Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You the only true God and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:1-3

What amazing words and JESUS spoke them knowing within hours He would be crucified. 

He also warned them; “Indeed the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think they are offering a service to God. And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me. But I have told you these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you.” John 16:2-4 and”I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take what is mine and declare it to you.” John 16:12-14. 

Surely, this is proof enough, JESUS is who He said He was. Whatever He prophesied came to pass. It happened.

The HOLY SPIRIT did come upon the believers at Pentecost just as JESUS told them. It transformed them and empowered them to live their lives knowing they had eternal life. The Holy Spirit comes to ALL believers in JESUS, to empower them to live the Christian life. Christians know the truth because the Spirit of truth dwells within them.

JESUS also told them, He would be killed and resurrected in three days. Here in John 16:16, He said, ” A little while, and you will see me no longer; but again a little while, and you will see Me.” The disciples had no idea what JESUS was talking about. “JESUS knew that they wanted to ask Him, so He said to them, “Is this what you are asking yourselves, what I meant by saying, ‘A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me’? John 16:19

“Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy.” John 16:20

We know these nobodies (fishermen and tax collectors) went on to change the world by preaching the Good News.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16

Jesus Christ the Creator, God the Son, though totally sinless, took on human nature, so He could become our Redeemer. He suffered on our behalf the penalty for mankind’s sin, which is death and separation from God. He did this to satisfy the righteous demands of the holiness and justice of God, His Father. All who truly believe in Him, repent of their sin and trust in Him have eternal life in a restored relationship with their Creator God.

GIANT’S CAUSEWAY & CAUSEWAY COAST

No matter what part of the world you live in, there will be rocks in your locality that were formed during the Flood of Noah’s day. It is time to increasingly ‘take them back’, renouncing the millions of years and the naturalistic interpretations attached to such formations, and explaining their true origins and spiritual significance. Obviously this will require careful study of the local rocks from a biblical geological perspective, but for those who are serious about making the effort, Tas Walker’s ‘Biblical Geological Model’ is a good place to start.

The Giant’s Causeway, Heritage Site in Northern Ireland has been subject of much debate in recent years concerning how and when the 40,000 interlocking basalt columns were formed. The debate regularly sees calls to censor any creationist interpretations of the site, and attracted world attention in July 2012 when the new Causeway tourist centre included a small reference to the existence of this alternative viewpoint. Secularists were quick to mount a noisy objection. CMI has published a number of articles explaining, for instance, how the Causeway would have formed during Noah’s Flood and the significance of the reddish inter-basaltic beds at Giant’s Causeway.

In the current battle of worldviews we need to take back the history of these stones. As with all rocks that were formed during the Flood they are not just a ‘pile of stones’, but have a huge spiritual significance. As a visible demonstration of God’s judgement on mankind’s sin, the stones give us the opportunity to tell our children and many other people of God’s actions in history.

Such real life geological examples can then be used to orientate and point people to the truth of the Bible and the need for their salvation which can only be found in the Lord Jesus Christ—see Acts 4:12. There is overwhelming evidence found in the stones all around us, consistent with a worldwide Flood at the time of Noah; for examples see polystrate fossils, fast octopus fossils, hundreds of jellyfish fossils, flat gaps and much more at Geology Q&A’s. God has not hidden from view the evidence of His previous judgement of sin. It is also an important reminder of God’s coming final judgment of sin at the prophesied end of this cursed earth and heaven.

Iraqui Jihadist declares a new Caliphate

On Friday, July 4th, a 42-year-old Iraqi Jihadist leader who fights under the name Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi appeared in a mosque in the city of Mosul, which his group ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) had seized weeks earlier, along with swathes of Iraq and Syria. Al-Baghdadi, dressed in long black robes delivered a sermon announcing that he would henceforth be known as Caliph Ibrahim, emir of the faithful in the Islamic state.

A caliphate is an Islamic state – and then some. In theory, a caliphate is more than just a country that happens to be officially Muslim; it is supposed to encompass every Muslim on earth. The last time that sort of caliphate existed was many centuries ago. But the word caliphate still evokes the idea of a glorious and unified Islamic civilization.

What does a caliph do, exactly?

Originally, the caliph was the person who took over Mohammed’s (1) rule over the unified Islamic state and (2) responsibility for all Muslims. Over the next seven hundred years, Mohammed’s memory obviously faded, but those remained the two defining responsibilities: rule over a unified Islamic state and bear responsibility for the community of all Muslims, or the ummah.

