For those interested in supporting the Kenya House Church Movement, I am putting up this interim report Charles had given me on their very successful mission trip to Londiani in 2021. It has a lot of images that speak volumes. It was in my LEN Draft Posts area that I had overlooked.
Dear Ron,
Gladly, our mission to Londiani is progressing well. Interestingly, unlike many of the places we have visited, quite a big number have been turning up to hear our gospel massage. The big number in attendance has forced us to hire one more tent which has blown our budget,. I will share more on this tomorrow. Today we visited a nearby hospital and prayed for a young boy who has been bedridden for a period of time. In the pictures, you will be able to see a young sick boy, and our Londiani hosts. More on the progress of our mission trip here will be given to you tomorrow.
Final report for 2021 from Charles Otieno Owino leader of KHC. It was prepared following an end-of-year meeting of the KHC leaders.
KHC leaders at the recent (end of year) 2021 meeting in Migori
KHC 2021 OVERVIEW OF PROGRESS:
2021 was the most successful year for us here, since KHC was founded upon the revelation of God’s word, and prayers in 2010. In every place we visited with the gospel, a positive outcome was realized and despite a few challenges from religious leaders, we were able to sail through and we give God the glory! HOUSE CHURCH GROUPS: We are pleased to report we have been able to plant fourteen house church groups, with thirteen in Kenya and one in Nyamuzi, Tanzania. Mubachi in Migori region, – Buembu in Migori region, – Kokendi in Migori region, – Bondo in Migori region, – Ong’er in Nyatike region, – Ndhiwa in Homa-Bay region, – Karungu in Nyatike region, – Opapo in Rongo region, – Nyarombo in Migori region, -Lidha in Karungu region, -Ogembo in Kisii region, Ogembo in Kericho region, – Kogaja in Busia region, -Nyamuzu, in Tanzania.
In Kehancha, Kuria region, God has given us a breakthrough, and a wide door is opened for the KHC team to visit the region on January 13th-17th, 2022. Hopefully, a new church group will be founded there.
We expect exciting additions in 2022, and it is our hope and prayers that in 2022 the KHC team will be able to take the gospel to places, we were not able to visit in 2021.
NUMBER OF CHURCH GROUPS MEMBERS:
In 2021, many lives have been reached for Jesus Christ and an additional five church groups were founded. Also, we have witnessed a greater increase of members than in previous years.
The total number of our church group members in the 8 church groups has increased from 300 in 2020, to 398 in 2021.
DISCIPLESHIP & EVANGELISM CAMPAIGNS:
Discipleship and evangelism are at the heart of the KHC movement. And at our last meeting, we have resolved that KHC will go on discipleship & evangelism mission trips twice a month. In 2021, our evangelism team led by pastor Jacob was able to visit many places, ministering in market places, villages, hospitals, prisons, and schools to marginalized families and destitute children, sharing with them the love of God and leading many to Jesus Christ. In the past 12 months, KHC team members have been able to visit 14 secondary schools, 25 homes, 5 prisons, 5 hospitals, 15 marketplaces, and ministered to 150 orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).
3) TRAINING THE TRAINERS:
In 2021, KHC was able to give training to 4 potential house church leaders and after undergoing our training for six months they are now being sent out as ambassadors for Jesus Christ with the sole aim of making disciples and starting a house church group. This year, two of our disciples & trainees will be sent to Mwanza in Tanzania as ambassadors for Christ.
4) WEEKLY BIBLE STUDIES:
Here at KHC, we have a weekly Bible study, whereby church group members meet once a week to pray and search the scriptures.
