In Daniel’s final vision (Daniel 12:5-13), the question is posed, “How long until the end?” Alistair Begg explains that the response to this question is marked by gravity (gravitas – seriousness), mystery, and certainty. Moreover, he highlights what we can know with clarity: that the people of God will endure to the end. Just as Daniel did not understand all that this prophecy meant, we will not be able to fully comprehend it until it is fulfilled. We are called to carry on for God’s glory, aware of our mortality and clinging to the promise of rising in Him. Alistair Begg is a sincere Bible presenter and he does a good job with Daniel and a difficult topic. Each of us need like Daniel to get on with the job God has given us and “Go your way Daniel” but for us Biblical prophecy reveals it is the time of the end so there is now an urgency about doing the job God has called us to do.

“How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?” And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream; he raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven and swore by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be finished. I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, “O my lord, what shall be the outcome of these things?” He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end.: Daniel 12:6-9
