MUST SEE MOVIES TO CHALLENGE AND INSPIRE

With Easter close, the release of the movie Paul, Apostle of Christ is a blessing. It is the story of Luke and Paul. Luke risks his life when he ventures into the city of Rome to visit his friend Paul, who is held captive in Nero’s darkest, bleakest cell. Nero is determined to rid Rome of Christians , and does not flinch from executing them in the grisliest way possible. Before Paul’s death can be enacted, Luke resolves to write another book, one that details the beginnings of “The Way” and the birth of what will become the church.

Bound in chains, Paul struggle is internal. He has survived so much – floggings, shipwreck, starvation, stoning, hunger and thirst – yet as he waits for is appointment with death, he is haunted by the shadows of his past misdeeds. Alone in the dark, he wonders if he has been forgotten … and if he has the strength to finish well.

Two men struggle against a determined emperor and the frailties of the human spirit in order to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ and spread their message to the world. We of course know they succeeded beyond their imagination.

It is no coincidence this film is being released in these “last days” when tribulation for Christians is increasing.

Another inspirational film, already in theatres now is the film “I can Only Imagine” Watch the two minute trailer below.

TIME TO BECOME DISCIPLES OF CHRIST

Jesus has promised us:

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.John 14:12

And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Mark 16:15-18

  1. Do you believe it is your Father’s will for you and the people around you to be healed? Seek His will and put your will in His hands. Luke 5:12-1
  2. In the light of John 14:12, do you question the availability of the power of Jesus and that He now commissions us to do likewise?

Need more Scriptures?

“And He called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.  And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.” Luke 9:1-2, 6

Next Jesus sent out the seventy-two. “Go! I am sending you… Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’” Luke 10:3, 9

“And behold, a woman who had suffered from a discharge of blood for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, for she said to herself, “If I only touch his garment, I will be made well.” Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, ‘Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.’ And instantly the woman was made well.” Matthew 9:20-22.

“But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” And Jesus said to him,” ‘If you can!’ All things are possible for one who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!” …most of them said, “He is dead.” But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.” Mark 9:22-24,26-27.

Be blessed as you look to Jesus the Son of God –

  • Pray by faith for God’s healing power for you and those around you.
  • Discern God’s will and pray according to His will.
  • Pray for those the Spirit leads you to – those who need healing as a demonstration of God’s personal love for them – so they know the kingdom of heaven is real and near.

In these last days only disciples of Christ will bring His Kingdom to impact this increasingly dark world. Find a church that is raising up disciples who will then make more disciples.

AMERICA – THE GOOD & THE BAD

THE GOOD – President Trump delivers a State of the Union Address that is positive and honours God.

He stated that America is about FAITH and GOD not GOVERNMENT and BUREAUCRATS!

NEWS BRIEF: Canada Free Press, January 31st, 2018 “Trump: This is our new American moment.

The looks on Democrats faces were priceless. The lengthy discussion on the positive effects from the tax cuts probably sounded politically to Democrats but when you are giving a speech about how the country is doing , it is entirely appropriate to talk about how a policy you implemented is playing out in real life.

Democrats sat like zombies, most of them refusing to be happy even when the news was happy for their constituents. Chuck Schumer looked constipated as he tried to figure out whether he should applaud or give Trump a death glare. Nancy Pelosi looked like she d been replaced by a mannequin. Trump was being perfectly conciliatory, yet they couldn’t acknowledge it because seething hatred of Donald Trump has basically become the brand of the Democratic Party.”
“… the results are starting to look pretty good. The economy is gaining strength, wages are rising, energy production is booming and the benefits of the tax cut are being felt across the board … What the public hears about Trump is that he’s a monster whose unfit for office. What they saw of him last night makes that claim look pretty ridiculous. So does his actual governing record. At some point, if this keeps up, the public is going to conclude that it s Trump s overheated critics who are actually deranged.”

Liberal Mass Media — ABC — spun this magnificent speech as “divisive”, and “gloomy” and “stoking racial tensions”! Were they watching the same speech as the rest of America? They prove, once again, that no American should pay attention to Main Stream Media any longer on any subject!

THE BAD – Democrats Are In Favour Of Dismembering Viable Infants

NEWS BRIEF: “MATT WALSH: The Democrat Party Is In Favour Of Dismembering Viable Infants. Let’s Drop The Euphemisms”, The Daily Wire, January 30, 2018

“Yesterday, all but three Democrats, plus two particularly despicable Republicans, voted against a bill that would ban abortion after 20 weeks, demonstrating once again why the Democrat Party is the Party of Satan.”

