WHY COMMUNISM IS BACK

The West thought it had outgrown Christianity. But in its search for meaning, morality and salvation, it may have simply turned politics into a substitute faith.

There is something wonderfully ironic about the West’s latest flirtation with communism. For decades, Western intellectuals have been busy throwing Christianity out of the public square. Religion, we were told, was primitive. The Bible was an embarrassing relic. And churches were dusty museums for people who still believed in sin, salvation and something called “eternal life”. And yet, having evicted Christianity, the West has discovered that human beings still seem to want meaning.

People also want justice. And they want belonging. They want morality. They want a cause greater than themselves. They want to know who the good guys are, who the bad guys are and what the point of their existence might be. Secular humanism had a go at filling the void left by the abandonment of Christianity. But it turns out that telling everyone to become an autonomous individual who lives to consume consumables and post content on social media before returning to dust wasn’t quite enough.

Enter Karl Marx. Not necessarily the Marx of gulags, bread queues and secret police. That Marx remains somewhat difficult to put on a university tote bag. Rather, it is Marxism as a moral framework that has become fashionable again: the language of oppressors and oppressed, exploitation and liberation, privilege and victimhood, systemic injustice and revolutionary transformation. And this tells us something important about what happens when a society rejects Christianity without abandoning its appetite for a religious explanation of the world. It doesn’t necessarily become less religious. It just becomes religious about politics.

The rejection of Christianity has left a vacuum

Christianity didn’t merely tell Westerners to attend church on Sunday. or centuries, it provided answers to some rather large questions. What is a human being? Why does every person have value? What is justice? Why should I love my neighbour? Why is greed wrong? What is sin? What is the purpose of life? And perhaps most inconveniently: what if I am part of the problem?

Modern secular culture has increasingly rejected Christianity’s answers. But the questions haven’t gone away. Human beings remain incurably interested in meaning. We still want a story that explains why the world is broken, who is responsible and how it can be fixed. Nature abhors a vacuum. So does the human soul.

Marxism provides a remarkably convenient replacement story

Christianity says the world is fallen. Human beings are capable of selfishness, cruelty and injustice. The problem isn’t merely “out there”. It is also inside us. Christianity offers a story of sin, redemption and ultimate restoration. Marxism offers an alternate story. The world is unjust because certain groups possess power over others. Society is divided between oppressors and oppressed. History is moving towards liberation. The existing order must be transformed. You don’t need to believe in God. You simply need to believe in History. And History, in this version, has a plan. That makes Marxism rather more than an economic theory. It becomes a story about human existence. There is a Fall. There are villains. There are victims. There is a struggle. There is redemption. And eventually, if everyone behaves themselves, paradise. The only noticeable difference is that heaven has been relocated from eternity to Earth, and the pearly gates have been replaced by a government department.

Sin doesn’t disappear. It gets reassigned.

Christianity has a particularly annoying doctrine called sin. It says the problem isn’t simply that society is badly organised. The problem is us. That is, shall we say, psychologically inconvenient. It means the wealthy man might be greedy. But it also means the poor man might be greedy. The conservative might be selfish. But the progressive might also be selfish. And the revolutionary might become a tyrant. In other words, nobody gets to escape the diagnosis. Modern political ideologies can offer a much more comfortable arrangement. Instead of asking, “What is wrong with me?” you can ask: “Who is oppressing me?” Suddenly, the moral problem is conveniently located somewhere else. Capitalism can become the villain. Or colonialism. Or racism. Or patriarchy. Or inequality. These are not imaginary issues. Societies can contain genuine injustice, exploitation and discrimination. The interesting question is what happens when political categories begin performing the role that “sin” once performed. You have the guilty. You have the innocent. You have confession. You have repentance. You have moral purity. You have heretics. And you have people explaining on social media why someone else’s disagreement proves they are a terrible person. The theology has changed, but the human instinct hasn’t.

Secular liberalism has a meaning problem

This helps explain why revolutionary politics can appeal particularly strongly to people who feel alienated. Liberal democracy is deliberately boring about ultimate meaning. It says you are free to pursue your own conception of the good life, provided you respect other people’s rights. That’s a pretty sensible political arrangement. But it isn’t exactly the stuff of epic poetry. Nobody wakes up at 7 a.m. thinking: Today I shall bravely defend my right to choose between drinking Coke, Diet Coke or Vanilla Coke. Revolutionary movements offer something more intoxicating. They say: You have a mission. You are not merely going to work, paying rent and scrolling through TikTok until death eventually finds you. You are part of a historic struggle. Your life means something. Your actions contribute to the liberation of humanity. That is an enormously powerful psychological proposition. And it is very close to what religion has historically offered.

