EVIDENCE GOD ANSWERS PRAYER

Australia has the second lowest coronavirus death rate of the industrialised G20 nations.. The world average is 4.8%, while Australia’s sits at 0.4%. Compare this to the UK’s 6.4%, or Italy’s 11.4%. Our death rate here in Australia is 12 times better than the world average. God is truly protecting our nation.
This has been helped in no small part by the leadership of our Prime Minister Scott Morrison. He was weeks ahead of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in labelling COVID-19 a pandemic. February 28th is when ScoMo made this call, while WHO waited until March 11th to make the same move.

As I have stated in a previous post, the miraculous circumstance by which Scott Morrison became leader of this nation proves beyond doubt that he is God’s man for this hour. He is a man of faith and a man of prayer. On Sunday, he joined almost 1,000 other Aussie believers on a Zoom prayer call. Many were moved to tears as they heard his heartfelt prayers for the nation of Australia in the face of this crisis.

ENCOUNTERING MISGUIDED PROPHECIES

This story provides an important lesson in the what we do with prophetic messages, regardless of who gives them, particularly when they relate to God’s call on your life.

Twenty-three-year-old George Whitefield sat on a ship ready to sail for America from the port of Deal, located approximately 70 miles southeast of London. For some time, he had experienced a compelling call to preach the gospel to colonial America and now the day for his departure had finally arrived. His heart was filled with gratitude, excitement and expectation.

As he waited for the ship’s crew to hoist anchor and sail, a letter was delivered to him from John Wesley who had just returned from a failed mission to Georgia. He opened the letter and was stunned by what he read. Wesley wrote that when he saw that the same wind that brought him in was taking Whitefield out, he inquired of the Lord about Whitefield’s journey. Wesley emphatically stated that the word God gave him for Whitefield was, “Let him return to London.”

Whitefield was shocked and momentarily confused. Wesley was 10 years his senior and had been a mentor to him. He held the Wesley brothers, John and Charles, in very high esteem. However, this word from John contradicted everything he believed about his call to America.

Whitefield went to prayer, and as he prayed, there came to his mind a story from the Old Testament about a “man of God” who lost his life because he listened to the words of an “old prophet” instead of diligently adhering to what God had instructed him.

I Kings 13 tells this story of the unnamed “man of God” whom God instructed to go to Bethel and prophesy against the idolatrous altars that had been established there by King Jeroboam. God also instructed him not to stop to eat or drink but to return directly home to Judah when he had completed his assignment.

Based on this directive from the Lord, he went to Bethel. As he prophesied against the idolatrous altars, they miraculously split apart, and the ashes were poured out on the ground. As he departed Bethel according to the Lord’s instructions, an “old prophet,” who heard of what had happened, saddled his donkey, caught up with the “man of God” and invited him to his home to eat and drink.

When the “man of God” recounted to the “old prophet” what the Lord had instructed him, the “old prophet” said, “‘I am a prophet like you, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘Bring him back with you into your house so that he may eat bread and drink water'” (1 Kings 13:18). The “old prophet,” however, was lying.

The “man of God” went back with the “old prophet” in contradiction to the instructions the Lord had given him; and as a result of his disobedience, he lost his life and was not buried in the burial ground of his ancestors.

With this story so vividly impressed on his mind, Whitefield knew what he must do. He sent back a reply to Wesley in which he said, “I cannot return to London.” Whitefield said no to Wesley’s “thus saith the Lord.”

History has demonstrated that Whitefield made the correct decision, for he became the major figure in the Great Awakening that rocked Colonial America and prepared her for statehood. Everywhere he went, great revival followed his preaching.

Because of God’s blessing on his labors, he became the most recognizable person in colonial America and Thomas S. Kidd, who teaches history at Baylor University, calls him “America’s Spiritual Founding Father.”

We can all be thankful that Whitefield said no to Wesley’s “thus saith the Lord.”

