Please make sure this video gets wide circulation amongst young people. They will realise the current hysteria about climate change is totally unwarranted.
President Trump has just called for a Day of Prayer in the nation this coming Sunday, March 15. This is an acknowledgement that the issues the USA face including the corona virus requires something more than the best thinking from key people; he recognises they clearly also need the blessing of the Living God. The full Proclamation is shown below.
May this special National Day of Prayer lead to a call for national repentance. Here and in every nation. The Lord is waiting to help. The Lord will hear the righteous! When we humble ourselves and turn from our ways to follow His Way, the Lord delivers us.

PROCLAMATION BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
In our times of greatest need, Americans have always turned to prayer to help guide us through trials and periods of uncertainty. As we continue to face the unique challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, millions of Americans are unable to gather in their churches, temples, synagogues, mosques, and other houses of worship. But in this time we must not cease asking God for added wisdom, comfort, and strength, and we must especially pray for those who have suffered harm or who have lost loved ones. I ask you to join me in a day of prayer for all people who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic and to pray for God’s healing hand to be placed on the people of our Nation.
As your President, I ask you to pray for the health and well-being of your fellow Americans and to remember that no problem is too big for God to handle. We should all take to heart the holy words found in 1 Peter 5:7: “Casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you.” Let us pray that all those affected by the virus will feel the presence of our Lord’s protection and love during this time. With God’s help, we will overcome this threat.
On Friday, I declared a national emergency and took other bold actions to help deploy the full power of the Federal Government to assist with efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic. I now encourage all Americans to pray for those on the front lines of the response, especially our Nation’s outstanding medical professionals and public health officials who are working tirelessly to protect all of us from the coronavirus and treat patients who are infected; all of our courageous first responders, National Guard, and dedicated individuals who are working to ensure the health and safety of our communities; and our Federal, State, and local leaders. We are confident that He will provide them with the wisdom they need to make difficult decisions and take decisive actions to protect Americans all across the country. As we come to our Father in prayer, we remember the words found in Psalm 91: “He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
As we unite in prayer, we are reminded that there is no burden too heavy for God to lift or for this country to bear with His help. Luke 1:37 promises that “For with God nothing shall be impossible,” and those words are just as true today as they have ever been. As one Nation under God, we are greater than the hardships we face, and through prayer and acts of compassion and love, we will rise to this challenge and emerge stronger and more united than ever before. May God bless each of you, and may God bless the United States of America.

The evidence for the resurrection of Jesus is overwhelming and there have been many great books testifying to its truth. An excellent book is the one shown here. For me, these facts make Jesus resurrection incontrovertible:
1. Twelve nobodies (fishermen in the main) were able to establish in their lifetime a church that could withstand immense persecution.
2. The disciples were willing to lay down their lives for Jesus and The Gospel.
“People ask, ‘Why should I believe it?’ Well, this book is going to tell you why you should believe it. I’ve said it for many years: You don’t die for a lie. If the disciples made up the idea that He rose and concocted it, then why did they die for it later on?

Ask our Heavenly Father for opportunities to share the good news of Jesus this Easter. He will answer that prayer.