Politics can replace the community that religion once supplied

There is another problem. Churches didn’t simply provide doctrines. They provided fellowship. Churches gave individuals somewhere to go, something to do and a community to belong to. They provided rituals, relationships, responsibilities and a shared story. As religious participation declines, people can become increasingly detached from those traditional communities. Politics is increasingly providing a substitute. There are meetings, marches, slogans, symbols, chants and causes. There are people who are “with us” and people who are “against us”. You can even celebrate the occasional conversion when someone comes over to your side. The secular activist may insist he has escaped religion. But in actuality, he has simply joined a movement with its own doctrine, saints, sinners, rituals, commandments and apocalyptic predictions. But please don’t call it a religion. That would be offensive.

And so politics becomes theology

This may be the deepest irony of all. The secular West thought it was escaping religion.Instead, it may simply have secularised some of religion’s functions. The language changes. God becomes History. Sin becomes systemic oppression. Salvation becomes liberation. The church becomes the movement. The sermon becomes the rally. The heretic becomes the person who asks awkward questions. Or who watches News24! And heaven becomes the perfect society that is always just one revolution away. There is nothing inherently wrong with wanting justice. Nor is criticism of capitalism, inequality or social injustice evidence of communism. The point is something more fundamental. Human beings cannot easily live without a story about what is wrong with the world and what would make it right. Christianity supplied one. Modern secularism removed it. Something had to fill the space. And communism — or various descendants of Marxist thought — has proved remarkably willing to apply for the vacancy. Perhaps that is why the modern West’s renewed fascination with revolutionary politics is less mysterious than it first appears. We didn’t stop believing. We simply changed the object of our belief. And after spending half a century insisting that religion was nothing more than humanity’s desperate search for meaning, we may be discovering an awkward truth: Take away God, and humanity doesn’t necessarily stop looking for salvation. It just looks for a government powerful enough to promise it. A final warning… There is one final irony worth considering. The socialist West may discover that its new secular faith is poorly equipped to withstand a much older and more confident religious worldview: Islamism. A political culture that treats its own Christian inheritance as embarrassing, regards national borders as morally suspect and struggles to distinguish tolerance from surrender may find it difficult to resist a movement that has no such reservations about its own beliefs. High immigration levels make the challenge more consequential, while the woke instincts of some Western socialist governments can discourage honest scrutiny of illiberal religious movements. Socialism promises liberation. But what happens when those it seeks to liberate have no interest in its progressive creed? History suggests that abandoning your convictions doesn’t guarantee that everyone else will abandon theirs. Far from it.

RESISTING ISLAM’S THREAT TO THE WEST

There is no political Islam; no moderate Islam; no Islamism; no extremist militant Islamism; no Jihadism; no Wahhabism; no self-radicalised Islamism; no radical Islam; no radical Islamism. There is only Islam. Countless Islamic leaders and scholars have said so. Only Westerners come up with euphemisms to protect Islam as though the latter fictitious terms are something distinct from Islam.”

In order for the West to win this civilizational battle, it must:
1) Proudly and unequivocally defend Western values;
2) Reject cultural relativism and the unicornia vision of multiculturalism;
3) Recommit to individual dignity over the celebration of collective identity politics;
4) Recognise that all cultures are not equal;
5) Recognise that all religious beliefs are not equally consistent with Western values;
6) Recognise that all immigrants are not equally likely to assimilate and adopt Western values;
7) Recognise that immigrants who espouse intolerable values that seek to destroy our civilisation will be deported (en masse);
8) Implement a rational immigration policy that recognises the importance of cultural homophily (choosing immigrants who hail from cultures that possess similar values to those of the host nations);
9) Exhibit zero tolerance for seditious belief systems; such systems can be criminalised if they constitute an existential threat to our freedoms and liberties.”

ISLAMIST DECLARATIONS TO DOMINATE THE WEST

Every single day, Muslims are quite open about their hostility and hatred toward what the West stands for, and they do not hide their plans and goals for living in the West. They might be Islamic preachers or leaders or imams or just your garden-variety Muslims. When someone says they hate you and want to kill you, you better stand up and take notice. When someone says they want to take over your country, you should pay attention. When someone says the West must be destroyed, you should start listening carefully. When someone says women are second-class citizens, we should take note. When someone says they want to see all Jews killed, followed by Christians, you better not ignore them. When someone says they have come to obliterate our way of life, we should be alert and attentive.

