IS REVIVAL SPREADING AMONG SECULAR COLLEGE CAMPUSES IN THE USA?

This is the fourth post on revival being reported on college campuses in the USA. This article was originally published at BreakPoint and was published in Christian Post on March 24th, 2025.

Something remarkable is happening on college campuses around the country. This fall, reports emerged of players taking a strong stand for Christ on the Ohio State and Notre Dame football teams. As it turns out, that was only part of the story. About six months ago, a group of churches organized a worship service on Ohio State’s campus with four football team players scheduled to preach. In a crowd of 800, many responded to the Gospel, including most of the team. They were baptized immediately in tubs brought by the four players for that purpose.

Last month, the team worked with an organization called Unite US to hold another evangelistic meeting on campus. This service attracted 6,500 people, with about 2,000 responding to the altar call, many of whom were baptized in tubs brought to campus in U-Hauls, despite the frigid weather.

Reports are also emerging that this good news is spreading beyond Ohio State. Unite US, an organization of students committed to spreading the Gospel on college campuses has been holding evangelistic events across the country over the past couple of years. At Auburn University, 5,000 people attended, and 200 were baptized. At Florida State, 310 people were baptized, and 1,000 responded to the altar call. At the University of Alabama, 260 were baptized. At the University of Tennessee, 8,000 people attended the rally, and 150 were baptized. At the University of Georgia, about 150 were baptized of the hundreds who responded to the invitation. Overall, the total number of students who responded to an invitation to accept Christ numbers in the thousands.

Historically, a failure to properly follow up with those who respond has been the critical weakness of rally-type evangelism. Unite US carefully walks those who respond through the Gospel to make sure they understand what they are doing. They also work closely with local churches to connect converts with local believers and ministries for follow-up and discipling.

In the parable of the sower, Jesus told of the seed sown in rocky soil. After quickly sprouting up, distractions and opposition cause it to wither. Church community and ongoing discipleship is essential for all believers, but especially for young, new ones. At the Florida State Unite US rally, for example, about 800 of the 1,000 students who came forward filled out a card.

Unite US gives credit not to their own work, but to the Holy Spirit and events that are “saturated in prayer” for the success they’ve had so far. They are also not the only organization reporting success in reaching Gen Z, including students on university campuses.

With so much bad news coming from college campuses in recent years, reports of students open to the Gospel and interested in spiritual conversations are encouraging. Whether this is merely a short-lived fad on a few campuses or part of a real kairos moment revival remains to be seen. But we rejoice in what is happening in the hearts of these students, for the testimonies of Christians willing to go public about their faith, for God’s faithfulness to those who call upon Him, and for His Word that never returns void and always accomplishes what He intends.

And we should pray for those who acknowledged their need of Christ, that their conversions would be genuine as He completes the good work in their hearts and minds that He started. We should pray for revival and for those who have committed to work for it, that God would bless these events and their other efforts with fruit that will last.

8,000 STUDENTS SEEK JESUS IN HUGE KENTUCKY AWAKENING

This is my fourth post on a supernatural Christian awakening that is stirring up once again on American college campuses through Unite US – an evangelistic movement marked by salvations, water baptisms, and worship. Recently at the University of Kentucky, more than 2,000 students responded to the gospel message of Jesus Christ and many took part in spontaneous baptisms. “It’s hard to believe. This keeps happening. It is insane,” said Unite US speaker and founder of IF: Gathering Jennie Allen. Unite US was birthed out of a desire to “lift the name of Jesus.” It all began at Auburn University’s Neville Arena in September 2023 where 5,000 students showed up to worship Jesus and 200 were spontaneously baptized in a nearby lake. And now, the organization hosts massive worship events making waves on college campuses across the country. Collectively, those events have brought in more than 70,000 college students. Their first stop in 2025 was the University of Kentucky, just 30 minutes from Asbury University where the first sparks of a new spiritual awakening were seen among American students in February of 2023.

This time, more than 8,000 students packed Rupp Arena to worship Jesus and to hear a powerful presentation of the Gospel. “Every time they are confessing their sin; they are yelling it out. They are responding to the gospel in herds. Like droves of kids are coming forward to receive Jesus,” said Allen. “We are baptizing kids for an hour and a half. They are giving their lives to Jesus.” “It is only God,” she added. “There is a movement amongst students that you can’t believe. And even when you see it, you can’t believe it!” CBN’s Abigail Robertson was there, and she attests to the almost indescribable move of God that took place on the campus. “I’ve never seen anything like what happened last night. Kids lining up to get baptized in 30-degree weather – it’s truly amazing what’s happening,” she shared. According to the event’s organizers, it is an event that they have been praying about for months. “Our local student team organized weekly prayer gatherings and walked up to 42 miles one Saturday as they prayed over their campus,” the founder and visionary behind Unite US, Tonya Prewett, told CBN News.

