The Consequences of Disobedience to God – a great article by William Newton Wordsworth

Jesus warns us in this parable, “that those who hear His sayings and do not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand and when the storms came, it fell, and “great was its fall.” Matthew 7:26,27

Since becoming a Christian in 1995, God has shown me the cost of disobedience to Him through personal experience and scripture.

It truly is as Moses warned the Israelites before they entered the Promised Land – that if they obeyed God’s commands, He would bless them and they would flourish. However, if they disobeyed Him, they would be cursed, and suffering would come upon them (Deuteronomy 28).

This principle is repeated throughout the Old Testament and remains true today. God has great mercy and compassion, but persistent disobedience brings serious consequences. God showed me that this still applies today to the nations as it does to people in an extremely powerful way:

In 2010, while praying with my wife, Kelly, and our son, Vincent, God said to me, “Tomorrow I am going to make a major statement.” By a vision I was shown that this statement would be physical in nature. Then God said, “For Me it will be nothing, but for man it will be big.”

The following day, Vincent was monitoring the news for “God’s major statement” that we all knew was coming. Then the news broke that a devastating earthquake struck Haiti, in one of the worst so called natural disasters in modern history. Over 300,000 people died, and up to a million were left homeless.

Our Father then led Kelly and me to discover why He brought this calamity upon the Haitian people. That they persist in disobedience to Him through voodoo and occult spiritual practices, which are against His Commandment to have no other gods before Him (Exodus 20:3) and are an abomination to Him (Deuteronomy 18:9–14).

Fear of the Lord Helps Us to Obey God

It is important for us to remember that God our Creator has not changed to accommodate the modern beliefs of people. His Commandments remain the same, and He still requires individuals and nations to obey Him. It is we who must change, not God.

The “fear of the Lord” is not terror, but a deep awe and reverence for God. It comes from recognising who He is – the Creator of the world, the universe, all of the living, including humanity. It also comes from realising what He will do if we persist in wickedness.

Jesus warned us to “fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

This reverent fear of God’s power helps us to obey Him. Obedience to Him leads us to receive the abundant life that Jesus came to bring us and avoid the calamities that follow disobedience.

Since the 2010 earthquake, the people of Haiti have continued the widespread practice of Voodoo as their national religion, and they have experienced ongoing suffering — further earthquakes, cholera outbreaks, poverty, political instability and gang warfare. This ongoing tragedy can serve as a stark reminder to us that whether we have fear of the Lord and obey Him, has serious consequences for our life, our nation and the world.

Now is the Time to Get Right with the Lord

God guided me in prayer that the approaching storm Jesus warned me about began in earnest with the Covid Pandemic. I believe we are now living in what Jesus referred to as “end times”. The signs of the “beginning of sorrows” that He spoke of to His disciples (Matthew 24:4–8) are increasingly evident.

We are now living in a spiritual war in which revelations of widespread evil are occurring.  This troubles many people. However, Jesus warns us that it is God whom we must fear, not man.

For Christians, this is the time to look deeply at ourselves. Those who have grown complacent toward God, “who say in their heart that the Lord will not do good and nor will He do evil” (Zephaniah 1:12-13), have a window of opportunity to repent and turn wholeheartedly to Him before the long-prophesied return of Jesus to judge all.

Now is the time to stand with Jesus on the Rock of Ages, to be passionately seeking to be right with God, to do His will, to resist evil in our own lives and the world — that He will know us on His return.

I was guided by God in a prayer during the pandemic to write the book Warnings from the Living God. It is written to help people understand the storm we are now in and to be spiritually prepared for what is to come. The promise of Jesus that He made two thousand years ago remains today: those who will stand with Him and “endure to the end shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13).

