JESUS TOLD US THAT IN THE WORLD CHRISTIANS WILL HAVE TROUBLE

This world is fallen, and pain is inevitable, but God understands suffering and for those that repent and accept Jesus as their Lord and saviour He sends the Holy Spirit to be our comforter as well as our counsellor and teacher.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me” Psalm 23:4

We are not forsaken. God, who carried the cross, knows our torment. Jesus wept for Lazarus, bore the lash of betrayal, and drank the full cup of God’s wrath against sin. He is not a distant deity; He is near, catching every tear, feeling every wound. His scarred hands hold us. When the world’s brokenness threatens to drown us, we cling to the One who declares, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Our agony is not unseen; our pain is not without purpose.

Scripture is laden with proof that God understands our suffering with Jesus Himself being the greatest example, for “Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit” (1 Peter 3:18). In John 15:18, Jesus also warned us, “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.”

But 1 Peter 5:10 asks us to hold on, for “after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” And we can find comfort in the promise of Psalm 147:3, “He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.”

God uses tragedy for good.

In the chaos of Charlie’s assassination, as panic gripped and hope flickered, Joseph Backholm of Family Research Council asked God to use this for good. And you know what? He is.

They report people are falling to their knees in prayer. Souls who’ve never darkened a church’s door feel a pull to worship. “I’ve seen hearts break open — people apologizing for venomous words hurled at Charlie, ashamed of their hatred”. Some are abandoning ideologies soaked in malice, seeing them for the poison they are. Others are rising, vowing to carry the torch of truth, to marry and raise families rooted in faith, to use their voices to ignite courage in others. Christians, too, are shaking off their slumber, emboldened to stand unyielding in the face of evil.

It is difficult to fully fathom why such heartbreak is allowed, why evil is permitted to wound so deeply. But know this: God is good. No weapon formed against His purposes will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). As Charles Spurgeon so powerfully said, “I have learned to kiss the wave that slams me into the Rock of Ages.” I despise the pain we endure, but I praise a God rich in grace and mercy, who gives our suffering meaning — who gives us hope in life and death. He takes what evil intends for destruction and weaves it into redemption. As Genesis 50:20 declares, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.”

“Where, o death, is your victory? Where, o grave, is your sting?” 1 Corinthians 15:55

I firmly believe that Charlie was a brother in Christ, which means a brother was taken from us. But do you know what else that means? Charlie is home now having been welcomed with the words all believers long to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

As Christians, we view suffering through the lens of eternity. This world, with all its beauty and brokenness, is not our final destination. Every trial we face, every tear we shed, carries eternal weight because we are running a race toward the finish line. Death does not have the final word. The pain we endure is no match for the blood of Christ. We have hope, now and forever, in His name, because He is the lamb who was slain for us. As Charlie posted days before his death, “Jesus defeated death so you can live.”

The sting of death for the Christian? Gone! Christ has taken that sting for us, and death is now a welcome friend.” Someday soon, we will see, before our very eyes, Jesus returning in the clouds.

Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him… Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?

But as this Scripture reveals, the Antichrist (man of lawlessness0 comes first. Many of the Biblical end times prophecies given to us by Jesus, Paul, John and the O.T. prophets particularly Daniel, Isaiah and Ezekiel are playing out in our day. In Daniel’s seventy weeks prophecy we are given a lot of detail on the the last seven years prior to Jesus return and based on what the UN is doing to implement a two state solution for Israel and Palestine (Peace Treaty) we may be at the beginning of the seven years. As Jesus told us:

“Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:28

HUGE “JESUS IS KING” RALLY IN THE UK

Attended by more than 150,000 people marching through central London on Saturday, the demonstration featured displays of wooden crosses held high, images of Christ on flags, and banners declaring “Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life.”

The rally was organised by former English Defence League leader, Tommy Robinson under the theme “Unite the Kingdom”. It concluded with worship songs and prayer from a platform set up in Whitehall. followed by speeches from far-right politicians from across Europe.

