WHAT’S NEXT IN BIBLICAL END TIMES PROPHECY

Has Iran’s new leader triggered the ancient end times prophecies of Daniel? What comes next? In this urgent Nelson Walters video, he discusses the latest “Iran news” and gives an “Iran update” following recent events in the Middle East. He discusses potential candidates for Iran’s “Third King” of Dan 11 (Mojtaba Khamenei or Reza Pahvlavi) and for their “Fourth King.” He dives into the escalating “middle east tensions” and provides a “geopolitical analysis” of the “Iran strikes” and their connection to Daniel 8. This is crucial for understanding current “world news” through a “Bible study” lens.

There are almost two thousand prophecies of Jesus second coming to Earth and His coming Millennial Kingdom. God wants you to be prepared for what is next on His agenda for planet Earth. Satan has ruled for 6000 years now it is time for Jesus to rule for the final 1000 years, The nation God established for His purposes must fulfill its destiny, likewise the covenants God made with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David and the new covenant will be fulfilled. For more information on Jesus coming Millennial reign go to http://www.millennialkingdom.net.

New Covenant:

Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more. Jeremiah 31:31-34

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” Ezekiel 36:26-27

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second… In that He says, ‘A new covenant,’ He has made the first obsolete.” (Full quote of Jer. 31:31-34 follows) Hebrews 8:6-13

WHAT GOD IS DOING IN IRAN PART 1

This post follows my earlier post “What is God Doing in Iran?“. If you have not read it, I suggest you do so before reading this one. There is no doubt that God is converting Iranians supernaturally through dreams and visions and the movement is now widespread. I mentioned the following Scripture in the previous post as this  prophecy about Elam (Iran) in Jeremiah 49:34–39 is fairly unique. It foretells both judgment (the sword, dispersion, destruction of leadership) and restoration “in the latter days.” This is one of the few places where Elam specifically receives that kind of dual prophecy.

I will terrify Elam (Iran) before their enemies and before those who seek their life. I will bring disaster upon them, my fierce anger, declares the Lord. I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them, and I will set my throne in Elam and destroy their king and officials, declares the Lord. “But in the latter days I will restore the fortunes of Elam, declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 49:37-39

Jesus is appearing to many Iranians in visions and dreams resulting in many converts to Christianity. Reports have indeed circulated widely, especially from missionaries, Iranian Christian networks, and ministries that serve believers from Muslim backgrounds.

What’s known with reasonable confidence is this:

  • Christianity has grown rapidly in Iran over the past two decades — one of the fastest growth rates in the world, despite official restrictions and persecution.
  • Many Iranian converts—both inside Iran and in the diaspora—personally testify that their first awareness of Jesus came through a dream or vision.
  • These stories are hard to verify scientifically, but they are consistent across numerous independent testimonies, including from former Muslims who later joined underground churches.

From a theological standpoint:

  • Scripture records God sometimes revealing Himself through dreams and visions (e.g., to Daniel, Cornelius, and Paul).
  • Many Christians understand these modern experiences as ways God personally draws people in regions where the Gospel is suppressed and other means of hearing about Christ are restricted.
  • Others are more cautious, viewing such accounts as sincere experiences best tested against Scripture and the message of the Gospel itself.

In simple terms:
Yes — numerous reliable witnesses describe such encounters among Iranians, and the resulting conversions are widely documented. Whether one sees that as “Jesus personally appearing” or as God using visions to awaken faith, the movement toward Christianity in Iran is real, large, and ongoing.

Growth & Scale of the Underground Church

  • Estimates vary, but most credible sources place the number of Christian converts from Islam in Iran between 300,000 and 3 million. This movement is regarded as one of the fastest-growing in the Middle East. (buzzbeatmedia.com)
  • The U.S. State Department, academic studies, and the World Watch List provide more conservative figures:
  • Between 250,000 and 300,000 ethnic Christians remain in Iran, largely from recognized Armenian and Assyrian communities. (buzzbeatmedia.com)
  • Open Doors estimated about 800,000 Christians in total for 2026. (opendoors.org.au)
  • Iran Alive Ministries, an evangelical network, puts the number of Muslim-background believers around 2 million and suggests the real figure may be even higher. (mbcpathway.com)

2. Nature & Dynamics of the Movement

  • House churches are the core expression of the movement—small, unregistered gatherings that meet in private homes. These meet without legal protection and face relentless surveillance and risk. (buzzbeatmedia.com)
  • Digital evangelism plays a pivotal role. Converts often come to faith through satellite TV programsencrypted messaging apps, and online Bible studies—tools that offer relative safety and privacy. (terreneglobe.com)

3. Dreams & Visions: A Common Testimony

  • Numerous testimonies report Iranians encountering Jesus through dreams or visions—often described as deeply personal and transformative experiences. (aquinas.ac)
  • A survey referenced on social media notes that 25–27% of Muslim-to-Christian converts in the Middle East cite dreams or visions, with the figure rising to 40% in Iran. (x.com)

4. Persecution & Government Response

  • The Iranian regime views the movement as a serious threat, frequently prosecuting converts and targeting underground leaders. Arrests of Christians have increased dramatically—up sixfold between 2024 and 2025 in Tehran alone. (religionnews.com)
  • Despite the dangers, the underground church remains resilient, continuing to expand through digital discipleship tools, mentorship, and discreet gatherings. (transformiran.com)

Summary Table

TopicInsight
Scale of MovementEstimates range between 500,000 to 3 million believers, including converts
Form of ChurchPredominantly underground house churches and online platforms
Dreams & VisionsUp to 40% of Iranian converts cite visions of Jesus as catalyst
Government PersecutionLegal repression and arrests are increasing, yet the church persists

In short: While precise numbers are hard to verify, the evidence points to a significant movement of Persians discovering faith despite persecution. The prevalence of dreams and visions in these conversions echoes patterns seen throughout Scripture—miraculous, personal encounters that awaken faith where traditional evangelism struggles to penetrate. Hallelujah!