AUSTRALIA NO LONGER HAS A BIOLOGICAL DEFINITION OF ‘MAN’ AND ‘WOMAN’ IN FEDERAL LAW

No wonder our nation is confused. This isn’t an abstract legal glitch. It’s a cultural earthquake and we’re all living in the aftershocks. When the law deletes biological reality, it reflects something deeper: a nation rejecting God and rejecting truth. Scripture is clear: God created humanity in His image; male and female. He designed our bodies with purpose, with complementarity, and with the ability to bring forth life. This isn’t a ‘Christian belief’; it’s a universal human and scientific reality. Only a male and a female can create life. No amount of surgery, hormones, or legal word-games can change that. But biological sex is inconvenient for a culture driven by desire instead of design. So, the modern world fights God’s created order – fighting nature itself. The result? A fruitless imitation of what God intended for life and flourishing. Two males cannot conceive a child. Two females cannot conceive a child. A ‘trans’ man cannot produce a sperm. A ‘trans’ woman cannot produce egg. Reality does not bend.

And yet the push continues. The Australian Law Reform Commission is now considering whether to loosen Australia’s ban on commercial surrogacy to make it easier for male couples to procure children. If a homosexual relationship cannot produce children, then surrogates must be made more accessible — even paid for. This is the commodification of human life, and it is grotesque. Australia is rewriting creation to satisfy the desires of adults – not the rights of children. And the root of this problem goes back further than many realise. In 2013, then-Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus inserted ‘gender identity’ into the Sex Discrimination Act. This was an Act originally designed for females but suddenly, any man who identified as a “woman” received the same protections. This legal fiction, that a male can be a “woman”, became a protected category. The idea that biological sex doesn’t matter took root, and that idea now shapes everything.

The Tickle v Giggle case cemented this new legal definition. A male who identifies as a “woman” sued a female-only app for excluding him…and won. The court ruled that Tickle was disadvantaged relative to other females on the grounds of his trans identity. So much for protecting women. In response to recent questioning by Senator Claire Chandler, Australia’s Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Dr Anna Cody, couldn’t even answer, “What is a biological male?” When our own Commissioner has no regard for biological realities, national sanity is broken. Because of this legal falsehood, women are losing every protected space: bathrooms, changing rooms, prisons, sporting clubs, shelters, school camps, accommodation. Everywhere. You see it now in every government form, census questions, health, education, workplaces, and public policy. It appears in rainbow-washed institutions insisting reproductive organs have nothing to do with sex. “Pick your gender: male, female, non-binary, other.”

The fallout is truly devastating. Children are being led into confusion, puberty blockers, sterilisation, and irreversible harm. Women are being placed at risk by men in female-only spaces including in prisons and school camps. Parents, teachers, and even principals are being punished for speaking biological truth. In NSW, a mother was fined $95,000 for vilification for defending women’s sport. Enough is enough. The Sex Discrimination Act must be restored to its original purpose: protect women – real women. This is where the deception stops, and truth begins. Christians must speak clearly, confidently, and unapologetically the Biblical truth of creation: “Male and female He created them.” This truth is reality. This truth is the foundation of human life. And abandoning it is dangerous and wrong. Because the simplest truth remains the most profound: Male + Female = Life

What Michelle failed to mention is the fact that Australia will be the recipient of an increase in God’s judgement as a result of this foolishness. Australia has been under God’s judgement for sometime but it will only escalate. Also, we are fast approaching the Biblical prophesied time of Jesus return. There were 300 plus prophecies of Jesus first coming to Earth that were fulfilled to the letter so it is reasonable to conclude that the 2000 prophecies of Jesus second coming will also be fulfilled. These prophecies are playing out in our day. They are mostly Israel centric and the first major prophecy fulfilled was Israel being miraculously reborn in 1948, over 70 years ago now. What the world needs to be made aware of is the fact that prior to Jesus return God pours out His wrath upon the unrepentant with the Trumpet and Bowl judgements of Revelation 8 & 16. Sadly, the people do not repent as can be seen at their response to some of the Bowl judgements:

“The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory.
The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. They did not repent of their deeds.” Revelation 16:8-11

THE BOOK OF JOEL AND “THE DAY OF THE LORD”

Joel was God’s spokes person during the reign of Joash (835-796 BC) over the southern kingdom of Judah. Joel stresses the sovereign power of God over nature and shows how God uses nature to get the attention of the people. When an ominous black cloud descended upon the land of Judah – dreaded locusts, Joel understood that it was God’s terrible judgement on the House of Judah for sin. In a matter of hours , every living green thing had been stripped bare. Likewise we should understand that when terrible floods and fires descend upon our land that it may well be the judgement of the Lord for sin, e.g. transgenderism, LGBTQ issues, gay marriage and godless laws.

