A PHENOMENAL SURGE OF FAITH ON THE FIELD

The American college football season culminates next Monday night in Atlanta. It has seen a pervasive expression of faith in the Bible and God’s love and provision for the teams and players, win or lose.

It’s hard not to notice the extent of this phenomenon, coming as it does from so many of the most prominent members of the squads, especially the quarterbacks — and the coaches as well. Take Quinn Ewers of Texas. After his Longhorns lost a hard-fought battle against the Ohio State Buckeyes, now the top-rated team still standing, Ewers told the media, “What other people think of me won’t get me anywhere. … God has made me who I am, and that’s the reality of my whole situation. … I fully opened my heart to what Jesus and God were telling me instead of relying on my own understanding — but I just wanted to fully give myself to Him and fully allow His will to be done in my life.”

Ewers’s remarks were swiftly echoed by Longhorn wide receiver Jahdae Barron, who held up his hand to stall the adjournment of the postgame presser. “I just want to say one thing,” Barron said. “I just want everybody to know, you … sometimes don’t come out on top. … We won. We truly know who our leader is, and that’s God and Jesus Christ. And ultimately, just having the ability to use the gift that He gave us, to share to the world, it’s been amazing.” Barron went on to put the game in perspective and asked for thoughts for people dealing with the fires in California and the “chaos” in New Orleans where a terrorist attack took at least 14 lives and postponed the other semifinal bowl game.

That this would be a unique year in the recent annals of sport might have best been signaled by last August’s revival by Texas’s victorious opponent in the Cotton Bowl, Ohio State. The mammoth midwestern Big Ten school is not known for religious expression connected to its athletic programs, but then again, neither are those of most major colleges outside of denominational schools. Either way, the events at Ohio State were extraordinary and drew attention in the secular media. Led by a former football team captain, wide receiver Kamryn Babb, and a group of area churches, a gathering on the weekend before the season led to the baptism of 60 or more people, including prominent members of the football team like TreVeyon Henderson, J.T. Tuimoloau, and Emeka Egbuka. They and others gave their testimonies in front of a crowd estimated at 2,000 or more.

Babb commented on the event, “This encouragement that I’ll give the world is, and that we gave students on campus and from young to old is, to repent of your sins and believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, because it is the power to save men and women. He says that He gives those who believe in His name and believe in what He did on the cross the right to be children of God. To be able to give an invitation to so many hurting souls and so many people who are looking for hope and love is a blessing. It’s encouraging to be able to say you need to look nowhere other than God.

Buckeye head coach Ryan Day was moved to say, “But I think when you start to see and hear some of the messages that some of our team is giving, not only out in the community but to our own team on campus, those type of things, you just recognise what unbelievable guys we have in our locker room.”

Something deeper, however, is afoot, and it is more than the recent — and ongoing tragedies in America that seem to be inspiring it. The ESPN network endured some criticism after the Sugar Bowl game between Notre Dame and Penn State for not airing the national anthem and moment of silence before that event to remember the victims of the horrendous terrorist attack in the French Quarter. On the next night during the Cotton Bowl, ESPN made sure to stay onscreen as the crowd and national audience observed not only a moment of silence but heard a prayer offered by Fred McClure, the former head of the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association. McClure said:

“Loving father, we seek your blessings today for all those gathered here and especially for those on the field as we come together to celebrate the 89th Cotton Bowl Classic, we lift up the young men representing the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Texas Longhorns. Keep them safe from injury and harm. Instill within them a deep respect for one another and reward them for their perseverance.”

The prominence of prayer, meanwhile, has been newly obvious at Notre Dame as well, where the football program has approached but not reached the heights of a national championship since the 1988-89 season under Lou Holtz. The return has occurred on the watch of Marcus Freeman, who played linebacker at Ohio State and took over the Irish three years ago. The transformation occurred on the field as Freeman has amassed the most-ever wins for a Notre Dame head coach in his first three years at the school.

