ISRAEL’S FUTURE: THE TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE

“Jacob’s Trouble” (also called “the time of Jacob’s trouble”) is a specific biblical phrase found in Jeremiah 30:7:

“Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.” (NKJV)

Biblical Context

The entire chapter of Jeremiah 30 is a prophecy of hope given to Israel and Judah during their exile in Babylon. God promises:

  • To restore them from captivity
  • To break the yoke of foreign oppression
  • To bring them back to their land under their own king (ultimately fulfilled in the Messiah)
  • To heal and prosper them again

However, before this full restoration comes, Israel (referred to here as “Jacob,” using the patriarch’s original name) will go through an unprecedented period of suffering and distress.

Key Characteristics of “Jacob’s Trouble”

  1. Uniqueness and Severity
    • “That day is great, so that none is like it” (Jeremiah 30:7) – it is unparalleled in history.
    • Jesus quotes similar language in the Olivet Discourse: “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:21), linking the two passages.
  2. Focused on Israel/Jacob
    • The trouble is specifically called “Jacob’s” (not the church’s or the world’s in general), indicating it primarily affects the Jewish people and the nation of Israel.
    • Other Old Testament passages describe the same period using different names:
      • “The indignation” (Isaiah 26:20; Daniel 11:36)
      • “The time of trouble” (Daniel 12:1)
      • “The day of the Lord”
      • “The seventieth week of Daniel” (Daniel 9:27)
      • “The great tribulation” (Matthew 24:21; Revelation 7:14)
  3. Deliverance at the End
    • Jeremiah 30:7 ends with hope: “…but he [Jacob/Israel] shall be saved out of it.”
    • Daniel 12:1 says Michael the archangel will stand up for Israel, and “at that time your people shall be delivered.”
    • Zechariah 13–14 and Romans 11:25–29 describe Israel’s national repentance and acceptance of the Messiah at the end of this period.

In short, “Jacob’s Trouble” is widely understood in prophetic studies as the Bible’s term for an unparalleled future time of distress centred on the Jewish people, out of which God will ultimately deliver and restore a repentant Israel when the Messiah returns and establishes His Millennial Kingdom

The Bible reveals this Earth’s history is young, not billions of years old as the theory of evolution would lead us to believe. Despite there being billions of dead things buried whole throughout the world, which must have been buried quickly to be whole, as well, enormous amounts of fossil fuels formed from buried vegetation, the scientists of the world deny the Biblical flood of Noah’s day, because it does not align with their naturalist view of the world forming itself over billions of years. The Bible reveals that Noah’s flood was a catastrophic event that changed the entire geomorphology of the planet.

Biblical history reveals that Satan has had 6,000 years to rule over the Earth. Jesus will soon have 1,000 years to rule and reign with the glorified Saints, Satan and I assume his demons are bound during Jesus reign

“And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.” Revelation 20:2-3

Nevertheless, we are told Jesus and the Saints rule with a rod of iron during the Millennium as the curse is only partially lifted, mainly in Israel, so people are still being born, still sin, and die. Moreover, at the end of the Millennium, Satan is released and he still raises an army like the sand of the sea.

“And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them.” Revelation 20:7-9

Finally, after 7,000 years, this Earth’s history is complete and God destroys the Earth with fire, The second resurrection of the dead takes place before Jesus White Throne judgement. Only after the White Throne judgement does the apostle John see a magnificent and enormous new Jerusalem descending from a new heaven onto a new earth where only the righteous dwell with both our heavenly Father and Jesus.

HOW DID YOU COME TO YOUR WORLDVIEW?

Our worldview informs our personal, social, and political lives. It helps us understand our purpose. Further, our worldview determines our ethics, our values, and our capacity for happiness. It helps us answer the big questions of life: How did I get here? How am I to live? Where do I find meaning in life? What is my ultimate destiny? It is more telling than any other aspect of our lives.

In forming our worldviews, Harvard psychiatrist, Dr. Armand Nicholi says, that we make one of two assumptions about life. The first is that we live in a godless universe; we are a product of nature that has evolved over time. This is a secular worldview that emphasizes scientific knowledge and its motto is “What do science and nature have to say?” The second assumption is that there is a supernatural intelligence who gives the universe order and life meaning. This is a spiritual worldview that is rooted in Biblical revelations. It places emphasis on spiritual truth and wisdom and its motto is: “What does God have to say about this?”

