THE IMPACT OF AI & ROBOTICS ON JOBS

Amazon, the online retailer behemoth, is the second-largest private employer in the U.S. – 1.5 million people. It’s also one of the largest investors in AI. It’s building out fully autonomous warehouses… It’s working to automate the delivery process with self-driving vans and delivery drones… and 30% of its “workforce” are already robots.

Robots don’t sleep. They don’t take vacations. They never need a break. So, let me ask you this: How much longer until Amazon decides these robots are ready to take on the full workload of its 1.5 million remaining workers? And what do you think will happen when 1.5 million hardworking Americans are suddenly out of a job?

Amazon is far from the only giant that has done this. Walmart Inc. (WMT), the largest private employer in the U.S., is rolling out fully automated distribution centers using a combination of AI and robots. The company’s distribution centers come with one big catch: No people.

Finding good critical thinkers is one of the most difficult things in business. I’m talking about “knowledge workers” – i.e., accountants, business strategists, lawyers, and doctors – who make optimal decisions, are good at problem-solving, can strategize, and always act in the business’s best interests.

The only thing more difficult than finding one good knowledge worker… is finding multiple. For most of the modern era, knowledge work was difficult to scale. These professions typically require years of education, on-the-job training, and experience. That adds up to lots of time and money.

But now, ChatGPT and other forms of AI are killing that paradigm. It makes it so that businesses can scale critical thinking and knowledge work. It doesn’t matter if you have a blue or white collar: AI could threaten your job.

The Quantum Leap

AI is more of a threat now than it was when ChatGPT made its debut in 2022 because of quantum computing.

In classical computing, data is encoded in binary bits. Transistors are like tiny switches that can either be in the on or off position – represented by ones and zeroes.

Every app you use, website you go to, and photo you take is made up of millions of combinations of ones and zeroes. However, a new kind of computing power surpasses the binary limitations of classical computers.

Quantum computers use quantum bits, or qubits, which can represent both 0 and 1 simultaneously due to a concept called superposition. If this all sounds a little confusing, don’t worry. Here’s the critical thing you need to know… Quantum computers allow for multiple computational pathways to be explored at the same time, opening new avenues and speeds for solving complex problems.

Imagine you have a large library and you’re trying to find a specific book. In classical computing, you would search for the book by examining each bookshelf and book one at a time until you find the right one. This approach can be time-consuming, especially if the book you’re looking for is in the back of the library. But imagine a computer so powerful it can explore all the books at once… That’s quantum computing.

It’s been said that the differences between quantum computers and classical computers are even more vast than those between classical computers and pen and paper. That may be an understatement.

We’re talking about machines so advanced that they can instantly execute calculations that would take the world’s most advanced supercomputers nearly half a century to process. It’s not like the transition from the horse and buggy to the automobile. It’s more like horse and buggy to the SR-71 Blackbird… the fastest jet ever made. The difference is utterly mind-blowing.

Quantum computing is real and it’s here. You can think of it as the turbocharger for artificial intelligence. It makes AI faster, more efficient, and more precise.

Quantum computing will give us the ability to solve intractable problems that take so long to tackle using today’s computers that no one even bothers trying. We’re talking about the ability to create, replicate, and commercialize complex analytical thinking and precise physical movement on a scale never seen before… This is the next huge leap forward for the digital elite… the people who have been getting rich while most Americans have been getting left behind.

With quantum computing, the digital elite will have AI that is not constrained by computational speed. Quantum-powered AI will drive efficiencies by getting rid of human workers and driving up corporate profits. No matter the job, robots, software and AI – powered by a new breed of computer – will be able to do it better and cheaper.

I expect that in the quantum era, we will see more technological progress in one month than we are seeing in three years from now. This is the societal and economic equivalent of a 10,000-foot mega-tsunami. It’s about to slam into our world and alter the trajectory of our country forever.