Off the field, Freeman restored the team’s pregame practice of attending Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on campus and marching across the main quad to Notre Dame stadium. Irish quarterback Riley Leonard reportedly leads a Bible study every Thursday night for fellow players. Attendance has grown. After the Sugar Bowl, Leonard answered a reporter’s question saying, “First of all, I just want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; without Him, I wouldn’t be here, we wouldn’t be here, that’s the whole group.

Whatever happens next Monday night, an amazing story of faith and conviction has occurred across the spectrum of college football in 2024-25. Pinpointing a beginning to this season of spiritual revival is impossible and hardly necessary, but one event does suggest itself to anyone who witnessed the occasion in person or on national television: the near-fatal injury to Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin during Monday Night Football in January 2023. Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest after a tackle. Fans of football on any level see many injuries, but this one was different from the start. The game, the players, the crowd, and the national audience came to a halt as every available resource was poured into saving Hamlin’s life on the field and then at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

We know the outcome now and Hamlin astonishingly has returned to the field of play. We know as well how the broadcasters for that game reacted to the drama playing out before them. For a time, our nation has gone through round after round of cynicism about our dependence on Almighty God for our lives and our every blessing. Prayer, much less public expressions of faith, have been downgraded, dismissed, and distrusted. The phrase “offering thoughts and prayers” then in common use has been subjected to ridicule. But on that frozen night on the Ohio River shoreline, the broadcast hosts at ESPN bowed their heads in fervent prayer for Hamlin. Where else could they and we turn?

Today, Hamlin devotes himself both to the Buffalo Bills and to charity work on behalf of youth sports, health, and safety. His story is known worldwide. Football remains the most dangerous sport from which players and their families can reap great rewards but also assume enormous risks. And all of it to win a crown of temporal fame that will be the prize of one team and one group of players, while the rest strive to the same goal in full knowledge that the trophy will belong to others. But in prayer, we can see it as so many of these collegiate champions do. Faith bids us to know that the true trophy is available to us all in chariots of fire that will carry us through our strivings toward a victory no one can take away.

GOD’S WORK DONE IN GOD’S WAY WILL NEVER LACK GOD’S SUPPLY

We often hear people say, ‘The end justifies the means.’ In other words, it’s okay to do something dishonourable, if necessary, in order to achieve something honourable. But that is not a biblical perspective. God is as concerned about the process as much as the product.

So they brought the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.
2 Samuel 6:17

Early in King David’s career, he learned this lesson the hard way. He was moving the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. But he failed to follow God’s instructions on how to transport the Ark. A man died as a result, and the Ark’s movement was delayed for three months. There is a lesson there: God cares about how we serve Him as much as He cares about what we accomplish. For example, not only are we to speak the truth, but we are also to speak the truth ‘in love’ (Ephesians 4:15). We are to defend the faith but with ‘gentleness and respect’ (1 Peter 3:15).

Do God’s work today—yes! But do it God’s way so He is free to bless and honour it.
God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply. Hudson Taylor

In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.Proverbs 3:6

Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. For the LORD loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever.Psalms 37:27-29

God tells us what is next on His agenda for this world. The rule of Satan and man on planet Earth is coming to an end. We are fast approaching the last seven years prior to Jesus’ return to this earth to establish His Millennial Kingdom about which we are given a lot of detail in God’s Word.

Check out http://www.millennialkingdom.net and Matthew Bryce Ervin’s book, One Thousand Years with Jesus The Coming Messianic Kingdom.

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be released for a little while. Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also, I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.” Revelation 20:1-6

GOD LOVES HIS CHILDREN TO BE THANKFUL

Our thankfulness glorifies God and makes Him joyful:

“The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!” Psalms 50:23

Puritan John Boys echoed the sentiment of the psalmist: “As the Lord loveth a cheerful giver, so likewise a cheerful thanksgiver.” But God isn’t the only one affected when we give thanks.

A. W. Tozer wrote, “Gratitude is an offering precious in the sight of God, and it is one that the poorest of us can make and be not poorer but richer for having made it.”

In Choosing Gratitude, Nancy Leigh DeMoss writes, “True gratitude, Christian gratitude, doesn’t exist in a vacuum; it has an Object.”

