THE GENERATION THAT REJECTS GOD

“So the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord which He had done for Israel. Now Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died when he was one hundred and ten years old… When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.” Judges 2: 7-10

Just one generation after Joshua died – they did not know the Lord, nor the work He had done to establish the nation of Israel. 

We are living with the generation that has been taught in our schools and universities that the Cosmos evolved over billions of years and consequently there is no purpose or meaning to life. In academia, the Bible is considered to be a book of myths and legends. Even our Bible Colleges no longer teach the inerrancy of Scripture and have compromised with the world, now calling evil good and good evil.

Over 100 years ago now, when asked about the dangers facing the Christian church, Salvation Army Founder, William Booth replied,

“The chief danger that confronts the coming century will be religion without the Holy Spirit, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, heaven without hell.” How right he was.

Target department stores are not only offering clothing and accessories celebrating the gay lifestyle to adults and children, but the company has also pledged to donate to a nonprofit that trains students and teachers in LGBT politics and advocacy.   On Target’s official website, it has several pages dedicated to merchandise that features the rainbow gay pride flag as well as messages intended to instil pride in the LGBT lifestyle.

In addition, Target proclaims that it is donating $100,000 to GLSEN, an organisation founded in 1990 that claims to be “the leading national education organisation focused on ensuring safe and affirming schools for LGBTQ students.” According to GLSEN’s website, “Our mission is to create safe and affirming schools for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.” The organisation offers lesson plans for elementary school children on “gender-neutral” pronouns and terminology as part of the Common Core curriculum as well as introducing gender ideology to third-graders. GLSEN partners with the United Nations and like-minded groups in Canada, China, Ireland, Israel, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.

Coincidentally, Target chief marketing officer Rick Gomez also serves on GLSEN’s board of directors.

GLSEN provides training and resources to LGBTQ activists on school campuses while also advocating the homosexual cause in the political sphere. According to its website, “We accomplish our goals by working in hallways across the country — from Congress and the Department of Education to schools and district offices in your community — to improve school climate and champion LGBT issues in K-12 education”

Besides Target, major donors to GLSEN include Walt Disney, JP Morgan Chase and Co., HBO, Delta Airlines, Hollister, NBA, McDonald’s, AT&T, Morgan Stanley, Gucci, Bloomberg, and Colgate-Palmolive. Through its board members, GLSEN also maintains a relationship with the largest teachers union in the United States, the National Education Association.

DEBATE: PRETRIBULATION OR PREWRATH RAPTURE

HAVE CHRISTIANS BEEN MISLED ABOUT SECOND COMING OF JESUS?

Great to see that Dr Michael Brown has realised that Scripture does not support a Pre-Tribulation Rapture.

Without a doubt, the New Testament proclaims that Jesus will return to earth and establish His Kingdom. And without a doubt, the New Testament calls us to live with readiness and expectation. We can all agree on that.

But does the New Testament teach that, for true believers, Jesus will come suddenly, like a thief in the night, without any signs? Or, to the contrary, does it teach that His coming will not be like a thief in the night for godly believers, since we are awake and alert, fully aware of the signs of the times?

“To be clear, I don’t doubt for a moment that we’re living in prophetic times”, said Dr Brown

The gospel is spreading all over the world in unprecedented fashion, just as the Scriptures predicted.

Out of the ashes of the Holocaust, Israel has been re-birthed, and Jerusalem remains at the centre of world attention, again, in accordance with the prophets’ words.

And around the globe, Christians are being brutally persecuted for their faith, mowed down by the hundreds and thousands. This too is in harmony with Scripture, which speak of the last days as times of great blessing and great upheaval, of great light and great darkness, or great victory and great conflict. Jesus promised that Christians would not experience the wrath of God but Scripture shows us that in the end times, God’s wrath is poured out at the Trumpet and Bowl Judgements. The Rapture occurs after the sixth seal. John saw the great multitude that no one could number of believers before the throne clothed in white robes (resurrected bodies) and waving palm branches just prior to the seventh seal being opened and the trumpet judgements commencing.