The US educational system has replaced the teaching of American history with anti-American propaganda, a trend in the universities that has trickled down into high schools and elementary schools. Some schools ignore history and civics altogether, leaving students ignorant of their Christian heritage and thus susceptible to the propagandists. In addition, the teaching of evolution and not creation/intelligent design has resulted in this generation turning away from God and His values. He is no longer relevant. However, Satan’s original deception of Eve is still relevant :
“Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5
The first statement was certainly a lie and the second equally disastrous; believing she can be like God.
The VOC poll (Voice of the Customer Survey). . . found that only 57 percent of millennial’s believe the Declaration of Independence “better guarantees freedom and equality” than the Communist Manifesto. . . .
It is the reason Bernie Sanders with his socialist agenda is so popular with this generation.
Executive editor of the Federalist (and LCMS member) Joy Pullman suggests that as this generation that loved their country through World War II and the Baby Boomers who lived through the Cold War die out, the proportion of Americans who disapprove of their own country and what it stands for will increase. At some point, the nation might become so delegitimatised in the eyes of its citizens that it dissolves. This is what happened to the Soviet Union. A new nation would be established in its place, with the Constitution being repealed and a different kind of government devised to replace it. Since free, democratic republics are rare in human history, the new American order would probably be a reversion to some kind of authoritarianism or totalitarianism.
For Christians Jesus end times prophecies are beginning to unfold:
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” Matthew 24:9-13
I don’t often recommend books but this one is a must read for those interested in knowing what the Bible says about the end times. It will be a particularly valuable read for those that have been disappointed by end times authors that have proven to be misleading, if not totally wrong. Travis Snow covers a lot of ground in his book which will give you a solid eschatological foundation and encourage you to personally delve further yourself into the Scriptures, which is always profitable.
As a result of my previous post with the same title, I received the following information from a friend in Brazil, Dr Eber Stevao DDS, PhD. I met Eber at an International Christian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) Conference in Israel. It contains a lot of useful information so I thought I would pass it on.
The entire Bible contains 31,103 verses. If we just take verses which talk about prophetic things in general, they come out to 8,352 verses or 26.85% of the Bible. Of all those 8,352 verses, a total of 6,312 (75.57%) have already been fulfilled. Evidence enough to prove the Bible is inspired by God and inerrant. It also means there are only 2,040 verses or 24.43% of those 8,352 verses yet to be fulfilled and we can expect they will be fulfilled exactly as prophesied. So, from the entire Bible, there are only 6.55% of prophetic verses awaiting for God´s appointed time for their completion and they need to be used to reach non believers with the Gospel of Christ and wake up a sleeping church.
For anyone interested in end times bible prophecy, Eber recommends the works of Dr. John Barton Payne. “He was a professor at the Covenant Theological Seminary, and spent his whole life (57 years, short but very productive life) to only study Bible prophecy. He ended up writing these books which are fundamentals to anyone who is interested in learning more about Bible prophecy: “The Unity of Isaiah: Evidence From Chapters 36-39” (1963), “Biblical Prophecy for Today” (1978),”The Goal Of Daniel’s Seventy Weeks” (1978), “Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy” (1980), “Theology of The Older Testament” (1980), “The Expositor´s Bible Commentary” (several editions), and “The Imminent Appearance of Christ” (2011), among dozens of others about Bible Prophecy. He separated all Bible prophetic verses categorising them about those related to Israel, Church, Anti-Christ, Christ return, etc. . All his writings can be found at the *PCA Historical Center, St. Louis, Missouri under J. Barton Payne Manuscript Collection. Collection #024 and Box #248.
Payne said that out of those 2,040 verses, these all come together to predict 215 facets about Christ return to the earth. Those 215 are specific predictions from God about the end of the world. All those events are now in the process of being fulfilled. Just look at the news today. Inside of those 2,040 verses (6.55% of Bible) we can find descriptions about these events which are coming: The Tribulation, The Rapture and Second Coming of Christ, The Day of God´s Wrath, The Judgement Seat of Christ, The Millennium, The Great White Throne. God warned us that these events will happen so we better be prepared for them.