Psalm 138:1-8 How to Have a Thankful Heart

Check out Psalm 138:1-8 for reasons why you should have a thankful heart

God gives us hundreds of reasons to be grateful every hour— ask Him to make you aware of His gracious provisions surrounding you. The Holy Spirit will oblige. He is your counsellor and teacher. Developing the habit and discipline of gratitude results in greater praise to God and greater joy for ourselves.

When life’s tough, we can be grateful that God is with us in our suffering, that He’s using it for our good, and that He promises to end it once and for all.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good.1 Thessalonians 5:16-21

Randy Alcorn reported on this study in his article on Thankfulness on the Patheos blog: Psychologists asked undergraduates to complete a survey that included a happiness scale and measures of thankfulness. Over six weeks, the participants wrote down, once a week, five things they were grateful for. This practice had a dramatic effect on their happiness score. The study concluded, “Students who regularly expressed gratitude showed increases in well-being throughout the study.”

Likewise secular books on happiness document gratitude’s role in making people happier. But cultivating gratitude proves difficult for people whose worldview leaves them with nobody to thank! Yes, they can thank someone for loaning them a car or being their teacher. But whom can they thank for sunshine, air to breathe, the capacity to work, and enjoy pleasure? People who don’t believe that a sovereign God is at work through the kindness of others must thank their “lucky stars,” random circumstances, or—at best—other people. Since people are small when compared to God, the object of their gratitude is small, shrinking their capacity for happiness.

God’s common grace offers unbelievers a degree of happiness that’s greatly enhanced through thankfulness. As Christ-followers, however, we find gratitude multiplied when we return it to God, the ultimate and primary source of all goodness.

I suggest you keep a Holy Spirit journal (HSJ) as He is your counsellor, teacher, and comforter. He produces the fruit of the Spirit in your life (Galatians 5:22, all nine) and also provides the spiritual gifts for ministry (1 Corinthians 12:4-11, all nine). You might also want to keep a section of the HSJ to record daily, God’s evident goodness around you. You’ll find that in time, you’ll see more and more gifts from Him—not because there are more, but because you’re finally seeing what has been there all along.

God, we know from Biblical prophecies that Jesus second coming to earth, this time to restore righteousness is not too far distant but may we not wait until we see you, Lord Jesus, for our every breath to be filled with gratitude for your saving work on The Cross, the continuing work of the Holy Spirit in our lives along with every other gift you made it possible for the Father to provide. May our hearts overflow with gratitude each day!

GOD’S TIMING IS PERFECT

The Christian actor and executive producer, Kirk Cameron recently appeared on CBN’s “Faith vs. Culture,” where he spoke about “Lifemark,” a movie chronicling the true story of a teenage boy unexpectedly contacted by his birth mother, who gave him up for adoption 18 years earlier. The film debuts as a Fathom Event in theaters nationwide September 9-15.

Cameron described the movie from filmmaking duo Alex and Stephen Kendrick as the brothers’ “best one yet.” The “Growing Pains” star last worked with the Kendricks in 2008, when “Fireproof” hit theaters.

The timing of the debut of “Lifemark” is certainly noteworthy, I would suggest Kirk Cameron was God-led, given the pro-life film’s premiere is coming just a few months after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to overturn the precedent established in 1973 by its landmark case Roe v. Wade, granting nationwide legal cover to abortion access.

“This is a movie that’s coming out an unbelievably providential moment in history,” Cameron told CBN show co-hosts Dan Andros and Billy Hallowell. “Who would have thought that Roe v. Wade would be gone? Let’s say that again: Roe v. Wade is gone. Holy smokes! And now here’s a movie coming on the heels of that Supreme Court decision that celebrates the value of life in the womb and the beauty of adoption.”

Telling the story of “Lifemark,” which details the last-minute decision of an 18-year-old girl seconds away from abortion stopping the procedure to choose adoption instead, was personally important to Cameron because he and his wife have four adopted children themselves — two of whom have, like the character in the movie, met their birth mothers.

God is at work in believers’ lives. He will use you just as he is using Kirk Cameron just get in step with Him.

