles can be recognised as squares, the term square ceases to have any meaning. In the same way, if the South Australian Parliament decides to let any old man — identifying as a woman — be recorded as “mother”, the term mother ceases to have any meaning. Which is fine… except  birth certificate isn’t a choose your own adventure book.

As the Australian Christian Lobby’s South Australian director Ashlyn Vice pointed out to me this week… “A birth certificate is a legal record that documents the biological realities surrounding a child’s birth and parentage.” Indeed. A birth certificate is supposed to document the child’s birth, not the parent’s state of mind at the time of birth. Every child has a mother and a father. I can’t believe the South Australian Parliament need this explained to them. And the purpose of a birth certificate is to accurately record who provided sperm and who provided egg.

A Child’s Birth Certificate… Is about the Child

You know what’s crazy? If Anthony Albanese is watching me right now, he’ll accuse me of waging a culture war for having said what I’ve just said. I get that a father who identifies as a woman wants to be known as mum, rather than dad. But the birth certificate isn’t actually about him. It’s about the child. The birth certificate is also about truth. Objective fact. If we change that, then we change the nature of birth certificates. They cease to be important documents and instead become… commemorate certificates. Issued not to note the birth of a child, but to note the orientation of an adult for whom the newborn serves as a prop.

The South Australian Liberals have said they’ll vote against the legislation. As they ought. Labor won’t vote for it. Will they? Then again, this is a political party whose federal colleagues describe a broken promise as a change of position. So they quite like turning ordinary words into plasticine when it suits.

WHY JESUS COMES A SECOND TIME

“And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” Hebrews 9:27-28

This verse clearly explains the purposes of Jesus two comings to planet Earth, first to deal with the sin problem and the second to save all of those eagerly waiting for Him. But there is also unfulfilled business with the nation God established for His purposes, Israel.

There are about three hundred Biblical prophecies of Jesus first coming but there are about two thousand prophecies of Jesus second coming and Jesus and the glorified Saints ruling and reigning over the nations during Jesus Millennial Kingdom. This makes it clear that God wants us to know and be prepared for Jesus second coming. In Jesus Olivet Discourse he gives us a great deal of information about the tribulation, even great tribulation that Christians will experience as Satan does His utmost to thwart God’s plans.

“As he (Jesus) sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Matthew 24:3

“And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:4-14

When God established Israel as His nation He did it through one man, Abraham and the covenant He made with Abraham and confirmed with His sons Isaac and Jacob has not been fulfilled as yet. Moreover, beginning with Moses, all the OT prophets were shown the end of Israel’s story: Israel will be the lead nation of the world with their Messiah ruling and reigning over all the nations.

Moses told the nation before they went into the promised land that God would drive them out and scatter them for disobedience:

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will soon utterly perish from the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess. You will not live long in it, but will be utterly destroyed. And the Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord will drive you.” Deuteronomy 4:26-27

But God also revealed to them that He would regather them in the last days back to their land which He did in 1948. This was the first of the major prophesied Biblical end times signs.

“But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. When you are in tribulation, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, you will return to the Lord your God and obey his voice. For the Lord your God is a merciful God. He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them.” Deuteronomy 4:29-31

HOW CLOSE ARE WE TO THE ONE WORLD RELIGION?

The Sagrada Familia church, designed by the renowned architect Antoni Gaudi, has been completed after 144 years of construction, culminating in a memorable ceremony led by Pope Leo XIV. The basilica is now the tallest church in the world, featuring 18 towers that symbolize key figures in Christianity, and is celebrated for its stunning architectural design that transforms sunlight into a vibrant display of colours.

An estimated 120,000 people lined the streets around the Sagrada Familia for the event on Wednesday, local time, with streets closed to traffic and a heavy police presence to accommodate the royal couple and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.

The crowds remained after the pope’s mass to watch as the pope inaugurated the basilica’s final Tower of Jesus Christ, which has made it the world’s tallest church. Speaking in Catalan and Spanish, he blessed the tower and its illuminated ceramic cross from outside the basilica, surrounded by bishops craning their mitre-capped heads to look up.

An angelic boy’s choir sang beautifully as a spectacular light show lit up the basilica’s stained glass windows from the inside and fireworks shot off its façade. You need to watch this as it is GLORIOUS.

The service marked the highlight of Pope Leo’s week-long visit to Spain, the first by a pope in 15 years to the once staunchly Catholic European country that, like many others, has experienced secularising trends. Spain legalized same-sex marriage on July 1, 2005, becoming the third country in the world to do so. Law 13/2005 amended the Spanish Civil Code so that marriage carries identical requirements and legal effects regardless of whether the spouses are the same or different sex. That includes full adoption rights, inheritance protections, tax filing options, and survivor pensions.