HEALTH EXPERTS FEAR CORONAVIRUS MAY BE ‘DISEASE X’

A new report from Bloomberg is enough to send chills up your spine! The World Health Organisation has been warning humanity for years that a mysterious “Disease X” could spark a global contagion. and this current coronavirus, with its ability to quickly morph from mild to deadly, is emerging as a contender and it’s not helping any that many are fearing that this outbreak is playing out like a Hollywood thriller called “Contagion,” In the film patient zero is seen contracting the virus in Hong Kong — via a sick bat that infected a slaughtered pig handled by a chef who later comes into contact with the woman who spreads the virus. 

Health Experts Fear Coronavirus May Be ‘Disease X’

In less than three months, the coronavirus has infected almost 78,000 people, predominately in China, and has killed more than 2,300 and has spread to more than two dozen countries and now South Korea, Iran and Italy have stoked further alarm. “Whether it will be contained or not, this outbreak is rapidly becoming the first true pandemic challenge that fits the disease X category,” Marion Koopmans, the head of viroscience at Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, and a member of the WHO’s emergency committee, wrote Wednesday in the journal Cell.

The report is indicating that unlike SARS, the Covid-19 virus replicates at high concentrations in the nose and throat of the patient similar to the common cold, and appears capable of spreading from those who show no, or mild, symptoms. This was the case with a report of a Chinese woman who recently infected five relatives without ever showing any signs of an infection presenting solid evidence that the coronavirus can be spread asymptomatically. This makes it impossible to control using the fever-checking measures that helped stop SARS 17 years ago.

Veterinary pathologist Tracey McNamara told Live Science,  “If we want to protect people, it makes sense that we should detect these threats in animal populations before spillover to human populations.” The most disturbing thing about this coronavirus is the fact no one has yet to determine the source of the virus and “patient zero” has not been found.

Christians should not be surprised at what is unfolding in our day, Jesus said that in the “end times” just prior to His return to this earth: “there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.” Luke 21:11–12

God tells us that He sends pestilence among us and locusts to devour the land. Moreover He also tells us what we should do to put things right.

“When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:13-14

THE TIDE IS TURNING AS WE PRAY

Christians must continue to join together in corporate agreement. In the midst of extremist views and divisive rhetoric, the tide is turning as the Ekklesia of God rise with a united voice on behalf of Australia.

South Australian Christians asked the nation to stand with them and pray, and it resulted in increased effectiveness of prayer as tens of thousands joined their voices to help in the fight to stop the SA abortion bill to full term. To those who interceded for the Walk for Life and the 39 Days of Mercy, Heaven has heard and freedom for the unborn is the answer – a turning of the tide away from the shedding of innocent blood.

Adelaide- You truly were a ‘voice for the voiceless’ today! Over 3000 gathered in Adelaide this morning to stand and walk for life.

Many Prayer Groups have been calling for prayer and fasting particularly at this time for the unborn, in dire danger of the radical abortion bills that have swept Australia. Groups such as Canberra Declaration have done a fine job of initiating and coordinating prayer at this time.

The following scripture is appropriate:

“We feel a personal responsibility to continually be thanking God for you, our spiritual family, every time we pray. And we have every reason to do so because your faith is growing marvellously beyond measure. The unselfish love each of you share for one another is increasing and overflowing!”

CALL TO JOIN UK CHRISTIANS IN PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Dear Christian Warriors:

Let us look at what the Bible says about “defending the Faith?”  