Churchgoers attended despite prior warnings from some London church leaders that the march’s organizers were linked to “division and racial intolerance.”

Ahead of the event, the Bishop of Edmonton and Lead Bishop for Racial Justice, Rt. Rev. Anderson Jeremiah, and Dr. Lisa Adjei, Head of Racial Justice Priority in the Diocese of London, issued a statement saying they were “deeply concerned” by the planned march. “Though framed as a celebration of free speech, it is inextricably linked to voices and movements that have previously contributed to division and racial intolerance. This is at odds with everything we, and millions of Londoners, stand for,” their statement warned.

But according to Brian Tamaki of Destiny Church, New Zealand, the rally was God’s work. He told the crowds from the platform that it was “Christianity undergirding our democracies,” but “we turned our back on God.”

Tamaki said, “We must return to the faith that built our nations strong, and that faith is Jesus Christ. For Jesus Christ is Lord of all nations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” The Pentecostal leader told the crowd, “This is the moment that we should rise up.”

Speaking after the event, organizer Tommy Robinson said the rally was the “spark for a cultural revolution in Britain.” Let us pray that is what eventuates.

Charlie Kirk’s martyrdom has become a catalyst for revival, with countless thousands of people returning to church or attending for the first time the weekend after his assassination. Here are some of their incredible testimonies.

During the past several days, people have flooded the internet with post after post about returning to church — or attending for the first time.

Younger generations searching for truth in a world where they have been told there is none are restless and looking for answers. In the void created by the recession of Christianity, Charlie Kirk was convinced that the answer is to debate, dialogue and reason people back into a moral and conservative Christianity.

It’s expected that the US-based figure will have the largest impact within America. But Aussies also turned up to church for the first time as a result of the Kirk effect.

One Australian pastor wrote, “I had a bunch of people at church this morning who had never stepped foot in a church before. We already had a lot of that happening before this past month, but it seems to have grown since these successive cultural moments, and ultimately since Charlie was killed.”

One Aussie expressed, “I have this really strong urge to pick up a Bible… It’s a really strange feeling.”

It was inevitable that God would use Charlie Kirk’s martyrdom for His glory in amazing ways.

Erika Kirk pledged to continue and expand the work of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), the conservative organization Kirk founded. “It will become stronger, bolder, louder, and greater than ever.” Less than 24 hours after Erika’s address, TPUSA received 18,000 new chapter requests. Previously, the organization had operated just over 10,000 chapters across universities, colleges, and high schools. By Sunday night, the number of new TPUSA chapter requests had risen to 32,000.

TRUMP’S MOST IMPORTANT INITIATIVE

President Trump has launched America Prays, calling on Americans to gather weekly in prayer, honour the nation’s Christian foundations, seek God’s guidance, and prepare spiritually for the United States’ 250th anniversary.

Launched Monday at Washington DC’s Museum of the Bible, the America Prays initiative encourages US citizens to dedicate one hour each week to pray for the country, its leaders, families, freedoms and future.

“Next year, we will celebrate 250 years since that Declaration was signed,” President Trump explained. “As part of the grand commemoration, we’ve invited America’s great faith communities to pray for our nation, for our people, and for peace in the world.”

“President Trump has revived one of America’s most prominent and powerful founding principles — we are one nation under God,” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said. “America is stronger with the power of prayer.”

The America Prays campaign asks participants, where possible, to join with at least ten others each week in collective prayer. The effort extends the faith-driven message of Trump’s America250 campaign, which he launched at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in July.

At that event, President Trump emphasised the historic role of faith in sustaining the United States, saying:

As we prepare to celebrate two and a half centuries of freedom, I am inviting America’s great religious communities to pray for our nation and for our people. From the beginning, this has always been a country sustained and strengthened by prayer. If we bring religion back stronger, you’re going to see everything get better. So as we chart our course toward the next 250 years, let us rededicate ourselves to one nation under God.

