Archbishop of York says gay sex is OK if in ‘committed, stable, faithful relationships’

The Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, and Rev. Canon Stephen Race (R) when he is consecrated as the new Bishop of Beverley during a service in York Minster on November 30, 2022, in York, England.

BBC Radio Four’s William Crawley asked the archbishop the following questions:

  1. Are homosexuality and same-sex marriage sinful? The C of E’s new stance on the issue is that it’s OK, as long as couples are in “committed, stable, faithful relationships,” adding that same-sex married couples will be “welcomed fully into the life of the Church, on their terms.”
  2. William Crawley asked the archbishop whether the C of E’s recent decision not to officiate same-sex weddings while allowing gay marriages to be blessed was a “bit of a fudge.” Cottrell responded, “I see it as a way of holding together a church which doesn’t agree on this issue and it takes us to a place where LGBTIQ+ people, people entering into same-sex marriages, people in civil partnerships are able to come to the Church of England and those relationships and marriages can be acknowledged and celebrated.”
  3. Crawley then asked if the denomination believes “gay sex is sin,? The archbishop replied, “Well, what we are saying is that physical and sexual intimacy belongs in committed, stable, faithful relationships, and therefore where we see a committed, stable, faithful relationship between two people of the same sex, we are now in a position where those people can be welcomed fully into the life of the Church, on their terms.”

Crawley said the C of E must be blessing same-sex unions because it believes it to be good. Archbishop Cottrell replied, “As I say, we believe that stable, faithful, committed, loving relationships are good. They are the place for physical intimacy …”

Crawley again asked, “And not a sin?” The archbishop then responded, “But well, that … that’s what I’m saying … we’re looking to focus on the good in relationships and we want people to live in good, stable, faithful relationships.”

Earlier this month, C of E bishops apologized to the LGBT community for their “rejection and exclusion” within the denomination, saying they were now “welcome and valued” within the denomination.

The group Christian Concern said Cottrell’s statement confirms the CofE’s departure from its own biblical teaching on human sexuality which states that marriage is: “in its nature a union permanent and lifelong, for better for worse, till death them do part, of one man with one woman.”

Andrea Williams, Christian Concern’s chief executive who was also a member of the general synod for 10 years, said Cottrell’s comments “embody the compromised position of the Church of England on human sexuality.” “The role of the Archbishop of York is to lead in explaining God’s beautiful pattern for human life and relationships, not to preside over a convoluted process of compromise. Sadly, it has been a failure of leadership from the start by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York. For this, they will answer to God, and we must pray for them. It is not loving or kind to hide the truth from the culture,” she said.

God’s Word is adamant that sexual expression is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman. Any other form of sexual relationship is sexually immoral.

This is just one of the many signs Jesus told us would happen before His second coming to restore righteousness.

“And then many will fall away (from faith) and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Matthew 24:10-13

The Regathering of the Jewish People – The Most Important Prophetic Development of the 20th Century

Some 70,000 people from 95 different countries immigrated to Israel in 2022, the most olim (immigrants on aliyah to Isreal) in 23 years and a dramatic increase from 2021, when about 28,600 immigrants arrived in the country.

“Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when they shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ but ‘As the Lord lives who brought up and led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ Then they shall dwell in their own land.” Jeremiah 23:7

We live in an age when God is fulfilling many prophecies regarding the Jews. What a testimony this is to the fact that God is alive and well, that God is on his throne and in control, and that God is faithful to his promises! This regathering of the Jews was foretold in Bible prophecy. The Old Testament prophets promised repeatedly that the day would come when God would regather the Jews to the land of Israel. This remarkable regathering of the Jews from the four corners of the Earth has occurred in our lifetime and it is the most significant end-times prophecy given by Jesus prior to His return.

“I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that…through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed.” Genesis 22:16-18

The Covenant of Abraham is yet to be fulfilled in its entirety and is still an alive and active promise, underpinning God’s relationship with the entire world.