The only thing that really matters is this: when will we start listening to them and start believing them? Or will we wait till they have fulfilled all their promises and plans about us and the West? Only a fool ignores such things and seeks to keep his head in the sand.

  In North America

Muslim immigrants in Dearborn, Michigan, openly declare they want to destroy America. “This American empire must fall. People are willing to fight and put their lives on the line to bring these Western empires down.”

Texas imam Main Al Qudah: “We Are Here to Impact & Establish Islam in America.” “The communal obligation is to make sure that Islam is well established in this society… to integrate Islam in the USA… to impact the American identity… We are here to impact the community at large… establishing Islam in this society… building more masjids.”

An imam in Alabama, Ragab Abdelmoneim of the Islamic Academy of Huntsville, openly told his audience that Muslims must be ready to sacrifice their lives through jihad in order to establish “the religion of Allah” in the United States. He claimed that victory over America is closer than ever.

Muslim Student Association (MSA), at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). “Muhammad promised us that Islamic caliphate will be established on earth, and we will fight and die for that cause”.

Residents in a neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY, are complaining that they are forced to listen to the Islamic call to prayer 5 times a day, starting as early as 5 a.m.

25 years ago, New York suffered the deadliest Islamic terrorist attack in history. Since then, the Muslim population in the U.S. has grown from under a million to nearly 5 million. Now, Muslims who have openly stated that America deserved 9/11 are being elected to positions such as Mayor of New York.

Meanwhile in Dearborn, Muslims are reportedly demanding that churches stop ringing their bells on Sunday. “This is a Muslim-majority city and you have to respect us. According to Sharia, church bells cannot be louder than our Islamic call to prayer.”

American Muslim: “First we elect Muslim mayors and soon we will have a Muslim president.”

A guy from Somalia living in the US: “Haha, you work all f***ing day, you don’t got s***. Thank you for working so hard so I can be home all day free. Go to work for me white boy, white girl. Yeah, go to work for me you fu*king white animals.”

Islamic scholar Mohammad Nusairat in Chicago drops the mask: “We did NOT come here to coexist. We are superior to everyone else and will not be surpassed. No one is above us. If other religions want to live with us, they have to worship Allah.”

California Islamic scholar Moustafa Qazwini: “I pray I exit this life as a martyr, just like Ayatollah Khamenei. I want to die with martyrdom, not in a hospital bed. We ask Allah every day that we are killed and martyred in his path.”

“Dirty f***ing slut, shut your mouth, disgusting dog-faced whore. I’ll buy you and make you my slave.” This video of a Muslim migrant in Montreal, Canada, berating a female officer is still one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen. It shows how they view non-Muslim women.

SOCIETAL TIME BOMB: ISLAMISM IN EUROPE

German police study finds 45 percent of Muslims aged under 40 hold Islamist views. Germany, it turns out, is not alone. A separate study in France by the respected polling service Ifop found 44 per cent of Muslims say the rules of Islam are more important than French law. Among those aged 15–24, the number climbs to 57 per cent. Even more striking, 38 per cent of French Muslims express support for Islamist positions, double the level recorded in 1998.

Europeans were assured that mass migration required only patience, a few diversity workshops, and perhaps a taxpayer-funded hummus festival in order to be successful. They were lied to.

A newly released study by Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) has delivered what officials are politely calling an “explosive” finding: Nearly half of Muslims under the age of 40 in Germany hold Islamist views. Not a small fringe. Not a handful of radicals in the shadows. Half. According to the 598-page Motra Monitor report, 45.1 per cent of Muslims under 40 hold either “latent or manifestly Islamist attitudes.”

In plain English, that means many express sympathy for Islamist ideology, prefer Sharia law over Germany’s constitution, and harbour anti-Semitic prejudices. Politicians that repeatedly said… “diversity is our strength” are now having a rethink.

Alarm Bells

Even some German politicians appear to have noticed the problem. Wolfgang Kubicki of the Free Democrats looked at the numbers and suggested they should “set off all the alarm bells,” describing the situation as a “societal time bomb”. He added that Germany must stop “naively looking away,” a refreshing statement given that naively looking away has been government policy for roughly 20 years.

Kubicki went further, pointing out the rather obvious truth that anyone demanding a caliphate is an enemy of democracy, and suggesting that non-citizens advocating such ideas should be deported. Which, if you think about it, is a fairly modest proposal: if you openly oppose the constitutional order of the country hosting you, perhaps you shouldn’t live there. Radical stuff.