“Democrats sabotaged the effort, ensuring that thousands upon thousands of human beings will be butchered in the coming year. It’s a cliche but no less true to say that the Democrats have blood on their hands. Lots of blood. And I think it’s necessary to talk about just how that blood is shed.”

Why are Liberals generally and Democrats specifically so determined to murder as many pre-born babies as possible, ripping apart the sanctity of the mother’s womb, to rip these babies as they possibly can.

American society is entering the final stage where its hatred for God is creating a love for death . Since the German Holocaust, many authors have stated that the worth of any society may be gauged by how it protects the lives of its most innocent and helpless citizens. These authors felt this was one of the most important lessons which the Nazi Holocaust taught Western society. Obviously, these lessons have been swept away by this resurgence of Nazi/Hitlerian values. When we describe this medical research on the bodies of pre-born babies, can you not see Hitler’s ghastly research on the bodies of their doomed Jewish captors? The parallel between this medical abomination of World War II and today’s medical research abomination is strong and unmistakable. Yet, no one is crying out for Justice, for a Nuremburg-style War Crimes Tribunal.

That Tribunal for America will convene in Heaven, really soon. America’s future hangs in the balance.

UNLEASH SUPERNATURAL POWER

Unleash Supernatural, Holy Spirit Power

It is important to remember what Paul told the Corinthian church:

“I was with you in weakness, in fear and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:3-4

BAKB book pic

Every believer has within them the potential to release kingdom power in their sphere of influence. The keys:

1) Believe you have the right to His power

2) Understand how to use His power

3) Be willing to release it when He directs you to.

Millions of Christians have been taught that salvation is enough, simply a get-out-of-hell-free promise. Do kind works and pray for the rapture.

Some do recognise the existence of Holy Spirit power and are willing to release it at His direction, exactly as Jesus taught in John 14:12, “Truly, truly I say to you, he who believes in Me will do the works that I do also. And he will do greater works than these because I am going to My Father.”

Jesus gave His disciples training in how to properly release Heaven’s supernatural power on earth.

Holy Spirit will guide you, ask Him. (Matt. 7:7, Luke 11:9).

Holy Spirit will teach you. (John 14:26).

Fortunately, in these last days, we are seeing a return to church as described in the Book of Acts. Check out Torben Sondergaards website Last Reformation and Francis Chan YouTube videos. Also my website http://www.powerpointsermons.net for videso and sermons.

DANGEROUS VEIL OF DECEPTION IN THE LAST-DAYS GENERATION

One warning in Scripture about the last generation is that they can only hear things that “tickle their ears” or make them feel good (2 Timothy 4:3-4). It is hard to imagine a generation that better fits that description than the one now emerging. This group has been conditioned to reject, and even be offended by, anything that challenges the humanistic propaganda they have been fed through education, entertainment and the media. Previous generations have had their own fits of worldliness and carnality, but never have we seen the kind of violence and outrage that the emerging generation displays toward ideas that challenge their safe spaces and comfort zones. Such a “safe place” mentality could not be a more dangerous place, and this will ultimately lead to the most terrible consequences of all.

Is there anything we can do to help those in such eternal jeopardy? Yes, we can do what Jesus exhorted His followers to do at the end of this age:

  1. STAND UP: We must be bold with the truth and not be affected by how our boldness and clarity will offend many today. It will bring accusations and persecution, but this is an honor and glory for all who follow the King. Find one thing Jesus said or did for which He was not attacked. He said that His followers would be treated the same way. He told us to expect the same if we abide in Him and speak His truth. We are told that all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution (2 Tim. 3:12). Therefore, we should be alarmed if we are not getting accused, slandered and persecuted. Stand up!
  2. LOOK UP: If we know that God approves of us, then we should not care what anyone else on earth thinks. The apostle Paul wrote, “For if I were still trying to please men, I would not be the servant of Christ” (see Gal. 1:10). If we have seen the King on His throne, how can we be impressed with or fear any man? The fear of man, or seeking the approval of men, is the No. 1 factor that will compromise or nullify our service to the King. Look up to Him, not down at men.
  3. REJOICE: “The joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10c). If our joy is centred in the Lord and His approval, not man’s, we will be strong in the faith and for the truth. Never let anything steal your joy in the Lord. If we have the true and holy fear of the Lord, then we will not fear anything or anyone else on earth. Therefore, to live in the holy fear of God is the greatest liberation from the shackles the world would try to put on us. The only hope for the emerging generation to be free from the shackles of fear and conformity is to see the bold strength of those not bound by it—those who do not live in the fear of man or anything. Their King’s perfect love casts out all perverted, evil fear. Extract from article by Rick Joyner in Charisma Media 22/01/2018

TIME TO STAND STRONG AND STAY THE COURSE

Francis Chan speaks to pastors, realising there is an urgency at this time to challenge leaders of the need to be courageous and fearless, and to prepare their flock for the coming of the Lord. Of the need to stay on course, despite the tragic end times events that are unfolding. Don’t judge those outside the church, but we do need to judge those inside the church.