It is reasonable to conclude that every person has an opinion on God and spiritual reality, even if it is a belief that He is non-existent. We all have a faith view of reality and it trickles down into our lives and influences the choices we make. One of the great flaws in our human character is we stubbornly hold on to our beliefs because they generally reflect how we want life to be rather than how life actually is.
For this reason, evidence does not seem to matter.

A great example of this is Dr. Francis Collins. He is most noted for having been chosen to chair the Human Genome Project, ENCODE where, in 2003, he led an international collaboration of two thousand scientists in sequencing the human genome. More recently, he was appointed by President Obama to be the Director of the National Institutes of Health. Clearly, he is a prominent scientist, but what is perhaps even more interesting is his spiritual journey.

He began this journey as an atheist. In his third year of medical school, while he was working in the hospital, he was attending a woman who had exhausted her options for treatment. She suffered from a heart condition and was going to die soon. Collins was moved by this kind and faithful woman. She had a
strong faith, and she shared it with him. She said, “You know, I’m ready to go. Don’t worry about me.”
And then she said, “Dr. Collins, you’ve been so kind to listen to me and care for me and listen to me share with you about my faith. Tell me about your faith. Tell me what you believe.”
Collins later wrote:
“Nobody had ever asked me that question before, not like that, not in such a simple, sincere way. I realized I didn’t know the answer. I felt uneasy. I could feel my face flushing. I wanted to get out of there. The ice was cracking under my feet. All of a sudden, by this simple question, everything was a muddle. Collin’s began to wonder if he was an atheist because he had chosen the position of reason or because it was the answer he wanted. Finally, it came to him: “As a scientist, I had always insisted on collecting rigorous data before drawing a conclusion. And yet, in matters of faith, I had never collected any data at all. I didn’t know what I had rejected. So, I decided that I should be a little better grounded in my atheism. I better find out what this is all about. So, I challenged a patient of mine who was a Methodist minister. And, after listening to my questions and realizing that I was not dealing with a very full deck of information, he suggested that I read the Gospel of John, which I did…I found the scripture to be interesting, puzzling, and not at all what I had thought faith was about… then I began to read C.S. Lewis and realized there was a great depth of thinking and reasoning that could be applied to the question
of God.” Lewis convinced him that reason and faith go hand in hand, though faith has the added component of revelation—the Bible. Collins had previously believed that Jesus and the stories of the
Bible were nothing more than mere myths. Again, as he studied the historical evidence, he was stunned at how well documented and how historically accurate the Bible is. He also saw a surprising fidelity of the transmission of the manuscripts that were passed down over the centuries. And, over time, Francis Collins,
based on the accumulation of the evidence that he observed, concluded that God exists, and that Jesus is the Son of God. He also concluded that most of the religious skeptics that he knew and that he meets today are just like he was. That is to say, they didn’t want to think about these things and never looked at any evidence, never drawing conclusions from the real evidence that was available. This is what Dr. Dallas Willard, former professor of philosophy at the University of Southern California, believed was a major problem with individuals who considered themselves to be agnostic or atheist. Willard found that so many of the students and scholars he encountered on campus and in the world were guilty of what he called “irresponsible disbelief.” These bright men and women would often choose to disbelieve in something without any significant commitment to an investigation of that disbelief by way of sound reasoning and careful examination of the evidence.

Do you believe the Bible is inerrant? The revealed word of God. If you do then you need to reject evolution and its billions of years and hold to to the Biblical history and the worldwide flood of Noah’s day. It produced the billions of fossils and fossil fuels, oil and gas that evolutionists tell us took billions of years to form. The Bible tells us that to initiate the flood God broke the mantle of the earth “all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.” The whole topography of the Earth was changed when God poured out His wrath upon the Earth the first time when He judged the wicked Nephilim (hybrid angel/humans) and mankind. The subsequent Ice Age was a single, rapid event triggered by post-Flood conditions. These included massive volcanic activity releasing aerosols that cooled the continents, combined with warm oceans from Flood-related heating, leading to heavy snowfall and glacier formation. The duration is typically estimated as several hundred years, with glaciers building up over the first few centuries and melting during the latter half as volcanic activity waned. This fits within the post-Flood timeline, allowing for human and animal dispersal (e.g., via land bridges from lower sea levels) before the rise of early civilizations like those in Mesopotamia around 4,000 years ago. The Tower of Babel event that formed the nations with new God given languages occurred just 200 to 300 years after the Flood and was the reason people dispersed across the world.

