Joel does a good job of explaining why God has given us incredible detail of Jesus Millennial Temple and how it impacts the world during this 1000 year transition period between Satan’s rule on planet earth and the new Heaven and new Earth of Revelation 21. Beginning in Genesis, Joel explains why the temple needs to exist in Jesus Millennial reign on this Earth. It is based on two realities: 1. The dwelling of God with man, and 2. The Davidic Covenant.

Two important scriptures are 2 Samuel 7:13 and Zechariah 6:11-13. There is no doubt about who will build the temple. It won’t appear magically it will be built. There will be many construction projects as Israel and the world is rebuilt after the devastation caused during the time God’s wrath is poured out on an unrepentant world.. The resurrected Saints will be busy ruling and reigning with Jesus. Moreover, as difficult as this is to comprehend they rule with a rod of iron.

“He (Jesus) shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.” 2 Samuel 7:13

“Take from them silver and gold, and make a crown, and set it on the head of Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: for he shall branch out from his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord. It is he who shall build the temple of the Lord and shall bear royal honor, and shall sit and rule on his throne. And there shall be a priest on his throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.” Zechariah 6:11-13

As I mentioned the detail that is given on the temple is incredible. The river that begins under the temple is amazing in how it transforms the Dead Sea to be filled with all kinds of fish. The trees on either side of the river bear fruit every month and the leaves are for healing.

“And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.” Ezekiel 40:12
