END TIMES FAMINES AND PESTILENCES

Right now, farmers across the world can’t get enough fertilizer for their crops…

According to Bloomberg:

“Expensive fertilizers are just one of many factors that have driven food prices to a record. In response, rice farmers across Asia are scaling back usage of the nutrients, threatening harvests of a staple that feeds half the world. The repercussions could be huge: The International Rice Research Institute predicts that yields could drop 10% in the next season, causing a loss of 36 million tons of rice, or the equivalent of feeding 500 million people.

In the Olivet Discourse Jesus gave us many signs that would precede His second coming and famines were a significant sign mentioned in the three gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.Mark 13:8 & Matthew 24:7

Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. But before all this, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you,Luke 21:10-12

Famine knocking at the door of 41 million worldwide, World Food Programme (WFP) warns

WFP said 584,000 people are already experiencing famine-like conditions in Ethiopia, Madagascar, South Sudan and Yemen.

Nigeria and Burkina Faso are also of particular concern as they have pockets where famine-like conditions are present.

“In Somalia in 2011, 260,000 people died of hunger – and by the time the famine was actually declared – half of that number had already died,” Mr. Beasley of WFP recalled. “We can’t debate the numbers to death when people need our help now.”

Yemen, South Sudan and northern Nigeria top the list of the 20 countries, and are facing catastrophic levels of acute hunger.  Some families in areas in South Sudan and Yemen are already experiencing starvation and death, or are at risk of starvation.

While most of the affected countries are in Africa, the report said hunger is set to rise steeply in most regions of the world.

HOW TO STAND STRONG IN THE END TIMES

We are witnessing shakings that disrupt virtually every life, disrupting the world, setting cities on fire, changing governments, and ushering in an agenda that wars against God’s people. Is there a way to stand strong and immovable through it all? Jonathan Cahn tells us how to find it – and live it.

There is no doubt in my mind that God is using Jonathan Cahn to alert the church to what God is doing in line with end times Biblical prophecy. Regardless of what Satan does to deceive the world when the Antichrist comes on the scene, our hope must be in the fact that God is in control of history. Satan’s time of controlling the world is coming to an end. Make sure you are on the winning side.

PROPHESIED END TIMES FAMINES AND PESTILENCES

A perfect storm of several problems is decimating the world food supply. It’s been called the biggest food crisis since World War Two. The World Food Program estimates that 285 million people face starvation. The head of the World Food Program, former South Carolina Governor David Beasley, says the world food supply already faced a catastrophe before the war in Ukraine.  “We’re so short of funds already, and now with Ukraine, we’ve got 50% rations for people in Yemen. I’ve just cut 50% rations for eight million people. Niger, 50% rations, Chad 50% rations. And 50% don’t have anything, those who are in extreme need.”

Famine threatens 1.4 million children U.N. warns

The war in Ukraine is only the latest of many problems to hit the world food supply. Food costs were already high from soaring inflation and fuel costs. Fertilizer prices were 40 percent higher than before the invasion of Ukraine, which, along with high fuel prices, makes it too expensive for some farmers to plant crops this year. Beasley said.

In the U.S., Americans have seen food costs rise 10 percent over last year, the steepest increase in 40 years, which experts say will lead to an increase in malnutrition among America’s poor. In the developing world, however, it’s become a matter of life and death. War in Ukraine Takes One-Third of the World’s Wheat Off the Table. Russia and Ukraine together produce almost one-third of the world’s wheat. But Ukrainian farmers have been sidelined and Russian exports have been sanctioned. Beasley says.

Rev. Eugene Cho, president, and CEO of Bread For the World says the U.S. needs to do more to fight global hunger, asking Congress to approve $3.8 billion in supplemental emergency funding. Cho said, “Let’s just talk about Afghanistan, 98% of the population does not have enough food to eat. One million children under the age of five could die from malnutrition by the end of this year. In Yemen, eight million people are in dire need of food.”

