Pergamon’s most prominent feature was the Great Altar of Zeus, which some scholars suggest could be the “throne” referred to in Revelation. This altar, with its imposing structure and intricate friezes, symbolized the pervasive influence of paganism and idolatry in the region.

“I know where you live, where Satan’s throne is. Yet you hold fast to My name and have not denied your faith in Me, even in the days when My faithful witness, Antipas, was killed among you, where Satan dwells” (Revelation 2:13).
