PROOF BIBLE AUTHORS INSPIRED BY GOD

Just look at what God revealed to Isaiah about Jesus. Isaiah the Prophet wrote a stunningly accurate portrait of Jesus’ all-encompassing work before, at, and after the cross.

BEFORE THE CROSS

In Isaiah 53, he states “Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed” (Isaiah 53:1). This is an accurate prediction: not many continued to follow Jesus after some of His hard teachings (John 6:66). Not many believed it in the end. At the Cross, they all fled. The crowds liked the fish and loaves of bread, but they were not willing to follow Him.

Jesus was a carpenter (Mark 6:3), and he probably looked just like any other Jew of the day. What does Isaiah tell us about Jesus’ physical appearance?

“He had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him” (Isaiah 53:2).

The religious crowd despised Jesus for claiming to be Who He really was. Did Isaiah predict this happening?

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.Isaiah 53:3

AT THE CROSS BEFORE AND DURING HIS CRUCIFIXION

When taken before the Roman Governor, Pontius Pilot we know that Jesus did not try to defend himself. Could Isaiah have been shown this simple fact?

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.Isaiah 53:7

Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world, motivated by the love of God (John 3:16). Could Isaiah have been shown this 700 years before Jesus came to earth and in such detail?

Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds, we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.Isaiah 53:4-6

Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; He has put him to grief; when His soul makes an offering for guilt, He shall see his offspring; He shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. Out of the anguish of His soul He shall see and be satisfied; by His knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and He shall bear their iniquities.Isaiah 53:10-11

AFTER THE CROSS

Could Isaiah have been shown details of Jesus’ death and burial? Once again in astonishing detail. We know that Joseph of Arimathea was the rich man who gave Jesus his own grave (Matthew 27:60).

By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.Isaiah 53:8-9

Does God reveal anything about the ultimate destiny of the nation, Israel, which He established for His purposes?

For a brief moment I deserted you, but with great compassion, I will gather you. In overflowing anger, for a moment I hid my face from you, but with everlasting love, I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord, your Redeemer. “This is like the days of Noah to me: as I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be (forever) angry with you, and will not rebuke you. For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.Isaiah 54:7-10

Israel has a glorious future ahead with Jesus ruling and reigning with the Saints during His Millennial reign on this earth. Will you be there? Start living eternal now ready for Jesus’ return.

They (Saints) came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.” Revelation 20:4-6

PROOF MOSES WROTE THE PENTATEUCH

The most ancient Proto-Hebrew inscription ever discovered!

According to Associates for Biblical Research (ABR), the inside surfaces of the amulet contain 44 proto-alphabetic letters (a script that precedes paleo-Hebrew) and is centuries older than the oldest known Hebrew texts from ancient Israel. Douglas Petrovich, also an associate with ABR, has been working on even older proto-consonantal scripts found in Sinai dated to 1842 bc. 6 These were featured in the film Patterns of Evidence: The Moses Controversy. 7 All this evidence is highly significant because many liberal theologians postulate there was no evidence of an alphabet in which to write during the LBI–II period, hence, the Bible must have been written much later than Moses—in contradiction to Jesus’s clear statement in John 5:46. Furthermore, the divine name YHW occurs at an Israelite covenant site of LBI–II age. This new discovery forever buries skeptical claims of the late formation of the Bible, or of Israel as a nation. It cannot be overstated how important this artifact really is: it truly is “one of the greatest discoveries to ever come out of the Holy Land.” ABR have yet to publish their translation of the outermost tablet surface text—which may reveal to whom the tablet belonged, who it was written by, or to whom it was addressed. We will wait with anticipation for the publishing of their textual analysis (hopefully by the end of 2022) and for further exciting archaeological discoveries on Mt Ebal!

NATIONS UNDER JUDGEMENT

The modern culture has long abandoned any sense of biblical morality, and thereby forfeited even a general, common grace. There is mass confusion, division, in fact, open rebellion against God, not only in most western nations but even within the church.

If you’re looking at everything going on and have not wondered if we are seeing the judgment of God playing out before our eyes, I would say you are spiritually blind for the simple reason that there is ample Biblical evidence that the judgment of God has been released on cultures given over to a debased mind (Romans. 1). The church is likewise being brought to task for a debased mind. Moreover, most nations have long been under judgment.

In the USA, the fact that two young police officers can be shot at point-blank and all the bystanders do is film it in delight is beyond belief. Worse still, several others knew which hospital to block off the entrance to, and chant that they hoped the officers would die. There were no protests for these two officers. No looting. No burning buildings. No calls from activists for justice. Sadly, you won’t find sermons on any of this from woke Christians either. Instead, all you will continue to see is the case being made to dismantle the justice system because it is fundamentally corrupt, and how white churches are not safe for minorities.

The fact that many in the church want to link arms with movements born out of a hatred for God Himself simply reinforces that the issue is one of conformity to this age. And it is not just on this issue, the broader culture has become so degraded any semblance of proper sexuality is long gone and we can expect only new, twisted expressions of debauchery. This is perhaps no more clearly seen than in the recent escapade surrounding the sexualization of 11-year-olds, as even some professing Christians came to the defense in saying there was an overblown reaction to what was laid bare for the whole world to see. Most Christians automatically decried Cuties for its exploitation of these young girls, yet there were still some who defended it.