JUDE: “Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.” Jude 1:3

PETER: “Honour the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defence to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.” 1 Peter 3:15 

PAUL: “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5 

DAVID: “Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?” Psalm 94:16  

PAUL TO TITUS: “He must be devoted to the trustworthy message we teach. Then he can use these accurate teachings to encourage people and correct those who oppose the word.” Titus 1:9

PAUL TO TIMOTHY: “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction.” 2 Timothy 4:2 

PAUL THE THE PHILIPPIAN CHURCH: “The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defence of the gospel. Thus each of us believers in Jesus Christ as Lord is to be a defender of The Faith . There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Philippians 1:16 

PAUL TO THE CHURCH AT EPHESUS: “Thus each of us believers in Jesus Christ as Lord is to be a defender of The Faith . “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-6

Let us look at what the founders of the English monarchy expected of their King or Queen: One of the Queen’s titles is “DEFENDER OF THE FAITH.” Here are portions from the oath that she took at her coronation:

Archbishop of Canterbury: “Madam, is your Majesty willing to take the Oath?”

Queen Elizabeth II: “I am willing.”
Archbishop of Canterbury: “Will you to your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgements?”

Queen Elizabeth II: “I will.”
Archbishop of Canterbury: “Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel?“

Queen Elizabeth II: “All this I promise to do.”
The Queen then moved from the Coronation chair to the altar of Westminster and, kneeling, with her right hand on a bible, said:
“The things which I have here before promised, I will perform and keep. So help me God.”

You and I owe a great debt to the Godly roots planted centuries ago in England.   From the Venerable Bede to Hugh Latimer’s preaching and ultimate witness burned at the stake, Tyndale, Wesley, Whitefield, Wilberforce, Livingstone, and C.S. Lewis, the deep roots of Christianity have been furthered and spread globally by devoted English Christians. Perhaps, apart from Israel, no other nation has been as foundationally influential. Even to its role in the reestablishment of Israel as a nation with the Balfour Declaration in 1917.

Despite these Godly roots, today in the United Kingdom there is an anti-Christ, anti-Israel, rebellious spirit growing. These Godly roots are threatened. Church attendance continues a decades long decline; Christians are being removed from party tickets, dissuaded from running for office; there are more Muslims than Methodists. 

Thus an event set for Noon, next Friday, December 6, 2019 in London’s Parliament Square could not be more timely. A shofar will be blown before and after a 30-minute silent “Prayer, Repentance Vigil.” Together with prayers from many other UK Christians the event will constitute a statement of repentance for the United Kingdom’s historic abuse towards Israel and a dedication to restore England’s Godly roots. 

This is a critical time as it is being held days prior to the British election.  Recent terror activity in London underscores the urgency of this hour.   You and I are part of the global Bride of Christ. Repentance is a key cleansing agent to present ourselves without spot or wrinkle awaiting the soon-returning Bridegroom.

Howard Barnes, leader of England’s Call2Come ministry leading the repentance vigil declares: “The urgency of our times is for the Bride to get ready.” 

Interceding with our brothers and sisters in the UK today and through next Friday’s event is one step towards getting ready. To intercede and to repent ourselves during that half hour will add to our unity in Christ and that Bridal cleansing process. Given the 17 or more centuries of Christian witness coming from England, planting Godly roots in our nations, it’s also the least we can do.

PRAYERS OF FORMER GAYS AND TRANSGENDERS

Repentance in the Capitol Rotunda

In the Capitol Rotunda former gays and transgenders sang prayers to our Living God! Report from Lifesite News, November 1, 2019: 

An extraordinary event took place beneath the magnificent rotunda of the United States Capitol Wednesday night: Former gay, lesbian, and transgender men and women repented and interceded on behalf the nation for the sins of homosexuality and transgenderism. They were part of a group which came to Washington this week to urge members of Congress to oppose the so-called “Equality Act” and “Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act” that would prevent others from seeking help to escape LGBT lives. 