For us Joel is an important book, because God showed him that as terrible as His judgement was with the locust plague it was by comparison nothing compared with God’s future judgements during “The Day of the Lord“. It will be a time when God not only destroys His enemies but He also brings unparalleled blessings to those who faithfully obey Him.

Biblical prophecy reveals that “The Day of the Lord” is fast approaching as persecution of Christians and Jews escalates and apostasy in the church is rampant with acceptance of homosexual pastors and gay marriage widespread.

The Hebrew name Yo’el means “Yahweh Is God” The name is appropriate to the theme of the book, which emphasizes God’s sovereign work in history. The courses of nature and nations are in His hand.

Multiculturalism Introduced: 70’s Whitlam Labor Government

The Whitlam Government dismantled the White Australia Policy and with it, the longstanding expectation of assimilation. In its place, Australia was reframed away from the idea of one people with a shared national identity and toward an ideology of multiculturalism.

What should have occurred instead was the adoption of a genuinely multiracial policy, one that welcomed people to Australia regardless of background, but with the clear and non-negotiable expectation that upon arrival, they would adopt the Australian way of life and fully integrate into our existing culture, to fully become Australian.

That didn’t happen; instead, they were encouraged to hold onto their existing culture.

Australia Redefined by Multiculturalism: 70’s to 80’s Fraser Liberal Government

Malcolm Fraser didn’t reverse Labour’s experiment. He locked it in. Under Fraser, Australia stopped being described as a culturally unified nation and was redefined as a “multicultural society”. The idea that Australians should share a common culture was discarded.

Multiculturalism became explicit state policy, bureaucracies multiplied, advisory councils appeared, and taxpayer-funded ethnic advocacy bodies were entrenched.

Citizenship was redefined away from equality and toward group-based identity politics.

“Diversity” became a moral command handed down by our lords and masters in Canberra.

What Was Lost

Let’s be absolutely clear about what was lost in this process. Australia already had a culture, an Australian culture. A culture shaped by our history, language, institutions, customs, and shared Christian foundation.

It is entirely reasonable to expect that when migrants come to Australia, they adopt that culture and assimilate into our way of life, that is how successful nations function, that is how social trust is built.

What Australians were never asked for was the creation of parallel societies, where people live in Australia but never truly become Australian. (You know what I am talking about — you have seen it.)

People come here because Australia is safer, freer, and more prosperous than the countries they left behind. Yet far too many of those we have chosen to admit have imported the very social, cultural, and political failures that originally forced them to leave. The obvious question is, why bring those problems and those people here at all? It is a good question and one that deserves an answer.

It is perfectly reasonable for us to expect newcomers to leave behind old feuds, vendettas, dysfunctional politics, and to adopt our Australian way of life. That is the social contract. If someone is unwilling to do that, flights leave daily. So I ask you again, why are we allowing such people to come here at all?

Demand better from your leaders, demand an immigration system that serves Australians first, demand assimilation, social cohesion, and loyalty to our nation, not endless appeasement of activists, bureaucrats, and Marxists. A nation that cannot assert who it is will soon be told who it must become.

Stop being afraid of the slurs. Racist. Nazi. Sexist. Misogynist. These words have been screamed into meaninglessness by the Left and now carry no moral authority. Do not be afraid to speak the truth, do not apologise for defending our culture, our country or our people.

Reject the lie that self-respect, love of country, and pride in our Christian foundations amount to hatred. There is nothing virtuous about national suicide and nothing moral about silence in the face of cultural erasure.

The choice is no longer abstract: defend Australian culture now or lose it forever. History will remember those who stayed quiet to avoid being called names, and it will remember those who had the courage to stand when it mattered.