Governments that already have a debt problem that is out of control will be unable to address this unemployment problem and anarchy and lawlessness will be the outcome. The scene is being set for the Biblical prophesied rise of the Antichrist and a one-world government. The recent UN Pact for the Future where world leaders made a landmark declaration pledging concrete actions towards a safer, more peaceful, sustainable, and inclusive world for tomorrow’s generations is a significant move towards a one-world government. My next post will give more detail on the Pact for the Future.

‘MEN HAVE FORGOTTEN GOD; THAT’S WHY ALL THIS HAS HAPPENED’

In 1983 Solzhenitsyn said, “If I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible the main cause of the ruinous revolution that swallowed up some 60 million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: ‘Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.’

Marxist ideology places no moral constraints on those in power. All those regarded by the ideology as ‘reactionary’ could be arrested, sent to labour camps and worked to death. Families were separated.

There was no recourse to ‘justice’. Anyone judged to be an ‘enemy of the revolution’ was, effectively, dehumanised, but that category was infinitely expandable. One suspect conversation or joke might condemn you. Children were encouraged to inform on their parents. One of the ‘heroes’ of the Soviet Union was Pavlik Morozov, who allegedly informed on his father to the Party in 1932. His father was sent to a work camp and then executed. Pavlik was, in turn, murdered (under disputed circumstances). Four members of the family were accused of his death, rounded up, and shot. A statue was erected in Pavlik’s honour. Children were taken to the statue and shown Pavlik as a hero of the Revolution because he had informed on his father and they must do likewise if necessary for the sake of the Party.

We are in the same situation today but for different reasons. During the twentieth century, first universities, then all the institutions of Western society, were invaded by the ‘virus’ of radical doubt built upon the theory of evolution that argues the Cosmos derived from the Big Bang. Critical theory hijacked certainty about everything. This theory was built on a lie. It began with the false premise that there is no transcendent reality – no Creator God. From that, they concluded that the world of perception is a product of human activity. We make our own reality. According to critical theory, all hierarchies are oppressive. The world is descending into chaos as a result and Christians will experience tribulation even great tribulation just as Biblical prophecy said they would prior to Jesus’ return to first rapture the Saints, pour out His wrath upon unrepentant earth, and then return to earth with glorified Saints to defeat the Antichrist’s army and begin His 1000-year reign on this earth.

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:7-14

Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years. Revelation 20:6

ARE YOU PREPARED FOR WHAT IS ABOUT TO UNFOLD?

Satan has successfully deceived the world into believing that God did not judge the world with a worldwide flood just 4000 years ago now. He certainly does not want people to know that God will pour out His wrath again on a lawless unrepentant world in the not too distant future and yet that is exactly what God reveals will happen in His Word, the Bible.

The Judeo-Christian ethos, based on God’s absolutes which formed the basis of most Western nations, is fast being supplanted by a secularistic, humanistic, arrogantly arbitrary philosophy. This worldview is spreading rapidly. The legal system is a prominent perpetrator of it. The courts are dangerous because they pontificate arbitrarily on what they personally consider to be “good” for society, yet they demand – and aggressively enforce – absolute allegiance to their arbitrary decrees. But what did we expect? The humanistic, secularistic thinkers have merely carried their philosophy to its logical end. They have remained true to their worldview in both words and actions while, unfortunately, Christians have equivocated. They simply have not taken the Lordship of Christ seriously. Instead, Christians have largely shut up their spirituality into a small corner of life, Sunday church, or their Bible studies instead of realising that the Lordship of Christ is to permeate the whole spectrum of life. They have coasted along complacently, often serving up such dogmas as “you can’t mix religion and politics,” or “you can’t legislate morality,” or “we just need to pray and witness to people” – when what they really meant was we just don’t want to be disturbed.” They are content in their “comfort zone.”