Despite the popular theology of our day, Christians should not expect to get out of experiencing the tribulation or the end times. Nowhere in the Bible does the Lord promise us this, say Michael Brown and Craig Keener, two leading, acclaimed Bible scholars. In fact, they say, Jesus promises us tribulation in this world.

Yet this is no reason to fear. In this fascinating, accessible, and personal book, Brown and Keener walk you through what the Bible really says about the rapture, the tribulation, and the end times. What they find will leave you full of hope. God’s wrath is not poured out on His people, and He will shield us from it–as he shielded Israel in Egypt during the ten plagues. Upsurge in big earthquakes predicted for 2018 as Earth rotation slows

Scientists say number of severe quakes is likely to rise strongly next year because of a periodic slowing of the Earth’s rotation

The link between Earth’s rotation and seismic activity was highlighted last month in a paper by Roger Bilham of the University of Colorado in Boulder and Rebecca Bendick of the University of Montana in Missoula presented at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America.

“The correlation between Earth’s rotation and earthquake activity is strong and suggests there is going to be an increase in numbers of intense earthquakes next year,” Bilham told the Observer last week.

In their study, Bilham and Bendick looked at earthquakes of magnitude 7 and greater that had occurred since 1900. “Major earthquakes have been well recorded for more than a century and that gives us a good record to study,” said Bilham.

They found five periods when there had been significantly higher numbers of large earthquakes compared with other times. “In these periods, there were between 25 to 30 intense earthquakes a year,” said Bilham. “The rest of the time the average figure was around 15 major earthquakes a year.”

Bilham and Bendick found that there had been periods of around five years when Earth’s rotation slowed by such an amount several times over the past century and a half. Crucially, these periods were followed by periods when the numbers of intense earthquakes increased.

“It is straightforward,” said Bilham. “The Earth is offering us a five-year heads-up on future earthquakes.”

This link is particularly important because Earth’s rotation began one of its periodic slowdowns more than four years ago. “The inference is clear,” said Bilham. “Next year we should see a significant increase in numbers of severe earthquakes. We have had it easy this year. So far we have only had about six severe earthquakes. We could easily have 20 a year starting in 2018.”

In addition, it is difficult to predict where these extra earthquakes will occur – although Bilham said they found that most of the intense earthquakes that responded to changes in day length seemed to occur near the equator. About one billion people live in the Earth’s tropical regions.

When the church reaches out to the community, God turns up and Holy Spirit gifts are manifest. Why then would the pastor who started this move out into the community be fired. Listen to this pastor tell his story and decide what is the truth about the church in these “last days”.

Jesus said we will see division and strife in the church: “Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.” Luke 12:51. As the church moves away from the inerrancy of Scripture we will see more division in the church. Come out from your church if you see compromise. It is impossible to put new wine into old wine skins.

The unity movement in the church in these “last days” is a move to one world church submitted to the Antichrist as revealed in Biblical prophecy. Deception is rife, but remember Jesus said in the “last days” that even the elect will be deceived.

ONE DAY WITH YHWH IS AS A THOUSAND YEARS

One Day with YHWH is as a Thousand Years
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 2 Peter 3:8

Peter’s statement of “one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” is sandwiched between the scoffers’ question of “where is the promise of his coming” and Peter’s reassurance that “the Lord is not slack concerning his promise” but rather He is “long suffering to us-ward”.

In other words, YHWH’s delay in coming to restore his people is due to His love towards the Jewish people and His unwillingness that any of those called should perish.

As you can see from this context, It’s unlikely that Peter believed in the immanency of Christ’s return. He understood, that the period of time between Yeshua’s first and second coming was a period of time during which YHWH’s long suffering purpose was worked out toward the Jewish people as well as the gentiles.

Do you see, Peter’s statement here is not an enigma nor is it some metaphysical statement about the relativity of time? It is a clear statement to the Jewish people, a statement that Peter unequivocally states that they should not be “ignorant” of.

The reason they should not be ignorant of this statement is because, it comes from one of their  most important prophetic books (in the Bible) which speaks to the Jewish people’s restoration. That book was the book of Hosea and as we have already seen, both Peter and Paul referenced it when discussing the current status of the Jewish people and their promised restoration. Further, this period was linked to the “two days” of Hosea and his people’s promised restoration.

