TURKEY INTENT ON REESTBLISHING ITS OTTOMAN EMPIRE

Turkey just delivered a major blow to Russia, putting Putin in a tight spot over Crimea and shifting the balance in the Black Sea region. Erdogan’s recent call for Crimea’s return to Ukraine is a strategic move, one Putin didn’t see coming. This isn’t just about land—control of Crimea is crucial for dominance in the Black Sea. With a long history of rivalry and Erdogan’s assertive neo-Ottoman vision, Turkey is challenging Russia like never before. Will Erdogan’s power play pay off?

A significant Biblical end-times prophecy is that Turkey (the Goat of Daniel 8) will be successful in re-establishing a revived Ottoman Empire but only for a short period and then it will be broken into four nations. My guess is that it will be the United Nations that will not countenance a revived Ottoman Empire that they do not control so it breaks it up into four nations.

Then the goat became exceedingly great, but when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and instead of it there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven.
Out of one of them came a little horn, which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land.
Daniel 8:8-9

Before the above, we are yet to see in Biblical prophecy Turkey (Sunni) putting down Iran (Shia, the Ram of Daniel 8). Iran is already doing what Biblical prophecy says it will do push westward, northward, and southward with its proxies Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis, and groups Iraq, Syria, and Bahrain. So next in Biblical prophecy is Turkey exerting its dominance in the Muslim world by putting down Iran.

I saw the ram (Iran) charging westward and northward and southward. No beast could stand before him, and there was no one who could rescue from his power.” Daniel 8:4

And the goat (Turkey) had a conspicuous horn between his eyes. He came to the ram (Iran) with the two horns, which I had seen standing on the bank of the canal, and he ran at him in his powerful wrath… And the ram had no power to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled on him. Daniel 8: 5-7

It is out of one of these four nations that the little Horn (Antichrist) arises. “Out of one of them came a little horn, which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land.” Daniel 8:9

We can use these prophecies to evangelize (apocalyptic evangelism). God has revealed these future events so that we know He is in control but also to use this information to bring others to a knowledge of Him and the truth.

UN HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL PUSH BACK ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Meeting in Geneva, the UN Human Rights Council has received a report recommending member states push back on freedom of religion, as a basis of objection to demands from LGBT+ and abortion activists. Presenting his latest report to the Council, Victor Madrigal-Borloz, the Independent Expert on sexual orientation and gender identity, said violence, discrimination, and exclusion can have severe and negative consequences for the personhood, dignity, and spirituality of LGBT+ persons. “They are often marginalised, stigmatised, and excluded from religious communities simply because of who they are,” he told the meeting.

In his report to the Council, the UN expert criticised “traditional values,” “public morals” and “national values” when cited to deny what he said were “the human rights of women, LGBT+ persons and religious and belief minorities”, especially when linked with “patriotism and patriarchal gender and family norms”.

In a series of conclusions matched by recommendations, he cited United Nations treaty monitoring bodies who have emphasised that “States cannot permit conscience-based refusals of healthcare” as a basis to infringe on abortion demands. The paper also urges States to look at punitive measures for those who hold to orthodox views, saying they must “encourage religious institutions to consider the ways in which representatives will be held responsible in cases in which they promote discrimination against LGBT+ and other gender diverse persons”

The United Nations in conjunction with the World Economic Forum (WEF) is playing its part in bringing about the Biblical prophesied end times, one world government and its leader, the Antichrist. This charismatic leader will arise out of the Middle East. The Muslim world will see him as their prophesied Messiah, the Mahdi and he may well be appointed head of the UN, bearing in mind that 56 of the 163 member nations are Muslim nations.

Note in this chart the high % of Muslims that expect the Mahdi to return in their lifetime.

Iran is not shown on this list but considering the content of the video above the % will be high similar to Turkey and Iraq.

The next major prophesied event on God’s end times calendar will be Turkey (Sunni) finally putting down Iran (Shia) and exerting its previous dominance over the Muslim world by attempting to re-establish a revived Ottoman Empire.

The UN will not allow this to happen and it is broken up into four kingdoms out of which the Little Horn, the Antichrist arises. Note Scripture tells us that his power is not his own. He is empowered by Satan.