Even Africa’s wealthiest nation faces a food crisis, according to Nigerian Agri-investor Imal Silva, who told us a majority of Nigerians are facing malnutrition. “Those that are most affected are the majority in the lower and middle class of society. Those that were living below a particular level of income would feel the pinch and that’s quite a large majority,” Silva said. Beasley warns that the world’s food crisis could spiral into a political crisis. “You’ve got catastrophe coming to catastrophe,” Beasley said. “So don’t be surprised if you don’t see destabilization in several nations over the next six to nine months.”

When the disciples asked Jesus when He would return to earth to put things right, He gave them many signs and warnings. Famines and pestilences (Covid and its many variants) were among these signs.

Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?Matthew 24:3

Then He said to them, Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes and in various places famines and pestilences. Luke 21:10-11

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.Matthew 24:6-8

FAMINES AND PESTILENCES IN THE “END TIMES”

End times signs given by Jesus include famines and pestilences. Both are occurring in our times along with so many of the other signs such as apostasy and lawlessness.

Then he (Jesus) said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes and in various places famines and pestilences.

“And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Matthew 24:12-13

The Good News is that churches are rising to the occasion providing opportunities to complete the Great Commission.

Extreme poverty and food insecurity are on the rise.

In 2020, Oxfam and The World Food Bank predicted that half a billion people would be pushed into extreme poverty and a “famine of biblical proportions” would be ushered in by the pandemic. Today, we’re seeing those predictions play out:

  • 296 million people worldwide are going without food — a statistic that’s up 111 million from April 2020.
  • 56% of the world’s children now lack access to education or health services (up from 47%).
  • And the estimated number of COVID-induced poor is expected to rise from 119 million to 124 million.

World Relief President and CEO Myal Greene reflected, “The pandemic is basically undoing a decade’s worth of human development around the world in terms of progress in getting people out of poverty. We’re certainly seeing that in many of the communities where we work.”

COVID-19 is disproportionately impacting those in already vulnerable situations.

When Mount Nyiragongo erupted in DR Congo earlier this year, coronavirus was not the first concern on anyone’s mind. “When people were fleeing, nobody cared about COVID-19 preventive measures,” said Jean Nyandwi, World Relief DR Congo Country Director.

“After the people who had fled returned back to the city, the government announced the third wave of COVID-19,” he continued. “We believe partly this volcanic eruption may have increased COVID-19 cases.”

While the volcanic eruption may have increased people’s exposure to the virus, a lack of access to vaccines, as well as vaccine hesitancy, is most certainly putting women and men at a greater risk of contracting the virus.

In a country that already faces one of the world’s worst food security crises, vulnerability to one crisis made increased vulnerability to the COVID crisis inevitable.

And these stories of increased vulnerability are not unique to DR Congo. Across the globe, those in vulnerable situations are experiencing outsized impacts of the pandemic.

“It’s making the poor poorer,” Nyandwi said. “When people get sick, they have to pay for their hospital bills. Burials also cost money. Many people have lost their jobs. Prices have increased for basic commodities, particularly in the city of Goma, and likely this is true for the rest of the country as well.”

And it’s not just the poorest of the poor who are being affected.

When we talk about the poorest of the poor, we’re referring to those who live on less than $2 a day. That number is increasing by several hundred million people globally, and that is significant.

But, as Greene mentioned in a recent interview, “other tiers of poverty are also increasing as people are moving down the scale of development. We’ve had to do food distributions among middle-income populations where we haven’t typically had to do such activities before.

This was the case in Cambodia where an April lockdown affected people like Grandma Phyn Phally who lives in Phnom Penh province. Like many small business owners, Phun Phally relies on daily market sales to afford food and basic necessities. Job losses and decreased incomes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have made it harder for people like her to afford these necessities, and this latest round of shutdowns only intensified the fragile situation.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the government to limit travel during this time, so I and my family members are unable to go out and do business and earn money,” Phun Phally said. “Because our family owns a small business, we don’t have as much money to spend over such a lengthy period of time. That is something we are very concerned about.”

Churches and local communities are being equipped to respond.

In Cambodia, World Relief partnered with local churches to supply and distribute food relief packages to the neediest households in Phnom Penh. Grandma Phun Phally was one of the recipients.