The nature of the Abrahamic Covenant is strikingly unconditional as recorded in the ceremony of Genesis 15:7–12 and 15:17–18:

“I am the Lord who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.” But he said, “O Lord God, how am I to know that I shall possess it?” He said to him, “Bring me a heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” And he brought him all these, cut them in half, and laid each half over against the other. But he did not cut the birds in half. And when birds of prey came down on the carcasses, Abram drove them away.
As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. And behold, dreadful and great darkness fell upon him… When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates, the land of the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites and the Jebusites.”

With the serious nature of a blood covenant in mind, it becomes even more remarkable to see that it is the LORD alone who moved between the rows of animal halves. The smoking furnace and flaming torch describe how he appeared. Because the LORD completed the ceremony without Abram, God must honour his commitments. Nothing that Abram and his descendants did or will do can change that. Also, the Bible is very clear that the Promised Land is on earth and its borders are well-defined. The land promise in the Abrahamic Covenant has never been completed. It will be by Jesus’ Millennial reign on this earth with the resurrected Saints.

Brave New World: Artificial Wombs Could Be Here in a Few ‘Short Years,’ Says German Molecular Biologist

A molecular biologist in Germany has announced he is creating a fully functional artificial womb and claims that in a few “short years” it would replace traditional birth.

Last December, Hashem Al-Ghaili released a concept video that features artificial womb pods for human babies.

The video below is titled Ectolife: The World’s First Artificial Womb Facility. It shows details of a factory that can incubate up to 30,000 babies per year by utilizing 75 state-of-the-art labs containing up to 400 pods.

According to the video, every pod is designed to replicate the exact functions of a women’s uterus allowing the baby to access nutrients, oxygen, hormones, and antibodies. Each pod would also monitor the unborn baby’s vital signs including the baby’s heartbeat, temperature, blood pressure, breathing rate, and oxygen levels. Physical and genetic abnormalities would be monitored as well.

Al-Ghaili is a filmmaker, producer, and molecular biologist who is using his background in science and technology to develop this brand-new concept, his website reads.

He told Science and Stuff that Ectolife would be life-changing. “It’s a perfect solution for women who had their uterus surgically removed due to cancer or other complications. It could also help solve issues that stem from low sperm count… [it] could ultimately make miscarriage a thing of the past,” he said.

Parents who use Ectolife would have the ability to monitor their baby’s growth through an app and virtually be in the pod with the baby, seeing everything he or she sees.

According to the video, parents will be offered an “elite package” that would allow them to genetically edit their baby’s traits. That  includes customizing the baby’s eye color, hair color, skin tone, physical strength, height, and level of intelligence.

Additionally, the baby will have the opportunity to hear a wide range of sounds that mimic what is heard in utero.

“Parents could even choose the playlist” or play their own voices, so their child gets more used to them,” Al-Ghaili said.

Al-Ghaili believes these pods can become a reality in the next 10 years.

As CBN News has reported, Israeli scientists have already been able to grow mice embryos for up to 11 days inside an artificial womb.

In a peer-reviewed scientific journal, Cell, biologist Jacob Hanna explained that without the use of sperm, egg, or fertilization, mice stem cells placed in a Petri dish spontaneously joined together, outside of the womb, and assembled embryos with beating hearts, intestinal tracts, and brains.

Hanna’s biotech company, Renewal Bio, claimed the synthetic mice embryos were not “real” embryos, but a research director at the Charlotte Lozier Institute told CBN News that the claim is misleading.

“My contention would be the technique to create them may be synthetic, but if you have something growing [that has] a beating heart and a nervous system and limbs and digits and other organs that look exactly like the organism you would take out of the womb, it’s an embryo,” Dr. David Prentice, Ph.D., said.

Renewal Bio later announced using this method to make human embryos to harvest tissue for organ transplants and anti-aging procedures.

Meanwhile, Al-Ghaili believes it is time to push a new form of birth and says Ectolife is the next logical step.

