SOCIAL ATOMISATION IS RESHAPING OUR SOCIETIES

 Social atomisation. Most of us would be hard pressed to define it. Yet it is reshaping our society in ways we barely acknowledge — fragmenting our communities, eroding our connections, and leaving us isolated in the midst of billions.

We have become increasingly ‘separated’ from each other, with fewer and fewer experiences in common to unite us. This is social atomisation, the separation into the smallest unit of society — the atom, the individual. What are people to one another? All too often, they are merely vehicles for pleasure for each other, to be picked up and dropped off when no longer needed.

There has always been a generation gap, but today it seems wider than ever. The baby boomers remember the ‘old order,’ Judaeo-Christian values, the nuclear family and lifelong fulfilling careers. Today’s generation, by contrast, are taught about the colonial plundering of vulnerable peoples by Western powers, and about ‘first nations’ to which they have little personal connection — while entertainment and personal happiness are presented as the primary goals of life.

Aaron Lynn5 catalogues the following six causes of social atomisation:

  1. Urbanisation. Fewer of us now live in small rural communities where everyone knows everyone. Because of our vast desert interior, Australia is one of the most urbanised nations in the world with over 80% of us living in coastal cities.
  2. Open borders. Everyone is free to relocate and settle where they want and are no longer required to assimilate under multicultural policies. In fact, they are encouraged to retain their cultural norms under the banner of respect and tolerance.
  3. Demise of the nuclear family. Under the ‘old order,’ cultural norms were passed down through the family, with mentoring, modelling and the teaching of respect for others and the community. Today, so many can only attest to having experienced bad or absent parents, while doing whatever feels right at the time.
  4. Anonymity. Especially online, through the very real fear of identity theft and the reality of hackers stealing our inheritance, we are drilled into being careful to keep our presence online anonymous, and through fear of paedophiles, we never let our children’s faces figure on the internet.
  5. Anomie. Defined as a lack of community-based moral guidance, ‘anomie’ describes a condition of instability caused by the breakdown of social norms, standards, and values. God no longer exists and in control of His Cosmos. Anomie derives from the Greek anomos (lawless), a state of ‘normlessness’ where society fails to provide clear moral guidance, leading to alienation, anxiety, and a lack of purpose.
  6. Technology. The internet puts knowledge into every hand where we no longer need an intermediary, the librarian or the teacher, with the effect of increasing our self-reliance rather than mutual support. Adding to these internet-driven problems, the smartphone carries our insularity everywhere we go. It is said that there is a correlation between the introduction of 4G (2011 in Australia) with a significant drop in birthrate as ‘coupling’ took a big hit in the Western world.

Increasingly we are no longer aware of the society in which we live and work. It is certainly no longer a homogeneous group with a common knowledge base and mutually understood values. We are consumer units to be satisfied. We must prove our individual integrity for every interaction we have with others. Fear is now the driving force, a result of eroded trust and mutual respect.

What Can We Do?

“With eyes wide open to the mercies of God, I beg you, my brothers, as an act of intelligent worship, to give him your bodies, as a living sacrifice, consecrated to him and acceptable by him. Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould, but let God re-mould your minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good, meets all his demands and moves towards the goal of true maturity.” Romans 12;1-2

Let God remould your minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good. When you accept God’s offer of salvation through the costly sacrifice of His son on your behalf then God will send the third person of the Trinity to be your helper, counsellor, teacher and comforter to indwell your spirit so you can live the Christian life. He will produce the fruit of the Spirit in your life: love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, gentleness, goodness, kindness, and self control. He also provides the nine gifts of the Spirit for ministry: 1 Corinthians 12:8-10

Interpretation of Tongues – translating messages spoken in tongues for understanding

Word of Wisdom – the ability to make decisions and give guidance according to God’s will.

Word of Knowledge – understanding spiritual truths or circumstances.

Faith – extraordinary trust in God that inspires others.

Gifts of Healing – the ability to heal physical, emotional, or spiritual ailments.

Working of Miracles – performing acts that demonstrate God’s power.

Prophecy – declaring God’s message to guide, encourage, or correct.

Discerning of Spirits – recognizing whether something is from God or not.

Speaking in Tongues – communicating in a language unknown to the speaker.

You cannot live the Christian life without the gift of the Holy Spirit which Jesus made possible by His sacrifice. Your spirit was always meant to filled by the Holy Spirit so that you can be the lamp of the Lord. A lamp requires oil to function. It is the Holy Spirit: “The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts.” Proverbs 20:27

The gifts of the Spirit empower you to build up the church (1 Corinthians 12:12-27), serve others in love and humility (1 Peter 4:10-11), and demonstrate God’s power and guidance in the world (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).

A WORLD RIPE FOR JUDGEMENT

EUTHANASIA FOR 14-YEAR-OLDS?

