IRAN’S IS EXPERIENCING A SPIRITUAL REVOLUTION

On Monday, June 23, Israeli missiles tore through the gates of Evin Prison, sending concrete and steel flying into the afternoon sky. For 45 years, those gates had swallowed Iran’s finest minds, bravest souls and most faithful hearts.

Since 1979, Evin Prison has served as the beating heart of Iran’s persecution machine. In its cells, tens of thousands of Christians have faced extreme torture, solitary confinement and death for the crime of following Jesus. The names of eight pastors who were martyred within its walls are whispered in house churches across the nation like prayers of remembrance. The regime designed Evin to permanently break spirits and minds, to make examples of those who dared believe in something beyond the ayatollahs’ iron grip.

Every cell in Evin is meant to send a message: this is what happens to those who choose light over darkness, who call for freedom over tyranny. Yet the ayatollahs’ greatest miscalculation was believing they could kill what they couldn’t understand. The harder they squeezed, the more their revolution slipped through their fingers.

The numbers tell an impossible story. Over the past couple of decades, despite facing perhaps the world’s most systematic Christian persecution, Iran has become home to the fastest-growing church on earth. Conservative estimates suggest more than one million Iranians have converted to Christianity, transforming from a few hundred believers before 1979 to a movement that now dwarfs the regime’s own support. While the government demands adherence to Islam through violence and law, 50,000 of Iran’s 75,000 mosques have closed their doors due to empty “pews.” The people have voted with their feet, and they have chosen Jesus.

Violence in the name of Islam has caused widespread disillusionment with the regime. When your government promises paradise but delivers poverty, corruption and oppression, people begin searching for something real. Many have found it in the underground house churches, where believers risk everything gathering in small apartments, singing softly so neighbours cannot hear, studying Bibles that could cost them their freedom and even their lives. The same happened in China when Mao persecuted Christians., the house church movement grew with miracles abounding.

The regime’s persecution of Christians has transformed Christianity into something they never anticipated: the ultimate form of resistance. When everything else fails, when politics offers no hope and economics promise only poverty, faith becomes both hope and rebellion. Iranian women share the Gospel with strangers in bazaars. Taxi drivers turn their cars into mobile prayer meetings. Students risk expulsion to attend house churches. They do this knowing the consequences, knowing that Evin Prison waits for those most effective in spreading the faith.

No wonder God brings persecution so He can truly grow His church. These Christians are totally dependent upon and trust God regardless of their circumstances. Can this be said of the church in the west?

DO YOU UNDERSTAND AND KNOW GOD?

“Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts, boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:23-24

The Bible uses the word Emunah for understands and knows – it means trust due to proven actions – faith demonstrated by works.

The most important thing that each of us needs to discover about God is that He loves us. So much that He was prepared to send His son Jesus to earth to die in our place, to pay the price for our sin and rebellion against Him. How good is that.

This happened for me at age 47 when I discovered at a Creation Conference that first of all that God exists. My stumbling block was that doing science at Sydney University I was taught evolution, so the big breakthrough came when I saw at the conference a video of Dr Dean Kenyon, who had been the professor of biochemistry at Stanford University and had written two evolutionary textbooks on biochemistry, now say that the discovery of DNA and the electron microscope had rung the death knell for evolution.

DNA is complex information that controls all the functions of living cells. Its only source is intelligent design. The electron microscope revealed complex manufacturing units and transport devices inside every living cell that are controlled by the DNA. It is impossible that this could have evolved it had to be created as a completed functioning unit on day one, by an intelligence beyond our comprehension, outside of the time, space, and material universe it created. I came away from that conference so annoyed with myself and even more so with the educational establishment that was teaching this garbage. The second thing I discovered at the conference was that Biblical history of a young universe was true. The worldwide flood of Noah’s day was an actual event that provides the evidence for the billions of dead things found buried in the rocks all over the world including fossil fuel from the buried vegetation. Evidence that the world says accumulated over billions of years. It was a simple step to take from discovering the Bible is God’s Word to us, that He loves us, and wants to be back in fellowship with us. It change my life forever. From managing large health care companies God had me purchase Christian Press and run it as Care & Share Products for 30 plus years. It is now owned and operated by my youngest son Scott who also happens to be the President of the Christian Booksellers Association in Australia.