God has been active in His world with these dramatic events. The apostle Peter told us 2000 years ago that in the last days before Jesus returns that the world would reject God and His account of creation and Noah’s Flood as myths and suffer God’s judgement just as the ungodly did before the worldwide flood. The many fulfilled Biblical prophecies are proof God exists and His Word is truth.

“Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.” 2Peter 3: 3-7

ARCHAEOLOGY PROVES THE BIBLE’S HISTORY IS TRUE

The recent discovery of a coin was made in Jerusalem that dates before the destruction of the temple that has changed how the world looks at the State of Israel. Christians are not surprised because this discovery alone proves yet again that God’s word is true and the land of Israel belongs to the Jews.

The proposed two State solution being considered by the UN next month is confronting God head on and like the coin confirms Biblical end times prophecy and the Bible as God’s Word.

PHARAOH’S CHARIOT WHEELS DISCOVERED

When a team of modern salvage divers recently plunged into the Red Sea, they weren’t chasing treasure. They were chasing a mystery nearly 50 years old – a legend that the chariot wheels that once belonged to a Pharaoh lay buried beneath the waves. What they found left them stunned. Scattered across the seabed were shocking discoveries of remains of chariots and many human bones that would confirm a Biblical story that a lot of people have dismissed as fiction. But here’s the thing: what the divers saw suggests that something shocking happened in the Red Sea, confirming the Biblical Exodus story.

This confirms what Ron Wyatt reported many years before. I met Ron Wyatt when I was Chairman of Ark Search, and Dr Alan Roberts of Australia was working with Ron Wyatt on a search for Noah’s Ark. Sadly, that search ended in failure; however, an article by Ken Griffiths and Darryl K White in the Journal of Creation, Volume 35, Issue 3, 2021, shows a credible site for Noah’s Ark on the Mountain Karaca Dag in Turkey.

While researching a Babel candidate site near Diyarbakir, Turkey, on 3 October 2019, they found a complex of sites on the mountain Karaca Dag that, upon further examination, seem to match the description of the landing site of Noah’s Ark, along with a tomb, possible altar, and much more. The tomb is a 60-m-square, rough stone mastaba, oriented to the winter solstice sunrise, with two extensions that make it into roughly a 160-m-long boat shape. The site is marked by six or more geoglyphs, situated along an arc 5 km distant on the northwest side of the mountain. The possible remains of the Ark appear to have had a modern school built on them, now collapsed.

We would expect to find the landing site of the Ark near the centre of the oldest post-diluvial distribution of humans and domesticated plants. The site presented in this paper lies upon a mountain between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers at the centre of the Pre‑Pottery Neolithic A (PPNA) Culture.

WHY THE BIBLE’S HISTORY IS SO IMPORTANT?

Because the history in Genesis 1–11 is the foundation for everything, and it has a totally different account of origins than what young people hear at schools, universities, and nearly everywhere else, they have questions about the Bible’s history that need answers. They need to know that the Bible’s history is trustworthy. Evolution has been one of Satan’s best strategies to destroy belief in God’s word. We need the basic answers for the history in Genesis 1–11 because the devil wants to cause people to doubt and not believe this history because it is foundational to the Gospel message. In fact, Biblical history is foundational to all doctrine, to marriage, to gender, the origin of sin, pain and death and how to deal with racism, abortion, and the environment, just as it is foundational to the saving gospel message.

Creation in seven days is fundamental to how we need to live. God made it clear in His commandments:

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it, you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” Exodus 20:8-11

The Fall: a once-perfect world is cursed by God, and sin and death enter the world because Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command. They were deceived by a fallen angel, Satan, who is now the prince of this world and with his minions. other fallen angels continue to deceive the world.