Christians are now paying for their negligence. We have permitted the dominance of a philosophy that sanctions the killing of an unborn child for the mother’s convenience. A philosophy that can talk of euthanasia of the aged and a general devaluation of all human life. A philosophy that has euphemised wrong and self-destructive sexuality into “alternative lifestyles.” A philosophy that drives its proponents to unashamedly seek the banishment of all religious influence from the stream of public life, leaving a totally relativistic value system and law. This secularistic worldview has engulfed every area of society that Christians have chosen to ignore – the government, the courts, education, the media. And it is now threatening the areas that Christians naively took for granted as being beyond its reach: the family, the Christian school, and the church. More and more the state is opening the door to restrict the free exercise of our faith through increased regulation. Christians largely sleep on, as it unfolds.

Jesus told us that what we see unfolding in our day is exactly what it will be like before He returns. It will be like it was during the days of Noah, lawlessness will abound. Moreover, He warns us that intense tribulation is coming.

Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.Matthew 24:9-14

You should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. 2 Peter 3:2-6

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Luke 17:26-27

And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will He delay long over them? I tell you, He will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Luke 17:8-9

AMERICA WAS NEVER GREAT!

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is CleanEnergyMarch-4-1470229_28258535300.jpg

The US educational system has replaced the teaching of American history with anti-American propaganda, a trend in the universities that has trickled down into high schools and elementary schools. Some schools ignore history and civics altogether, leaving students ignorant of their Christian heritage and thus susceptible to the propagandists. In addition, the teaching of evolution and not creation/intelligent design has resulted in this generation turning away from God and His values. He is no longer relevant. However, Satan’s original deception of Eve is still relevant :

“Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5

The first statement was certainly a lie and the second equally disastrous; believing she can be like God.

The VOC poll (Voice of the Customer Survey). . . found that only 57 percent of millennial’s believe the Declaration of Independence “better guarantees freedom and equality” than the Communist Manifesto. . . .

It is the reason Bernie Sanders with his socialist agenda is so popular with this generation.

Executive editor of the Federalist (and LCMS member) Joy Pullman suggests that as this generation that loved their country through World War II and the Baby Boomers who lived through the Cold War die out, the proportion of Americans who disapprove of their own country and what it stands for will increase.  At some point, the nation might become so delegitimatised in the eyes of its citizens that it dissolves.  This is what happened to the Soviet Union.  A new nation would be established in its place, with the Constitution being repealed and a different kind of government devised to replace it.  Since free, democratic republics are rare in human history, the new American order would probably be a reversion to some kind of authoritarianism or totalitarianism.

For Christians Jesus end times prophecies are beginning to unfold:

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” Matthew 24:9-13

A WORLD IN CRISIS : BANKRUPT GOVERNMENTS PROMISING THE IMPOSSIBLE

Everyone needs to read the article “Energy Solution Hinges on New Technology” which appeared in The Weekend Australian, Saturday June 15th 2019 by Dr Bjorn Lomborg, president of the think tank Copenhagen Consensus Centre. He has been named one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world. I have reproduced it below in an amended form.

The reality is, today, solar and wind energy together deliver only about 1 per cent of global energy. The International Energy Agency estimates that even by 2040 these will cover a little more than 4 per cent of global energy.

The idea that we already have the needed technology to phase out quickly from fossil fuels is nonsense, so before we can establish what the solution to climate change really looks like, we first need to dismantle the faulty idea that we have the solution already.

One of the world’s leading energy researchers, Czech-Canadian Vaclav Smil, has said:

The great hope for a quick and sweeping transition to renewable energy is wishful thinking.”

Former US vice-president Al Gore’s chief scientific adviser, Jim Hansen, who put global warming on the agenda back in 1988, agreed, saying:

Suggesting that renewable’s will let us phase rapidly off fossil fuels in the United States, China, India, or the world as a whole is almost the equivalent of believing in the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy.”

The recent “hoo-ha” or “brouhaha” by climate change activists, involving thousands of children skipping school to be involved in street protests in Australia, over the Adani Coal Mine, demonstrates that the belief that we already have the solutions is a delusion on a planetary scale. It may be comforting to tell ourselves that global warming is effectively solved. It’s dangerous because it leads to us taking at face value promises and vows that have no chance of being enacted. And it is reckless because it stops us from focusing on what we need to do instead.