One of Australia’s most senior Catholics has warned that a proposal being considered by the ACT Labor-Greens government to allow teenagers as young as 14 to access voluntary assisted dying could see assisted suicide become available to “anyone that wants it”. Sydney Archbishop Anthony Fisher said that every jurisdiction that had introduced assisted suicide had relaxed restrictions over time, cautioning that by setting such a low bar the ACT would see standards “end up in the gutter with no protections at all”. ACT Human Rights Minister Tara Cheyne said that the government was considering allowing children as young as 14 to access voluntary assisted dying, unveiling a community consultation report to help shape legislation to be introduced by the end of the year. “The fact is, every jurisdiction in the world that has gone down the euthanasia path has then gradually stripped away its protections,” Archbishop Fisher said.

“So, if we start as the ACT’s proposing to start, with the bar already very low, well they’re just going to end up in the gutter with no protections at all.” Archbishop Fisher branded the ACT government led by Chief Minister Andrew Barr, a “radical government” that he didn’t trust to enforce safeguards around assisted suicide. He also questioned why 14-year-olds were considered too young to drive and vote but mature enough to “make a life-and-death decision”. “Victoria has only had euthanasia for a year or two, and they’re already talking about removing most of the protections,” he said. “Well, if the ACT starts with almost none, where are they going to be two or three years on? “My guess is it will be euthanasia on demand for anyone that wants it, and that’s exactly, for some of the proponents of this, their ultimate goal.”

Ms Cheyne rejected as arbitrary the requirement in other Australian jurisdictions for assisted suicide to be accessed only by people with a life expectancy of between six and 12 months, and left the door open for dementia patients to access the scheme. NSW, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland, South Australia, and Tasmania have legalised assisted suicide for people over 18 years old who have a terminal illness and are given less than six to 12 months to live. Health Minister Mark Butler and opposition health spokeswoman Anne Ruston said they would not comment on territory issues. Five MPs representing the ACT independent senator David Pocock, Finance Minister Katy Gallagher, and Labor members Andrew Leigh Alicia Payne and David Smith also declined to comment. Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce questioned the suggestion that 14-year-olds were mature enough to make an “informed cogent decision about the most precious thing they have, which is their life”.

“It’s what happens when you have a Greens left-wing Labor government and the idea the state reigns supreme over the individual; it’s the removal of all forms of religion to be replaced with the ethos of the state,” Barnaby said. The architect of the world’s first right-to-die laws and former Northern Territory chief minister Marshall Perron said it was “very hard to put a finger” on when a teenager developed the decision-making capacity to be eligible for assisted suicide. “You’ll get a different opinion from different people … 16 and 17 would be an easier step to go,” he said. “However, there is an argument to go beyond that. If we’re talking about terminally ill individuals who are going to die and are suffering horrifically, I mean, anyone who’s a parent would have to have some sympathy for the child.”

What we are seeing is just a prelude to the coming of the man of lawlessness, the Antichrist, but the good news is; the return of Jesus to restore righteousness and rule and reign with the resurrected Saints during Jesus’ transitional Millennial Kingdom is not too far off.

“Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him… Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:1,3-4

EXIT GOD, ENTER DEATH CULTURE

God creates life; Satan works to destroy life like he did at the beginning with the first humans, Adam and Eve. Jesus said of Satan to the Scribes and Pharisees:

“You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.“ John 8:44

Should we be surprised then that when nations turn their back on God they reap a harvest of death and misery? Whenever Israel abandoned God and followed after false Gods, they ended up with death and bondage. They did so many times (see Judges and Kings) with the same result. Can countries that were based on Christian values and laws expect to avoid the same consequences if they turn their back on God? No! Of course not! Western nations like my own country Australia, America, and most of Europe have abandoned God aided by the grand lie of evolution promoted by the educational establishment that we no longer need God.

We see it in the developing culture of death in these nations:

Unrestricted abortion even up to full term

Euthanasia (voluntary assisted suicide)

Family can be whatever you want. Children do not need a father and mother committed to a lifelong marriage.

Indoctrinating children with gender-bending ideology, creating confusion, disaffection with life, and suicidal urges.

Extremist ‘deep green’ ideology identifies humans as a plague on the earth that need to be culled.

The world needs to know that there is only one answer to this world’s problems and that is Jesus.

“I am the way the truth and the life” John 14:6 and “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy, I came that they might have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

Satan’s grand lie is that God is withholding all of the good things of life from us and makes us miserable with rules and regulations:

Marriage is only for a man and a woman.

You are what God made you a male or female and there is no choice in the matter.

Life is sacred; abortion is murder and euthanasia is suicide.

Christians: our job is to make Jesus’ Good News known, that is the Great Commission.