Nephilim: Genesis 6:1–4 tells us that the Nephilim, which means “fallen ones,” were the product of copulation between divine beings (i.e., sons of God) and human women (i.e., daughters of Adam). The “sons of God” as referring to angels seems to be the most consistent interpretation of this phrase. The expression sons of God is employed in antithesis to daughters of men; it is clear that the former pertains to beings outside the human sphere. The Nephilim are known as great warriors and Biblical giants (see Ezekiel 32:27 and Numbers 13:33). This is the main reason why God had to destroy all human and hybrid angel/human life on Earth.

Noah’s Flood was a worldwide flood that destroyed all but the eight humans and the animals, insects, and birds that were on the Ark. The apostle Peter tells us that before Jesus returns, people will deny Biblical history about creation and the worldwide flood of Noah’s day. Biblical prophecy is once again being confirmed.

“For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of the water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these, the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.“ 2 Peter 3:5-7

God created the nations by confusing their language because the people were disobedient to His command to multiply and cover all the Earth. The world has not been able to come up with a reasonable explanation for the nations and their languages, yet they totally reject God as the miraculous source.

“Now the whole earth had one language and the same words. And as people migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there… Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth… And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do… Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city (Babel). ” Genesis 11:7-8

God created a nation, Israel, to fulfil His purposes on Earth. Much of the Old Testament is about God’s interaction with His nation and the prophets that God appointed. These prophets are all told that a Messiah would arise to lead and save the nation. Even before Israel went into the Promised Land, Moses told them their entire history, including their being cast out of the land and scattered throughout the world.

“And when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God has driven you, and return to the Lord your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul, then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and He will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.“ Deuteronomy 30:1-3

“And the Lord your God will bring you into the land that your fathers possessed, that you may possess it. And He will make you more prosperous and numerous than your fathers. And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.” Deuteronomy 30:5-6

The Davidic Covenant (2 Samuel 7) is the promise that God made to David that David’s heir would sit on the throne of Israel. Jesus is that heir, but He has yet to take His physical, political birthright.

The New Covenant: It outlines the promise that Israel as a nation will return to God and worship their Messiah. These covenants will be fulfilled during the 1000-year reign.

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke… For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” Jeremiah 31:31-33

All of the O.T. is about this coming Messiah, JESUS. Biblical end-time prophecies are playing out in our day, so we know Jesus’ return to Earth is not too far off. Next on God’s agenda for planet Earth is Jesus’ Millennial Kingdom.

FAKE HISTORY IS FLOURISHING IN THE WEST: JUST CONSIDER THESE THREE CASES

Throughout the English-speaking world, elites are falling over themselves to believe the very worst of their own countries.

Let’s consider Canada. In May 2021 an Indian band in Kamloops, British Columbia claimed ground-penetrating radar had discovered “soil disturbances” that evidenced unmarked graves containing the remains of 215 “missing children” in land associated with an Indian Residential School.

The media quickly sexed up the story into one of “mass graves”, with all its connotation of murderous atrocity. On May 30 the Toronto Globe and Mail published an article under the title “The discovery of a mass gravesite at a former residential school in Kamloops is just the tip of the iceberg”. In it, Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond, professor of law at the University of British Columbia, wrote: “It is horrific. But it is not shocking. In fact, it is the opposite – a too-common unearthing of the legacy, and enduring reality, of colonialism in Canada.”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ordered Canadian flags to be flown at half-mast on all federal buildings to honour the murdered children. Because the Kamloops school had been run by a Roman Catholic religious order, some zealous citizens took to burning and vandalising churches, 85 of them to date. The dreadful tale was eagerly broadcast worldwide by Al Jazeera.

Yet, more than three years later, not a single set of remains of a murdered Indian child in an unmarked grave has been found either in Kamloops or elsewhere in Canada. Indeed, not a single attempt to disinter an alleged grave has been made.

Prime ministers, archbishops, academics, editors and public broadcasters are all in the business of exaggerating the colonial sins of their own countries against noble (not-so-very) savages – from Vancouver to London to Sydney. Why?

Judging by the evidence collected by Chris Champion and Tom Flanagan in their best-selling book, Grave Error: How the Media Misled us (and the Truth about the Residential Schools), it looks increasingly probable that the Kamloops story, and the ones that followed it, are myths.