Thank God. He heard our plea and answered it,” she said. “A food shipment from WRC, our church’s partner, was another blessing. This package is extremely beneficial to us in continuing to fight through this difficult period…Pray for everyone to come out on top in this difficult situation.

In total, World Relief Cambodia gave $20,000 in grants, which funded food relief packages for 1,378 families.

World Relief continues to reach local communities across the globe with accurate COVID-19 prevention messages. Thanks to a $2.3 million grant from USAID, this work is expanding in DR Congo, Kenya, Malawi and Rwanda.

Churches and faith leaders are being equipped and mobilized to rally their congregations and communities around infection prevention efforts including supplying community members with cloth masks, handwashing soap, and other community care supplies while also providing accurate information about COVID-19 vaccines.

Faith leaders, who are often seen as trustworthy authorities in local communities, are playing a key role in accelerating equitable access to and widespread use of COVID-19 vaccinations and prevention measures.  God often uses catastrophes for His purposes. COMING ECONOMIC CRASH

Are we watching the governments and global billionaires take advantage of Covid 19 and the chaos it is causing to the economies of the world to introduce global control and eventually a one-world government. The World Economic Forum (WEF) is already talking about The Great (Financial) Reset.

“The pandemic represents a rare but narrow window of opportunity to reflect, reimagine, and reset our world to create a healthier, more equitable, and more prosperous future” — Klaus Schwab, WEF

Are supply shortages, not enough workers, and hyper-inflation we see now going to cause the economic collapse seen in the 3rd Seal of Revelation? The black horse of Revelation 6.

“A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius,” Revelation 6:6

When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a black horse! And its rider had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius (a day’s wages), and three quarts of barley for a denarius… ” Revelation 6:5-6

Are we headed toward that biblical event? What is causing these effects like the worker shortage and what can a Christian do about them right now to PREPARE for the Third Seal? Watch this episode of Last Days Breaking News with Nelson Walters to find out.

FERTILIZER AND “THE FOURTH HORSEMAN OF THE FOOD APOCALYPSE”

The title of this recent article by Luke Burgess in the Newsletter of the Investment Service, The Outside Club caught my attention. “The Fourth Horseman of the Food Apocalypse“. I immediately thought Luke Burgess has got it wrong, it is the Third Horseman of the Apocalypse that represents famine and pestilence. In fact, I recently put up the post THE THIRD SEAL (Third Horseman) OF REVELATION INDICATES A WORLD FOOD SHORTAGE.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 47f1ba3581de711c573e7dbbff101821.jpg
A QUART OF WHEAT FOR A DAYS WAGES & THREE QUARTS OF BARLEY FOR A DAYS WAGES

The Fourth Horseman is on “a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.” Revelation 6:8

So in fact Luke is correct, the Third Horseman introduces famine but the Fourth Horseman is death by famine, pestilence, and the sword.

Death by famine in 2022?

Luke’s article reveals a lot of what will cause the coming world food shortage so is worth reproducing here.

What Is Driving Food Prices Higher?

The first thing we need to consider about the price of food is it is connected to an unimaginable number of constantly changing variables. The price of food is not increasing for one reason, or two reasons, or a dozen reasons. The price of food is increasing for a million different reasons, all of which are constantly changing. Still, some factors play a much larger role in food prices than others.

The price of food in 2021 has been driven higher by three main culprits:

  • rising energy prices,
  • labor shortages, and
  • supply chain issues.

Each of these factors has contributed to some degree to your higher grocery bills. And each is expected to continue adding to your grocery bill with no relief in sight for energy, labor, or supply chain problems. But there’s a FOURTH factor that’s set to be a major driver of food prices in 2022 — one that only very few people are taking into serious account right now.

Fertilizer: The Fourth Horseman of the Food Apocalypse

The price of fertilizers absolutely skyrocketed in 2021.

DTN, a world leader in agricultural intelligence and analytics, identifies eight major fertilizers in the market. According to DTN, FIVE of the eight major fertilizers on the market have more than doubled in price during 2021.