5) EMPOWERING THE POOR:
KHC has an ongoing empowering programme to help support widows, orphans, and needy members in the KHC movement. Every church group is encouraged to start an income-generating project, such as Maize farming, growing vegetables, dairy farming, shopkeeping, poultry keeping, second-hand cloth business, etc, this is to help support our church group members to become financially stable
KHC PLANS FOR 2022:
Zoom meetings:
KHC movement still has unfulfilled plans to buy a large screen TV and a computer to help KHC leaders to link with LEN and other parachurch organizations to hold zoom meetings. This will help KHC learn and share end time signs of Jesus second coming and other teachings about the millennium Kingdom
Discipleship & Evangelism:
In 2022 the KHC movement plans to take its discipleship making programme and evangelism campaigns to new regions, and territories, moving outside the current eleven regions
Bible study programme
KHC still has an unfulfilled plan to open a KHC library, where some books from recommended authors can be loaned out. This will help our members to learn and understand from different authors about the last day’s church, prophetic end-times signs of Jesus second coming, living eternal now and about building a kingdom business, etc.
Income-generating projects:
KHC still has an unfulfilled plan to open up a medical facility/laboratory where church group members, and other people from the neighborhood communities, can come for medical check-up, and treatment at a minimal, affordable fee. Hopefully, this will help the financial stability and growth of the KHC movement.
2022 KHC GOALS:
To spread the gospel far and wide as God leads and to make disciples who will make more disciples of Christ. We have set a goal for 2022 of reaching out to 700 people with the gospel and starting up 6 more house church groups planted on a proper Biblical foundation.
The growth of this discipleship movement is a God-led blessing from Ron Edwards, founder of the website http://www.livingeternal.net (Living Eternal Now), and supporters who have helped with prayers and finances. Thank you all! KHC FORTH-COMING MISSION TRIP: On Jan, 13th-17th, 2022, KHC planters will go on a four days mission trip to Kehancha in the Kuria region. For some time now, we have had requests from brothers there for us to send an evangelism team. At our recent leader’s meeting, we resolved to visit this region. Request: KHC is requesting prayers and financial help of Aus$ 300 from our LEN team members to help us go on this mission. You are all a significant part of our success in growing this important discipleship movement in Kenya.
Respectfully Charles Otieno Owino.
I am hoping that some of the followers of LEN will join me this year to support the growth of the KHC movement. As Charles stated above, one of the projects we have not been able to fund is the purchase of a large screen TV and computer and a WiFi plan for Charles so that I and others can connect with him on Zoom. Also, I would like to purchase some books in English and Swahili for training and the proposed KHC library.
I have set up a Donations icon for KHC donations on the LEN Home Page.
Aliyah (immigration to Israel) surged in 2021, with the 27,050 new arrivals from across the globe representing a 30% increase over the previous year’s 21,820 Olim (immigrants), according to statistics released Wednesday by the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, the Jewish Agency for Israel, and Nefesh B’Nefesh.
This past year also brought a record-breaking 4,000 Olim from the US, who arrived in Israel with the assistance of Nefesh B’Nefesh. Immigration from the US in 2021 constituted a 30% increase over 2020 and the highest annual number of Olim from the US since 1973. Another 400 Olim arrived this year from Canada, bringing the expected total of Olim from North America in 2021 to over 4,400.
The Aliyah numbers also show a 40% uptick in Aliyah from France this year compared to 2020, with the arrival of 3,500Olim, the highest number of arrivals from that country in the last four years.
“Olim (immigrants) are an incredible growth engine for the Israeli economy and are a national, economic, and moral powerhouse for the nation.”
Aliyah is facilitated by the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and The Jewish Agency, together with Nefesh B’Nefesh, Ofek Israeli, The Jewish Federations of North America, Keren Hayesod, The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, and friends of Israel from around the world.
Minister of Aliyah and Integration Pnina Tamano-Shata stated that “Aliyah continues to break records. Despite the pandemic and its limitations, Aliyah to Israel did not stop and we’re happy to welcome tens of thousands of Olim who chose to make Aliyah this year.
The Bible reveals God will regather the Jews from all the Nations and on Jesus’ return, with Him ruling and reigning, Israel will realise her destiny as head of the Nations.
The regathering began in 1948 when Israel was miraculously re-established as a nation. This was the first major prophesied “end-times” sign.