Impending judgement on Israel and Judah Hosea  Chapter 5 

I have chosen just a few verses but read all chapters 5 and 6.

“Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke;
Among the tribes of Israel I make known what is sure.
“The princes of Judah are like those who remove a landmark;
I will pour out My wrath on them like water.
Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment,
Because he willingly walked by human precept.
Therefore I will be to Ephraim like a moth,
And to the house of Judah like rottenness. Hosea 5:9-12

A Call to Repentance Chapter 6

Come, and let us return to the Lord;
For He has torn, but He will heal us;
He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up,
That we may live in His sight.
Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.Hosea 6:1-3

Hosea’s Two Days are 2000 Years

Some will try to set dates based upon this information, but frankly that is not possible or fruitful. Peter’s allusion to two days of Hosea provides no basis for us to calculate the day, hour, or frankly even the year of Yeshua’s return. The prophecy of Hosea simply states that Israel will be revived on “the third day”. When on the third day is conjecture.

It is enough for us to understand that we are living at the very end of the “two days” since Yeshua’s death and resurrection. That we have had the awesome privilege to witness the “dry bones” of Ezekiel 37 coming back together as the final century of those “two days” of Hosea runs its course.

Also. the dispersion and regathering of Israel has an amazing symbolic parallel to the death and resurrection of Yeshua. What happens to Israel’s king happens to Israel. As Yeshua was killed by the Romans and His soul left His body for two days, so was the people of Israel exiled out of their land for two thousand years. As Yeshua returned into His body after two days to be resurrected, so has the people returned to their land to be restored after two millennia.

As Yeshua’s return draws near, let’s intercede with YHWH on behalf of the Jewish people who have not yet turned their hearts towards Yeshua. Now is the time to be looking up, for our Salvation of Yahweh – our Yeshua draws near.

PROPHECY IN THE LAST DAYS

Listen to Messianic Jew Asher Intrater expound on prophecy in these last days. He is the founder and apostolic leader of Revive Israel Ministries and oversees Ahavat Yeshua congregation in Jerusalem and Tiferet Yeshua congregation in Tel Aviv.

The concept of prophecy developed in stages throughout the Scriptures. The early patriarchs had many, direct prophetic encounters with God. Then Moses brought the prophetic experience to a higher level and became the “father” of the prophets. Moses prayed for all the people of God to be able to prophesy and receive the Holy Spirit (Num. 11:29), but this prayer was only answered at the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost/Shavuot.

Moses’ prophecies reached a height at the end of his life in the last chapters of Deuteronomy–hinting at almost everything that we have in the rest of the Bible, even to the end of the book of Revelation. In fact, the idea that all the people of Israel would be saved in the end times, and that this would come about by the “fullness” of the gentile nations “provoking them to jealousy,” finds its first mention here, calling Israel “a people saved” (Deut. 32:20-21, 33:29; Rom. 10:19, 11:11, 25-26).

When the children of Israel came into the Promised Land, the early prophets (Samuel through Elisha) spoke primarily concerning David’s kingdom. They believed that the kingdom of God was the kingdom of David. After several hundred years, the prophets realized there was something fundamentally wrong, because David’s sons kept falling into sin and idolatry. A turning point occurred when King Uzziah died, and Isaiah had a vision of a glorious divine king (Isa. 6:1-6; John 12:40-41). From that time forward, the prophets then began to speak of the “Messiah” on a higher level.

Yeshua is revealed as that King-Messiah in the Gospels. After Yeshua was crucified, resurrected, and ascended, God began pouring out the Holy Spirit on all who would believe (Acts 2:1-4, 17), both Jew and Gentile Thus the prophetic gifts and revelations were made available to all in the New Covenant Church or “ecclesia” (1 Cor. 14:26, 31)

Now we are coming into the last stage of biblical prophecy, the prophecy of the end times. This new stage of prophecy is a consummation of both Israelite and church prophecy. If the prophecies of restoration for the nation of Israel are one “eye,” and the prophecies of the “fullness” of the worldwide ecclesia are the other “eye,” then it is time to open both eyes!! This could only happen after a 2,000-year history in which now the Messianic remnant in Israel and the international ecclesia are both coming into their “fullness” (Rom. 11:12, 15, 25).