Moments before their entering the rotunda, NBC had published a story with a headline declaring that the group had come to D.C. “to lobby against LGBTQ rights,” yet that is not their purpose at all. They came to tell their stories of finding healing and fulfilment by rejecting the lies of LGBT ideology and turning to Christ.
“We repent on behalf of our country for the sins of arrogance, for the sins of sexual deviancy, for the sins that have led us to the place where we are today,” one man earnestly prayed as he stood beneath the Capitol dome. We repent for the sin of homosexuality. We repent for our part in it,” prayed another former homosexual. “We ask that you would forgive our nation for this. We ask you to hold back any judgement, and that you would hear our prayers and have mercy on us.””Others joined in offering their heartfelt repentance and intercession.
“Push back the darkness,” prayed a woman who once lived as a lesbian. “You created us male and female. You created us in Your Image. You have created man to find a wife and that is a good thing,” prayed another young woman. “We pray that the truth be revealed to those who have bought into the lies and deception. We pray that you remove the curtain of deception.”  
“I repent for the lies that we have believed as far as who we are,” prayed a woman who had lived as a “man” for many years, but is now restored to her true identity. “Lord, we bought into the lie that you didn’t create us good enough. That we should have been something else.””I ask you to continue to drop the scales from the eyes of those who live in the deception of who they are, and let them see how they are created in your image, and that you do not make mistakes,” she continued. “I ask you to call them out of that lifestyle, call them out of that deception.””They pleaded for those who are bound by deception, held captive by the enemy, to be set free. “Lord, we understand that those who hold other positions are not our enemy. We all have but one enemy.” “And they prayed for a great awakening across our land.  “Their prayer turned to beautiful worship, with their voices echoing throughout the Capitol building: 
I’ll raise a Hallelujah, as Heaven comes to fight for me.
I’ll raise a Hallelujah, because fear has lost its hold on me.  And I’m going to sing in the middle of the storm,
Louder and louder, they’re gonna hear my praises roar.
Up from the ashes, hope will arise,
Death is defeated, the King is alive.Death is defeated, the King is alive.They sang to Jesus:  You have no rival, you have no equal
Now and forever, Our God reigns.
Yours is the Kingdom, Your’s is the glory,
Yours is the Name above all names.What a powerful name it is,

GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS

It’s difficult to overstate how historic it is for a sitting Australian Prime Minister to wear his faith so unapologetically, and humbly bring the nation’s needs before Almighty God. With 21,000 people in attendance, Scott Morrison prayed publicly for Australia at the Hillsong Conference, the biggest annual Christian conference in the nation. Scott Morrison petitioned God to intervene for young people struggling with mental health, veterans, Indigenous Aussies, those with disabilities, and for a break to the drought. URGENT WARNING FOR AMERICAN CHRISTIANS

Francis Chan, Ravi Zacharias Issue Urgent Warning to American Christians

“There is something about the American culture that can soften us. What can we do about it?” pastor and author Francis Chan asked during a recent question-and-answer discussion with apologist Ravi Zacharias.

While Christians around the globe face the worst persecution in modern history, American Christians often choose distraction over spending time with the Lord.

“Does that mean we just resolve and say, ‘Well, I live in America. We can only go so far in our walk with the Lord ’cause we’re not persecuted’? Absolutely not. But there are things we need to do just even in our own prayer lives, when Scripture says to be sober-minded and self-controlled for the sake of your prayers,” Chan said.

“That thought of being clear-minded rather than filling your mind with mindless texts and Facebook posts and videos and movies so where, when it’s time to pray, our mind is going everywhere and we lose touch with reality. And that’s the problem. That’s what keeps us from some of this depth and this time with the Lord. I see it. I feel it slipping away.”

POWER OF PRAYER & FASTING

Every pastor needs to see this video. Four cities where Satan had control of its citizens, sin and lawlessness abounded. In every case, it took one or two, usually pastors coming into the city who realised that they could do nothing to change the situation and that unless God turned up nothing would change. Desperate prayer and fasting followed. God made His presence known and with faith and persistence transformation took place. In many cases at great cost, even martyrdom, but God was responsible for the transformation and He certainly gets the glory. You will be blessed and hopefully challenged by this God inspired video.

WHAT ON EARTH ARE WE HERE FOR?