If we do care to fix climate, we need to change course. This was clearly shown by 27 of the world’s top climate economists and three Nobel laureates who looked at the whole gamut of climate solutions for Copenhagen Consensus.

If we keep doing what we’ve done so far and make more promises to cut carbon in ineffective ways such as subsidising wind and solar, each dollar spent will avoid only 3c of climate damage.

Recently, the 10-year, $US10 billion public investment into shale gas in the US proved to be a great way to cut carbon. While it wasn’t intended as climate policy, it led the way for a surge in production of cheap gas, which out competed a significant part of US coal consumption. Because gas emits about half the CO2 of coal, the US has reduced emissions more than any other country in the past 10 years.

France has an extremely low level of carbon dioxide emissions per capita from electricity generation since over 90% of its electricity is nuclear (58 nuclear reactors) or hydro. Why isn’t nuclear on the table in other countries, particularly Australia with some of the biggest reserves of uranium ore?

Politicians across the world happily promise to emit net zero CO2 by 2050, knowing they will be long retired from politics when those vows are broken. Achieving this will be almost impossibly expensive, likely provoking “yellow vest” street riots long before their conclusion.

After New Zealand made its 2050 zero emissions promise, the government commissioned a report on the costs. The report found that achieving this goal in the most cost-effective manner would cost more than last year’s entire national budget on social security, welfare, health, education, police, courts, defence, environment and every other part of government combined. Each and every year.

UN Losing Credibility:

UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres is inviting all heads of state to New York next September to promise jointly to cut global emissions to zero by 2050. To see exactly how unrealistic this is, look at the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s five policy scenarios for the 21st century. The most optimistic “sustainable” scenario puts on green-tinted glasses to envisage a world in which the rich countries happily accept having their energy availability cut in half and people in the poor world accept they will never catch up even to half of rich-world energy availability.

We have a world in crisis with politicians living in “Lalaland”. To quote again, former US vice-president Al Gore’s chief scientific adviser, Jim Hansen “suggesting that renewable s will let us phase rapidly off fossil fuels in the United States, China, India, or the world as a whole is almost the equivalent of believing in the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy.”

Surely, for the Bible believing Christian, this is further evidence we are living in the prophesied end times prior to Jesus return to rule with a rod of iron for one thousand years, as revealed in Revelation 20.

LAWLESSNESS IN THE LAST DAYS

Jesus said that just before His return to rule and reign in the Millennium with a rod of iron, that the world would be in a state of lawlessness, as in the days of Noah. God has told us exactly what will unfold in the years before He returns. The Old Testament, written hundreds of years before Jesus’ birth, contains over 300 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled through His birth, life, death and resurrection. Sadly, the religious people of His day, the Sadducee’s and Pharisee’s didn’t get it and whilst there are far more prophecies about Jesus second coming than His first coming, the religious people of our day are not getting it as well. Wake up church.

“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man (JESUS) be.” Matthew 24:37

The following report reveals that the world is totally out of control and governments have run out of options to fix it. Whilst these are the figures for the USA, let me tell you the numbers for Europe, China, Japan are worse. What follows is anarchy and we are seeing it more and more as is shown in France with the Yellow Vest movement.

According to the U.S. Treasury Department, America’s national debt was 22 trillion dollars on December 31, 2018.

The U.S. will have had a deficit in 88 out of 100 years and only 4 out of 62 years with a surplus.

America can’t even balance a single year’s budget, much less start paying down its net debt. We regret to conclude realistically THE ACCUMULATED DEBT IS UNPAYABLE.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the interest expense on debt is expected to increase 186% to $929 billion annually by 2029 — surpassing all categories except for Medicare and Social Security. That is almost a trillion dollars annually! While these projections assume interest rates on 10-year Treasury bonds will remain below 3.8%,

A ONE PERCENT HIGHER-THAN-EXPECTED INTEREST RATE ON THE 10-YEAR BONDS WOULD ADD ANOTHER $1.9 TRILLION IN OVERALL INTEREST EXPENSE!