“This would put an end to age-related infertility, forever,” Al-Ghaili wrote on Instagram. “So, why aren’t we doing this now? Because there are needless restrictions on research that deals with human embryos. Research on human embryos is not allowed beyond 14 days, and that’s a big issue! We need to change the rules and begin exploring options that will help people who are suffering from infertility.”

Pro-life scholars say experimenting with living human embryos is unethical, violates the humanity of the experimental human subject, and crosses a line into a sci-fi world with unforeseen consequences. THE GOSPEL BRINGS LIFE TO SOME AND HOSTILITY FROM OTHERS

The Gospel brings life to those who receive it. But it often leads to hostility from those who do not. Thus, the desire to comprise the Word is ever-present as compromise may lessen or even eliminate one’s suffering. For Paul, the presence of the Holy Spirit is the key. Timothy can guard the treasure “through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us”.

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7

“By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.” 2 Timothy 1:14

Sadly, many people in our institutional churches including leaders have never been born again by the Holy Spirit. He indwells all true believers and provides the power and love, and self-control to live the Christian life. He will produce the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22, all 9) and provide the ministry gifts (all 9).

“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He will display at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.” 1 Timothy 6:12-16

As I have mentioned many times previously there are many more prophesied signs of Jesus’ second coming (2,000) than there were of His first coming (300). The religious leaders of the day, the Pharisees and Sadducees totally misread the signs of His first coming and sadly most of the institutional/denominational church is miss reading the many signs preceding Jesus’ second coming.

Supersessionism or Replacement Theology is one of the main reasons. The source of Replacement Theology came about in the first century.

The Messianic/Christian debt to Hebrew Scripture, Jewish exegesis, and divine revelation was evident to all followers of The Way. In fact, Jewish-Christian relations, in spite of second and third-century Christian elitist assaults upon all things Jewish, continued with good rhythm and solid relationship until the mid-fourth century with the advent of the First Council of Nicaea. At the Council of Nicaea, under Constantine’s oversight, the Church formally disconnected from the Jewish roots of Christian theology and practice, by separating the celebration of Easter from the Celebration of Passover.

But the sentiments of the Bishops at Nicaea have their foundations in debates that began in the second century. Justin Martyr crafted his Dialogue with Trypho the Jew on the heels of the Bar Kochba uprising in the Land of Israel, then under Roman rule, and first called “Palestine,”, in 135 C.E. The Dialogue was finally published in 150 C.E. some 15 years before Justin’s martyrdom. Here Justin made his strong case for a “New Israel,” a “True Israel,” in replacement of biblical Israel―hence, the term “Replacement Theology” or “Supersessionism” (that the Church Supersedes Israel).

Although we find warnings against Replacement Theology (Supersessionism) in the Book of Romans, Paul attacks it at its roots and reminds Gentile followers of Yeshua that “the root (that is, Israel) supports you (Romans 11:18b). However, what begins with Justin’s Dialogue, an increasingly hostile disposition towards the Jewish people, the God of the Hebrew Bible (sometimes referred to as the “demiurge”), the Torah and any expression of faith that was linked to these began to flourish in the newly forming institutional Church.

For historical reasons too complex to explain here, the Church fathers sought to create a new “wall of partition” between Jewish and Christian people. This would not only result in thousands of assaults upon Jewish people over the next 1,500 years but also cripple Christian self-understanding as a “daughter” of the Faith of Israel. God intended for Israel and the apostolic fruit of Jewish efforts at winning non-Jews to Yeshua to labor for the Kingdom in total partnership under Yeshua. The Christian negation of all things Jewish helped to foster Jewish resistance to the Gospel message.

This Christian elitist antipathy toward Jews and Judaism became woven into the fabric of Christian theology and thereby into Western civilization. Martin Luther and the other reformers inherited this anti-Jewish theological posture and cultural prejudice. Luther, heralded as the Father of the Reformation and an avid student of Paul is credited for his justification by faith emphasis as newly discovered in Romans. But in the processing of his new insights, he took severe liberties to castigate the Jewish people, even Jewish Believers in Yeshua. This led Luther to craft during the final decade of his life horrific written sermonic siege upon the Jewish world. That collection informed much of the Western expressions of anti-Semitism over the centuries that followed and was quoted oftentimes by the Nazi Regime in the days of Hitler.