A SINGLE INTENSE POST FLOOD ICE AGE FITS THE EVIDENCE

Conventional scientists believe that many events of earth history contradict the Bible. One of these is the millions of years they claim for the Greenland and Antarctic Ice Sheets. Drilling down into the Greenland Ice Sheet, conventional scientists have counted 110,000 annual layers, like counting the rings in a tree to determine its age. In the Dome C Antarctic ice core, 800,000 years have been claimed. These ages are vastly older than the Biblical age of about 6,000 years 
The Bible provides the proper framework in which to understand the evidence for Ice Age conditions. Michael Oard, author of the new book, The Frozen Paradox: Ice Cores versus Deep Time has worked together with other scientists on the Ice Age for almost half a century. A single, intense Ice Age would have been caused by the conditions at the end of Noah’s Flood in Genesis 6–9. Moreover, meteorology, climatology, geology, glaciology, and paleontology applied to the climatic consequences of the Genesis Flood can readily explain the Ice Age.
The biblical Ice Age also solves many other mysteries that secular science has not been able to solve for over 200 years …
This book [covers] an important subset of the Ice Age. That is, how the ice sheets with their ice cores fit into biblical earth history …
He examines the claim of 110,000 annual layers in the Greenland ice cores, as well as the belief that the Dome C Antarctic ice core records 800,000 years. He shows that both these deductions are based on circular reasoning with the assumptions of uniformitarianism and deep time (the millions of years) built in. But he not only challenges the conventional interpretation of ice cores, but also how creation scientists can explain the ice cores and ice sheets within biblical earth history. As a bonus, chapter 8 shows how the model of the Ice Age can explain a major mystery of atmospheric science, and that is the well-watered ‘green Sahara’.

This interview with an Iman from the UAE is worth listening to, in order to understand what is happening with Muslims in the West.

All of our politicians should see this video. Hopefully, then they will take action against the many Iman’s in Australia’s mosques preaching hatred and inciting young people to antisemitism and acts of terrorism.

One interesting statistic was at least 7000 young people (second and third generation Muslims) from the UK and Europe joined Isis. Many became martyrs but after Isis was defeated many were let back into their countries of origin because they were citizens of those countries.

MARTYN ISLES IS BACK

Since Martyn’s short stint at Answers in Genesis many of us have been wondering what God has next in store for Martyn. It had to be connected to evangelising with a focus on young people because that is the talent God has given him.

Well now we know: Martyn Iles is set to Launch Two New Digital Platforms to Reclaim the Cross and Reimagine Christian Education. At the Crux and Proto are two initiatives designed to proclaim Christ and shape young minds with gospel-centred education.

“At the Crux” is designed to meet growing cultural curiosity about Christianity with a renewed focus on the gospel.

Speaking directly to a generation disillusioned with empty ideologies, Iles said the time had come to stop “simply opening conversations” and instead “bring them all the way to the cross.”

The announcement comes amid what Iles describes as a “resurgence of Christian interest.” Whether that looks like Joe Rogan going to church, Jordan Peterson promoting the Bible, or Donald Trump punctuating “a press conference with, ‘We love you, God’”, for many, “Christianity is interesting again” and is not limited to high-profile political or media figures, but particularly to young men.

At the Crux: Meeting the Moment

The name, “At the Crux”, has been deliberately chosen and crafted to carry three layers of meaning, with three promises:

  1. A promise of clarity. As in the phrase, “the ‘crux’ of the issue”, the word also signifies something of foundational importance, yet expressed simply and clearly.
  2. A promise of relevance. Finally, in being ‘at’ the crux, Iles determines that the new platform will be ‘at’ a decisive moment.
  3. A promise of the gospel. In Latin, crux means “cross,” pointing directly to Christianity’s central and always-relevant message.

In earlier seasons, Iles was best known for his widely viewed series “The Truth of It” and “Living in Babylon”, which tackled modern culture through a biblical lens. Those efforts drew strong audiences and made Iles a familiar name among Australian and international Christians. Now, with At the Crux, he intends to be even more explicit in gospel proclamation.

“I want to take up the curiosity that’s simmering out there – not just to answer people’s questions – but to bring them all the way to the cross,” he said.

