PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS IN THE LAST DAYS

Christians are the eye of the target and they are coming after them,” warned Dede Laugesen with Save the Persecuted Christians. The numbers are staggering. Leading human rights groups say what’s going on in Nigeria is a genocide. “Over the last 20 years, there have been massive attacks against Christians,” Jeff King, president of International Christian Concern (ICC) said. “50 to 70 thousand have been murdered.” For years, the main terror group was Boko Haram, which seeks to overthrow the government and create an Islamic state. “They go after Christians and moderate Muslims, they push a hard-line Muslim agenda and it is their intention to establish a caliphate and to rid all of Nigeria and West Africa of any Western influence whatsoever,” Laugesen said. Now, there’s a new actor on the scene.

Support your Christian brothers and sisters in Nigeria

In Nigeria’s “Middle Belt” region, where the Muslim North meets the Christian South a terror group made up of Muslim Fulani herders are killing thousands of Christians. More than 1,400 Christians were hacked to death in just the first seven months of 2020 by Fulani herders.

Nigeria’s Muslim president has so far done very little to stop the bloodshed. His police and army are also mostly Muslims. “The attackers are never captured, they are not prosecuted, the security services respond very slowly, a full day can go on with attacks happening and no security shows up and frequently the government officials will provide cover,” explained Laugesen.

Read what Jesus said we can expect in the “end times” before He returns to earth to rule and reign with a rod of iron. We need to start living our lives with an eternal focus now.

But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance, you will gain your lives.Luke 21:12-17

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.Matthew 10:28

IS TOTALITARIANISM COMING TO AMERICA?

When many of us think about totalitarianism, George Orwell’s 1984 or the former Soviet Union often come to mind.  Government inflicts terror and suffering on its people to force them to conform. Rod Dreher, the senior editor of The American Conservative contends America is fast becoming what he calls, a “soft” totalitarian state.

Dreher’s premise is featured in the new book, Live not by Lies: a Manual for Christian Dissidents.

“Ours is going to be a more soft version where they use the infliction of economic pain and marginalization and shaming to force Christians out of the public square and to compel us to conform with left-wing ideology and the fact that it’s soft doesn’t mean it is any less totalitarian,” Dreher said.

Dreher says today, social media is a major driver behind isolation and unease – especially among young people.

“It has made them desperate for something to solve their problem of alienation and their anxiety,” he explained.  “I think this is opening them up to the acceptance of a false idol that will be totalitarian that will tell them, ‘We can take care of all your problems, we can fix it if you will only say yes to us.’ That’s what happened in Russia and that’s what happened in Germany and that’s what’s coming here. And those who advocate Judeo-Christian values and reject the lies of the new American leftist state will be marginalized and singled out for persecution.”

BEING A POWERFUL WITNESS FOR GOD

The life of Daniel is a good place to start. His faithfulness to God and the integrity he displayed resulted in Angels turning up “big time” with the miraculous.

“Then the high officials and the satraps sought to find a ground for complaint against Daniel with regard to the kingdom, but they could find no ground for complaint or any fault, because he was faithful, and no error or fault was found in him.” Daniel 6:4

Daniel’s political opponents “could find no ground for complaint or any fault” (Daniel 6:4), so they reverted to attacking him “in connection with the law of his God” (v. 5). However, the Lord redeemed Daniel’s faithfulness so miraculously that King Darius eventually proclaimed: “He is the living God, enduring forever; his kingdom shall never be destroyed, and his dominion shall be to the end” (v. 26).

Like Daniel, we face opposition that does not understand our faith or believe in our God. They need and deserve our compassion and our witness. But they will receive neither unless we live with such integrity that they see the unmistakable imprint of Jesus on our lives.

In the “end times” Jesus told us we will face intense persecution, but as well, He will be evident with all the gifts of the Spirit in operation in believers’ lives with many coming into the Kingdom as a result.

GENOCIDE OF CHRISTIANS IGNORED

A genocide expert and former Congressman Frank Wolf have warned that violence being committed against Christians in Nigeria and the U.S. government’s “failed” response to it could lead to another genocide like the ones that occurred in Rwanda and Darfur.

“When the world and the U.S. ignored genocide in Rwanda, hundreds of thousands of people died. History, I believe, is repeating itself,” Wolf contended. “Almost daily reports show increasing violence and death in Nigeria. An implosion of Nigeria will destabilise the surrounding countries and send millions of refugees into Europe and beyond.”

The conversation comes as estimates show that thousands have been killed and millions displaced since 2015 due to attacks carried out by predominantly Muslim Fulani militias against mainly Christian farming communities in the Middle Belt of Nigeria as well as Islamic extremist attacks carried out by Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province in northeast Nigeria.

Christians in Nigeria take part in funeral march in April 2019

“Boko Haram has committed genocide in Nigeria. They have killed over 27,000 Nigerians, more than ISIS killed in Iraq and Syria combined,” Wolf stressed during his opening remarks. “The Fulani militants are also committing genocidal massacres against Nigerian Christians.”