Ralph Babet is a Christian who wants to restore our Christian heritage. I cannot see that happening. In fact, it is amazing that Parliament is still opened with prayer which is a constant reminder of that Christian heritage. These facts: the Greens party members do not enter parliament until after prayer, and the godless bills that are being passed into law demonstrate that most members of parliament no longer believe in the God of our Bible. Within days, the mighty Yangtze and Yellow Rivers, the arteries of China’s civilization, turned into monstrous torrents that devoured everything in their path. Entire cities vanished beneath walls of water. Villages were erased from the map. And more than one million people were forced to flee for their lives. The rainfall was relentless — supercharged by shifting climate patterns and atmospheric rivers that dumped weeks’ worth of rain in just hours. The result? Both the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers surged past record flood levels, bursting through dams and levees that once stood as symbols of Chinese engineering pride.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW THE EVIDENCE FOR A GLOBAL FLOOD

 Using the Bible, well-documented historical events, and some math, we find that the Flood began  approximately 4,359 years ago in the year 2348 BC. Genesis teaches it; Jesus and the apostles confirmed it. It also explains most of the rocks and fossils and obliterates billions of years. Without millions of years , evolution is impossible – not that it is possible if millions of years were granted. We should therefore be prepared to defend a global flood along with the rest of the faith, as well as refute arguments against it.

“But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honour Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.” 1 Peter 3:14-16

“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.” 2 Corinthians 9:5-6

The evidence for the global flood of Noah’s day is extensive and it can be found on two websites http://www.creation.com and http://www.answersingenesis.org.

The world must reject Noah’s flood as it destroys evolution which is their attempt to explain away the Cosmos without God. Noah’s flood also proves that God judged the world and destroyed all but the eight people on the ark God instructed Noah to make. Who wants to believe their creator would do that? Evolution has been one of Satan’s most effective ploys to deceive mankind into rejecting God.

What about now? Both Jesus and Peter told us that people will reject the true history of the world including Noah’s flood at the time before Jesus returns to Earth to rescue His Saints and God pours out His wrath a second time on an unrepentant world with the Trumpet and Bowl judgements.

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all... so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.” Luke 17:26-27,30

“For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” Matthew 24:38-39

In Peter’s second letter, he prophecies about future scoffers following their own sinful desires and denying Christ’s return. They “deliberately overlook” two foundational truths. The first was God created the world out of water and the second was the global flood of Noah’s day.

“Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.” 2 Peter 3:3-6

Jesus returns on the clouds with the angels to gather the Saints, first the resurrected Saints and then those alive on Earth. “Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.” Revelation 1:7

God then pours out His wrath upon the Earth with the Trumpet and Bowl judgements. It so happens that His judgement last one year and ten days exactly the same time as God poured out His wrath the fist time with Noah’s flood. Why one year and ten days? When Jesus returns it will be a Jubilee year and the year before a Jubilee year is always one year and ten days.

AUSTRALIANS COMPELLED TO DENY REALITY

As the law stands, Australians are compelled to deny reality or face severe penalties. When Julia Gillard’s Labour government removed sex-based protections in the Sex Discrimination Act, she put us on a path of destruction that has enormous ramifications. We now find ourselves in a dire situation where free speech, parental rights and women’s sex-based rights are being erased and undermined. Children are put on irreversible pathways that cause catastrophic harm. And we risk great penalties if we oppose the lies that underpin the legislation. The media has been increasingly exploring the ramifications and this article by journalist Chris Uhlmann highlights some of the nonsense being conducted under the guise of law.

Bad ideas do damage and, to borrow from Orwell, we live in an age where restating the obvious has become a civic duty. So here goes. There is such a thing as binary sex. It is etched in your chromosomes and biology, and you cannot change it. Human beings are male or female. A vanishingly small number are intersex. That is a biological anomaly. It is not a third sex. We also use the words man and woman. That is gender. You can legally change your gender. If you wish to do so, good luck to you. No one should discriminate against you. But your rights are not the only rights, and when identity collides with reality in a plural society, compromise is unavoidable. As a general rule, the vast majority should not be forced to make profound changes to customs, laws and language to accommodate a tiny minority. The legal right to change gender should not compel others to deny the reality of sex, because it is the definition of tyranny that you demand I sign up to a fantasy. Conceding that gender can be changed with nothing more than a form and a fee is a big enough leap.  