This video by Dr Steve Turley shows a resurgence in religion around the world but it is happening at the same time as the rejection of God, His Word and His values. Biblical end times prophecies show we are in the end times and can soon expect the appearance of the Antichrist but also the False Prophet and a one world religion. AI IS COMPRESSING THE TIMELINE FOR JOB LOSSES

Every previous wave of technological disruption displaced workers over decades. The industrial revolution took a full generation to restructure labor markets. The transition from agriculture to manufacturing played out over 50 years. Even the internet revolution, which moved fast by historical standards, gave workers roughly 15-20 years to adapt.

AI is compressing that timeline to months.

This week as we reported on Moonshots, Anthropic published data showing that more than 80% of the code merged into their codebase is now written by Claude. Their engineers are shipping 8x as much code per quarter as they were two years ago. On the same day, OpenAI’s head of reinforcement learning told an interviewer they’d “turn AI on AI itself” within six months. The models aren’t just doing work faster. They’re learning to do the work of making themselves better.

A 24-year-old graduating this spring with a computer science degree, $150,000 in student debt, and a plan to become a software engineer is walking into a labor market where AI can already do 76% of open-ended coding tasks successfully, up from 26% just six months ago. That number is not going down.

And software engineering is the canary. Legal research, financial analysis, medical diagnostics, content creation, customer support, consulting, translation, accounting: the list of knowledge-work categories where AI performs at or above entry-level human capability is growing every quarter.

The people this hits first and hardest are not manual laborers. They’re the exact demographic that has driven every revolution in modern history: educated young people who did everything they were told, took on debt to get degrees, and are now discovering that the economy has no use for them.

THE MISSING SAFETY VALVES

Previous generations had escape routes. In 19th-century Europe, disenfranchised young men could emigrate to the Americas. In post-Civil War America, they could go west. In the mid-20th century, expanding government and military provided employment floors. None of those valves exist at the same scale today.

There’s no frontier to absorb millions of displaced knowledge workers. With drones military forces will shrink, not grow. Government employment is contracting in most Western democracies. And the gig economy which once served as a buffer, is itself being automated. (The Gig economy is where a person or business is contracted to complete task-based work for another business or person. Transactions usually happen through a mobile application or website).

Historically, the other safety valve was family formation. Young men with jobs get married, have children, buy homes, and acquire stakes in social stability. Young men without jobs don’t. In every revolution I’ve cited, the inability of young men to marry and start families was a compounding accelerator of rage. Marriage rates in the US for men under 30 are already at historic lows. AI-driven job displacement will push them lower.

One more factor that has no historical precedent: this generation of potentially disenfranchised young men is the most networked in human history. The Arab Spring proved that social media enables radicalization and coordination faster than any government can respond. The tools available now make 2011-era Twitter look primitive.

THE COUNTERARGUMENT AND WHY I’M STILL CONCERNED

The optimist’s case, is that AI will create new jobs faster than it destroys old ones. That has been true of every previous technological revolution. The automobile eliminated horse-related jobs and created millions of new ones. Self driving cars and trucks will decimate jobs. The internet destroyed retail jobs and created the entire digital economy.

AI will generate new categories of work we can’t yet imagine. But the timing matters enormously. If the destruction comes in 2-3 years and the creation takes 10-15, you have a decade-long window where tens of millions of young people in developed economies have no economic pathway. A decade is more than enough time for the pattern to repeat.

Jack Goldstone’s research shows that revolutionary conditions require three elements arriving simultaneously: elite overproduction (too many educated people for too few positions), fiscal crisis (governments unable to fund social programs), and mass mobilization potential (large cohorts of idle young people with the tools to organize). AI could deliver all three within the same compressed timeframe.

WHAT WE NEED TO DO ABOUT IT

This is not a prediction of inevitability. It’s a risk assessment. And the response needs to be proportional to the risk.

First, we need to radically restructure education. Four-year degrees that cost six figures and train people for jobs that AI can do are worse than useless. They’re incendiary. Education needs to move toward human skills that complement AI: judgment, leadership, creativity, physical-world expertise, and entrepreneurship.

Second, we need to accelerate new job creation, not just wait for it to emerge organically. Government policy, corporate investment, and entrepreneurial energy should be directed at identifying and scaling the new categories of work that AI enables, not just the AI itself.

Third, we need honest public conversation about timelines – there is NOT enough public discourse going on regarding this potential outcome. The worst possible outcome is to tell a generation of young people that everything will be fine, hand them diplomas they borrowed $150,000 to earn, and let them discover the truth on their own. That’s how you get revolutions.