He takes us to 2 Timothy 3. In the last days there will come times of great difficulty, people will be lovers of self, “lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God”, even having the appearance of godliness.

“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.” 2 Timothy 3;1-7

He really challenges these pastors:

  • about loving their flock, as Jesus prayed to His Father that they would be one as we are one. Why? So that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.
  • about teaching the truth of God’s Word.
  • about the truth of what can be achieved with the Holy Spirit.

HOPE FOR AUSTRALIA – TREASURER ON RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Treasurer’s Speech on Religious Liberty Scott Morrison MP

Address to the House of Representatives – Marriage amendment,  4th December 2017

“I was amongst the 39 percent that voted for the traditional view of marriage to be maintained. As a nation we must now move forward in grace and love, as my Christian faith teaches us.
Image result for picture of Scott Morrison in Parliament giving speech
I will respect the democratic outcome of this Australian Marriage survey, both nationally and in my own community, by not standing in the way of this Bill.
However, with the closure of one debate, a new one commences. This new debate is not about opposing same sex marriage, it is about sensibly protecting religious freedoms.
There are almost five million Australians that voted no in this survey who are now coming to terms with the fact that on this issue, they are a minority. That did not used to be the case in the Australia they have lived all or most of their lives in.

They have concerns that their broader views and their broader beliefs are also in the minority and therefore under threat. And they are seeking assurances at this time.
Assurances, rightly or wrongly, that the things that they hold dear are not under threat also because of this change.
On the night of the first referendum to establish our federation in June 1898, Alfred Deakin prayed ‘thy blessing has rested on us here yesterday and we pray that it may be the means of creating and fostering throughout Australia a Christlike citizenship’.
In an earlier speech campaigning in Bendigo for the Federation he quoted a local poet defining the true Australian goal of Federation as for ‘us to arise, united, penitent, and be one people – mighty, serving God’.

Our Constitution went on to proclaim …

WHEREAS the people of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, and Tasmania, humbly relying on the blessing of Almighty God, have agreed to unite in one indissoluble Federal Commonwealth … with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal.
Then in S116 our Constitution deliberately afforded a protection ‘that the Commonwealth shall not make any law .. for prohibiting the free exercise of any religion.’
This is the religious inheritance of our Federation, our Constitution, from more than a century ago. If we ever act in dissonance with these founding principles, it will be to our peril.
This is not to say that Australia is a nation with an established state religion. It is not. We are thankfully free of such a restriction on our liberty.
Such freedom though should not be used as a weapon against the importance of faith, belief and religion in our society, or as a justification to drive faith and religion from our public square. At the same time, protection of religious freedoms cannot be used as a cloak for religious extremism, that undermines our freedoms.
We may be a secular state, but we are not a Godless people to whom faith, belief and religion are not important. Quite the contrary. It is deeply central to the lives of millions of Australians. In my own church, like many others, we refer to Australia as the great south land of the Holy Spirit.
Whether you raise your hands, bow to your knees, face the holy city, light incense, a candle or the menorah, faith matters in this country, and we cannot allow its grace and peace to be diminished, muffled or driven from the public square.
Separation of church and state, does not mean the inoculation of the influence of faith on the state. The State shouldn’t run the church and the church shouldn’t run the State. In fact, separation of church and state was set up to protect the church from the State, not the other way around. To protect religious freedoms.
As I argued in my maiden speech in this place, secularism, secular humanism, is no more our established state religion than any other. It is one of the many free views held by Australians. It holds no special place of authority in our Commonwealth.
For millions of Australians, faith is the unshakeable cornerstone of their lives. It informs their identity and provides a genuine sense of well being. It is the reason why people can look beyond their own circumstances and see a greater purpose. For countless Australians, faith is life.
In my maiden speech to parliament almost ten years ago, I spoke of the two key influences on my life – my family and my faith.
And how my faith in Jesus Christ was inherently personal, not political or preachy. As Christians we do not lay claim to perfection or moral precedence. In fact it is the opposite. Conscious of the frailties and vanities of our own human condition, Christians should be more conscious of the same amongst those around us. This is why faith encourages social responsibility – the bedrock of faith in action…
The fragrance of faith has washed over society for centuries and helped to shape and mould it for the better.