“‘Jericho Marches,’ they called these Saturday prayer walks, and we saw walls come down last night,” she added. “We’ve been praying for this night for months, and God met us here again,” reads a post on social media. “We know it’s just the beginning of all He has in store.” Prewett shared a powerful message with the crowd about giving it all to Jesus. “You get so tired of the enemy and his attacks, that you will do anything. Even if it costs everything. Many times, God will use our deepest pain to propel us into our deepest purpose,” she shared. The night ended with hundreds of students making a public declaration for Jesus Christ, followed by water baptisms. And as each person rose out of the cool waters, cheers erupted from the crowd because another life was counted for the Kingdom of God. “He did it again. Except for He did it bigger than He’s ever done it,” said Unite US speaker and Pastor Jonathan Pokluda of Harris Creek Baptist Church in Waco, Texas.

“It was just crazy,” he said. “All the aisles and the altars were just full of people. Literally thousands of college students came forward to give their lives to Jesus. My legs are sore, my arm is sore from baptizing people. And we say thanks to God. Praise be His Name.” Unite US is bucking the claims that GenZ is spiritually apathetic. “I think we’re a generation of critical thinkers, and I think we’re a generation of authenticity, and we’re a generation of vulnerability,” Trosper Buchanan, a junior at UK, said. “I’ve seen and, and experienced firsthand, the death and the depravity that is disguised as the college experience. We’re just taught like this is what fulfills you and then this is life and then we, we take it and it kills us, and we’re like, ‘Well I guess, I guess something’s wrong with me,’” he continued. Dr. Sarah Baldwin, Vice President of Student Life at Asbury University, was at Asbury two years ago when a revival hit the campus that lasted several weeks. She told the outlet that GenZ is waking up to their true identity in Christ. “The students are recognizing that like, ‘no, this is what I was designed for; this is the purpose that was set aside for me, this is the life… this is the love that Jesus has for me.’”

GOD IS AT WORK ON UNIVERSITY CAMPUSES IN THE USA

This report on an amazing revival at Ohio State University is just one of a number of reports on God at work in American universities that I have posted in February. The first was on 15/02/2025, American Teenagers Open to Jesus and the second on 18/02/2025, Is America on the Brink of Another Jesus Revolution

The organizers said nearly 2,000 Ohio State University students made decisions to commit to following Jesus Christ during a massive campus revival event this week . The event, held at The Schott sports arena, drew a crowd of over 6,500 students.

At Ohio State, the attendees participated despite the chilling temperatures, which dipped into the teens. In an extraordinary display of commitment, students were baptized in the backs of U-Haul trucks parked at the site, CBN News reported.

On social media, Unite US founder Tonya Prewett expressed awe at the spiritual movement unfolding on college campuses.

“We’ve been in awe of how God has already been moving on this campus over the past year, and He met us here again tonight,” she posted on Instagram. “Over 6,500 students gathered in The Schott to lift the name of Jesus, and almost 2,000 responded to the altar call — experiencing the freedom only He can bring.”

Prewett added, “God is moving in this generation, and we know that He’s just getting started!”

Pastor Matt Brown wrote on X, “At many of these campus events, spontaneous baptisms have broken out from those who’ve responded to the gospel. Last night the temps were cold but that didn’t stop students from getting baptized in the back of U-Haul trucks!”

The Unite US movement’s outreach efforts began in September 2023. Since then, more than 70,000 students across various campuses have participated in the ministry’s events, experiencing the transformative power of the Gospel, according to the ministry.

The revival was the second large-scale event organized by the Unite US movement this year, following a similar gathering last week at the University of Kentucky.

In August 2024, a revival at Ohio State was notably attended by members of the university’s football team. The event saw about 60 attendees baptized, with testimonies from notable players like receiver Emeka Egbuka, running back TreVeyon Henderson, defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau and former wide receiver Kamryn Babb.

The OSU student newspaper, The Lantern, noted that about 800 to 1,000 individuals attended, though some estimates suggest the number might have been as high as 2,000.