However, the re-establishment of the Land of Israel in 1948 and the recapture of the City of Jerusalem in 1967 have forced the Church to reconsider long-held attitudes towards the Jewish people. In a time when Israel did not inhabit the Land promised to them by the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, it was a bit easier to believe that He may have abandoned His Covenant promises to Israel. With the nation re-born in a day (Isaiah 66:7-8) and the City now under Israeli sovereignty (Luke 21:24), Christians of many denominations are seriously reconsidering many long-held theological positions concerning Israel and the Jewish people. May the Lord eradicate the fallacy of Replacement Theology from His Bride, the Church, in our lifetime and in our days. DETRANSITION: THE WOUNDS THAT WON’T HEAL

Dr. Jordan B Peterson sits down with 18 years old de-transitioner Chloe Cole. Chloe was indoctrinated, affirmed, and set on an irreparable path at the age of 15, and now finds herself abandoned, and criticized by the community and the doctors that led her over the edge. Chloe Cole is an 18-year-old de-transitioner from The Central Valley of California. She started her transition at 12 years old, puberty blockers and testosterone at 13, and had a double mastectomy at 15 years old. She is now suffering physically, and emotionally and as a result is a strong advocate against gender ideology along with many others.

London’s Tavistock Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) has been dismantled after a report by Dr. Hilary Cass that found serious missteps, weaknesses, and evidentially unsupported treatments of gender dysphoric children. Potential lawsuits are now a reality. Of the 19,000 young people treated at Tavistock, over 1,000 of them may bring lawsuits against the GIDS 

Back to Chloe, what struck me, is at 18 as a result of the medication and surgery she is now experiencing pain in her bones. in the joints and in her back, she is having bladder problems, the surgery to remove her breasts has ongoing complications, and now that she is transitioning she could not breastfeed even if she could conceive and it appears she is already experiencing the symptoms of menopause. What a disaster and as Jordan Peterson outlines the medical profession will eventually pay a heavy price for going along with this Satanically-driven movement to change a person’s biological sex using blockers, hormones, and surgery.

What about governments like Australia that have made it a gaolable offense to try and counsel young people that want to transition? Hopefully, they will be brought down for going along with this madness.

All of this is evidence we are in the last days. Thank goodness Jesus told us that when these things start to happen look up because your redemption draws near.

“Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:27

SEXUAL PERVERSION IS A MAJOR “END TIMES” SIGN

The first chapter of Romans may give the greatest explanation of the sign of sexual perversion in the last days. We read that once
man perverts God’s plan for sex, they are given over to a depraved mind taking them deeper and deeper into sexual perversion. In that chapter, the depravity leads to an embracing of homosexuality and gender issues.
Compared to past generations homosexuality and gender confusion have reached unimaginable heights. In every debate against legalizing these perversions, it is constantly said that normalizing one sexual perversion is a slippery slope to something else. It truly is a downward spiral. Something the Holy Spirit made clear through the Apostle Paul in the epistle to the church in Rome. And yet nations are legalizing it and criminalizing anyone who speaks out against it. God calls these goat nations and He will judge them harshly. There are still some sheep nations see my post entitled Hungary – A Sheep Nation by God’s Standard, April 22nd.

“Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, and malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, and ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.” Romans 1:24-27

PROPHESIED WARS AND RUMOURS OF WARS

The Israel Air Force and the United States Air Force held the largest joint aerial exercise in years, simulating strikes against Iran’s nuclear program and mid-flight refueling.

The two-day drill took place over the Mediterranean Sea and Israel. Fighter jets from both countries simulated long-range flights and striking distant targets, increasing readiness for combat scenarios with Iran.

The Israel Defense Forces and the American military’s Central Command have conducted several joint drills over recent years.

