More prophesied demonic warfare against Europe and the West.

You can always tell it is the weekend: European cities are again being torched by the Islamo-Marxists. Whether it is Brussels or Paris or Lyon or Marseille or Barcelona or Milan or Florence or Bologna or Rome, the continent is now a war zone. Rioters have even stormed the Colosseum in Rome.

As someone who had lived in Europe for five years, and been to all these countries, it is, of course, absolutely heart-breaking to witness what is now happening there. The many centuries of the slow building of Western civilisation are now being undone in a matter of days and months.
And most Western leaders are either fully pathetic and useless about all this, or are in fact complicit in it. Whether it is Burnham or Macron or Sanchez or others, they seem to be simply pouring more fuel on the flames. And letting in millions of unvetted and unchecked migrants from the third world simply guarantees that Europe will end up just like the third world.
I just saw a post on social media that nicely sums all this up in a short video. A motorcade said to be of Macron and his people is being chased out of a community by rioting Muslims shouting “Allahu Akbar!” As I said about it: “If true, will this finally wake him up? I doubt it. He is fully complicit in all this.”
This is a civilisation struggle of the highest order. These miscreants will stop at nothing until all of Europe is levelled, along with the rest of the West. What we are dealing with here are savages, barbarians and criminals who are all part of the demonic Red-Green alliance.
I and so many others have warned for years about the unholy alliance of Islam and the political left. See this piece from 15 years ago. And this piece from 6 months ago. Both sides think they are using the other to achieve their own ends. But anyone with a modicum of discernment knows exactly how this devilish alliance will end: Once Israel and the West are destroyed, then the Muslim hordes will quickly eliminate the useful idiots of the left.
This is a temporary alliance, designed to help the political ideology of Islam achieve its clearly stated goals of seeing a universal caliphate established with everyone enslaved under sharia law. The war on Europe is just part of the jihadist aim of eliminating the Little Satan, Israel, and the Great Satan, America, and then taking complete control.
This is the war we are in. This is the battle for civilisation that we are now living through in real time. The left might think they are on the cusp of their much-desired revolution, but they are simply fools. The left claims to be all for human rights, the rights of women, and so on.
But they ignore all that to achieve their socialist paradise — something that has never happened and never will. So they turn a blind eye to the crimes of Islam. As Will Kingston put it: “Leftists will always minimise Islamic terrorism and maximise the political capital they can extract from ‘far-right’ violence. After all, they’re the ones who let the barbarians through the gates.”
Satan’s War Against Christian Civilisation
And as I have to keep repeating, behind the left and behind Islam stands the REAL agitator: Satan. He is the malevolent being utterly set on death and destruction. He is the malignant monster who hates God, hates God’s people, and hates everything God cares about.
So no wonder Western civilisation is fully in his crosshairs. Western civilisation, for all its faults, has overwhelmingly been Christian civilisation. The Judeo-Christian worldview which helped to birth Europe and the West is what Satan despises with all his repellent being.
But of course, his days are numbered. We know that the purposes of God will stand. Things might keep getting really ugly for a while, especially in Europe. But in the end, God wins. Scripture throughout makes this clear.
I just read again the account of a famous post-resurrection appearance of Jesus, on the road to Emmaus. Found only in Luke’s Gospel (Luke 24:13-25), it tells us of the great sorrow and bewilderment of two followers of Jesus. The three years of his amazing teaching and miracles have seemingly all come to nothing.
All the long-awaited biblical promises of a Messiah who would come to deliver God’s people seem to be smashed. But in this story, we read about how Jesus appears among them, even though unrecognised. He has to tell them that they were amiss to not believe what God had revealed to them in the Hebrew Scriptures:
“And he said to them, ‘O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?’ And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” (verses 25-27)
And then He departed from them as mysteriously as He had met them. Verses 32-34 tell us what happened next:
“They said to each other, ‘Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?’ And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, ‘The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!’”
The Risen Christ Is Our Hope
As R. Kent Hughes says about the immediate aftermath of the crucifixion of Christ:
In the late afternoon when the darkness lifted from Golgotha and the sun was full upon Him, Jesus cried out in triumph and breathed his last breath. But those gathered around the cross did not recognize His victory. As Christ hung motionless, the warm sun spread over his spilled blood.
As those who had hoped in Jesus slowly trudged away from the scene, the icy fingers of death tightened about their hearts in chilling, numbing grief. Despairing hands prepared his cold body for burial and laid it in the tomb. So deep was their despair that no one possessed even the slightest thought of resurrection.
When at dawn on the third day the women found the tomb empty, still no one suspected resurrection. It appears that they didn’t even believe after the angels announced he had risen. And when Peter inspected the empty tomb, instead of believing, he went away wondering.
But their despair soon turned to rejoicing. The risen Christ DID fulfil all the Old Testament promises. And with that reality firmly in place, the early church went on to conquer much of the world — not with the edge of the sword, as Islam had done and still does — but by sharing the good news of the love of God in Christ.
We believers may well feel like these disciples. With Europe in flames and the West looking to be doomed, heavy despair, panic and worry can easily overtake us. It might seem that all is lost. But God is working out His purposes, and He is still on the throne.
Yes, we must do what we can to resist the satanic agenda of Islam and the left, but at the end of the day, we put our hope in the only one who can really save us from all this darkness and destruction. Because He is risen, we can trust that even this evil we see all over Europe is only temporary and will one day come to an end.