“Thus says the Lord God:Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land. And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms. They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But I will save them from all the backslidings in which they have sinned and will cleanse them, and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.” Ezekiel 37:21-23
The priest and prophet Ezekiel lived during the darkest days of Judah’s history: the seventy-year period of Babylonian captivity. The fact he wrote this prophecy at that time is proof positive this is the word of God.
Artificial intelligence is fast becoming a “normal” part of our lives, and in ways, we often don’t even notice until after it’s happened.
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and other social platforms are all using artificial intelligence (AI) to discover more about you and your family, and even to gain control of certain aspects of your life. Did you also know that many of the products you purchase use AI to learn more about you? They can track where you are, what you’re doing, even who you’re with.
Best-selling author Wallace Henley’s new book, Who Will Rule the Coming ‘Gods’?, offers groundbreaking spiritual insight into these emerging AI technologies. This is a “must-read” book, not only for church and business leaders, but for all of us who are fast becoming dependent on AI, robots, and other forms of advanced technology.
The existential crisis of our age is how technology, specifically AI and robots, is eclipsing our reverence for the transcendence of God. In the rush to create human-helping AI, technologists are making machines that may eventually become our masters. Henley’s new book exposed how some people are already worshiping at the feet of the great god of AI, just as the ancient Philistines once bowed before statues of the idol Dagon.
In this compelling and groundbreaking book, Henley shares about the impending moral and ethical choices we will all soon need to make, as believers in Christ, to hold AI and its creators accountable to the true God. This is all part of the prophesied end-times scenario that leads up to God pouring out His wrath on an unrepentant world.
It is interesting that C.S.Lewis predicted in his book “Abolition of Man” that a group of elites who think of themselves as progressives and (somehow) know what the future of humanity should be and they are determined to make everyone fall into line by following the direction that they dictate.
The World Economic Forum where the global elites meet has already predicted what life for humans will look like after their proposed “Great Reset,” foreseeing the “age of human robots” will come to an end as people will be replaced by technology. Also, the WEF predicted in a 2016 video that a “happy” future would only be possible where individuals no longer owned property.
The following shows some of the reviews of Henley’s book by both religious and scientific leaders. “This book lays out a comprehensive description of the future world that our godless technological and enormously rich elites envision. But what should be the response of the God-fearing people? That is the important message of this book.” -Otis Graf, PhD, Aerospace Engineering, NASA Apollo 8 Moon Project, and the Space Shuttle
“A compelling look at a dystopic future controlled by Artificial Intelligence that has transcended above mankind as an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present “god”. Wallace Henley examines how technology has changed our culture’s view of God by providing us fingertip access to all the known information in history through our phones and computers. It’s not a stretch of the imagination to see how the journey outlined in this book will result in future AI advancements and technological evolution that will rival and eclipse mankind’s relationship with the One True Living God.” -Keith Carmichael, Associate Pastor, Second Baptist Church, Houston, Former Captain in USAF and NASA Space Station Design Team
“This book invites readers into a critical conversation surrounding the realities of artificial intelligence, humanity, and godhood. Excellent read!” -Rachel Leong, Former White House Aide, Legislative Aide, The United States Senate
Henley’s book is a clarion call for believers in Christ to wake up and urge our world to stop letting technology replace our one true God.
Are the 7 Letters to the churches of Revelation simply instructions on Christian living or are they a prophecy of churches at the end of the age – a prophecy to the Church of Jesus Christ as it endures and overcomes the 70th Week of Daniel?
The prophecy of 70 Weeks (Shabuim) is the central Biblical proof text to show that a Hebrew man named Yeshua (Jesus) was the expected Messiah who confirmed, fulfilled the O.T. promises of a coming Redeemer.
The 70th week is the final week of the 70 Weeks prophecy. God gives us a lot of information on this final week. He reveals that it is a time of great tribulation for Christians. God refines His church during this time and we are coming to realise now that as many as 50% of so-called Christians are in fact not born again and will fall away during this time of persecution.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:9-14
Back to the seven churches: if it is a prophecy, what do each of the letters to the churches mean? Are these instructions on how to overcome the end times? Watch a complete in-depth analysis of what each letter means.
