The Seventy Weeks prophecy of Daniel is a foundational end times prophecy
“Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place.” Daniel 9:24
In this Seventy weeks (seventy weeks of years) prophecy, the first 69 weeks have played out exactly as prophesied including Jesus first coming to this earth and being killed “cut off”. There is an unspecified time gap between the 69 weeks and the last seven weeks (seven years) but as many of the other end-times events specified by Jesus in the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24) and in Revelation are beginning to play out we know that the last seven years before Jesus returns to set up His Millennial Kingdom is not too far off.
... And he (Antichrist) shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week, he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”Daniel 9:27
Bearing in mind Daniel was told to seal up the prophecy as it was not applicable until the time of the end.
“Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end.” Daniel 12:9
We know from this prophecy that the Antichrist puts an end to sacrifices and offerings at the midpoint of the last seven years so they will need to start sometime before the midpoint.

Radical Muslim extremists will be emboldened by the “level of incompetence of our American military, security and political establishment” to quote Dr Land.
Exactly as prophesied, in the “end times” all of the nations surrounding Israel (Muslim nations) are intent on its destruction which will eventually lead to the “Time of Jacobs Trouble” when Israel is invaded by the Antichrist (Gog).
Numbers 24:7 and Ezekiel 38-39 prove that Gog is the Antichristand that he will be defeated by Jesus
Of all people that God would give an “end times” prophecy to, it is hard to conceive Balaam, or is it, God often uses the most unlikely people for His purposes.
I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star (Jesus) shall come out of Jacob, and a sceptre (King) shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth. Edom shall be dispossessed; Seir also, his enemies, shall be dispossessed. Israel is doing valiantly. And one from Jacob shall exercise dominion and destroy the survivors of cities!”Numbers 24:17-19
“How lovely are your tents, O Jacob, your encampments, O Israel!Water shall flow from his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters; His king (Jesus) shall be higher than Gog (Agag) and His kingdom shall be exalted… He shall eat up the nations, His adversaries, and shall break their bones in pieces.” Numbers 24:5, 7, 8
It is only in recent years with the aid of teachers such as Travis Snow and Nelson Walters that I have come to realise how much of Ezekiel is “end times” prophecy.
“Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say to Gog, Thus says the Lord God: On that day when my people Israel are dwelling securely, will you not know it? You will come from your place out of the uttermost parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty army. You will come up against my people Israel, like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.” Ezekiel 38:14-16

Once we grasp that Gog is the Antichrist, and that he first made his appearance in Numbers 24, it is hard to argue that Gog’s invasion of Israel in Ezekiel 38 could take place at any other time than the beginning point of the Great Tribulation (halfway through Daniel’s 70th week). We know from Daniel 9:27 that the Antichrist turns on Israel halfway through Daniel’s 70th week, which consequently leads to a period of unparalleled distress and suffering in Israel (cf. Dan. 12:7-13).
So when we compare Scripture to Scripture, it can be argued that Gog’s invasion of Israel in Ezekiel 38 is a more detailed description of the events described in Daniel 9:27 and 12:7-12, which are also tied to the period of time Jeremiah called the Time of Jacob’s Trouble (Jeremiah 30:7; cf. Zechariah 12:3;14:1-2).
In simple terms, Gog’s invasion of Israel in Ezekiel 38 is what happens after the Antichrist breaks his covenant with Israel, which then starts the timeclock of Israel’s final 3 ½ years of suffering and exile before the return of Jesus. Since Gog is the Antichrist, and since it appears from Daniel 9:27 that the Antichrist will establish a false peace treaty with Israel during the first half of the Tribulation, it is not possible that his invasion of Israel could occur before the midpoint of the 70th week.
From previous posts you will know that I believe we are already seeing the “end times” prophecies in Daniel 8 unfolding in our time with Shia Iran (the Ram) with its proxies, Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis and al-Ashtar Brigades “charging westward and northward and southward”
“I saw the ram charging westward and northward and southward. No beast could stand before him, and there was no one who could rescue from his power. He did as he pleased and became great.” Daniel 8:4
Next major prophesied event will be Sunni Turkey (the Goat) of Daniel 8 will subjugate Shia Iran (the Ram) and attempt to re-establish its Ottoman Empire.
The Temple Institute was founded in 1987. The Institute is dedicated to every aspect of the Torah commandment to build the Holy Temple of God on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. It has been actively engaged in the research and preparation of the resumption of service in the Holy temple to the extent of actually preparing operational blueprints for the construction of the temple.
However, would not another temple, with all the attendant animal sacrifices required, be a blasphemy in light of the “Ultimate Sacrifice” which has already been given through Jesus Christ on the cross?
By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. – Hebrews 10:10
Based on man’s rebellious nature, it is not surprising to see the frantic effort to rebuild another temporal, earthly temple in Jerusalem. This is in direct opposition to what Scripture clearly teaches us about how Yeshua came to transform us.
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”
1 Corinthians 3:16
Why would the Most High God revert to inhabiting wood and stone after making a flesh and blood appearance? As noted, the prophet Daniel says this is a move that we should expect of an unrepentant Israel still awaiting their Messiah. While the Bible does prophesy that there will be a temple restoration before His return to rapture the saints. It is short lived, as we know that a Satan empowered antiChrist will enthrone himself as God in the temple, mid point through the last seven years.
“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel – let the reader understand – let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” Matthew 24: 15-16
At Christs return to earth with the saints, and before the beginning of Christ’s Millennial Reign, Satan will be bound and Hell sealed over for 1000 years.
“And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain.He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended.”
Revelation 20:1-3
It is during this time that there will be complete and total “temple restoration” of the Body of Christ who will enjoy the kingly rule of Yeshua Himself upon His Second Coming.
After 6000 years of fallen mankind, we will enjoy a 1000 year Shabbat with the Lord of the Sabbath.
Note, Jesus expects Christians to be around during the Tribulation and for the Great Tribulation, but as He promised, not during the period when God’s wrath is poured out on the earth during the Trumpet and Bowl judgements.
As some of my followers will have determined, I hold to a Prewrath Rapture position. It means that Christians will go through the tribulation period outlined by Daniel and John in Revelation, but not be subjected to the wrath of God that is poured out during the trumpet and bowl judgements.

