WHAT DOES GOD HAVE IN MIND FOR YOU?

God has something for every believer to accomplish. However, it requires total commitment and constant vigilance. Essential are spiritual awareness and unwavering commitment to doing what he calls us to do.

THE TRADITIONAL FAMILY IS THE BASIC UNIT OF SOCIETY

The family is the basic unit of God’s plan for His world. He designed it to be a strong foundation for society and for each individual. When the family functions according to God’s design, it is a powerful force for good in the world.

As the original and basic cell of society, the family is the natural organic source of all societies. The liberal secularists’ assumption that the individual is the basic unit of society, is an assumption that is impossible to demonstrate.

Marriage being opened up to combinations of people other than one man and one woman marks the death knell of the nation. No society has ever endured far beyond the demeaning of the marriage institution.

Traditional marriages produce children, who extend the nation’s existence, ideals, goals, and wealth for another generation. Traditional families are healthier, more stable, and more productive than other kinds of families, resulting in a net gain for society.

God ultimately owns children, but he entrusts them to parents to discipline and disciple them, for him. That means the government/the state does not own our children.

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” Psalm 127:3

Our enemy, Satan, knows that parents are the first and strongest barrier to provide protection for children against predation and grooming. He knows that God gave children parents to protect them from evil and danger, so he tries to separate children from their parents, isolating them and making them vulnerable to his lies. It’s all part of the spiritual battle raging around us.

Satan has the family in his crosshairs as he ramps up his attack. But God has already given us the answer to this spiritual attack, and it’s found in Deuteronomy 6 and Ephesians 6.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:5–9

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4

The answer to the attack on the family and the intense LGBTQ, pro-abortion, CRT, etc., indoctrination directed toward children is parents—fathers in particular—teaching their children the Word of the Lord, day in and day out, in all situations.

If you are a father, are you the kind of father who is intentional about bringing your children up in the instruction of the Lord? The kind of father who spends time with his children so he has opportunity to talk about the Lord when he sits, walks, and rises with his children? You have the responsibility before the Lord to be that kind of dad—you cannot leave it solely to your wife or to your church. You stand responsible before God as the head of your family.

GOD’S TIMING IS PERFECT

The Christian actor and executive producer, Kirk Cameron recently appeared on CBN’s “Faith vs. Culture,” where he spoke about “Lifemark,” a movie chronicling the true story of a teenage boy unexpectedly contacted by his birth mother, who gave him up for adoption 18 years earlier. The film debuts as a Fathom Event in theaters nationwide September 9-15.

Cameron described the movie from filmmaking duo Alex and Stephen Kendrick as the brothers’ “best one yet.” The “Growing Pains” star last worked with the Kendricks in 2008, when “Fireproof” hit theaters.

The timing of the debut of “Lifemark” is certainly noteworthy, I would suggest Kirk Cameron was God-led, given the pro-life film’s premiere is coming just a few months after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to overturn the precedent established in 1973 by its landmark case Roe v. Wade, granting nationwide legal cover to abortion access.

“This is a movie that’s coming out an unbelievably providential moment in history,” Cameron told CBN show co-hosts Dan Andros and Billy Hallowell. “Who would have thought that Roe v. Wade would be gone? Let’s say that again: Roe v. Wade is gone. Holy smokes! And now here’s a movie coming on the heels of that Supreme Court decision that celebrates the value of life in the womb and the beauty of adoption.”

Telling the story of “Lifemark,” which details the last-minute decision of an 18-year-old girl seconds away from abortion stopping the procedure to choose adoption instead, was personally important to Cameron because he and his wife have four adopted children themselves — two of whom have, like the character in the movie, met their birth mothers.

God is at work in believers’ lives. He will use you just as he is using Kirk Cameron just get in step with Him.

REALITY OF ANGELS AND DEMONS

Angels are part of cosmic reality. They are spiritual beings but also have the ability to take on physical bodies that appear and function as human bodies. God has given them free will just as he has given us free will. We know this because there are evil angels (demons) and there is a hierarchy of angels, good and evil.

An evil archangel, Lucifer (Satan, Devil) was instrumental in bringing sin into this world by deceiving Adam and Eve. We also know that before the creation of the Cosmos, Lucifer led a rebellion of one third of all angels against those angels loyal to God. The rebellious angels were of course defeated and are now called demons but God has allowed the warfare to continue on earth. Under Lucifer’s control, demons are enemies of God intent on deceiving and destroying mankind. The following scripture reveals that archangel Michael understood God had given Satan authority (within God’s boundaries – Job) to stage warfare on earth.

“But when the archangel Michael, contending with the Devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.” Jude 1:9

The reason is given for Lucifer’s rebellion; he wanted to be God. Is this not mankind’s major problem, we want to be God, at least of our own lives.

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, I will ascend to heaven, above the stars of God: I will set my throne on high: I will sit on the mount of assembly, in the far reaches of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the most High.” Isaiah 14:12-14

Sadly, most of mankind is oblivious to the existence of angels and demons and therefore of the spiritual warfare taking place and yet God’s Word makes it crystal clear that without the whole armour of God we are unable to stand against the schemes of the Devil.

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:11-12

Most of mankind is following the Prince of this World (Satan) dead in their trespasses and sins.

“And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the Prince of the Power of the Air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.” Ephesians 2:1-3

How foolish it is that most people are unwilling to repent and accept their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.“ John 3:16-17

“Jesus said to him (Thomas), “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” John 14:6-7

Why has God allowed Satan and his demons to exist and wage warfare against us, His creatures, made in His image?

God has revealed in many Scriptures that He knew the outcome of all that would happen in His world before He even created it. The following Scriptures make this point clear.

“He (Jesus) was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” 1 Peter 1:20-21

“Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.” John 17:24

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.” Ephesians 1:3-4

“Also it (the Antichrist in the last days before Jesus returns) was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it (Antichrist) over every tribe and people and language and nation, and all who dwell on earth will worship it (Antichrist)), everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain. Revelation 13:7-8

Think on it; God planned for Jesus to come to earth at the appointed time to pay the price for the sins of mankind for all who repent and acknowledge Him as their Saviour and Lord. Surely this demonstrates the extent of God’s love for His creation as well as His grace and His mercy. Perhaps in no other way could God reveal to us His full character but in the history that has and is still playing out in His world. Through the stories of the Bible we get to know God, what He did and what is important to Him. We get to know; He is trustworthy, He is holy, righteousness, He disciplines individuals and nations, His judgement (Noah’s Flood), His mercy, grace and love (Jesus). God’s Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and His Holy Spirit makes it possible for all believers to live the Christian life. All has been revealed to us. God wants a people who will see His character and choose Him above all else regardless of the cost. Will you be one of His children that will live eternally on the new earth and heaven? The choice is yours.

SUMMARY OF GOD’S PLAN

“Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days He has spoken to us by his Son, (Jesus) whom He appointed the heir of all things, through whom also He created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name He has inherited is more excellent than theirs.” Hebrews 1:1-3

Notice the plan is all about JESUS ( the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature). God our heavenly Father, created the world through Jesus and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. Jesus came into this world to pay the price for our SIN (disobedience of Adam and Eve at the Fall of Man, the penalty for which was death). Jesus died in our place “making purification for sins” so that whoever believes in Him can have eternal life.

The only important event missing from this summary is Jesus return to this earth to complete the promise the Father made to Abraham. Jesus will rule all nations, the world from Jerusalem. God has unfinished business with His nation Israel that He established for His purposes.

“And when He (Jesus) had said these things, as they were looking on, He was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11

“They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” Revelation 20:4