There is arguably more about the glorious return of Jesus in our Bibles than there is about His earthly ministry from 27-30 AD. Moreover, many people are surprised to learn that the Bible is made up of roughly 27% prophecy, the large majority of which have not yet been fulfilled.
For this reason, it is not even possible to understand large portions of Scripture until we begin to seriously engage with the topics related to eschatology. If we claim to be Bible-loving believers, we should view Biblical prophecies, even if they are about still future events, as a critical part of the message God wants to communicate to us today. Even more important the second coming of Jesus is a central part of the Gospel message. It is not complete unless it includes the triumphant end of the story with Jesus ruling and reigning this earth in Jerusalem.. The more we understand Bible prophecy the more equipped we are to effectively share the Gospel with others. Good Biblical eschatology should always deepen our faith in Jesus, fortify our resolve to obey Him, and create a greater longing in our hearts for His kingdom.
Dr Douglas Hamp has a special guest Alan Kurschner on his programme, The Awakening Report to discuss reasons why a Prewrath Rapture best fits Scripture and all of the problems with PreTrib and MidTrib rapture positions. Most of you know I support Alan’s PreWrath view of The Rapture of Christians prior to Jesus return to rule and reign from Jerusalem in the Millennium. Douglas Hamp has realised the PreTrib position is not Biblically tenable but is yet to decide on PreWrath versus Post Trib positions. I am confident that you will find this video instructive as did Douglas. He intends to have Alan back on his programme at some future date.
There is physical order in the cosmos; there is also social order, and spiritual order. In the beginning, Genesis teaches us, God not only made matter, he made order. In creating the cosmos ex nihilo, He ordered it–that is, He gave it form, structure, coherence, beauty and symmetry.
Order is not incidental to Christian doctrine; order is central. God is the maker and ruler of all things; the creation is distinct from him, yet exists by the super-sustenance of his Son (Colossians 1:17); the world in which we dwell is not characterized in fundamental terms by randomness and disorder, but by divine design.
All this matters greatly for our understanding of men and women, those who are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27). The man is created first in the Old Testament, and possesses what the New Testament will call headship over his wife. Adam is constituted the leader of his home; he is given authority in it, authority that is shaped in a Christlike way as the biblical story unfolds. According to the apostle Paul, a godly husband does not lord his role over his wife, but rather sees his headship in cruciform terms. He dies to himself over and over in order to love his wife and children well (Ephesians 5:22-33). This does not mean that he fails to exercise actual on-the-ground leadership or make decisions; it means that he constantly seeks to shepherd his wife and family so that they will flourish in Christ. On the basis of a man’s domestic leadership, men are called to provide spiritual leadership and protection of the church (1 Timothy 2:9-15). Elders preach, teach, and shepherd the flock of God; only men are called to the office of elder, and only men who excel as heads of their wives and children are to be considered as possible candidates for eldership (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).
It is right for men to lead their homes, and put their lives on the line when their family members are endangered, and work hard to be the financial pillar of their loved ones. It is right for women to be distinctively feminine, bear and raise children as God allows, submit to and support their husbands per 1 Peter 3, and serve their churches in ways that use their gifts. Living out these realities is good and glorious, and shows us the beauty of the Christian worldview over against secular conceptions of the sexes.
The teaching of evolution in our schools and universities as fact has totally undermined the Biblical view of the history of our planet. A planet created by a loving God, initially perfect, without sin and death. It had the potential for sin and death but only if man disobeyed God. Sadly, Adam and Eve who were made in the image of God were deceived by Satan, a created angelic being that had already rebelled against our Creator God. Satan had wanted to be God. He convinced Eve that she could be like God, knowing good and evil, if she ate of the fruit God had commanded Adam not to eat on pain of death. As a result, God banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden so they could no longer eat of the Tree of Life and live forever.
Only from the Bible do we know that the origin of sin, pain, suffering and death in the world is a result of man’s disobedience. Fortunately, it reveals a loving God has provided a way back into a right relationship with Him. The penalty for our disobedience was death and it has been paid for by God’s own son, the second person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ. If we repent, are baptised (die to self, alive in Christ) God the Father sends the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, to indwell every believer, to do what we can’t do for ourselves, He will start the sanctification process to make us like Christ. As we allow Him to direct our will, He produces the fruit of the Spirit in our lives; love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, gentleness, goodness, kindness and self control. He also provides the gifts of the spirit for ministry to believers and unbelievers.
God’s Word, The Bible, reveals the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end of the story for this world. Its many prophecies reveal the future of nations, particularly the nation God established for His purposes, Israel. It reveals the time we are in right now, with a great falling away from God and Biblical truth (apostasy), a time of tribulation for Christians leading up to even great tribulation before Jesus returns to conquer the nations and rule and reign for one thousand years from Jerusalem.
This story provides an important lesson in the what we do with prophetic messages, regardless of who gives them, particularly when they relate to God’s call on your life.
Twenty-three-year-old George Whitefield sat on a ship ready to sail for America from the port of Deal, located approximately 70 miles southeast of London. For some time, he had experienced a compelling call to preach the gospel to colonial America and now the day for his departure had finally arrived. His heart was filled with gratitude, excitement and expectation.
As he waited for the ship’s crew to hoist anchor and sail, a letter was delivered to him from John Wesley who had just returned from a failed mission to Georgia. He opened the letter and was stunned by what he read. Wesley wrote that when he saw that the same wind that brought him in was taking Whitefield out, he inquired of the Lord about Whitefield’s journey. Wesley emphatically stated that the word God gave him for Whitefield was, “Let him return to London.”
Whitefield was shocked and momentarily confused. Wesley was 10 years his senior and had been a mentor to him. He held the Wesley brothers, John and Charles, in very high esteem. However, this word from John contradicted everything he believed about his call to America.
Whitefield went to prayer, and as he prayed, there came to his mind a story from the Old Testament about a “man of God” who lost his life because he listened to the words of an “old prophet” instead of diligently adhering to what God had instructed him.
I Kings 13 tells this story of the unnamed “man of God” whom God instructed to go to Bethel and prophesy against the idolatrous altars that had been established there by King Jeroboam. God also instructed him not to stop to eat or drink but to return directly home to Judah when he had completed his assignment.
Based on this directive from the Lord, he went to Bethel. As he prophesied against the idolatrous altars, they miraculously split apart, and the ashes were poured out on the ground. As he departed Bethel according to the Lord’s instructions, an “old prophet,” who heard of what had happened, saddled his donkey, caught up with the “man of God” and invited him to his home to eat and drink.
When the “man of God” recounted to the “old prophet” what the Lord had instructed him, the “old prophet” said, “‘I am a prophet like you, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘Bring him back with you into your house so that he may eat bread and drink water'” (1 Kings 13:18). The “old prophet,” however, was lying.
The “man of God” went back with the “old prophet” in contradiction to the instructions the Lord had given him; and as a result of his disobedience, he lost his life and was not buried in the burial ground of his ancestors.
With this story so vividly impressed on his mind, Whitefield knew what he must do. He sent back a reply to Wesley in which he said, “I cannot return to London.” Whitefield said no to Wesley’s “thus saith the Lord.”
History has demonstrated that Whitefield made the correct decision, for he became the major figure in the Great Awakening that rocked Colonial America and prepared her for statehood. Everywhere he went, great revival followed his preaching.
Because of God’s blessing on his labors, he became the most recognizable person in colonial America and Thomas S. Kidd, who teaches history at Baylor University, calls him “America’s Spiritual Founding Father.”
We can all be thankful that Whitefield said no to Wesley’s “thus saith the Lord.”