The prophet Isaiah said: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor” (Isa. 61:1).

Yeshua quoted this verse in the gospel of Luke. The second verse in Isaiah 61 states “to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” In the gospels, the quote ends here. In Isaiah, the verse goes on to say, “(to proclaim) the day of vengeance of our God.”

The first part of the prophecy had to do with Yeshua’s message of grace and salvation, which began at that time, but the “day of vengeance” was to come much later in the end times. It will occur at the second coming of Yeshua during a time of judgment and war. Yeshua will lead an army from heaven to destroy the wicked, drive demons off the planet, raise the dead, and set up His kingdom. “The kingdoms of the world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever’ (Rev. 11:15).

Biblical “prophecy” today includes sharing the gospel, encouraging the church, the restoration of Israel and also confronting the nations with the soon coming kingdom: “The king is returning to take back the kingdoms of this world.” This type of prophecy was not fully possible until our generation. I believe God is offering a “double” prophetic anointing to enable us to speak of God’s destiny for Israel, the church and the nations in these end times.

IRON DOME – GOD’S HAND OF PROTECTION ON ISRAEL

The Iron Dome missile defence system was voted Israel’s all time top innovation in a competition organised by the Ministry of Economy in honour of Israel’s 70th Yom Ha’atzmaut (Independence Day) celebrations. The Iron Dome is a missile and rocket interception system developed in 2007 by Rafael Advanced Defence Systems and Israel Aircraft Industries. Since its deployment, the system has intercepted more than 1,700 missiles and rockets fired at Israel, almost entirely by the Hamas terror organisation from Gaza, although it has also downed mortar shells in the Golan Heights and intercepted rockets fired from Lebanon.

I believe the Iron Dome is just another example of how God has His hand of protection on Israel. When one considers how God has protected His nation since its miraculous rebirth in 1948 and in four major Arab-Israeli defensive wars (1947-49), 1956, 1967, and 1973, it is hard to refute God’s involvement. All of these battles involved a miraculous element for Israel to win.

In the first critical weeks after the British left the region and Israel declared its independence, the combined Arab armies of Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Trans-Jordan, Iraq, and contingents from Saudi Arabia and Yemen faced a small Jewish militia with three tanks and five artillery pieces. Their intent was clear: “Destruction of Israel”. Israel had no air force and until arms were rushed in from abroad it relied on the only strengths it had: 70 years of social solidarity and a belief that God had given them this land. Israel’s citizens also understood that defeat meant the end, period.

Against all odds, Israel prevailed, it was undoubtedly miraculous but came at a high cost, 6,000 Israeli’s killed and 15,000 severely wounded. This was out of a total population of 600,000.

In June of 1967, the combined armies of Egypt, Syria,, and Jordan attacked Israel with the clear purpose expressed by Egypt’s President, once again: “Destruction of Israel”. These combined armies had approximately 465,000 troops, more than 2,880 tanks and 810 aircraft. Israel was totally outnumbered on all fronts and yet once again won miraculously. It regained in a Jubilee year territories of  East Jerusalem, West Bank, Sinai and the Golan Heights, clear evidence of God’s involvement. The Arab objective of to eradicate the Jewish State has not changed, and we know from Biblical prophecy, that it will not change until Jesus returns and destroys the United Nations army that would have destroyed Israel except for His intervention.

Iron Dome voted greatest Israeli invention of all time

Iron Dome received 28 percent of the 115,000 votes cast in the online competition titled “70 Great Blue and White Inventions.”

The Iron Dome registered a 90 percent success rate during Operation Protective  Edge in the summer of 2014.

“During its years of existence, Israel has become a world power in everything related to technological and scientific innovation,” said Minister of Industry and Economy Eli Cohen.

“I am sure that the Israeli characteristics, including original thinking, boldness, rapid adaptation to changing conditions and the ability to circumvent obstacles will help us to continue to bring to the world Israeli innovation,” he added. “There is no dispute that the inventions that have just been chosen by the public as leading inventions are excellent examples of Israel’s ability to provide solutions to significant challenges, inspire the entire world and are a national pride for Israel.”