“It started spontaneous baptisms, and the football guys were the ones baptizing them,” recounted a faculty member to The Christian Post at the time. “Person after person came. You could just see the Spirit moving in people. It was different, nothing I’ve ever experienced before.”

The upcoming schedule for Unite US includes an outreach event at Purdue University in Indiana, set for March 5, where we expect to see more evidence of God moving amongst the young.

TRUMP WAS GIVEN THIS PROPHETIC MESSAGE ONE WEEK BEFORE THE ELECTION

You need to see Jonathan Chan’s message delivered to Trump just one week before the election. It must have shaken Trump to hear Cahn talk about him being God’s chosen person for this moment in history and that even his birth date was proof he was God’s Jehu to restore righteousness to America. The message is delivered with such conviction it shook me.

As well, Jonathan Cahn speaks about the greatest comeback in American political history – Donald Trump winning the presidential election and what it all means. What is this prophetic moment and what will we need to do in the days to come?

Only God can save America, unless we see a revival America will continue down the road of judgement. Will Donald Trump complete God’s agenda for him? Jonathan Cahn had an amazing opportunity to deliver a prophetic message directly to Trump. He shows powerfully, from Scripture that Trump is God’s Jehu. God used Jehu to cleanse the swamp during the reign of King Ahab and Jezebel. Likewise, God is using Trump to cleanse the leadership swamp in America. We need to increase our prayers for Donald Trump so that he will complete God’s commission. Sadly, Jehu did not.

But Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He did not turn from the sins of Jeroboam, which he made Israel to sin.2 Kings 10:31

REMEMBER GOD APPOINTS LEADERS OF NATIONS

With the American presidential election imminent Christians must remember that God appoints leaders for His purposes. The bible records for us how God used the leaders of the most powerful nations: Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of the Babylonian Empire 600 years before Christ. He received a vision from God. Why?

in order that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men. gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of menDaniel 4:17

The Bib;le clearly shows that God will place terrible leaders in positions of great power for the explicit purpose of fulfilling His plans. This was certainly true of the pharoah of the Exodus, whose heart God hardened time, after time. God had Moses tell Pharoah:

Indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.Exodus 9:16

One of the most convincing proofs that the Bible is the inspired word of God is fulfilled prophecy. God inspired the prophet Isaiah to announce 150 years in advance the rise to power of Cyrus the Great to fulfill His purpose to bring God’s people back to their land after 70 years in exile for their rebellion and not keeping 70 Shemitah’s. 2 Chronicles 36:21 says, “The land enjoyed its sabbath rests; all the time of its desolation it rested, until the seventy years were completed in fulfillment of the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah.

Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue nations before him and to loose the belts of kings, to open doors before him that gates may not be closed: “I will go before you and level the exalted places, I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron, I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hoards in secret places, that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who call you by your name. For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen, I call you by your name, I name you, though you do not know me. I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me, that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the Lord, who does all these things.Isaiah 45:1-7

Know that whoever is elected, it is God’s choice for this season: if Trump, maybe a short repreive from escalating judgement; if Harris it will be escalating judgement.

PROOF GOD IS IN CONTROL OF WORLD EVENTS

Jonathan Cahn sits down with Erick Stakelbeck on TBN’s Praise to discuss his book, “The Paradigm“, and how scriptures of ancient Israel point directly to U.S. presidents and those around them.

The video reveals through current events how in control God is of events in our day, down to the day and even hour of them occurring. Jonathan Cahn shows how Bill and Hillary Clinton mirror King Ahab and Jezabel in the days of Elijah. Obama and Trump have also mirrored images of characters in O.T. stories. It is interesting to hear how God downloads revelation to Jonathan. You will be blessed.

GOOD NEWS STORY – ON FIRE FOR GOD

‘On fire for God’: Over 11,000 students attend worship event to pray, celebrate the Lord

Amid ongoing concerns about the younger generation’s religious dedication, thousands of students attended a worship event aimed at equipping youth with the knowledge of Jesus.

The latest Motion Student Conference, which concluded on July 29 at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, hosted over 11,000 students representing 230 churches from 31 states and six countries. In addition, 2,000 volunteers assisted with organizing the event.

Motion is organized by the Church of the Highlands, a congregation with multiple locations throughout Alabama and Georgia. Attendees ranged in age from middle school to college and participated with their youth leaders.