“Our own embassy is still denying that this is genocide, that the Fulani militias are committing genocide,” he said. “So have human rights groups. Human Rights Watch, for instance, thinks of it that way. The International Crisis Group thinks of it that way. These are very distinguished organizations and I have great respect for them. But they are dominated by what I would call conflict-prevention narrative.”

“In essential terms, the U.S. embassy’s policies on this violence have been what I call conflict resolution policies. They try to get the groups together and they try to have sort of ‘Kumbaya’ moments in which people talk to each other and everybody is hunky-dory and they get along.

Stanton argued that the problem with those types of policies is that they “do not reach the terrorist groups.”  “They also don’t reach the army and the police and others who need to be really conscious of this huge problem in their country,” he said.

Just further evidence that fits “last days” Biblical prophecies which should be a wake up call to the church to get on with Jesus command to reach out to their communities with the good news of Jesus and His soon coming return. His Kingdom will come. Jesus and the saints will rule the nations with a rod of iron.

“From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords. Revelation 19:15-16

“The one (saints) who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received authority from my Father.” Revelation 2:27

She (Mary) gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne…Revelation 12:5

HUGE PROPHESIED END TIMES SIGN

Is this how capitalism dies? Through decrees from what once were the ivory towers of capitalism, no less?

The Fed is now up to $6 trillion of liquidity, or free money in the sense that it is taking over the role of large banks at 0% interest.

Go global and we’re approaching $20 trillion of central bank pledges and action.

None of the questions that tempered the start of QE are being raised. There is virtually no one talking about moral hazard. What does it mean for our society that government is pushing so far into what was — and may never be again — the private sector? No one will bother answering.

There is no one standing in the way of the largest transfer of wealth in history. The firewalls built into the system are being torn down, and the free markets are dying with barely a whimper.

Even Deutsche Bank, undoubtedly a major beneficiary, seems concerned about where this is going. George Saravelos, global head of Deutsche Bank’s foreign exchange research, just wrote in a report entitled “The end of the free market: impact on currencies and beyond that:

“In a matter of weeks, policymakers have become a backstop for private-sector credit markets. At the extreme, central banks could become permanent command economy agents administering equity and credit prices, aggressively subduing financial shocks. It would be a bi-polar world of financial repression with high real economy volatility but very low financial volatility. A ‘zombie’ market‘.”

The Fed’s most recent announcement — $2.3 trillion in greatly expanded funding — goes as far as dipping into the junk bond market through buying up ETF shares.

A free market this is not. There is no version of capitalism that can divorce risk from profits. There is no version of this that forces society to shoulder the burden while a select few capture the profits.

Never before have we seen such centralised control. For the first time ever, can we see the world being set up for the prophesied Man of Sin (Antichrist) who speaks PEACE and PROSPERITY as long as you take his mark and give him control. Church do you realise where we are in Biblical history. When Jesus told us in the the Olivet Discourse, how it will end before His second coming, He specifically ended with, “SEE, I HAVE TOLD YOU BEFOREHAND” (Matthew 24:25). He told us beforehand so we would not be caught out and be taken in by this man of PEACE.

GOD IS BUILDING HIS CHURCH IN INDIA DESPITE PERSECUTION

Source Premier News Service

The number of converts to Christianity continues to rise across India, despite growing acts of violence towards believers after Hindu nationalist leader Narendra Modi was re-elected as Prime Minister.  Pastor Kumar Swamy of the All India Christian council said “One particular incident took place in the state of Pradesh where a church were having their prayer meeting, which was disrupted. ” Around 50 Hindu extremists were trying to stop the prayer meeting and harassed and manhandled the pastor.”  Pastor Swamy recalled the struggle of sharing the gospel in Indian villages.

He said: “I shared my testimony and a group of people started attacking me with stones, I got hurt and was bleeding.  That’s the scene almost every day in the country as we share our faith.”  He continued: “But today in the same village, by God’s grace, we have around 15 churches planted.

“On one hand, there is attacks, threats and bloodshed but on the other hand, God is growing his church in the midst of this persecution and this will be the story of India.”

Christian leaders have joined together to raise their concerns for the safety of India’s Christian community following the recent election results. Plans have been made to meet with the Prime Minister to request increased security for religious minorities.  Pastor Swamy said: “The Christian Council is planning to lead a delegation of Christian leaders, to meet our Prime Minister, and our Home Minister, to give us protection and freedom.  “We feel it’s important to enlighten our Prime Minister, and assure him that we will be praying and standing with him that God will give him the wisdom to rule this nation with peace.”  According to Pastor Swamy, education and an ongoing dialogue between the government and religious minorities is needed in order to bring about lasting change.

LAST DAYS PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS IS ESCALATING

GOD”S WORD TELLS US CHRISTIANS WILL BE PERSECUTED IN THE LAST DAYS

If you are being used by God to bring many to Christ then you can expect to be the focus of Satan’s minions to stop you and discredit your efforts.