DTN’s eight major fertilizers are:

  • DAP (diammonium phosphate) — up 71% for the year
  • MAP (monoammonium phosphate) — up 68% for the year
  • Potash — up 105% for the year
  • Urea — up 123% for the year
  • 10-34-0 — up 51% for the year
  • Anhydrous ammonia — up 138% for the year
  • UAN-28 — up 161% for the year
  • UAN-32 — up 142% for the year

With global food prices still set to continue soaring higher, we can expect world food insecurity to become much, much worse in 2022.

For the United States and other wealthy Western nations, the global food crisis will be extremely painful. But for some nations, it might mean complete collapse. You see, here in the U.S. we spend about 10% of our income on food. If the price of food doubled, we’d be still only spending about 20% of our income on food. Heck, the price of food could triple and as long as you could make spending cuts somewhere else, you could probably afford it. But that’s because you live in the United States, where food is relatively cheap.

In very poor and developing nations like Nigeria, Cameroon, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, the average person spends 50% to 60% of their income on food — and that’s the average person. According to SB Morgen Intelligence, Nigerians who earn less than the government-mandated minimum wage spend 95% of their income on food consumption. So what happens if the price of food doubles in those nations? Well, pretty simple — the average citizen can’t afford to buy food. And what happens then?

Well, you know the answer… Civil unrest… rioting… destruction… death. Can it get any worse? Yeah, it can. Just look at what’s happening in Afghanistan right now.

The Taliban regime that retook Afghanistan in 2021 does not have funds to procure food items and other essentials. This has created such an unprecedented surge in food prices and left the Afghan people still in the country desperate — so desperate that last week The Hindustan Times reported scores of hungry Afghans were selling their own children to survive.

The 2022 global food crisis will touch the lives of every single person on the planetand with a deeper impact than any crisis of the past few decades.

You’re going to see the highest food prices of your life.

You’re going to see empty grocery store shelves again as people begin to hoard.

You’re going to see civil unrest, wars, death, and destruction worldwide.

I have seen this crisis coming for months. Back in August, I wrote an article for Outsider Club titled “Brace for Civil Unrest as Food Prices Skyrocket.” And for most of that time since, I have been investigating how to best protect Outsider Club readers from this food crisis.

These are the prophesied “last days” before Jesus second coming to earth. God has given us plenty of prophecies warning of what will precede Jesus’ return so we can have a sense of urgency to complete the Great Commission and the specific tasks He has assigned to each of us.

THE THIRD SEAL OF REVELATION INDICATES A WORLD FOOD SHORTAGE

Are we watching the governments and global billionaires intentionally trying to crash the economy? Are supply shortages, not enough workers, and hyper-inflation we see now going to cause the economic collapse seen in the 3rd Seal of Revelation?

DANIEL 8 PROPHECY UNFOLDING IN THESE LAST DAYS

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Thursday that Israel’s capital city of Jerusalem still belongs to Turkey.

Turkey’s Erdogan says Jerusalem ‘is our city’
Erdogan lays pre-WW1 Ottoman claim to Israel’s capital, says “it is our city.”

In a speech marking the opening of the fall session of Turkey’s parliament, covered by Turkish media, Erdoğan began with harsh criticism of Armenia for the armed conflict that broke out this week with Azerbaijan and their mutual claims to the Nagorno-Karabakh region. However, his comments shifted closer to home and he made the surprising remark that Jerusalem still belongs to Turkey.

“The Jerusalem issue is not a geopolitical problem for us. Jerusalem is our city, a city from us,” Erdogan said, referring to the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in World War One.

“In this city [Jerusalem] that we had to leave in tears during the first world war, it is still possible to encounter traces of the Ottoman resistance,” Erdogan said. “We accept it an honor on behalf of our country and nation to express the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people on every platform.”

The Ottoman Empire controlled Jerusalem for 400 years until its defeat at the hands of the Western allies who divided up the former empire, with many of its former provinces becoming independent Arab countries. During the war the Ottomans also carried out the Armenian genocide, murdering some 1.5 million Christian Armenians – enmity that remains and led to Erdogan’s condemnation of Armenia.

As I have posted before we are seeing the prophecy of Daniel 8 developing, with Turkey as the goat nation beginning to exert its desire to re-establish the Ottoman Empire. The Ram nation Iran is already pushing west, north, and south exactly as prophesied and it is only a matter of time before Turkey crushes Iran.