The Netflix film 'Cuties' has created a firestorm of controversy both in the U.S. and abroad. (Netflix)

On top of the child abuse scandals in the Roman Catholic church, we now see 218 people in the Southern Baptist Convention who were found to be criminal abusers of children. It seems many professing Christians are masters at making excuses and leaving room for grotesque forms of sin.

Those who are Christian in name only will not be willing to pay the cost associated with proclaiming the Lordship of Christ.

The churches in the Middle East, Africa and Asia are blooming anew in the midst of incredible suffering for the sake of the gospel. Whilst the lamp in the West starts to sputter another is fanned into flame. The gates of Hell cannot prevail. The gospel goes forward while the Lord is at work in far greater things than our little minds can possibly comprehend.

FURTHER PROOF OF BIBLICAL INERRANCY

Archaeologists were excited by the discovery of a seal and a small clay seal impression (bulla), with ancient Hebrew script on them on the western slope of the City of David, Jerusalem.

This wonderful find serves to connect another specifically named individual from the Bible to real physical history in the correct time period, confirming that we can be confident the Bible is reliable.

City of David,
CLAY SEAL OF KING JOSIAH’S

The 2,700-year-old seal impression translates as “[belonging] to Nathan-Melech, Servant of the King”. In 2 Kings 23:11, Nathan-Melek is named as an official of the godly King Josiah of Judah (7th century BC).

The items were found inside the remains of a large public administrative building that was likely destroyed during the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem in 586 bc. Archaeologist Dr Yiftah Shalev of the Israel Antiquities Authority explained, “What is important is not just that they were found in Jerusalem, but [that they were found] inside their true archaeological context. It is not a coincidence that the seal and the seal impression are found here.”

ARE YOU A FOOL LIKE ME?

Great Easter message. Pass it on

Unshakable Hope

I’m sure it’s the little boy still hiding in my 57-year-old paralyzed body, but I enjoy trying to pull off a good April Fools Day joke on Mary. In our thirty-two years of marriage, I probably have a 75% success rate.

It can be a real challenge to carry out a successful April fools joke with ALS because I can’t speak so I have to attempt to fool her via email or using my computer’s (no inflection) robot voice (the only “voice” I’ve had for the last twenty years).

As I’m sure you know, April Fools Day and Easter (the day we celebrate Christ’s resurrection from the dead) fall on the same day this year. The two have not fallen on the same day since 1956.

Are Christians foolsfor believing that Christ was literally raised from the dead?

Atheists, agnostics and those of other faiths, believe it…

MIRACULOUS MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE OPENED TO THE PUBLIC IN WASHINGTON DC

Friday November 17th, 2017 is historic. It’s the day the new Museum of the Bible (MOTB) opened to the public in Washington, D.C. At a time when the veracity of the Bible is questioned like never before, God had His person step up to respond. Sadly, most Bible Colleges have compromised the Bible in response to believing in the the lie of evolution, so this Museum of the Bible which stands on the inerrancy of God’s Word is timely.

Biblical literacy among believers these days has been described by many as “disappointing.” That alone prompted Hobby Lobby Founder and CEO Steve Green and his family to build the Museum of the Bible.

The Museum of the Bible would not be possible without the generosity of the Green family.

In 2010, they began accumulating biblical artefacts and quickly amassed a sizeable collection. The family felt a responsibility to make these artefacts available to the public and proposed opening a museum in Dallas. After due diligence, they decided to locate instead in the nation’s capital. The result is the Museum of the Bible.

Steve Green along with his wife, Jackie, said his family “loves God’s Word and raised our families to go to church and live our lives according to the Bible. So, we decided to celebrate the Book by dedicating a museum to let people know about God’s Book.”

Finding a suitable building in Washington, close to the major sites, was a miracle in itself. In a city, where it is difficult to find large properties for sale, his team found one a short walk from the Capitol and also from the Smithsonian museums along the National Mall. Built in 1923, the building was the first refrigerated warehouse in Washington, built so sturdily that locomotives could go inside to unload.

The museum is full of hi tech displays, one is a “digital docent” with a tablet, smaller than an iPad but larger than an iPhone, that visitors can use to customise their tours and keep track of their group members. Another one is the fly-board theatre—a Disney-esque theatre where, through the sensation of flying, guests will be able to see where Scripture is engraved on monuments and walls throughout D.C. For example, as the visitor flies by the Lincoln Memorial, Abraham Lincoln seems to rise from his seat, and there are sights and sounds of the Civil War behind him.

In our secularised culture, there is little that focuses on faith or Christianity. I’m excited that MOTB will present the story in a winsome way. However, Green made it clear that the museum is not about endorsing his family’s own Christian beliefs—it’s just teaching about the Book. This is done in three different ways: examining the history and evidences of its existence, looking at its impact on every area of life and focusing on the story of how the Bible came to us.

“If we were to set aside everything we’ve ever learned, just come to this Book and read it, what is the story it tells?” Green asks. “Collectively, all the books tell a larger story, which we have a floor dedicated to telling. We want people to come and learn about the Book and be inspired to know it better than they do when they first come.”