Listen to the many God stories that Kirk relates in this video. Moreover, they are in the upcoming film. Stories like this change people’s lives bringing them to a knowledge of God and His goodness.

SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2).

This Scripture tells us we need to let God’s Word and the Holy Spirit guide our thoughts and actions so that we can view the world through God’s eyes and live our life according to His principles. May this be true particularly in the area of our finances but may it be true in every area of our life.

Even the money we work hard to earn ultimately comes from God. “You may say to yourself, ‘My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.’ But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth” (Deuteronomy 8:17-18).

Knowing that it all belongs to God should convince us to welcome God into our financial lives! We have the opportunity to walk with God, even in this sector of life knowing that He will use it wisely and it will bear much fruit that will have eternal value.

We need not be concerned about provision for our family if we are truly seeking first the kingdom of God.

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ … your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:31-33)

God is the source of all good things—our provider. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17).

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalms 24:1).

How important it is during this time of testing that God has sent with Covid19 to hold to these truths of God. There is no doubt that if you have “all joy and peace in believing” people around you that are fearful will want what you have. Opportunities are opening up for me to talk about the scriptures particularly “end times” prophecies, as I have never had before, particularly with my non believing family members.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:7

The persecution that Christians are experiencing now will escalate in the years ahead. Scripture reveals Christians will be refined during the time of tribulation that precedes the Rapture but will also be used mightily by the Holy Spirit at this time. It is time to start living with an eternal focus knowing Jesus prophesied return is near.

What role will Jesus assign to you during His Millennial reign?

They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.Revelation 20:4-6

And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Revelation 20:7-10

The Second Resurrection and Judgment Before the Great White Throne

Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.Revelation 20:11

TIME TO BECOME ELIJAH’S

America has entered into the times of Baal, says Jonathan Cahn. His latest Prophetic Message is timely and challenging. However, it also demonstrates that God is totally in control as the events that have unfolded in America are exactly in line with a template assigned by God that has played out before in Israel’s history. The timing is mind blowing.

As Jonathan reveals in this video, Christians in America have entered a time when they will face the greatest challenges and the greatest darkness in their history. Survival as Bible believing Christians will be impossible unless we become like Elijah.

What prepared Elijah for what God had planned for him to do? It was in his isolation at Kerith Brook when he was being fed by ravens, sent by the hand of God. Camped in the wilderness, isolated from everyone, Elijah was totally dependent upon God and God alone to meet his every need. It was in his time of greatest fear and need, that God prepared Elijah for his later ministry.

Like Elijah and many of God’s heroes He had to strip them of everything that was important to them and take them to a place of utter brokenness. And like Elijah, there, in isolation by our Kerith Brook, he will carefully tend to our needs. In the most unreal ways, he will provide for us, feed us, clothe us. And, in the process, we will learn how much he loves us and that we can trust him.

It is in our seasons of hurt and isolation that he does an amazing work in us. But that amazing work in us is not for us alone. It is to prepare us for the amazing work God wants to do through us.

Your Kerith Brook might look quite different from Elijah’s. However, regardless of circumstances, God’s plan is the same: he wants to use this time of isolation, this time of pain and loss, to mold you into His image. He wants to meet your every need. He wants to prove that He is good, loving, faithful. He wants to show himself as the Great I am. He wants to build your faith so that you can eventually leave the Kerith Brook.

Then, when He sees that you are ready, He will use and lead you in ways you can not even imagine but for certain it will be to a place where His power and might can shine through you.

PARENTS DON’T RAISE “CHURCH KIDS”

Parents we need to raise kids that don’t just go to church on Sundays. We need to raise children that know the truth about the world, about the universe and know it can only be discovered in God’s Word – The Bible.

They need to know the Bible is inerrant. Down through the ages, God has told us through His prophets what would happen in the future. Hundreds of prophecies have been fulfilled exactly as prophesied, proof indeed the Bible is inerrant.

That the Bible provides an accurate history of God’s universe. That it not only tells us why, when and how God made it but it also tells us what went wrong and therefore why the universe and us are like we are.

That Jesus death on the cross has provided a way (the only way) back into an eternal relationship with our Heavenly Father.