This study finds the correlation between the 7 Letters to the churches of Revelation and the 7 Seals of Revelation.
When you read the message to the Church of Philadelphia it is obvious that it is the church that is raptured as it is “kept from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world“
“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens. “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name… Because you have kept my word about patient endurance,I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.” Revelation 3:10-11
Whereas the next church, the church of Laodicea is the church that is left behind and why.
“And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation. ‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:15-17
Deep reflection by Torben as he considers 2022. What God has been able to achieve with this man and his family once he surrendered control to God is remarkable. Make sure you watch the video when you have time to reflect on your own life and the extent of your commitment to our Lord and Saviour. Let me also give you several appropriate Scriptures to reflect on as well.
“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.” Romans 13:14
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
We often see the verse “I can do all things through Him that strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 however, rarely do we see the verses that immediately precede it.
“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.“Philippians 4:11-13
A relationship with God is among the three most common subjects of New Year’s resolutions, particularly among younger Americans, according to a new Lifeway Research survey.
The Lifeway Research poll found that 44% of respondents said they’ve made a resolution about their health in the past. Additionally, 29% said they’ve made a resolution about their relationship with God, and another 29% have made a resolution about their finances.
Those ages 18-34 (35%) and 35-49 (35%) were more likely to make faith the subject of their New Year’s resolutions than those 50-64 (25%) and 65 and older (17%).
Home Bible Study Group
About half (48%) of Christians who attend a worship service at least four times a month said they’ve made a resolution about their relationship with God. By contrast, just 20% of those who attend less than once a month have done so.
Black Americans (41%) are more likely to have made a resolution about God than white Americans (27%), and the religiously unaffiliated were much more likely to have made a resolution about money (36%), time (29%) or work (22%) than about God (14%).
Among all Americans, other popular resolution topics include those about relationships with a family member (26%), use of time (22%), work (18%) and relationships with a friend (15%).
The Lifeway Survey comes on the heels of an earlier study conducted this year by Evangelical pollster George Barna and the Family Research Council, which found that only 6% of Americans have a “biblical worldview.” This statistic is most troubling because we know from the parable of the ten virgins, which is a parable that Jesus told the disciples when they asked him about the “end times” that Jesus prophesied that 50% of Christians are not born again. All ten virgins were waiting for their bridegroom but only half had oil for their lamps and when they returned with oil Jesus told them to go “I do not know you”.
“Afterward, the other virgins came also, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” Matthew 25:11
This clearly teaches us that half of the people who call themselves Christians are not born again of the Holy Spirit and will be the church of Laodicea which is left behind to experience the wrath of God poured out with the Trumpet and Bowl judgements. Note above that about half (48%) of Christians who attend a worship service at least four times a month said they’ve made a resolution about their relationship with God.
.”And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation. “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.” Revelation 3:14-19
How different from the church of Philadelphia that was raptured and kept from the hour of trial (wrath of God).
“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens. “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name… Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth. I am coming soon.Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.” Revelation 3:7-8,10-11
Can I suggest when thinking about 2022 you adopt David’s approach as given in Psalm 31:14.
“But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hand”
Most Christians believe we’re in the end times, but are they doing anything to prepare?
Jesus told us that before the Great Tribulation, a time period known as the “Beginning of Birth Pangs” would take place. Do world events show us that that time period has already begun? How long are the birth pangs? What event initiated them or will start them in the future. Watch this Nelson Walters video for surprising answers.
These three biblical truths are better than a new year resolution because they will change your thinking and make success possible.
God used the prophet Isaiah to encourage the Children of Israel after they lived in exile for many years. The people no longer believed they had a successful future. Negative thinking patterns kept them trapped. The message delivered by the prophet offered a new way forward for the Children of Israel, and it will do the same for you.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” Isaiah 43:18–19
What does God want you to do in 2022
1) Forget the Former Things
“Former things” have the power to keep us stuck if we’re not careful. God wants us to understand that despite our past failures, He still has a plan for our future. The path to achieving our goals starts with the decision to forget the former things. You must believe that you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength (Philippians 4:13). If you don’t forget the former things, you may not even try to make a new year resolution.