The initiative reflects what Iles sees as a God-given moment: to speak into our modern culture not with the “wisdom of man,” but with the clarity and conviction of Christ crucified.

Proto: Reimagining Christian Education

In addition to At the Crux, Iles and his team have unveiled a second major project – “Proto”, a comprehensive Christian education platform designed to equip children from ages 5 to 18 with a robust biblical worldview.

Built in partnership with experienced educators, software engineers and policy experts, Proto promises a cutting-edge app experience tailored for Christian families. It aims to support parents and educators – whether homeschooling or using other educational models – with tools to instil faith, knowledge, and critical thinking from a Christian foundation.

Iles leads both initiatives as Chief Executive Officer, bringing years of experience in Christian advocacy, law and digital content. Formerly the Managing Director of the Australian Christian Lobby, which grew by more than 400% during his tenure, he is known more recently for serving in executive leadership with the US-based Answers in Genesis apologetics ministry.

Iles has announced that he is joined by a distinguished team of co-founders, including:

  • David Cook, Chief Technology Officer, is a Silicon Valley veteran who helped build Apple iTunes and contributed to platforms like Netflix and YouTube. Converted six years ago, Cook now devotes his technical expertise to Christian mission.
  • Dr Paul Henderson, Chief Education Officer, is a global education expert who has advised prime ministers, authored national curricula, and holds advanced degrees from Cambridge, Aberdeen, and other leading institutions.
  • José Ziebarth, Chief Product Officer, is the former Head of Privacy at Facebook and an anti-corruption and de-bureaucratisation reformer in Brazil’s government. Once an atheist, he became a Christian seven years ago and now home-educates his three sons with his wife.

“These projects are ambitious—but they’re timely, strategic, and already underway”, Martyn revealed.

“Early support has been encouraging, and we’re praying for provision to fully launch At the Crux and accelerate the build of the new platform.”

CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION ESCALATING

Where do Christians face the most violence: PAKISTAN – Because of Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, Christians are at constant risk of being falsely accused of blaspheming Islam, the Koran or Mohammed, and they receive harsh punishments when convicted. NIGERIA – Nearly all Christians in north-eastern Nigeria have lost family members or friends in attacks by Boko Haram or Fulani Islamic militants. Entire congregations have been displaced, and many pastors have been forced to leave the region. DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO – The church is under immense pressure in the eastern DRC. In areas controlled by the Allied Democratic Forces, Christian villages have been raided, churches destroyed and hundreds of believers brutally killed.

INDIA: At least two attacks on Christians are being reported every day in India this year, according to new figures released by a Christian advocacy group.

Christians constitute 2.3% of India’s population, based on the 2011 census. The UCF says the Christian minority has been facing growing hostility in recent years, particularly under laws and narratives advanced by Hindu nationalist groups. Twelve of India’s 28 states have laws that restrict religious conversions. Most of these are governed by the Hindu nationalist BJP, which Christian groups accuse of enabling Hindu nationalist attacks under the guise of anti-conversion enforcement.

A total of 313 incidents were recorded between January and May alone, based on calls to a toll-free helpline run by the New Delhi-based inter-denominational body United Christian Forum, according to the Union of Catholic Asian News. 

SYRIA: Multiple churches in Syria were attacked by terrorists; at least 20 dead, dozens wounded. A brutal terrorist attack took place on Sunday around 5 p.m. local time at Mar Elias Church in the Douweila neighbourhood of Damascus. The attacker began shooting at people and then blew himself up inside the church. As of 10 p.m. local time, at least 20 people are dead and at least 50 have been wounded, with the numbers still climbing.

Jesus told us what it will be like prior to His return to usher in His Millennial reign on this Earth.

“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:7-14

WILL NEW TECHNOLOGIES BE USED IN JESUS COMING MILLENNIAL KINGDOM?

The brain implant revolution is here. Why is its inventor terrified? He should be as God is not given a mention by any of the workers in this space. It is just another sign we are in the prophesied Biblical end-times prior to Jesus return to set up His Millennial reign on this Earth.

Jesus and the resurrected Saints will rule the nations with a rod of iron so we can be sure new technologies such as Brain Computer Interface (BCI) will be used wisely if at all. We were made by God to work and be creative, after all, we are made in His image. Hence, we will use the technologies that God has put there for us to creatively use. I am confident that Nuclear Fission will be used in Jesus Millennial Kingdom as a base load power source.