“And the goat ( Turkey, Sunni) had a conspicuous horn between his eyes. He came to the ram (Iran, Shia) with the two horns, which I had seen standing on the bank of the canal, and he ran at him in his powerful wrath. I saw him come close to the ram, and he was enraged against him and struck the ram and broke his two horns. And the ram had no power to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled on him. And there was no one who could rescue the ram from his power.” Daniel 8:6-7

So many Biblical prophecies of the end times are manifesting now that it is obvious to most Bible believing Christians that we are living in the last days. Recorded in Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus told us that in the “last days” there would be a great falling away (apostasy) in the church. Many of the institutional churches now accept homosexuality, gay marriage and other heresies. Other end times signs such as people will be lovers of self, lawlessness will abound, pestilence, famine and other so called natural disasters are all evident. Jesus said all of these things must take place before He comes to take His church to heaven prior to God pouring out His wrath on a world that totally rejects God the Father and Jesus, His Son.

LOCUSTS PLAGUES NOW DEVASTATING PAKISTAN AND INDIA

I have written several posts on locusts plagues and “end times” famines and pestilences devastating Africa and parts of the Middle East and now we are reading “Tens of millions are on the verge of facing massive food shortages on the continent of Asia after a new plague of locusts has ravaged a path of destruction across India and Pakistan according to a report from The Express.

And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.Matthew 24:7

PAKISTAN: According to the report, In Pakistan, a national emergency has just been declared after an outbreak of locusts’, of “Biblical Proportions has reportedly wreaked havoc across farmland in Eastern Punjab, southern Sindh, and southwestern Baluchistan provinces. Meanwhile, In western and central India up to 125,000 acres of crops have been completely destroyed during the worst outbreak the country has faced in decades.

Pakistan declares national emergency over locust swarms | News ...
Pakistan’s government declared a national emergency

INDIA: According to the Bhagirath Choudhary, director of the New Delhi-based South Asia Biotechnology Centre, an agriculture think-tank said: “We have never, ever seen what we have in the last six months in India – never in the history.” According to a shocking report from National Geographic, a desert locust can consume its entire body weight in a day – as a result, such a swarm would decimate 423 million pounds of crops.

UN REPORT: Then we have a report from the United Nations (UN) that estimates that a swarm of locusts can contain anywhere between 40-80 million of these insects and is capable of consuming the same amount of food in a day as three million people. The scale of this devastation has forced officials from India and Pakistan to work together to combat the outbreak. The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation has described the danger posed by the swarm of locusts as “an extremely alarming and unprecedented threat” and fear the devastation could endanger the food security and livelihoods of around 25 million people.

UN WARNS MILLIONS COULD DIE OF MULTIPLE FAMINES

Surely, Christians at least, must now recognise we are living in Biblical “end times”. The famines, pestilences, economic hardships and apostasy (churches compromising with the world’s values) evident in the world match exactly the signs Jesus gave His disciples in the Olivet Discourse of the time before His return to rescue His saints, prior to pouring out His wrath on an unbelieving world.

The UN warns that millions could die in ‘”multiple famines of biblical proportions” in pandemic. Note the use of the word biblical. Look what else Jesus said Christians can look forward to during the time before His return; persecution, betrayal even death. Pastors are you preparing the church to be disciples and part of preaching the gospel of the kingdom to all nations despite the coming tribulation?

“And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:7-14

An estimated 300,000 people could begin starving to death daily in “multiple famines of biblical proportions” within months amid the coronavirus pandemic, warned head of the World Food Program David Beasley.

Describing the coronavirus pandemic as “the worst humanitarian crisis since World War II” in a presentation to the United Nations Security Council Tuesday, Beasley warned that the number of people suffering from hunger could go from 135 million to more than 250 million and urgent action was needed, especially when it comes to vulnerable populations in conflict-driven countries.

“If we can’t reach these people with the life-saving assistance they need, our analysis shows that 300,000 people could starve to death every single day over a three-month period,” Beasley said.

Remember, most of these countries are already suffering from unprecedented locust plagues.