What has happened to Torben Sondergaad of The Last Reformation movement is stark evidence of the extent of the persecution coming our way. You need to watch this video. The following short summary by Torben should get your attention.

I have waited many months to share this with you. This is somehow the hardest and most emotional video I have ever done. But it is also a big relief to finally get this out. Yes, we are seeking Asylum in America, and I would like to share some of the crazy things that have happened in the last six months. We have experienced a crazy and organised persecution from many sides – a persecution that ended up with us leaving Denmark with 8 suitcases, in order to not go to jail, or lose our kids. Later, even going through a spiritual battle like never before, ending up in a hospital, thinking I was going to die. But it has also been a time with fasting and a closeness to Christ that I have never experienced before… How God has come to us, again and again, when we couldn’t take any more… How a man I didn’t know gave me a lot of money in an airport, and how we saw very strong miracles!

SHEEP AMONG WOLVES – CHRISTIANS IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES

The video below, Sheep Among Wolves, sub titled, Chronicles of the Persecuted Church, will challenge Christians living in the West.

Islam is the great challenge of our day particularly for the church. Christians know that God is greater than Satan but are challenged by seeing God and His values being rejected by society and much of the church compromising with the world’s values.

Fortunately, God raises up the David’s to knock down the giants Satan is using, just as David killed Goliath. This video shows us God is still raising up the nobodies to be somebodies in His Kingdom in countries where Christian persecution is rife.

Are we willing to offer up our bodies as a living sacrifice for Jesus? You will learn in this video, that it is a necessary step for Christians living in Muslim countries where they are facing intense persecution.

Isis is revealing the real face of Islam. Where is the love of God in Islam? The God who tells us to love our neighbour as ourselves.

My recent experience with a Muslim taxi driver is worthwhile sharing here.

I had booked a taxi to travel from  my home to Sydney’s domestic airport. The taxi driver looked a Muslim and I felt led by the Holy Spirit to get in the front with him. Immediately, I noticed that the mandatory picture of the driver with his name and licence number was not visible above the front windscreen. I was concerned that he may not be a licensed taxi driver, although a taxi meter was present and operating. A quick prayer, led me to ask him his name so I  said, my name is Ron, what is yours?  He did not want to tell me, but I persevered, and he eventually blurted out, my name is Mohammed and I am ashamed to be a Muslim. Wow! what do I say Lord? My response was simple, why is that Mohammed? He said, he could not get the image of the beheading of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians in Libya by ISIS militants out of his mind nor could he understand why they did it in the name of Allah. What next Lord? All I said was, Mohammed, God calls us to love Him first and then to love our neighbour as our self. Then, I put my hand on his shoulder and said, God calls me to love you Mohammed. The response from Mohammed was dramatic, he took both hands off the wheel and cried out, That’s it! That’s it! It was like a light had turned on for Mohammed, this is the God he wanted to serve. Mind you we almost ran up the footpath. When we got to the airport Mohammed did not want to leave me. I gave him my business card and told him to call me. How many other Muslims are like Mohammed questioning the Muslim God of terrorism?

DIVINE PROVIDENCE FOR ISRAEL FOLAU

In a landmark judgement, the Court of Appeal has upheld the rights of UK Christians to freely express their faith by handing victory to former student social worker Felix Ngole.

The Court of Appeal (COA, formally “Her Majesty’s Court of Appeal in England”)[4] is the highest court within the Senior Courts of England and Wales,, and second in the legal system of England and Wales only to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.

Overturning a High Court decision to uphold Felix’s expulsion from Sheffield University, the crucial outcome represents a major development of the law. It is now clear that Christians have the legal right to express Biblical views on social media and elsewhere in public without fear for their professional careers.

This is the first Court of Appeal judgement regarding freedom of expression of Biblical views which sets limits on the rights of professional regulators to limit free speech on social media. The ruling is an authoritative statement of the law, likely to be relied upon in hundred of current and future cases.

Felix Ngole’s win in this landmark case in the UK has enormous implications for Israel Folau’s case against Rugby Australia.

“The university wrongly confused the expression of religious views with the notion of discrimination,” the three High Court appeal judges concluded yesterday. “The mere expression of views on theological grounds (for example, that ‘homosexuality is a sin’) does not necessarily connote that the person expressing such views will discriminate on such grounds.”

Christian lobby groups in Australia have seized upon the judgement as a win for freedom of religious expression, saying it could be “manna from heaven” for sacked former rugby union star Israel Folau in his legal battle against Rugby Australia.

They say the four-year legal battle waged by Felix Ngole against the University of Sheffield bears similarities to Folau’s experience after he was sacked by RA over his biblical “go to hell” post in April.

“This will send chills down the spine of Rugby Australia,’’ Human Rights Law Alliance chief John Steenhof said yesterday.

“Israel Folau and his team will be thanking God for divine providence.’’ And so they should.
