MANY CHRISTIANS WILL BE DECEIVED IN THE LAST DAYS

The deception will be so great in the last days that even the elect will be deceived. What will that deception look like?

“For false Christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.” Matthew 24:24

But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!” 2 Corinthians 11:3

Listen to John Bevere on GOOD OR GOD. We can expect the False Prophet and the Antichrist to present what looks GOOD, particularly peace, and hence Jesus said, even the elect will be deceived.

  1. Thank you for this message! I need to send out a WARNING regarding Bill Johnson, (and) happenings at Bethel. His theology is not sound and Bethel’s influence is global. In his book, (When Heaven Invades Earth) he writes that God “wants to take us further and we can only get there through by following signs. Our present understanding of scripture can only take us so far.” He encourages Christians to stop focusing on “our need to protect ourselves from deception” and instead “our hunger for Him must be seen in our lustful pursuit of spiritual gifts.” He criticizes the church for “living according to an intellectual approach to the scriptures void of the Holy Spirit’s influence” which leads to “a false sense of security.” Instead we are told “to follow Him, we must be willing to follow off the map- to go beyond what we know.” He also writes that, “He performed miracles, wonders and signs, as a man in right relationship to God…not as God.”

According to Johnson, the church has failed the world because we have not given them adequate signs and wonders. (Article: At What price Awakening? Examining the theology and practice of the Bethel movement)

Video (Bringing Heaven to Earth April,11,2015): Johnson said that, “Jesus was so emptied of divine capacity, eternally God, but that He chose to live with restrictions of man. Why?… if He did all His miracles as God I’m still impressed but I’m not compelled to follow…But when I find out that He set aside divinity and chose to display what life would be like for anyone who had no sin and was completely empowered by the spirit of God, He modelled something that is made available…”

Johnson said that “Jesus had to be born again.” (multiple places this statement of his can be found online).
That, “Jesus laid aside His divinity as He sought to fulfil the assignment given to Him by the Father. “Emptied Himself” while on earth. (Reference: Wayne Grudem, systematic Theology 550)

Johnson doesn’t use the whole bible in His teachings and also says in regards to the bible that there are superior truths and inferior truths.

Bethel’s school (BSSM) has every year, about 1400 first year students, 1400 second year students and about 1000 third year students going through. The video’s online I have seen of the students are of concern with “drunk in the spirit” episodes that I don’t believe is the Holy Spirit at work, with “grave soaking/sucking”,and 3rd year students going to a physic fair and purposely using “the spirit of creation” instead of using Jesus, God or Holy Spirit when giving their “spiritual readings, dream interpretations etc…” (See article: “Are you more religious than Jesus? From Bethel’s BSSM website). I am not blaming Bethel for their students actions however, maybe they have too many students that they can’t properly care for, steward them properly. Is the financial benefit taking the lead over stewardship?

I have also been hearing stories of families who have not had any contact with their children since they have gone to this school or if they have, they’re not alone with them as someone from the school is with them. One family has had zero contact with their daughter for 4 years now. One mother said that the SOZO counselling Bethel has played a role in her daughter cutting off all communication with them. Something isn’t right here.

I have always loved Bethel’s music and books. I wasn’t even looking for this stuff and stubbled upon one video which led me to investigate more. I hope I am wrong. Please don’t take anyone’s “word for it” and look into it yourself if you want. Bill Johnson’s theology alone is concerning too me and as the bible says in Gal 5:9, “A little bit of yeast works through the whole batch of dough.” Another question to ask ourselves is, should we still sing their songs in our churches? That’s something to pray about. For me, if this is all true, Matthew 7:15-20 warns about false prophets and that no bad tree can produce good fruit. Please pray about this and look into this yourself. It’s important to be awake and aware. Jesus, help us please. May God bless you!