HOPE THE LEGISLATORS LEARN FROM CHLOE COLE’S STORY

Detransitioned Teen Who Underwent Double Mastectomy, Took ‘Experimental’ Hormones as a Child Now Suing Medical Group

At just 13 years old, teenager Chloe Cole — who thought she was a boy — started taking puberty blockers, began a round of testosterone, and, just two years later, underwent a double mastectomy. Now she’s suing the medical group that allowed it all to happen.

The 18-year-old Cole announced Thursday her intent to sue the Permanente Medical Group, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals whose medical personnel “performed, supervised, and/or advised transgender hormone therapy and surgical intervention for Chloe Cole when she was between 13-17 years old.”

In a press release, Cole, represented by attorney Harmeet Dhillon, said her teenage life “has been the culmination of excruciating pain, regret, and most importantly, injustice.”

“I have been emotionally and physically damaged and stunted by so-called medical professionals in my most important developmental period,” she continued. “I was butchered by an institution that we trust more than anything else in our lives. What is worse is that I am not alone in my pain.”

“I will ensure that the blood and tears of detransitioners like me will not be in vain,” Cole continued. “It is impossible for me to recoup what I have lost, but I will fight to ensure that no other children will be harmed at the hands of these liars and mutilators.”

Dhillon, CEO of the Center for American Liberty, explained during an appearance alongside her client on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that Cole is the victim of “medical malpractice and frankly mutilation.”

“The medical system shouldn’t dictate the future of young children’s lives,” Dhillon said in a statement. “Through this legal action, we will hold the ‘professionals’ involved accountable for their deliberate choices to mutilate children and financially benefit from it without regard to the human tragedies they created.”

Cole explained to Fox News host Tucker Carlson that she was just 12 years old when she was told she could medically change her sex from female to male. From day one, she said, she was affirmed in her decision — as a child — to permanently alter her body.

She said neither she nor her parents were ever “informed of the option of psychiatric treatment or an approach that attempted to treat the underlying psychological conditions to bring about a mental state congruent with [her] biological sex.”

Furthermore, the now-detransitioned teenager said she and her parents were “falsely informed” she was at an elevated risk of committing suicide and were faced with this terrifying ultimatum: “Would you rather have a dead daughter or a live son?”

The fear-mongering questions and misleading advice has left Cole in a tragic position.

“They removed both of my breasts, and I will never have them back,” she told Carlson. “As an adult, I never will be able to breastfeed whatever children I will have. I don’t even know if — because I was put on puberty blockers and testosterone at only 13 years old — I don’t know if I’ll even be able to conceive a child naturally, because I made an adult decision as a child.”

“I’m 18 years old now and I’m, quite frankly, I’m devastated with what has happened to me,” she continued. “It’s been very hard to cope with the loss of my breasts and it’s affected other areas of my life as well. I’m really not sure about the overall picture of my reproductive health and I’ve been … the treatments have made me very sickly, actually.”

News of Cole’s lawsuit comes as lawmakers in states like Florida and Tennessee are fighting to ban clinics and hospitals from performing irrevocable transgender-related surgeries and treatments on minors. Cole’s story should help sanity prevail.

ABANDONMENT OF OBJECTIVE TRUTH AND COMMON SENSE

Why are people so hostile to the idea of objective truth? They are deeply hostile to the thought of anything that in any sense stands in judgement over them. The idea toward which they are most hostile is, of course, the idea of there being a God. But they are almost as hostile to the idea of there being an objective universe that doesn’t care what they think and could make their most cherished beliefs false.

The abandonment of common sense is exactly because of our deep-seated desire to not have anything, not even an impersonal universe, be in the position of judging us, our actions, or our beliefs. And so to avoid this, we reject common sense in favor of the fancy of theory (e.g. Evolution and random chance as a means of creating this universe of order and complexity beyond our understanding), yet in doing so we confirm not theory, but Biblical revelation itself, particularly “end times” prophecies of what the world will be like prior to Jesus second coming.

“ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse; for although they knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man or birds or animals, or reptiles. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves. because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a base mind and to improper conduct. They were filled with all manner of wickedness, evil, covetousness, and malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malignity, they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them but approve those who practice them.” Romans 1:18-32 (RSV)

I have included this video but would caution you that it is almost 2 hours long and the content is deep and complex. Jordan is seeking the truth but as yet I doubt He has committed his life to our Lord Jesus Christ. I say that because he makes no mention of the Holy Spirit, nor does Peter Kreeft for that matter. Jesus made it possible for our Heavenly Father to send the Holy Spirit to indwell our spirit so that we can live a Christian life. The Holy Spirit is our counsellor, comforter, and teacher. He produces the fruit of the Spirit (9) in our lives and provides gifts of the Spirit for ministry (9). Once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, He provides the means for us to be Christian by providing the third person of the Trinity to empower us.