Conceding that sex is fluid is an assault on reason. But the obvious is now being obscured. The concession to change the law on gender now leads to a demand to deny science. The activist playbook never changes: assert, extend, sanctify, silence. Sentiment overrules reason, and those who insist on fidelity to the truth are traduced. Who could have imagined that the ordinary meaning of male and female would one day be put on trial, and that the very body created to defend women’s rights would argue that “female” is essentially meaningless? But that is exactly where we are: no one can change sex, and it is cruel to enforce the lie they can. Ridiculous laws have rendered the words ‘woman’ and ‘sex’ meaningless. This is dangerous and results in the erasure of hard fought and won protections for women and girls.  

The Sex Discrimination Commissioner cannot define her own portfolio. Anna Cody has no simple definition for “sex” or “woman.” How ludicrous that an Office for Women can exist that includes men. In dissolving the boundary between sex and gender, the commissioner is engaging in institutional betrayal. The office created to defend women now seeks to erase them. If sex is stripped of its biological anchor in law, on what grounds could any male who declares himself female be denied entry to real or virtual single-sex spaces? Does the commissioner truly believe that in a world where any man can change gender by nomination alone, predatory men will not exploit that licence to prey on women? The reality is, there are already countless examples of males taking advantage of these laws to the detriment of us all. This mess needs cleaning up before even more catastrophic harm is done in the name of gender ideology.

EVERY MAN AND WOMAN WILL GIVE AN ACCOUNT TO GOD

Every man is made by God, every man will give an account to God, and that truth will outlast any human power to defy him. God is righteous and holy and He will judge evil and wickedness. How many people in the world are living in accordance with this truth? Sadly, not many, so let us that know the truth, do our best to follow the Holy Spirit’s lead to alert those to this truth, to whomever He takes us. Just follow His lead. Don’t try and do anything in your own strength that is wasted time. God sent the Holy Spirit to indwell every believers spirit so we can once again be the lamp of the Lord as stated in Proverbs: “The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts.” Proverbs 20:27. A lamp cannot function without oil which is the Holy Spirit.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others” 2 Corinthians 5:10-11

BIBLICAL HISTORY SHOWS US GOD’S PEOPLE REPEATEDLY IGNORED HIS WARNINGS OF HIS COMING JUDGEMENT

An estimated 25% to 30% of the Bible is prophecy and much of it is now fulfilled, no mistakes, so why don’t we believe the end times prophecies that are now being fulfilled in our time?

“I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose” Isaiah 46:9-10

Although it appears Enoch and Noah preached the coming end of the pre-flood world, no one responded. Even with the witness bore through the name Methuselah, which meant his death shall bring judgment, no action was taken except for Noah and his family.
Throughout Scripture, the response of these ancient people is conveyed—they continued eating, drinking, and marrying until the promised curtain closed. The same is said of those in the cities of the
plain, Sodom and Gomorrah, which were destroyed by fire and brimstone.
This pattern is repeated throughout the entire Bible. A warning of judgment is given by God and ignored.
The warning is repeated through spokesmen sent by God, and those warnings are unheeded. Promised signs appeared, and those too are disregarded. Time passes, and people take that as further proof there will never be a judgment. But in every case, the promised catastrophic event occurs just as foretold.
This was the case with the flood. Then with Sodom and Gomorrah.
We observe it happen to the northern ten tribes of Israel by the hand of the Assyrians. Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, and Micah had warned them. Warnings had begun with Moses, close to 700 years before the event. Israelites were told if they didn’t repent and turn from idolatry they’d be driven out of the land. Micah clearly stated the Assyrians would come from the north. And it happened. Prophets also preached to the southern tribes in Judah, and the events there paralleled what had happened in the North. These
two southern tribes had received the same warnings from Moses recorded in the Torah. They’d hear from Joel, Isaiah, Habakkuk, Jeremiah, and others. Yet they never responded, and the Babylonians invaded Judah and carried them away into captivity. Beyond the Assyrian and Babylonian captivity, those same
prophets warned of a time when Israel would be scattered to the four corners of the earth. This would be fulfilled after Jesus ascended into Heaven when the Romans besieged and eventually ransacked
Jerusalem in 70 AD.
This pattern of warning, unbelief, and judgment has repeated itself over and over. Sadly, we see it today, the end times signs which Jesus, John (Revelation) and the prophets have given us are being ignored and as Peter warned scoffed at.

“Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” 2 Peter 3:3-4