I found the following fifteen tenets of the Prewrath position as outlined on Alan Kurschner’s website a great help and I hope you do too.
There is a future seven-year period, and at the midpoint the Antichrist will be revealed and commit the abomination of desolation, initiating his great tribulation against the Church and Israel.
There is a biblical distinction between the Antichrist’s great tribulation against the Church and Israel and the day of the Lord’s wrath against the ungodly. The latter event happens after the former event.
The gathering of the elect mentioned in Matthew 24:31 refers to the rapture (cf. Mark 13:27; Luke 21:28; Rev 7:9–17; 1 Thess 4:13–18; 2 Thess 2:1).
At an unknown day and hour during the second half of the seven-year period, the Antichrist’s great tribulation will be cut short by the Revelation of Christ to resurrect and rapture God’s people, and this will be followed immediately by the day of the Lord’s wrath with the trumpet and bowl judgements.
On the same day the rapture happens, the onset of the day of the Lord’s wrath takes place, just as it was in the days of Noah and Lot (Luke 17:22–37; cf. 2 Thess 1:5–10).
The second coming (parousia) is not a simple (instantaneous) event. The second coming is a complex-whole event containing various purposes of God, beginning with the Revelation of Christ in the sky displaying his Shekinah glory and power to the whole world, and resurrecting and rapturing God’s people, followed by the day of the Lord’s judgments upon the ungodly and Antichrist’s kingdom, restoring Israel to salvation, and culminating in Christ’s earthly reign.
Although Armageddon is an element within the complex-whole second coming, Armageddon does not initiate the second coming; instead, the second coming begins between the sixth and seventh seal.
The resurrection and rapture happens between the opening of the sixth seal and the seventh seal.
The first six seals are not part of the day of the Lord’s wrath. The first six seals are conditional events that must happen before Christ’s return.
The sixth seal signals the impending day of the Lord’s wrath as recorded in Joel 2:30–31; Matthew 24:29; Luke 21:25–26; Mark 13:23–25; and Revelation 6:12–17.
The seventh seal pronounces the day of the Lord’s wrath.
The trumpets, bowls, and Armageddon contain and execute the day of the Lord’s wrath.
The trumpets, bowls, and Armageddon will not occur before the seventh seal is opened.
Paul’s “last trumpet” (1 Cor 15:52) is not the seventh trumpet judgment in the book of Revelation.
Christ’s return to resurrect and rapture God’s people is not imminent (“any moment”), since discernible prophesied events must happen first (e.g., the Antichrist’s revelation and his ensuing great tribulation; the apostasy; coming of Elijah; and a cluster of discernible celestial events). Christ can return in any generation of the Church.

Sadly, most of these people live their lives as if God does not exist, certainly not the God of the Bible who tells us that to fear God is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 1:7 At this time, I am also reminded of what Jesus said,
“If you abide in my WORD, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32
God’s word also tells us, that “scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgement and destruction of the ungodly.
The world no longer believes that God judged the world just four thousand years ago. Only eight human survivors of a worldwide flood and yet the evidence of billions of things buried quickly all over the world is stark and ample evidence.
Probably the greatest proof of the authenticity of the Bible is fulfilled prophecy. Over 300 prophecies of Jesus first coming is enough, but do you know that there are many more prophecies concerning His second coming and these are beginning to unfold in our time. One of the most significant is the prophecy of Israel being reborn as a nation and that God would bring Jews back to Israel from all around the world. This is happening at an increasing rate as we approach the last seven years before Jesus return – The 70th Week of Daniel.
Many of the recent posts on this website clearly demonstrate we are in the “last days”. Another, very significant sign given by Jesus, is that in the “last days” there would be apostasy in the church. A great falling away, as the church no longer stands on God’s Word, heeding sound doctrine. Abortion, same sex marriage, gender fluidity and euthanasia are four abominations in God’s sight which will bring God’s judgement on nations that approve of these sins. Australia now joins those other nations that are going down this path of destruction. Judgement of Sodom and Gomorrah was a real historical event but the scoffers are blind.
In my recent post ANTICHRIST REVEALED – MAHDI, I mentioned the next two wars in the Middle East prophesied in Daniel 8. My information was extracted largely from Mark Davidson’s book, Iran’s Great Invasion but I have since watched Joel Richardson’s video. Daniel 8 & The Next Great Wars. I think you will appreciate seeing Joel expound the Scriptures and history relating to these two “last days” wars. Joel is a very humble man as you will see from his presentation. I met both Joel and Mark at the Understanding the Times Conference in Tyler Texas in July. Both were speakers at that conference. Joel was the keynote speaker. Since then, I have been following Joel’s weekly video “The Underground”.
