DESPITE SATANICALLY INSPIRED HATE ISRAEL BLESSES ALL NATIONS

There is the scoreboard that cannot be contested, the disproportionately high number of Nobel Prizes Jews have won, and the incontrovertible fact that, despite their tiny numbers, Jews have risen to the top of just about every conceivable field of endeavour except those from which they were excluded. Jews have won more than 20 percent of all Nobel Prizes that have been awarded.

As New York Times columnist Bret Stephens noted, we inevitably are confronted with the following question: “How is it that a people who never amounted even to one-third of 1 percent of the world’s population contributed so seminally to so many of its most path breaking ideas and innovations?” God provides the answer.

God said, “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:2-3

But as Stephens soon discovered, in today’s “woke” world in which any discussion about the achievements of any group, but especially the Jews, is forbidden, to even ask such a question is to call down upon oneself an avalanche of abuse.

Rather than calling out as racists those who recognise the reality of a certain genius that Jewish civilisation has produced, it is those who find this notion insufferable who should be asked what it is about the reality of Jewish success that makes them so angry.

IRREFUTABLE PROOF ISRAEL IS GOD’S CREATION

Recently The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) made claims that the Jewish people had no historical claim to Jerusalem and yet the artefacts found in the City of David provide irrefutable proof of the Jewish People’s ties to Jerusalem, dating back over 3,000 years.

In 1867, British archaeologist Charles Warren was digging in the area around the Old City of Jerusalem. The Ottomans did not allow digging on Temple Mount, which turned out to be a wonderful thing for Warren, as it allowed him to discover the Ancient Biblical City of David.

The city was hidden for nearly 2,000 years, and Warren uncovered it, beginning a journey of 150 years of digging and discovery. New artefacts and archaeological sites are still being uncovered today, giving us insight into  Biblical Israel and Jerusalem. Until Warren’s discovery, people thought that ancient Jerusalem was limited to the confines of the Old City Walls. Warren’s discovery changed that misconception.

Fifty years later the 1917 Balfour Declaration giving the land of Israel back to the Jewish people,

Fifty years later the 1967 Six-Day War and the Jews take back control of Jerusalem.

Fifty years later the 2017 recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by President Donald Trump and America—the first such declaration issued by a major world power since ancient times.

God spoke to Moses: “Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet sound throughout the land. And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession , and each of you shall return to his family. That fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you ; in it you shall neither sew nor reap what grows of its own accord , nor gather the grapes of your untended vine. For it is the Jubilee; it shall be holy to you…

Basically, it was a time of release, when land was restored to its original owner, release of Hebrew servants, restoration of all inheritances.  Debt was released every Shemitah (every seven years). God understood fallen man so instituted His way of restoring things and giving people another chance in His nation. Notice all is built around the family. It is God’s basic building block for society. Is it any wonder it is under ferocious attack by Satan and his demons.

Will we reach 2067 before Jesus returns to rule and reign from Jerusalem I am not so sure? By 2067, Jesus may be ruling and reigning in Jerusalem with resurrected saints.

GOD HAS & WILL JUDGE NATIONS THAT DIVIDE ISRAEL’S LAND

Israel and Israel’s Land as a Means for Blessing the Earth

If one considers the Abrahamic covenant as a whole we do see a relationship of the covenant to land.

First, Israel was promised a particular land with certain dimensions (Gen. 12:6-7; 13:14-17; 15:18-21) as part of the Abrahamic covenant. “For all the land which you see, I give to you and your descendants forever. (Gen. 13:14-15) Fulfilment of the land promise is even reaffirmed hundreds of years later during times of national apostasy:

‘As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of the north and from all the countries where He had banished them.’ For I will restore them to their own land which I gave to their fathers ( Jer. 16:15).

Second, both Israel and Israel’s land will be used by God to bless all people groups of the world, not just with salvation but blessings to the whole earth (Gen. 12:2-3; 22:17-18; Isa. 2:2-4; Ps. 72:18-19;  Zech. 9:10). As Israel is blessed, ultimately through the Messiah, blessings will spill over to other nations and their lands. Isaiah 27:6 states: “In the days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will blossom and sprout, and they will fill the whole world with fruit.” Thus, Israel and Israel’s land function as microcosms of what God will do for all nations and their lands. As God blesses Israel, blessings will come to other nations (Isa. 19:15-25).

So it is theologically true that planet earth and the nations of the earth will be blessed. But it is through the means of Israel and Israel’s Messiah that this will occur. God has determined that particular blessings to Israel are the means for bringing blessings to the nations. The particular (Israel and Israel’s land) is the means for universal blessings (Gentile nations and their lands). This is a “both/and scenario,” not an “either or.”  The complete fulfilment of these universal land blessings awaits Israel’s salvation and the second coming of Jesus and His kingdom (Rom. 11:12, 15, 26-27; Matt. 19:28).

In the Scriptures, God specifically warns us that in the last days, He will judge the nations for dividing up His land. This is what Joel 3:1-2 says in the Modern English Version.

“In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. I will enter into judgement with them there regarding My people and My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.”

Those who bless Israel will be blessed, and those that curse Israel will be cursed.