(Israel Defense Forces) In July of 2022, President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Yair Lapid signed a Joint Declaration on the U.S.-Israel Strategic Partnership – also known as the Jerusalem Declaration.

The declaration stresses the U.S. commitment “never to allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon, and that it is prepared to use all elements of its national power to ensure that outcome.”

The joint drill was the subject of meetings in Washington last week between IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi and U.S. officials, including Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, and CENTCOM Commander Gen. Michael Kurilla.

While there, Kochavi was awarded the Legion of Merit by the U.S. Armed Forces in recognition of his achievements in “establishing Israel’s position as a leader of groundbreaking operational capabilities in the Middle East,” and strengthening the Israeli-American strategic alliance, a statement from the military said.

Kochavi was also recognized for stewarding the U.S.-Israeli military-to-military relationship through a transition period, as U.S. European Command handed over its geographic combatant command responsibility for Israel to U.S. Central Command, which oversees operations and regional cooperation in the Middle East.

Some NIS 3.5 billion ($1 billion) has been earmarked from the IDF’s NIS 58 billion ($17 billion) defense budget for the next year military activity relating to combating Iran.

Outgoing Defense Minister Benny Gantz earlier this month warned Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu to think “very carefully” before striking Iran.

“Israel has the ability to act in Iran. We have the readiness, development capabilities, and long-term plans we are managing. We need to prepare for this possibility, and we will also need to consider this issue very carefully before carrying it out,” he said.

God has warned us of exactly what will unfold in the end times that precede Jesus’ return to restore righteousness to His world so we should not be taken by surprise God is in control.

“And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.” Mark 13:7-8

HAVE THE LAST DAYS BEGUN?

Apostle Paul commends the Bereans as being more noble” because they “searched the scriptures daily” to see if Paul’s teachings were true.

“Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Many of them, therefore, believed” Acts 17:11

If the Bereans thought it was wise to double-check Paul’s writing with the scriptures, shouldn’t we be regularly checking the scriptures to make sure what we’ve been taught is accurate?

As you read 10 Signs The Last Days Have Already Begun I pray that you will be like the Bereans were, that you’ll be a story detective, searching the scriptures daily to make sure what is being taught here is true. May the Lord grant you even more of the context you need to understand your part in His Story better.

Jesus began his teaching to the disciples on the end times with: “Now learn this parable from the fig tree.” Jesus thought this teaching was so important that He commanded his followers to learn this parable and what its interpretation meant. It was the only time in scripture that He gave His followers that command.

Learning this parable is probably a great place for any Christian to start understanding the Last Days. From it, you can figure out if you are part of the Final Generation; and therefore, if you need to begin to prepare for those times.

If we can know and confirm in our hearts that we are the final generation and we’re in the last days, then how will we respond?

Mental belief isn’t enough, we must respond in action.
Conviction is required. Conviction we can know the signs. Conviction they are being fulfilled. Conviction to believe God will bring these things to pass. Conviction to prepare. Conviction to help others prepare. Conviction to step back from the arguments and move forward in unity. Conviction to make the most of this time for the Lord.

Satan is acting in response to knowing the end is coming. He knows his time is short so he’s trying to inflict as much harm as possible.

THE GREATEST RISKS AHEAD FOR CHRISTIANS

What will be the greatest risk for Christians in the years ahead? What does God tell us will happen in the last days? One thing is clear, Jesus tells us that God initiates a lot of events to alert us, so we will be prepared particularly for the coming persecution. The tribulation will intensify to great tribulation when the Antichrist claims to be God.

“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.” Matthew 24:21-22

Jesus wants us to be bold and courageous, to be overcomers, at this time doing what He has called us to do. We have been entrusted with the Holy Spirit to guide our every step. Whatever happens, we can be sure He will be with us through it all, just as He was with Stephen.

“And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” Acts 7:59-60

In fact, all of these “end times” events (birth pangs) start at the same time, it is a multi-crisis and that is exactly what we see playing out right now.

“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Matthew 24:7-13