2) Perceive What God Is Doing
Jesus made it possible for our Heavenly Father to send the Holy Spirit to be our counsellor, teacher and comforter so we must learn how to perceive where He is taking us, even when it is not working out as planned. You may not see the full manifestation of your purpose right now, but with prayer God will cause circumstances to spring up which shows the way forward. It could be that a door unexpectedly opens. Or perhaps a door closes that you thought would stay open.
It’s not our place to know every detail about the future, but we must perceive the next step in the journey. In some cases, God has already given us instructions and is waiting for us to make the next move. You must know that God is actively working in your life. If you stop dwelling on the past you can perceive the next step forward.
3) Trust That God Will Make a Way
It’s important to trust God to make the way into the unknown places that we can’t handle on our own. If we have a dream that could happen without any assistance from God, then the dream did not come from God. The prospect of walking into our destiny should feel slightly overwhelming, or perhaps even impossible, without help from above. If we limit our future to what we can handle on our own, we will not step into the deeper things that God is doing.
It’s easy to focus on the unknown variables that make us feel unqualified, but that’s why we are in partnership with God. He will make a way in the wilderness where there is no clear path and provide streams in the wasteland when there are no resources. Don’t give your limitations the power to stop you from moving forward with God’s plans.
Do you need help overcoming negative thinking patterns that sabotage success? Then you may need help. Can I suggest you link with Habit Finder. They can teach you how your thinking patterns are impacting your success. You will discover why changing how you think is far better than a new year resolution.
The latest move to block funds to Mother Teresa’s Christian charity by India’s Ministry of Home Affairs will ensure that it like many other Christian organisations will be forced to shut down. Whilst this is not new, Compassion International, which helped 147,000 children in India, ceased operations in 2017 after it was blocked from receiving foreign funding. In response, more than 100 members of U.S. Congress wrote a letter to India’s interior minister calling on him to allow Compassion International to receive foreign funds to no avail. Also, in 2017, India cut off Believers Church, a network founded by Gospel for Asia’s K.P. Yohannan, and three other associated groups from receiving foreign funds.
A nun, belonging to the global Missionaries of Charity, carries a relic of Mother Teresa of Calcutta before a mass celebrated by Pope Francis for her canonisation in Saint Peter’s Square at the Vatican.
On Monday, Bishop M. Jagjivan, the moderator of the National Christian Council, an organization representing India’s Christian community, told The Wall Street Journal that India’s government has increasingly rejected foreign-funding approvals for Christian groups, forcing many faith-run organizations to shut.
In 2020, the Indian government banned six other Christian groups from receiving foreign funds: New Life Fellowship Association, Evangelical Churches Association of Manipur, Ecreosoculis North Western Gossner Evangelical, and Northern Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Earlier this month, police in India’s western state of Gujarat filed a case against the Missionaries of Charity under the Gujarat Freedom of Religion Act of 2003 for allegedly “hurting Hindu religious sentiments” and “luring” young girls “toward Christianity” in a shelter home it runs in Vadodara city.
A spokesperson for the Missionaries of Charity rejected the allegations of forced conversions as unfounded. “We have not converted anyone or forced anyone to marry into the Christian faith,” the spokesperson said.
Anti-conversion laws penalize only those who leave Hinduism, their birth religion. Thus, India’s anti-conversion laws are discriminatory by selectively hitting hard ONLY those who convert out of Hinduism.
Last week, a mob of 200 to 300 people stormed a Christian school in Madhya Pradesh while students were taking their exams and threw stones at the building, the school’s principal said.
Earlier in December, the Christian community in India’s northern state of Haryana found a life-size statue of Jesus Christ at the entrance to their historic church desecrated and the lighting inside the premises damaged.
Once again this warning given by Jesus to Christians living in these last days is appropriate.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