The present-day Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in declaring himself a caliph and his terrorist mini-state a caliphate, is communicating that he believes he is fighting on behalf of all Muslims worldwide (he does not count Shia Muslims in this, only Sunnis) and that he is the representative of God on earth. He is also sort of suggesting a desire to continue ISIS’s advance until he has conquered all Muslim-majority lands, which is an aspiration that’s hinted at frequently in jihadist maps of a unified Islamic empire – see map above.

Could this man lead the armies in the battle of Gog and Magog referred to in Ezekiel 38 & 39 which occurs about the middle of The Tribulation?

Financial Crisis Inevitable – going to end badly say the experts

If this dialogue between two well known and respected financial experts doesn’t convince you we are in the Biblical end times nothing will.

Chris Martenson of Peak Prosperity interviews John Rubino author of two best sellers “The Crash of the Dollar” and “The Money Bubble”.

You need to listen to these two experts because they know that whilst the 2008 Economic Crisis was bad, the next one is going to be humungous. Why, because governments have allowed those that created the problem which was ‘out of control debt’ to try and fix it with more debt. People who should have been jailed are still there creating another big debt bubble which is then fixed with more debt. We see the smart architects of the problem get out and sound the warning of impending disaster. They caused the problem but now want to be seen as the voice of sanity. People like Greenspan write best selling books and still earn a fortune on the author circuit.

It can only end badly says John Rubino. “Debt is growing beyond all reason, it is going to end badly, it is beyond our control”.

Governments are already preparing for civil unrest and domestic terrorism. During the 2008 crisis the government was days away from instituting martial law. Well, the debt situation is exponentially larger with no fix possible because the complexity of the deregulated financial markets is such that even the experts can’t predict what will happen, let alone governments. They will have difficulty working out what happened and who was responsible even after the collapse. Listen to some of the descriptions: “Moral corruption in governments”, “Financial markets devolving into a branch of the Mafia”, “Sound money is a moral issue”, “Need to impose financial morality on governments”.

John Rubino suggests a good solution for each of us at the end of the interview. Get together with your local community and start preparing now for the inevitable.

As Christians we know what is coming and we know the ultimate solution – Jesus ruling and reigning on this earth. In the meantime we should be doing what He taught us to pray for “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. Let us play our part in bringing His Kingdom to bear in our sphere of influence. Let our church and our families be examples of what His Kingdom looks like.

In February 2013, I gave a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast. Standing a few feet from President Obama, I warned my fellow citizens of the dangers facing our country and called for a return to the principles that made America great.

Many Americans heard and responded, but our nation’s decline has continued. Today the danger is greater than ever before, and I have never shared a more urgent message than I do now. Our growing debt and deteriorating morals have driven us far from the founders’ intent. We’ve made very little progress in basic education. Obamacare threatens our health, liberty, and financial future. Media elitism and political correctness are out of control. Worst of all, we seem to have lost our ability to discuss important issues calmly and respectfully regardless of party affiliation or other differences. As a doctor rather than a politician, I care about what works, not whether someone has an (R) or a (D) after his or her name. We have to come together to solve our problems. Knowing that the future of my grandchildren is in jeopardy because of reckless spending, godless government, and mean-spirited attempts to silence critics left me no choice but to write this book. I have endeavored to propose a road out of our decline, appealing to every American’s decency and common sense. If each of us sits back and expects someone else to take action, it will soon be too late. But with your help, I firmly believe that America may once again be “one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Sincerely, Ben Carson

God has a plan and purpose for your life

This is GOD’s man for President of the USA in 2016 but will the nation reject him. Take a look at this video and you will see why I believe Ben Carson is God’s man for this time. He understands that all that has gone before in a remarkable life of achievement has been leading up to this moment in HIS STORY. It will be interesting to see how it plays out, but regardless God is in control. Will we see this nation once again reject God as it has been doing progressively as reported in the previous post “God removed from HIS  HISTORY book”?