IRAN PUSHING WESTWARD, NORTHWARD, AND SOUTHWARD AS PROPHESIED

On August 24, 2022, IRINN (Iran) aired a report about the first-ever multibranch UAV exercise held by the Islamic Republic of Iran Army. The exercise involved 150 drones from four of the Army’s branches, and the report showed footage from the Army’s UAV Base 313, which houses over 100 drones. It also described the operations of the Kaman-12 and Kaman-22 reconnaissance drones, monitoring stations located in the Anark area, and the Omid suicide drone, which it compared to the Israeli-made Harop drone used by Azerbaijan. General Hamid Vahedi, the Commander of the Army’s Air Force, said that the drones are equipped with missiles and bombs produced by Iran’s Ministry of Defense. The following day, Channel 1 (Iran) also aired a report about the exercise. This report showcased the following drones: the Ababil-4; the Arash; the long-range Bavar-5 drone, which has classified capabilities; and the vertical-take-off Homa drone. The drones were being launched from the deck of the Lavan battleship in the northern Indian Ocean. In addition, the report showed the Chamroush and Zhubin drones being launched from a Fateh-class submarine, and it showed Karrar bomber drones being prepared for launch. Moreover, it showcased Omid drones and the Mohajer drones, which carry Almas and Ghaem missiles.

As I have reported many times before: on the “end times” prophecy timeline, the next prophesied events to unfold are given in Daniel 8. The first is the Ram (Iran) with its terror proxies including Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, Shi’ite militias in Syria and Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen doing exactly what was prophesied with Iran pushing westward, northward, and southward.

I (Daniel) saw the ram charging westward and northward and southward. No beast could stand before him, and there was no one who could rescue from his power. He did as he pleased and became great.Daniel 8:4

Watch for what is next on the prophecy “end times” timeline. It is the Goat (Turkey) taking down the Ram (Iran).

If you want more information on Iran’s role in “end times” prophecy can I suggest Mark Davidson’s book shown on the left.

PURIM STORY PLAYING OUT IN HISTORY AS PROPHESIED

Who could have predicted that 10 Nazi war criminals would face the same fate that awaited the Purim story’s villain and his 10 sons thousands of years earlier?

When we look toward Iran, a nation that occupies the same territory in which the Purim story occurred (Persia), we see the rise of a fanatical regime whose rhetoric rivals Israel’s most vicious enemies. Now more than ever, it is apparent that history repeats itself for those who refuse to learn its lessons.

The connections between Purim and the Holocaust are clear. At these two separate times in history, a dictator sought to destroy the Jews through mass annihilation.

Take a look at the fascinating parallels between the story of Purim and the Nazis 2,000 years later!

The current leadership of Persia is obsessed with eliminating Israel hence their resolve to develop nuclear weapons. All of this is revealed in Biblical prophecy and demonstrates we are in the last days before Jesus returns to this earth to rule and reign for 1000 years – Millennial Kingdom.

WHAT DID JESUS SAY ABOUT THE TIME OF HIS SECOND COMING?

“And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars…. (Middle East). For nation will rise up against nation and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated for My name’s sake” Matthew 24:5-9

The following report from Washington, 10th May 2019, reveals a further escalation of tensions in the Middle East that cannot end well. As explained in previous posts, Muslims worldwide are expecting the imminent return of their Messiah (Mahdi). Muslims believe that the Mahdi is the restorer who will come at the end of time to establish the reign of Justice and righteousness. Moreover, Iran’s leaders believe that they can prepare the way for the Shiite Muslims awaited Messiah with cataclysmic events directed at Israel and America (The Great Satan). Are we seeing this in play in our time?

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon approved the deployment of a Patriot missile defence battery and a Navy ship to the Middle East amid increasing tensions between the United States and Iran.

The USS Arlington and a Patriot battery will join the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group and a U.S. Air Force bomber task force, which were deployed earlier in the week to the region in response to “heightened Iranian readiness to conduct offensive operations.”

The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln transits the Indian Ocean.

The additional U.S. forces to the Middle East is the Trump administration’s latest effort to pressure Tehran over its support for weapons proliferation and extremist groups in the Middle East.

“The Department of Defence continues to closely monitor the activities of the Iranian regime, their military and proxies. On Wednesday, Trump ordered new sanctions placed on Iranian metals, Tehran’s largest non-petroleum-related sources of export revenue. The U.S. also took aim at Iranian oil by effectively ordering countries worldwide to stop buying Tehran’s oil or face sanctions of their own.

Additionally, the U.S. designated Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group. Iran responded with threats to close the Gulf’s Strait of Hormuz, where about a third of the world’s oil export vessels pass. The U.S. then announced it was expediting the deployment of a carrier strike group equipped with bomber aircraft to the region.

How wonderful it is to have God’s Word (The Bible) that reveals to us exactly what will unfold prior to Jesus second coming. Sadly, as prophesied, the world increasingly is rejecting God’s Word and His commands so cannot know the truth.

We are told in God’s Word that “where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty”. Liberty to do what? Liberty to do what I want, liberty to do what is wrong in God’s sight. No! It is a power to die for the truth. Do we trust God enough to face death gladly, if it His will for us at the time?