Meanwhile, in Britain, the Church of England has committed itself to pour an initial £100m ($198.4m) of its assets into an investment fund for “black-led” businesses around the world. This was made “to address … past wrongs” in response to the discovery that the Queen Anne’s Bounty, a forerunner of the church’s endowment, had “links” with African chattel enslavement.

A document entitled Healing, Repair and Justice explains. “The immense wealth accrued by the church … has always been interwoven with the history of African chattel enslavement,” it tells us. “African chattel enslavement was central to the growth of the British economy of the 18th and 19th centuries and the nation’s wealth thereafter … The cruelty of a multinational white establishment … has continuing toxic consequences resulting from the denial of equal access to healthcare, education, employment, justice, and capital.” Every one of these claims, however, is either dubious or false. The Queen Anne’s Bounty was hardly involved in the evil of slave trading at all. Most economic historians reckon the contribution of slave trading and slavery to Britain’s economic development as somewhere between marginal and modest.

Consonant with his church’s policy, then archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby preached a sermon in Christ Church Cathedral, Zanzibar on May 12, in which he criticised Christian missionaries for treating Africans as inferior and confessed that “we (British) must repent and look at what we did in Zanzibar”.

That is odd since what the British did in Zanzibar during the second half of the 19th century was to force the sultan to end the slave trade. Indeed, the cathedral in which the archbishop was preaching was built over the former slave market.

Australia’s equivalent is the extraordinary career of Bruce Pascoe’s Dark Emu. Published in 2014, this argues that Aboriginal people, far from being primitive nomads, developed the first egalitarian society, invented democratic government, eschewed “imperial warfare”, pioneered complex fishing technology, and were sophisticated agriculturalists. Such was the morally superior civilisation that white colonisers trashed in their greed, racist contempt, and relentless violence.

Dark Emu was named Book of the Year and received the Indigenous Writers’ Prize in the 2016 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards. It has sold more than 360,000 copies and has been made the subject of an ABC documentary. And yet, while enthusiastically praised for challenging conventional views about Aboriginal culture and popularising the topic, it has been widely criticised for being factually untrue.

Why is it that prime ministers, archbishops, academics, editors, and public broadcasters are all in the business of telling lies about the history of their own countries that denigrate our forebears – from Vancouver to London to Sydney. As soon as you reject the true history of the world the Prince of this world plays havoc with the truth. A Biblical worldview is the only one that makes sense of it all. It even tells us how it will end with Jesus Christ’s return to restore righteousness.

EVIDENCE FOR A WORLDWIDE GLOBAL FLOOD

TORNADO OF MORAL RELATIVISM

How can we be sure our children won’t be “tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes” (Ephesians 4:14)?

Our grandchildren are growing up in a whole different culture to us. They are going to have to deal with issues that we didn’t have to, what can we do?”

We need to first understand what happened. We need to deal with the foundational issue. It started 6,000 years ago in a garden. Satan said to Eve:

“Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:1-5

“But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3

Note what the apostle Paul says: The devil is using the same method on you, on your kids, on your grandkids, as he used on Eve to get you to a position of not believing the authority of God’s Word.

The Genesis 3 attack—“Did God really say?” And notice the next part, “And you will be like God.” You decide the truth for yourself. That is one of the problems we see through the whole Bible.

What is the method? To create doubt regarding the Word of God. It is an attack on the Word of God.

Here is the problem, our sinful nature leads us to trust man’s word rather than God’s Word. We want to be our own god and decide right and wrong for ourselves. Our churches need to be laying this foundation and teaching people about our sinful nature and understand the fact of what happened was this . . .

A battle began between two religions about 6,000 years ago, Man’s Word vs. God’s Word. It is the same battle today, the same in Luther’s day, and the same in Peter and Paul’s day. It is the same battle, and it hasn’t changed. The method by which that battle occurs does change through the years, but not the actual battle.

There is no neutral position Jesus makes it clear.

“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” Matthew 12:30

People have this idea that if you do not mention the Bible, when it comes to abortion or gay marriage and many other issues, then you are being neutral. But if you do not have the foundation of God’s Word, that means you only have the foundation of man’s word and that means you’ve already lost the battle.