God removed from HIS STORY books

George Washington

Prior to 1934 an incredible story about George Washington, a man of great faith and a founding father of America appeared in school textbooks. The man who once said; “It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favors.” The story occurred on July 9th, 1755. George Washington was with the British troops under General Edward Braddock when they were ambushed by the French. The Brits were being slaughtered. Washington rode horseback, back and forth across the battle delivering orders from General Braddock to the troops. Every other officer on horseback, except Washington was shot down. Even General Braddock was killed, at which point the troops fled in confusion. Washington wrote to his brother John Washington after the battle: But by the all powerful dispensations of Providence, I have been protected beyond all probability or expectation ; for I had four bullets through my coat , and two horses shot under me, yet escaped unhurt, although death was leveling my companions on every side of me. An old Indian chief recounted fifteen years later that he had been with the French in that battle. “I am a chief and ruler over my tribes. My influence extends to the waters of the great lakes . I have traveled a long and weary path that I might see the young warrior of the great battle. It was on the day when the white man’s blood mixed with the streams of our forests that I first beheld this chief {Washington}. I called to my young men and said, mark yon tall and daring warrior. He is not of the red-coat tribe – he hath an Indian’s wisdom and his warriors fight as we do – himself alone exposed. Quick, let your aim be certain, and he dies. Our rifles were leveled, rifles which, but for you, knew not how to miss – twas all in vain, a power mightier far than we, shielded you. Seeing you were under the special guardianship of the Great Spirit, we immediately ceased firing on you. I am old and soon shall be gathered to the great council fire of my fathers in the land of shades, but ere I go, there is something bids me speak in the voice of prophecy: Listen! The Great Spirit protects that man {pointing at Washington}, and guides his destiny – he will become chief of nations, and a people yet unborn will hail him as the founder of a mighty empire. I come to pay homage to the man who is a particular favorite of Heaven, and who can never die in battle.” 

Why was this story removed from school textbooks in the USA?  As incredible a story as it may seem, the Indian chief’s prophecy was true and of course it demonstrates the outcome of having faith in God – for a person, even a country. This nation chose to inscribe the phrase “In God We Trust” on their money. By doing so they were proclaiming to the world that their trust was not in their money, not in the power that comes from having money – but in God. Sadly whilst the phrase is still on their money God is no longer a reality in most peoples lives. Since the Bible and prayer have also been taken out of American schools is it a coincidence that it is a nation in decline?

The world does not acknowledge it but God is still operating in peoples lives today to change their destinies and those of nations.

EVERY ASPECT OF JESUS BIRTH & LIFE PROPHESIED

“We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote – Jesus of Nazareth” John 1:45
Every aspect of our Lord’s birth, life, character, ministry, arrest, trial, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension were predicted hundreds of years in advance.
We’re told he would be born of a woman (Genesis 3:15); to a virgin (Isaiah 7:14); of the seed of Abraham (Genesis 12:3); of the tribe of Judah (Genesis 49:10); through the line of David (Isaiah 9:7); in Bethlehem Micah 5:2); and that HIS name would be Immanuel (God with us) (Isaiah 7:14).
The virgin birth and all the other aspects of our Lord’s life, having been accurately predicted, were wondrously fulfilled, proving His origin and identity. Jesus told His enemies to search the Old Testament Scriptures, for “these are they which testify of Me” (John 5:39).
The same Bible that pinpointed His first coming is brimming with references to His return. Let’s rejoice in His virgin birth today, and await His victorious return.

JESUS birth prophesied by Micah

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to ME the ONE to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting” Micah 5:2 NKJV

This prophecy impacted history in a powerful and tragic way. In Matthew 2:1,2 we read “After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him”. The next verse says “When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him”. He called together his chief priests and teachers of the law and asked them where the Christ was to be born. They of course searched the OT scrolls and found this verse in Micah . The prophecy is very specific. It said the baby must be born in Bethlehem Ephrathah. Since there were two towns called Bethlehem, one near Nazareth and another south of Jersualem in the region Ephrathah, the distinction was important. What else did the prophecy reveal that shook Herod to the core? It clearly said that the one to be born had lived from everlasting. Even secular history records the following event: Herod ordered the death of all male children under the age of two. Satan through Herod did his utmost to kill Jesus.

As I mentioned in an earlier post on PROPHECY, it is one of the most powerful evidences of the TRUTH of the BIBLE. We have 300 more prophecies of Jesus birth, life, ministry, death and RESURRECTION in the OT which clearly reveals it is GOD breathed. The authors were led by the Holy Spirit to write the TRUTH.

The Nativity Scene pictured is up on top of “The Place” in Evergreen, Colorado. It is 30m x 12 m high with 2,600 light bulbs. It was an effort by my son Brett to put Christ back into Christmas.
