WHY THE CHURCH WON’T ESCAPE THE TRIBULATION

What is the tribulation and will Christians go through it?

In this video, Sean McDowell and Dr Alan Hultberg dig into the biblical case for a post-tribulation view of the end times. Dr Hultberg is editor of the book: “Three Views on the Rapture: Pretribulation, Prewrath, or Posttribulation” (Counterpoints: Bible and Theology).

Hultberg traces the concept of tribulation from Daniel through Jesus Olivet Discourse, Paul’s letters, and the book of Revelation — showing why the church will not be raptured out before the tribulation, but preserved through it. Jesus said we will be taken out before God pours out His wrath upon the Earth but that occurs with the Trumpet and Bowl judgements that commence with the trumpet blast at the opening of the seventh seal. It is at the sixth seal we see the cosmic signs that Jesus said would precede His coming on the clouds to rapture His Saints. It is also at the sixth seal that it says the great day of God’s wrath has come:

“calling to the mountains and rocks ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?” Revelation 6:16

It is shortly after the seventh seal that John sees the multitude of raptured Saints in heaven standing before the throne of God.

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Revelation 7:9

WHERE ARE WE IN THE END TIMES ACCORDING TO JESUS?

Where are we in the end times according to Jesus? Most don’t know that Jesus was very specific about WHEN things will happen and that most will be UNPREPARED for His return. It is amazing the amount of detail Daniel was given about the events that will unfold at the time of the end.

“But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase” Daniel 12:4

The Parable of the Fig Tree (Luke 21:29-33) which Jesus told the disciples, when they asked about the end times and when He will return, reveals that those born at the time of Israel’s rebirth as a nation in 1948, they will see Jesus return. The miraculous re-establishment of Israel as a nation was the first major end-times prophecy that was fulfilled. Most of the other end times prophecies are based on the fact Israel as a nation exists.

WHERE ARE WE IN THE BIBLICAL END TIMES?

Has the Rider of the White Horse from Revelation 6 been identified, who is it, and when does he ride? And by extension has the timing of the Tribulation also been identified. Does the White Horse happen at the same time as the Covenant with the “Many”? What do the symbols of the white colour, the bow, and the crown all mean?

Revelation 6:1-2 The rider of the white horse. What do these symbols mean? Is the white horse a real horse or is it spiritual? Is the rider also spiritual, a spiritual being. He has a bow but no arrows. Is it a covenant? A peace covenant? A false peace covenant? The rider also has a crown. Also a sign of peace. He shall make a covenant with the many. What does all of this mean?

Will the UN timing of their Pact for the Future on September 2024 which fits with Rosh Hashana be the timing of the start of the final seven years of the 70th Week of Daniel?

MAJOR SIGN THAT PRECEDES THE RAPTURE

“Then I looked when the Lamb opened the sixth seal, and a huge earthquake took place; the sun became as black as sackcloth made of hair, and the full moon became blood-red, and the stars in the sky fell to the earth like a fig tree dropping its unripe figs when shaken by a fierce wind. The sky was split apart like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place. Then the kings of the earth, the very important people, the generals, the rich, the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who is seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?”” (Revelation 6:12–17)

Ryan Habbena does a great job of unpacking the “end times” Scriptures showing that the “celestial signs” as revealed at the sixth seal in the Scripture above, by Jesus in the Olivet discourse, by Joel, by Daniel, and by Paul, is the major sign that precedes the rapture of the Saints, first those dead in Christ, and then those that are alive on this earth.

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