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock... And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.” Matthew 7:24,26

If you reject God, you suppress the truth.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” Romans 1:18-20

Public education is not neutral. If the system is not for Christ, then it is against Him. So we send our kids there for five hours a day, all year long, and what do we do at home? What is the church doing? Sadly, most Christians cannot answer even the basic questions. Test yourself with the following questions.

How do you know the Bible is God’s Word? Where did the Bible come from? Who put the Bible together? Why are there those books in the Bible and not other books? Do you believe in God? Where did God come from? You believe in an eternal God? How do you explain that? Who made God? Did someone make God?

GEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE FOR A YOUNG EARTH

The surface features of limestone deposits have several puzzling aspects that have stymied uniformitarian (‘slow and gradual’) geologists for well over a century. Especially puzzling are tower karst and tall sharp pinnacles. Eminent uniformitarian geomorphologists Baker and Twidale stated:

Domical forms in limestone, sandstone, and granite are converted to steep-sided towers. Such steepening through time is contrary to the expectable consequences of any of the conventional models of landscape evolution.

Tower karst consists of isolated, steep-sided limestone hills surrounded by a generally flat surface. There are a number of types of tower karst ranging from tall vertical-sided towers to cones and hemispheres. Tower karst commonly protrudes above a flat or nearly flat planation surface produced by erosion, and capped by gravel. Some towers are isolated while others are in groups rising from a common base.

Tower karst is said to be many millions of years old. Based on fossils, the top of the tower karst in southwest China has been assigned an age of 75 million years. But such old dates defy present erosion rates that show the towers could not last more than tens of thousands of years. They also demonstrate that the dating methods that give such old ages are unreliable. Distinguished Chinese hydrogeologist Yuan Daoxian stated it is inconceivable how they could have survived.

According to Michael Oard, karst pinnacles provide strong evidence that they formed underwater from tower karst while the waters of Noah’s Flood were still covering the area. However, it would have occurred in locations where the velocity of the floodwater was relatively low.

WHEN DID SATAN REBEL AGAINST GOD?

The Scripture Ezekiel 28:12-15 (below) indicates Satan was in the garden of Eden when He first sinned against God. The three major passages that deal with the fall of Satan: Genesis 3, Isaiah 14, and Ezekiel 28, in all three, Satan is in the Garden of Eden, and God pronounced the immediate judgment of being cast to the ground and the future consequence of his slander.

His rebellion was prompted by God giving sovereignty over the Cosmos to Adam. Satan became enraged by the notion that he, the great Angel, must be a servant to Adam, made of dust. So the root of jealousy and bitterness began festering within him.

Satan came to Adam and Eve as God’s chief steward, prime minister, and high priest who oversaw everything and was charged with protecting the sacred place they occupied. They had no reason to question his motives. They had known him since the day of their creation. Therefore, Satan could come to them in his unfallen, glorious state and they listened.

Adam and Eve were childlike in understanding the great cosmos, and their wisdom could not compare to Satan’s. Satan was charged with watching over the creatures made of dust, guiding and serving them in any way needed. This obviously brought out the worst in him.

Adam and Eve ejected from the Garden of Eden

Satan’s deadly, slanderous weapon was a simple question: “Has God indeed said? (Genesis 3: 1). This tiny question was an insidious, but subtle slander of God’s character. He was asking, can you really trust what God said? Next, he lied about the consequence of eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. “You will not surely die” (Genesis 3: 4), and then proceeded to truthfully tell the purpose of the tree: to be like God.

Satan subtly slandered God in the Garden of Eden because he did not want to serve anyone, but instead wanted all to serve him. He persuaded Adam and Eve to curse themselves. He used slander to incite Adam to eat the fruit God forbade, knowing Adam would “surely die” (Genesis 2: 17), and he would subsequently commit all his progeny to perpetual death (Romans 5: 12; 1 Corinthians 15: 21– 22). Adam’s transgression caused an imbalance, a debt, a legal lien upon the Earth which must be balanced or paid.

“You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings.
On the day that you were created they were prepared. You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.” Ezekiel 28:12-15

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground,
you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God
I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’” Isaiah 14:12-14