Mark Pettus, president of Highlands College and associate pastor at Church of the Highlands, told The Christian Post in an emailed statement that Motion exists to empower a generation to live out Ephesians 2:10, which states:

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

“It provides an environment where students discover their identity in Christ and set their faith in motion to do the good things He planned for them,” Pettus stated.

During the conference, students had an opportunity to attend sessions featuring speakers and worship band members before breaking into community groups to “unpack” what they learned, Pettus added.

“Motion is more than a conference and more than bands and speakers,” Pettus continued. “It’s about a generation of young people empowered by Jesus, equipped to make a difference, and living out their faith.”

This good news story follows my recent post which reported that about half of Gen Z respondents in the American Bible Society’s State of the Bible USA 2023 study agreed with the statement that “the message of the Bible has transformed my life.” Among Gen Z adults between the ages of 18 and 21, 49% agreed that the Bible had a transformative effect on their lives. That number rose to 52% among Gen Z respondents between the ages of 22 and 26.

As we move towards the last seven years prior to Jesus’ return, Biblical prophecy tells us that persecution of Christians will increase. Tribulation, even great tribulation is ahead when the Antichrist declares himself to be God in the new temple yet to be erected in Jerusalem. I do hope that Highlands College know where we are in Biblical history and therefore end times prophecies so that they prepared these young people for the escalating tribulation that is coming.

GOD IS ALWAYS ON THE MOVE WITH THOSE TOTALLY COMMITTED TO HIM: FATHER, SON & HOLY SPIRIT.

There’s a whole lot of baptism going on these days. Signs of revival have been ongoing around the U.S. since February when a spiritual awakening began at Asbury University. Initially, the awakening seemed to be happening mainly among college students. But the latest evidence is being seen in the form of hundreds of salvations and baptisms of all ages at churches across the country in just the last two weeks alone, not to mention over the past two months. From scores of souls being baptized at churches, to dozens being baptized at one prison, pastors across the U.S. are declaring that God is on the move. Pastor Eric Petree of Citygate Church in Cincinnati, Ohio posted online, “Over the past two weeks at Citygate we have seen 650 people give their life to Jesus, 93 baptized, and yesterday hundreds of people filled the altars seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit.”

Sam Rainer, lead pastor, at West Bradenton Baptist Church in Florida, tweeted on Sunday, “Today we baptized 21 people at the beach. God is good! What a blessing!” At the Crossroads Church Jersey Shore Campus, 17 people professed their faith in Christ through public baptism. At the University of Houston, several students chose to be baptized in a public fountain after a Bible study. And Regent University in Virginia Beach just baptized nine students last week. A revival event was reported in mid-April in Damascus, Maryland at Difference Makers Church with non-stop worship that lasted for several days, with young people dedicating their lives to Christ. Jeremy Tucker posted the following photo, saying, “Worship has been going for 41 hours straight! Young people from churches all over Maryland/Virginia/DC are gathering to unite the bride of Christ for non-stop worship! We thought we’d never see it, but the Holy Spirit is finally breaking out in Maryland! Come, Lord Jesus!”

The GOSPEL is still the power of God to all who believe!” Many are also declaring their freedom in Christ, even behind prison walls. The God Behind Bars ministry reports, “First Baptisms Inside of this Prison in 7 years”. 35 men in a prison in Reno, Nevada were baptized!! What a powerful moment.” A recent conference at Trinity Baptist Church in Lancaster, South Carolina, reports, “Many were saved over the 2 days, and even more were encouraged to Keep on for Jesus!  …at the close of the Service, God moved on my heart to ask for prayer for those teens battling suicidal thoughts and over 20 raised their hands for prayer.”

And the list goes on and on. For weeks, churches have been reporting multiple baptisms, including people spontaneously choosing to join in. Christ Fellowship in Miami recently reported 14 baptisms. For the last few weeks, Faith Assembly Church in Winterville, North Carolina has reported baptism after baptism, week after week. Hope Missionary Church North Campus in Ossian, Indiana reported 31 baptisms just a few weeks ago. And two weeks ago, 14 more baptisms were reported at Revival Church in Modesto, California. A student-led evangelistic event based in Oklahoma quickly became one of the largest outreaches in the country after more than 80,000 people signed up for tickets within a matter of days.  Fill The Stadium (FTS) was a gospel outreach being held at the University of Oklahoma’s football stadium and happening in late April.