The pattern is clear. The demographics are in place. The technology is accelerating. The question is whether we’re smart enough to learn from 400 years of history, or whether we repeat it. Because the change is happening so quickly it is unlikely unbelieving governments will do what is necessary for its people. The Bible reveals where we are in God’s history, as prophesied the world is casting off God and His commandments and persecution of Christians is increasing.

Fortunately, God is still in control and we know Jesus returns to restore righteousness but before He does, God has told us that lawlessness will increase and a time of tribulation will exist for those that love God and choose to keep His commandments.

“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.” Matthew 24:7-12

Fortunately, Jesus continues with: “But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:13-14

We know from Revelation that in the “last days” God not only sends two witnesses from heaven to be His witnesses on Earth, but He also sends three angels with the following messages:

ANGEL 1. “And he said with a loud voice, Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.” Revelation 14:7

ANGEL 2. ” Another angel, a second, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who made all nations drink the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality.” Revelation 14:8

ANGEL 3. “And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.” Revelation 14:9-10

Australia’s Christian freedoms are under quiet but measurable threat — and a landmark new index is sounding the alarm with evidence, urgency, and a 42-point blueprint for action.

The Australian Christian Freedom Index is the first systematic audit of its kind — measuring the legislative, institutional, social and cultural pressures on Christian belief and expression across Australia. Drawing on documented cases, a review of the statute books across nine jurisdictions, and the responses of more than 10,000 Australians, the inaugural 2025 report maps where freedom is being eroded, which institutions are most at risk, and what can be done about it.

Helping with the inaugural launch, Australian Christian Lobby CEO Michelle Pierce described its findings as both “sobering and concerning.” “Workplaces emerged as one of the most hostile environments, particularly in education and healthcare.” For example, “only 8% of Christians working in healthcare felt safe to openly share their Christian beliefs.” In other words, Peirce said, “92% of Christians working in healthcare don’t feel safe to do so.” “This is not about Christians claiming victimhood. This is about defending the freedoms that allow our society to flourish.” Such as, the ACL boss said, “Freedom of belief, freedom of speech, freedom of conscience and freedom of association.” “We constantly hear that tolerance and inclusivity are the highest of Australian values, but increasingly, inclusivity seems to stop at the point of including Christians.” In effect, Pierce argued, there is something really wrong if Christians cannot speak freely, in a free society, without fear of “intimidation, lawfare or professional punishment.” Noting the 42 recommendations, Pierce explained that this is why the Australian Christian Freedom Index’s report exists. As such, she continued, the ACFI is asking for “conscience protections for medical professionals, and the restoration of religious hiring protections for faith-based institutions.” Pierce added that the coalition is asking for “reforms to anti-discrimination and conversion therapy laws, and positive protections of fundamental freedoms in Australian law.” This could be through a referendum to attach a bill of rights to the constitution, or through a “freedoms act.” “Freedom,” Peirce concluded, “is not a threat to social cohesion. It is the foundation of it.”

THE FUTURE OF THE GAZA STRIP REVEALED IN ZEPHANIAH

It is amazing to see what God reveals to Zephaniah about the future of Gaza.

“Gather together, yes, gather, O shameless nation, before the decree takes effect —before the day passes away like chaff—
before there comes upon you the burning anger of the Lord, before there comes upon you the day of the anger of the Lord.
Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the anger of the Lord. For Gaza shall be deserted, and Ashkelon shall become a desolation; Ashdod’s people shall be driven out at noon, and Ekron shall be uprooted.” Zephaniah 2:1-4

Ashkelon, Ashdod, and Ekron were three of the five major cities (the Philistine Pentapolis) in ancient Philistia, along with Gaza and Gath. Hence this prophecy is about the land now called the Gaza Strip.

It appears this prophecy is about the end times: “before the “Day of the Lord“. It clearly tells us that Gaza will be deserted and in the following verse that the Palestinians (Philistines) are destroyed.

“Woe to you inhabitants of the seacoast, you nation of the Cherethites! The word of the Lord is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines; and I will destroy you until no inhabitant is left.” Zephaniah 2:5

The Cherethites are often described as a Philistine clan, subgroup, or closely related people living along the seacoast in the “land of the Philistines.”

Moreover, it is clear from the next verses that Gaza will become the property of Judah and it will be pastureland in Jesus Millennial Kingdom (http://www.millennialkingdom.net).

“And you, O seacoast, shall be pastures, with meadows for shepherds and folds for flocks. The seacoast shall become the possession of the remnant of the house of Judah, on which they shall graze, and in the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down at evening. For the Lord their God will be mindful of them and restore their fortunes.” Zephaniah 2:6-7