The White House has provided participants with suggested resources, including scriptural readings and intercessory prayers for churches and Christian leaders. Scriptures recommended for prayer include 2 Chronicles 7:14, Psalm 33:12, and 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

A 22-page booklet titled Prayers and Proclamations Throughout American History has also been provided, which includes the Pilgrims’ First Thanksgiving in 1621, the First Prayer in Congress in 1774, George Washington’s military orders and calls to prayer during the Revolutionary War, President Abraham Lincoln’s 1863 call for a Day of Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer, and Billy Graham’s prayer at the 1969 Presidential Inauguration.

Organisers of America Prays hope that at least one million Americans will dedicate an hour weekly to prayer, fostering a spirit of unity and spiritual renewal across the country.

UNITED NATIONS, Sept 12th (Reuters) – The United Nations General Assembly on Friday overwhelmingly voted to endorse a declaration outlining “tangible, timebound, and irreversible steps” towards a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians ahead of a meeting of world leaders.

It seems the United Nations will play a central role in the adoption of a one world government. It will be interesting to watch its leadership for a potential candidate for the Antichrist.

STANDING FOR CHRIST IN THE UK

Recent data suggests a potential resurgence of Christian faith and engagement in the UK, particularly among young men, with increased church attendance and Bible study reported by organizations like the Bible Society and in various news outlets. This trend is marked by large public gatherings, where thousands of Christians have come together to pray and declare their faith. While scepticism about a full revival exists, these indicators point to a possible shift, with some observers noting a “remarkable spiritual shift” and a renewed desire for discipleship among Britons. Check out my recent post on Gen Z – The Revival Generation. It reports similar findings in the USA. The same goes for Australia so God is definitely reaching out to the youth across the world. He is a wonderful loving God.

One of the really interesting stats in the Bible Society report was when they asked non-churchgoers “would they go to church if they were invited by a friend or family member?” 31%, just under a third, said they would, which is pretty amazing. And that rose a little bit to 34% of 18 to 24 year olds who were non-churchgoers. So they saw this growth, but it’s not a ceiling. And when we think about the importance of friendships and relationships to people exploring faith, that’s a really interesting place to begin. So let’s start with family, friends and neighbours.

They saw that two thirds of the population said they’d be happy for a Christian friend to pray for them. And just over a quarter said they’d be interested in learning more about the Bible. And that’s just so much bigger than the number who are regularly in church, which even in this new data set is only 12%. So that interest is far greater than those who are currently practicing.

One of the big themes that comes through is just how important relationships and friendships are. They asked people to agree or disagree with a statement around whether they would read the Bible if a friend or family recommended it to them versus if a philosopher or thinker, or public figure recommended it to them. And in general the agreement rate is far higher if friends or family recommended it rather than public thinkers. So certainly people like Charlie Kirk and Jordan Peterson are important, I don’t think there’s any question on that, but really what makes people open to trying new things does seem to be at the much more personal and local level. So yes, we would encourage everyone to see openness as something for them to explore and think about.

Charlie’s critics would have you believe he was “far-right”. Actually, he was nothing of the sort. Charlie Kirk was a vanilla conservative. He believed in God, the right to life, traditional marriage, merit over race, secure borders, and small government.

He was also a passionate defender of free speech and open debate. It was this conviction that prompted him to found Turning Point USA (TPUSA) — a multimillion dollar non-profit credited with winning hundreds of thousands of young and restless college students to commonsense conservatism. Indeed, TPUSA played a pivotal role in flipping the youth vote red in 2024, where support among 18-29-year-olds swung 21 points, helping Trump take back the White House.

Charlie Kirk loved debate because he hated violence. He believed America’s deep cultural and spiritual problems could be resolved by giving a hearing to even the worst ideas and persuading people with the truth.

In a video that’s gone viral since his death, he explains that he toured American colleges persuading young people because “when people stop talking, that’s when you get violence, that’s when civil war happens”.