The study’s authors say the most worrying demographic is precisely the one Europe was assured would be the most integrated: young Muslims under 40.

Islamism researcher Prof. Susanne Schröter said these attitudes typically involved believing Islamist interpretations of Islam were correct, supporting groups aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood, preferring Sharia to Germany’s Basic Law, and — somewhat predictably — holding anti-Jewish views.

Researchers also noted a spike in radicalisation following the October 7 Hamas attacks in 2023, which triggered demonstrations across Europe where young Muslims and far-left activists united in the timeless political tradition of shouting about Israel and occasionally smashing things.

At the same time, Christianity in France — once the cultural backbone of the country — continues its rapid collapse.

So to summarise Europe’s grand social experiment: Christianity is being diluted and disappearing. Islam is being radicalised and growing. The political class insist everything is fine.

We know we are fast approaching the return of Jesus. Why? Because there are 2000 prophecies of Jesus return and what is next on God’s agenda for planet Earth; Jesus Millennial Kingdom. The nation Israel is central to end times prophecies and it did not exist prior to 1948. Israel being reborn in one day is therefore the prime end times prophecy and proof the Bible is God’s word. The rest of Biblical end times prophecies are playing out in our day. Another big one is apostasy, a great falling away in the church.

Matthew 24:10-12 (Jesus’ Olivet Discourse on end-times signs; many will fall away amid false prophets and lawlessness): “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”

2 Thessalonians 2:3 (the classic “great falling away” or “great apostasy” verse, directly stating it must precede the Day of the Lord): “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition…” (Context: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 describes this as a prerequisite event before the revelation of the Antichrist and final judgment.)

1 Timothy 4:1-3 (the Holy Spirit explicitly warns of departure from the faith in “latter times”): “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.“

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (in the last days, people will reject sound doctrine for teachers who affirm their desires): “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (perilous times in the “last days,” with a form of godliness but denying its power—characteristic of institutional/church apostasy): “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”

EXTREMIST ISLAMIC IDEOLOGY TARGETED JEWS AT BONDI ATTACK

Antisemitism and terrorism are both moral and national security crises that demand clear conviction and courageous leadership. On this issue, I believe our leaders have lost their moral compass. When leaders lack moral clarity, conviction falters, courage diminishes, and wisdom is absent. The result is blurred priorities, inconsistent justice, and a failure to confront the threats that truly endanger our society. I would say there’s hypocrisy at play.

Grieving for Our Nation After the Bondi Terrorist Attack

It is extremely hypocritical to voice your concern about antisemitism while allowing weekly demonstrations featuring hate-filled chants and terrorist flags, often carried by masked activists.

It is hypocritical to say you oppose terrorism while capitulating to it so completely through the recognition of a Palestinian state after the October 7 genocide. This reflects neither strength of character nor national resilience.

Misguided Policies

It is misguided to suggest that further gun control alone will prevent acts of terrorism, particularly when those intent on violence do not respect the law. A stronger focus must be placed on building a nation grounded in shared values.

Australia is a multiracial nation, and that diversity has long been a strength. Social cohesion, however, depends on shared values rather than parallel cultures.

Immigration policy should therefore prioritise integration and a common commitment to the principles that hold our society together. Clearly, this has been absent from immigration policy.

Words such as diversity, multiculturalism, tolerance, and respect ring hollow when they result in passive acceptance of a murderous ideology. Equating antisemitism with Islamophobia, and distancing terrorist organisations from religion, is naïvely at best and cowardly at worst. Not all Muslims are terrorists, but the terrorist ideology is clearly rooted in religion.

Priority of the Gospel

In saying all of this, the failure in public policy must not lead to a compromise of our Christian disciplines.

We are called to love our neighbours and bless our enemies. We must continue to shine the light of Christ to all Australians, including Muslim communities, some of whom have come to Australia as refugees escaping violence. We must share the gospel of Jesus Christ and the all-sufficiency of his grace. But we must also pray that Australia’s laws and policies will be built from a position of moral clarity. They must address antisemitism by condemning and penalising real hatred and threats of violence.

The future of a free, just, and compassionate Australia depends on those willing to defend truth and act wisely in public life, with antisemitism recognised and addressed as the urgent threat it truly is.

Now that we are fast approaching the return of Jesus Christ we need to warn our family and friends and whoever God brings into our circle of influence of the coming judgement on the unrepentant prior to Jesus return to rescue Israel and usher in His Millennial Kingdom (http://www.millennialkingdom.net).