Our own nation was founded, built and undeniably shaped by Christian values, morals and traditions that helped to unite a fledgling country. A nation blessed and formed on Christian conviction. These issues of faith are not only gifted to us by our Federation fathers, but the many generations of Australians who have come to us since, including those from non-Christian faiths and experience… But there was one thing that could never be stripped away, through a millennia of struggle. One thing that sustained these stoic (Maronite)  communities. It wasn’t the governments that came and went with the wind, it wasn’t the leaders that so promised peace. It was their faith.
A faith that routinely stared adversity in the face and prevailed. A faith that held families together. When everything else was a struggle, their faith stood strong. A faith that the hundreds of thousands of Lebanese Maronite Australians brought with them to Australia from as early as the 1860s. But so too did the many Greek Orthodox migrants, Coptic Christians from Egypt, still being persecuted in their home country today, Syrian Christians from both Orthodox and Catholic faiths and Armenians.
And for the many Chinese, Korean and Filipino Australians, of Catholic, Baptist, Anglican, Presbyterian and Pentecostal faiths. Some brought their faith with them, others found it here in Australia.
When most of these migrants came to Australia it was not the Government they first turned to, to assist them to adjust to their new life in Australia. It was their local church or other religious community. If you want to understand the strong opposition to changing our marriage act in western Sydney and elsewhere you must understand the central nature of faith and community to the lives of these and so many other Australians.
Nine out of the top ten electorates that voted No are represented by Labour members, and are comprised of the vibrant faith communities that I have just spoken of.
I would urge them all of these Labour members to be freed up, released from any constraint, that would enable them to stand with their constituents now in supporting amendments that deliver the protections of religious freedoms that are currently absent from this Bill.
To pretend this Bill is whole and satisfies their concerns is to confirm a lack of understanding and empathy for those who hold them.
These Australians are looking for acknowledgement and understanding from this Parliament and their representatives. They are seeking assurance that changes being made to our marriage laws will not undermine the stability, and freedom of their faith and religious expression – what they teach their children, what their children are taught, the values they share and foster within their families, community, within and without their Church walls.
This a reasonable request that this Parliament should support.
commend the PM for initiating the Ruddock Review in protecting religious freedoms. Few people understand these communities and the issues and risks as well as the former Attorney. But that process is not, nor was it designed to be a substitute for sensible action now in this Bill.

To fail to make improvements to this Bill now would demonstrate a failure to appreciate not only the underpinnings of our own liberal democracy and Federation, but the nature of modern multicultural Australia.

I commend my colleagues both in the Senate and this house for standing firm on their convictions and beliefs; both representing their faith and those in their communities that share their values. I will be joining many of my colleagues in supporting amendments to be moved by the Members for Deakin, Mitchell, Canning and Mallee.

I will be joining them in moving amendments to ensure that no organisation can have their public funding or charitable status threatened as a result of holding views that are consistent with the traditional definition of marriage between a man and a woman.

The test of faith is the fruit that it produces. That is what Jesus taught in his parable of the fig tree.

The fruit of faith based organisations has been extraordinary – Mission Australia, Wesley Mission, Caritas, Anglicare, Baptist Care, our religious schools – the many Christian organisations involved in providing pastoral support in our schools – their funding through grants and other programmes and support through our tax system must continue to be about what they achieve, not what they consider to be the definition of marriage.

We need to ensure these protections are put in place.

It is now time to pass a truly inclusive Bill that recognises the views of 100% of Australians, not just the 61%, and I urge the House to not miss this opportunity.

CHURCH HAS LOST FAITH IN THE SUPERNATURAL

Great message from Francis Chan on what the church has lost and how we need to take it back from the enemy. Knowing what God promises is the key. Supernatural power is available when we are in God’s will. We need church like in the Book of Acts when Holy Spirit power was evident. Sharing possessions like the church in the Book of Acts. The church is one, like Jesus prayed to the Father for, so the world would believe.

CHRIST REVEALED – POWERFUL EVIDENCE TO STRENGTHEN YOUR FAITH

This is the first in a nine episode series on the evidence for Christ. You will be blessed, your faith strengthened and your ability to spread the Good News empowered. These videos will be a great tool to share your faith even to atheists. They will shed light into a dark world. Make sure you share them with others.

BY GOD’S GRACE WE ARE SAVED BY FAITH

Another great message from Torben, much needed in these “last days”. Bereans can see the prophesied great falling away occurring in the church. A church that no longer believes in the TRUTH of GOD’S WORD.