Australian neurologist Tom Oxley (picture), the co-inventor of the world’s most innovative brain-computer interface (BCI) is at the forefront of the world’s progression towards cognitive artificial intelligence. Oxley says, “It’s phenomenal. The next couple of decades are going to be very hard to predict. And every day, I’m increasingly thinking that BCIs are going to have more of an impact than anyone realises.”

Brain-computer interfaces are tiny devices inserted directly into the brain, where they pick up electrical signals and transmit them to an external computer or device where they are ­decoded algorithmically. The subject of a cover story in the Australian in 2023, a BCI called the Stentrode, developed at the University of ­Melbourne by Oxley’s company, Synchron, is inserted into the brain non-invasively through the jugular vein.

In 2022, Synchron, which initially received funding from the US Defense Advanced ­Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the Australian Government, and later attracted ­investment from the likes of Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, had become the first company in the world to be approved by the US Food and Drug Administration to conduct a human trial of its BCI in the US – outpacing Elon Musk’s company Neuralink, which is operating in the same space. Since then the Stentrode has been implanted into 10 people with neurodegenerative disease, enabling them to control devices such as computers and phones with their thoughts.

A seismic development in Synchron’s ­evolution occurred in March, when Oxley ­announced a partnership between the company and chipmaking giant Nvidia, to build an AI brain foundation model that learns directly from neural data. The model, dubbed Chiral, connects Syncron’s BCI – developed in Melbourne – with Nvidia’s AI computing platform Holoscan, which allows developers to build AI streaming apps that can be displayed on Apple’s Vision Pro spatial computer, the tech giant’s early foray into extended reality.

“A core human drive, encoded in our DNA, is to improve our condition,” says Oxley, a professorial fellow at the University of Melbourne’s department of medicine and now based in New York City. “For patients with neurological ­injury, this means restoring function. In the ­future, it seems inevitable that it will include enhancement [in the wider population].

BCIs will enable us to go beyond our physical limitations, to express, connect and create better than ever before. Neurotechnology should be a force for wellbeing, expanding human potential and improving quality of life.” But the collision of the development of BCIs with the now-supercharged development of AI has ramifications almost beyond imagining.

WHAT IS THE AMERICAN DREAM?

There is a big difference between natural liberty and civil liberty, which is well known to those who study the political philosophy of the Puritans. Natural liberty, according to John Winthrop, the chief figure among the Puritan founders of New England, “is a liberty to do evil as well as to do good.” It is simply having the liberty to do whatever one desires, whether having a family, becoming a millionaire, or attending a Pride parade. “The exercise and maintaining of this liberty makes men grow more evil, and in time to be worse than brute beasts,” Winthrop warned. “This is that great enemy of truth and peace, that wild beast, which all of the ordinances of God are bent against, to restrain and subdue it.”

The American dream was spelled out in the Declaration of Independence: “It’s the idea that America would be a nation where all its citizens would be free to enjoy ‘Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness’ — as their Creator would allow them.”

Back in the time of the Puritans, the enjoyment of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness centred around traditional biblical values. The liberty Winthrop exhorted his listeners to practice was civil liberty, which simply meant the liberty to do what was right. “It’s a liberty to only do that which is good, just, and honest,” in Winthrop’s words. He believed moral and just laws derived from Scripture were the best tools to encourage citizens to religious liberty

The American dream has shifted from the idea of a happy and content family to the concept of corporate superiority and personal financial stability. The director of Family Research Council’s Centre for Biblical Worldview, David Closson, explained why this shift has happened. “In the last 25 years, the percentage of those with a consistent biblical worldview has continually declined. George Barna’s most recent research shows that only 4% of Americans have a biblical worldview,” Closson observed..

“The result today is a generation of young people who struggle for meaningful relationships, struggle at work, struggle to afford a home, struggle to find a spouse, and more,” Family Research Council’s Director of FRC Action, Matt Carpenter, said.

“They are powerless to do the one thing that can restore the American dream. That is, restore God to His proper place in the hearts and minds of every American. Only a national revival can actually restore the American dream.”