ANTICHRIST ARISES OUT OF ONE OF THE FOUR KINGDOMS RESULTING FROM THE BREAK UP OF A REVIVED OTTOMAN EMPIRE

Then the goat (revived Ottoman Empire) became exceedingly great, but when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and instead of it there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven.
Out of one of them came a little horn, which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land.
Daniel 8:8-9

As for the horn that was broken, in place of which four others arose, four kingdoms shall arise from his nation, but not with his power. And at the latter end of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their limit, a king of bold face, one who understands riddles, shall arise. His power shall be great—but not by his own power, and he shall cause fearful destruction and shall succeed in what he does, and destroy mighty men and the people who are the saints. By his cunning, he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind, he shall become great. Without warning, he shall destroy many. And he shall even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he shall be broken—but by no human hand.Daniel 8:22-25

TURKEY’S ROLE IN THE END TIMES

Under Erdogan, Turkey has put Islam back in place of secularism and is asserting itself once again as the dominant Muslim nation as it was in the days of the Ottoman Empire.

The Ottoman Empire was founded in 1299 by Osman Ghazi and consistently grew from 1299 to 1683. The first 10 rulers of the Ottoman Empire were considered the most successful kings. Of particular note was Suleiman the Magnificent. It was during his reign that the Ottoman Empire rose to its peak of power and domination.

The Ottomans proved their strength in the Battle of Djerba in 1560. During the naval battle the Ottomans inflicted 10-20 times as many casualties as they sustained from the Christian alliance’s navy. The path was open for another attack on Malta.

The Great Siege of Malta was the major turning point for the Ottoman Turks. The Knights of Malta led by Grand Master Jean Parisot de La Valette played the lead role.

Queen Elizabeth I stated, “If the Turks should prevail against the Isle of Malta, it is uncertain what further peril might follow to the rest of Christendom.”

The rulers of numerous Christian realms and military orders soon put aside their differences, partially inspired by the Siege of Malta, and formed the Holy League. The Holy League went on to win a decisive victory against the Ottomans at the Battle of Lepanto six years later. And the Knights Hospitaller, later the Knights of Malta, still have their headquarters on the island to this day.

The Ottoman period spanned more than 600 years and came to an end only in 1922 after WW1 when it was replaced by the Turkish Republic and various successor states in southeastern Europe and the Middle East.

The popular Turkish reaction to the reconversion of Hagia Sophia (known as Aya Sophia in Turkish) cannot be explained without reference to these historical facts. The attempt by the “Christian” allied powers to carve up the Turkish homeland in addition to detaching the non-Turkish portions of the Ottoman Empire and dividing them up among themselves have been strong reminders for the Turks over generations of their loss of greatness. The transformation of Hagia Sophia from a mosque to a museum was perceived as a part of this loss that needed to be remedied.

The mosque of Hagia Sophia was a major symbol of the Ottoman victory over the Byzantine Empire in 1453 and an emblem of Turkish pride. Ataturk’s decision to turn it into a museum to display its dual Byzantine and Islamic heritage was an attempt to demonstrate both a break from what he considered to be the decrepit Ottoman past and to establish Turkey’s credentials as a “civilized” nation in the eyes of the West. But, this decision had been resented by the religiously observant Turkish masses imbued with the combined spirit of Islam and Ottomanism.

Thus, the reconversion of Hagia Sophia into a mosque, which it had been for close to five hundred years, as a move to revive his dwindling popularity appeared an attractive and relatively costless proposition to Erdogan. However, such a move cannot succeed in a vacuum for it would not work if it did not touch a vital chord in Turkish hearts. That the decision would appeal to a large majority of Turks is the gamble that Erdogan has taken and there is sufficient evidence to conclude that it has worked.

FORMATION OF TEN NATION CONFEDERATION

Dalton does an excellent job of looking at Ezekiel 38 and explaining how it relates to our time. Scripture tells us that the current geographical nations that are involved in the “end times” ten-nation confederacy include Magog (Turkey), Meshech (Turkey) and Tubal (Turkey), Persia (Iran), Cush (Sudan), Put (Libya), Gomer (Turkey, Armenia Azerbaijan) Beth-togarmah, Sheba and Dedan (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Yemen). All are Muslim mid-eastern nations – a revived Ottoman Empire.

May I suggest you take a look at my previous post “Turkey’s Role in the End Times” before you watch Dalton’s video. That is of course if you have not viewed it already.

MORE ON IRAN AND TURKEY IN THE END TIMES

Is Bible Prophecy happening right now in the Middle East? When most see the recent actions of Iran and Turkey they think the Middle East is falling apart. But is it actually falling into line with what the Bible has predicted right from the start? Has the prophecy in Daniel 8 started to be fulfilled? What are the implications for the near future of the Middle East?

To learn even more about what the Bible says about Middle Eastern nations in the end times watch Nelson’s series on the book of Daniel.