That the Bible tells us the end of the story, which is good news for all that have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, and have been born again by the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, but it is incredibly bad news for all those that reject Jesus, God’s free gift of salvation.

That they would understand the extent of what Jesus sacrifice has provided. Our Heavenly Father has sent the Holy Spirit to indwell every believer, to be their counsellor, comforter, teacher, to produce the fruit of the spirit in their lives: love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self control and to provide all nine gifts of the spirit so we can be effective ambassadors for Christ in this world.

That they would wake up in the morning thankful for the day, and commit to following the Holy Spirit’s leading, so that they can lay their head down each night, confident that God’s will had been done and His Kingdom advanced and that they had not grieved the Holy Spirit nor quenched His work in their lives.

That they would face the storms of life knowing God’s presence and provision.

That they would reach for the stars because they know the One who created them has a purpose for their lives.

That they will look up when they fall down. Reach out when they need help trusting the indwelling Holy Spirit.

That they will be like oaks planted by His stream of living water and bear much fruit.

That they would love their neighbours fiercely as their Heavenly Father loves them.

That they would see hope when every one else sees hopelessness. That they would share that hope and bring His light into every dark corner.

NETANYAHU: TELL THE WORLD THE TRUTH

Netanyahu, tell the world the truth, “He took it from them and gave it to us.”

“Every Jew, and in fact, every Christian and Muslim, knows that the Land of Israel was promised to the Children of Israel, the Jewish People, by G-d, forever. The same G-d they claim to worship. The British pro-Zionists who worked to convince her majesty’s government to issue the Balfour Declaration in 1917, believed in the Divine Promise to the Jews. So, why continue to perpetuate this lie called the “Peace Process”? The Palestinians might gain some temporary control over the land – like in Gaza – for G-d’s own reasons, but in the end, it will be taken from them anyway and returned to its rightful tenants, the Jewish People – I didn’t say owners, because G-d is the only true owner of everything.”

It is true that a democratically elected government in Israel might choose, for political expediency, to transfer control over parts of the Jewish People’s homeland to others, like what happened in Gush Katif – Jewish Gaza; and that, in political terms, it might be seen as legitimate; but, in the Court of Final Justice, above, there never will be any spiritual legitimacy to the act. Anyone going against the will of G-d will ultimately have to account for their actions. Reward and punishment is a basic concept in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Heaven help those who try to take away the Divinely Promised Land from the Jewish People. Look what happened to Rabin, Sharon, Olmert, and countless others?

So, why lie to the Palestinians? Why make them believe they are right, that Israel “stole” their land? Why participate in a peace process? Why fool them into believing that Israel will give them land and a state?

Netanyahu is telling the world the truth. When Jesus returns, He will rule and reign in Jerusalem. For the first time, Israel will possess the whole land promised by God.

IF MY PEOPLE WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY

JESUS IS OUR EXAMPLE ON HOW TO PRAY AND BE HEARD.

“JESUS, who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His godly fear (reverence).” Hebrews 5:7

Are your prayers being answered? Are you praying with godly fear like Jesus, with vehement cries and tears like Jesus.

“If My people, who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Notice it is only IF we do theses things, and it is only CHRISTIANS – MY PEOPLE who can pray. It is when we HUMBLE ourselves and  TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS & SEEK HIS FACE only then He will hear from heaven and answer our prayers.

We cannot pray righteous prayers if we are committing unrighteous acts.

The process of restoration:

CONVICTION of sin by the Holy Spirit

CONFESSION of sin by us.

FORGIVENESS by God, through Christ’s blood by FAITH.

REPENTANCE is a conscious decision to turn around and sin no more.

RESTORATION of our relationship with God.

In order to be restored we need to move from CONFESSION to REPENTANCE. CONFESSION is not REPENTANCE.