A student who witnessed Charlie Kirk’s assassination reported that a group of his opponents in the crowd cheered when he was shot.

Talking heads in the legacy media indulged in ritual victim-blaming, suggesting that Charlie had invited his own demise by the views he expressed.

BlueSky, a platform widely billed as the left’s compassionate alternative to X, was reportedly a hotbed of hate this week — Daily Wire journalist Megan Basham said that upon searching for Charlie Kirk’s name, every single post “was either laughing at, sneering at, or suggesting there was something ironic in his death”.

This report from a republican in parliament shows the extent of the spiritual battle that is being waged: One of the most disgusting and evil things that I’ve ever seen. Just before we learned Charlie had passed, we tried to lead a prayer on the House floor – praying for his recovery after he was tragically shot. The Democrats started booing and yelling at us. It was absolutely disgusting. Their rhetoric caused this, and their actions today show they have no remorse!!!

Transgender and “antifascist” ideology was engraved on the ammunition found inside the rifle likely used in the murder, according to the Wall Street Journal, though the killer remains at large. It may be some time before we learn more about the assassin’s motive, but even when those answers come, they’ll only form part of the picture. Charlie Kirk’s murder did not take place in a vacuum.

Conservatives have been dehumanised in elite circles for decades. “They get bitter and cling to guns or religion,” Barack Obama scoffed in 2008. During her 2016 White House run, Hillary Clinton derided Trump’s base as a “basket of deplorables… racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it”. Joe Biden, on the campaign trail in 2018, called them “the dregs of society”.

From there, the rhetoric only escalated. During Biden’s infamous Red Speech in 2022, he declared “MAGA Republicans” — of whom Charlie Kirk was undeniably a figurehead — a “threat to democracy” and to “the very foundations of our republic”. By this time, an entire genre of bloodthirsty discourse was flooding the internet.

Yes, anyone can find examples of untempered speech on both sides of politics, but the uncomfortable truth for US Democrats is that it’s coming not from their fringes but their frontlines. Donors, celebrities, congressmen, media pundits and more queued up to call Trump a Nazi, a fascist, and Hitler reincarnate right up to the moment an assassin almost felled him in the fields of Butler, Pennsylvania. And after a brief pause of national reflection, they resumed the name-calling in earnest.

It was Charlie Kirk himself who, in April of this year, pointed out that “assassination culture is spreading on the left”.

“Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk,” he explained in a now-eerie post on X, citing alarming research reported by Fox News. “Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump.” Charlie continued:

The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response. This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end.

Christians need to be aware that we are in the Biblical prophesied end times before Jesus returns. Persecution/Tribulation will increase exactly as Jesus predicted in His Olivet discourse. Sadly, a great falling away in the church is also prophesied and this is happening with much of the denominational church compromising with the world’s unbiblical values such as homosexuality, including homosexual marriage.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.” Matthew 24:9-12

Charlie Kirk understood the price he might have to pay standing up for the truth in the public square. May we have the courage to do the same.

HOW DOES EVOLUTION MAKE “YOU FROM GOO”?

C.S. Lewis once put it, “Men became scientific because they expected Law in Nature, and they expected Law in Nature because they believed in a Legislator.” Christianity is a science-starter. God made us in His image to create as He creates.

The creation/evolution debate has continued unabated for a century. The US and, indeed, the world remain highly divided on the question of origins. The good news is that latest scientific discoveries like the electron microscope that revealed in even the simplest cells complex machinery and transport devices and then the discovery of DNA which is complex information that controls the complex machinery and transport devices in every cell. There is no way this could have evolved and the only source of complex information is intelligence of the highest order. The God who exists outside of the complex universe He created.

There is no mechanism to explain evolution, from “GOO to YOU”. Darwin’s natural selection won’t do it. It only selects from what is already there. The only other proposed mechanism – mutations, also won’t do it. Mutation loses information it does not add information. Moreover order does not come from chaos. God exists and even more important He loves us.