WHY WE SHOULD FEAR GOD: 1. We should fear God because of WHO HE IS – Psalm 89:6-7, Jeremiah 10:6-7.      2. We should fear God for WHAT HE HAS DONE – Psalm 33:6-9. 3. We should fear God because of WHAT HE IS DOING – Psalm 66:5, Psalm 130:3-4, 1 John 1:9, 1 John 4:18

PROMISES FOR THOSE WHO FEAR GOD: 1. The promise of PROVISION – Psalm 34:9-10. 2. The promise of PROTECTION – Psalm 33:18-19. 3. The promise of PURITY – Psalm 103:12-13, 2 Corinthians 7:1. 4. The promise of BLESSING – Psalm 128:1-4. 5. The promise of PROLONGED DAYS – Proverbs 10:27.

Check out all of these Scriptures you will be blessed when you do.

LIVE ETERNAL NOW, you will be blessed when you do.

IS THIS PROPHECY FOR YOU?

Take a look at this prophecy by Jason Tanksley of Jason Tanksley Ministries, it resonated with me, I hope it also does with you.

Several days ago, while I (Jason) was studying the Word, the Holy Spirit arrested me on this verse. I knew He was speaking and wanted to tell me something, so I read it again.

“He was very thirsty, and he called out to the Lord, ‘You gave this great deliverance through Your servant, but now may I die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?’

“So God split open the basin at Lehi, and water flowed out of it. He drank, was refreshed, and revived. Because of this he called the place En Hakkore, which is in Lehi to this day” (Judges 15:18–19).

Three verses earlier, the Bible says that the Spirit of the Lord had come upon Samson, and he grabbed the jawbone of a donkey, striking down a thousand Philistines.

“You gave me this great deliverance … but now may I die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?” (Judg. 15:18).

Samson was weary after this intense battle, and now it seemed that a dehydrated death was his fate. He had no strength left, but he did have a prayer: “… he called out to the Lord …”

“So God split open the basin at Lehi, and water flowed out of it. He drank, was refreshed, and revived. Because of this, he called the place En Hakkore, which is in Lehi to this day” (Judg. 15:19).

A war-weary Samson called out to God in a moment of desperation, and God split open the very ground Samson stood on, causing refreshing water to flow!

En Hakkore means “the fountain of the crier,” or “the spring of one who prays.”

As I read this, my spirit leapt within me! I began to receive a word from the Lord that I must share! To the worn out, war-weary ones, those who have fought and maybe even seen great victory but now it looks like a dehydrated death in the dust is your portion, I am here to tell you, there is an En Hakkore for you.

I believe many are beginning to step into a realm of groundbreaking refreshing and revival. Your prayers have come up before the Lord, and He is answering with a well in a dry place—a spiritual En Hakkore, the fountain of the crier, the spring of one who prays!

The same Spirit of God that came upon Samson in verse 14, giving him supernatural strength and skill to slay a thousand Philistines, is the same Spirit of God that broke open the ground beneath him to bring refreshing at a time of certain demise.

The ground is breaking open beneath you.

This same Spirit of God that broke open the ground to release refreshing water is the same Holy Spirit that is causing tremors in the dry ground beneath you. These tremors are cracking open the dusty places, the dead soil and the parched earth to release waters of revival that will bring a supernatural restoration to you.

“So God split open the basin at Lehi, and water flowed out of it. He drank, was refreshed, and revived …” (Judges 15:19).

The dust is not your portion; the ground is breaking open, and I hear the Lord say, “Drink deep!” He did not bring you through the battle for you to die in the dust. He did not bring you this far to leave you in the hands of the adversary. I charge you to begin to decree En Hakkore to the dry areas. Prophesy over the dust and see God release a supernatural stream of restoration, refreshing and revival. This supernatural stream may be a filling of His Spirit that will invigorate you. For some it will be an unexpected stream of finances that will not just meet needs but exceed needs. For others, the glory of God will settle on you in an unprecedented way, bringing revival to the dry places.

In fact, I have already experienced this spiritual En Hakkore in my life since the Lord began to speak to me about it.

As we have just stepped into the second half of this year, I believe there are many who need refreshing to not just finish but to finish strong. God doesn’t want to just carry you through the remainder of this year; He wants you to ride a river of glory into 2018. God is releasing the stream. Now you must drink and drink deep.

The ground is breaking open; there is an En Hakkore for you!
