Humanity’s greatest desire, a greater desire than wealth, fame, true love or sexual gratification, is IMMORTALITY.
From the ancient epic of Gilgamesh to Ponce De Leon’s obsessive search for the fountain of youth to our modern-day compulsion to remain youthful-looking as long as possible, humanity is obsessed with the idea of immortality, the idea of living forever. Yet most refuse to turn to God for this gift. Yet this immortality is exactly what the gospel offers.
Paul in 2 Timothy 1:10: “but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel…”
Paul again in Romans 2:7 “(Jesus) will render to each one according to his deeds: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honour, and immortality…”
Jesus in John 6:51: “I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
The caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. The only reason is not sound science, it is because “they” claim science can only deal with the natural not supernatural and intelligent design requires a designer who is outside of his creation. Francis Chan talks on the wrath of God and judgement and what it reveals about God and His ways.
The world and even Christians don’t like to read the following verses of Scripture, but Francis recognises we are in the “last days” when God will pour out His wrath on an unrepentant world. He is called by God to deliver this word of coming judgement regardless of the cost just as the O.T. prophets were called to deliver words of coming judgement to Israel and Judah.
“The Lord avenges and is furious. The Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries, And He reserves wrath for His enemies; The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, And will not at all acquit the wicked.” Nahum 1:2-3
“But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are storing up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgement of God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds” Romans 2:5-6

The major tragedy is that those living without God will miss out on eternal life with God on a new earth, without pain, suffering and death.
God has revealed to us in His Word what they face after death: resurrection and a day of judgement when “there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 8:12, 22:13, 24:51, 25:30; Luke 13:28). Should we not begin weeping at the very prospect?
ALL of us who know God and His goodness towards us in Jesus need to be reminded constantly of Jesus command:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:10
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptised will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:15
What Luke said to the disciples before He ascended to heaven needs a response from all believers. We have all received the Holy Spirit to guide and direct our steps, to be our counsellor, teacher and comforter just as the disciples received Him at Pentecost.
“These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
Also Paul in Acts gives us the same message:
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1: 8 Jesus then Ascends to Heaven “Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Act 1:9-11
There are more prophecies in the Bible about Jesus second coming than there were about His first coming over 2000 years ago now. These “end times” prophecies reveal that both the signs Jesus gave to His disciples to watch out for prior to His return, and our Heavenly Father revealed thru the Prophets of Jesus coming to rule and reign on earth, are now happening. The big sign was the reestablishment of Israel as a nation in 1948.
In 1863 President Lincoln implemented three days of humiliation, fasting and prayer with this declaration: “It is the duty of nations as well as men to own their own dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon, and to recognise the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history: that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.”
God does bring calamities and disasters such as firestorms, earthquakes and tornadoes for His purposes. It is invariably to make people realise they are not in control of circumstances in the world He created and maintains. Importantly, it is also to to get His own people to pray. Moreover, God tells us in advance in His Word that in the “last days” before Jesus returns that these disasters will increase in frequency. Just one of many signs, God has given us, to show we are in the last days before Jesus returns to rule and reign from Jerusalem.
“When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:13-14
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” Luke 21:25-26
“See that you do not refuse Him (GOD) who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him (JESUS) who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.”Hebrews 12:25-28

Soleimani’s killing has escalated the crisis between Tehran and Washington after months of back-and-forth attacks and threats that have put the wider Middle East on edge.
For the first time ever, a blood-red flag is being flown over the famous Jamkaran Mosque in the Iranian “holy city” of Qom. The fact that this mosque is directly associated with the Mahdi makes this symbolic gesture doubly significant. Red flags in Shiite tradition symbolise both blood spilled unjustly and serve as a call to avenge a person who is slain. It is the first time in history that the red flag has been hoisted on top of the Jamkaran mosque in the Iranian city and comes after warnings of harsh retaliation against the US. Red flags have also been spotted flying at anti-U.S. demonstrations in Tehran over the past few days. Clearly, the Iranians want blood. They will never, ever forgive the killing of Qassem Soleimani, and their faith requires that he be avenged.
Rabbi Pinchas Winston, a prolific end-of-times author, commented, “All the conditions exist for a no-holds-barred multinational conflict in the Middle East, precisely the type of conflict described by the prophets as preceding the Messiah,” Rabbi Winston said. “You can be sure that Iran is sharpening their swords right now. For peace to exist, both sides have to be afraid of war. You don’t have that here. Iran wants a war to bring a great fiery war to bring Mahdi and to get rid of the ‘Great Satan.’”
There is the scoreboard that cannot be contested, the disproportionately high number of Nobel Prizes Jews have won, and the incontrovertible fact that, despite their tiny numbers, Jews have risen to the top of just about every conceivable field of endeavour except those from which they were excluded. Jews have won more than 20 percent of all Nobel Prizes that have been awarded.
As New York Times columnist Bret Stephens noted, we inevitably are confronted with the following question: “How is it that a people who never amounted even to one-third of 1 percent of the world’s population contributed so seminally to so many of its most path breaking ideas and innovations?” God provides the answer.

But as Stephens soon discovered, in today’s “woke” world in which any discussion about the achievements of any group, but especially the Jews, is forbidden, to even ask such a question is to call down upon oneself an avalanche of abuse.
Rather than calling out as racists those who recognise the reality of a certain genius that Jewish civilisation has produced, it is those who find this notion insufferable who should be asked what it is about the reality of Jewish success that makes them so angry.

Sanity prevails, the American College of Paediatricians issued a statement condemning gender reclassification in children by stating that transgenderism in children amounts to child abuse.
“The American College of Paediatricians urges educators and legislators to reject all policies that condition children to accept as normal a life of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex. Facts – not ideology – determine reality.”
The policy statement, authored by Johns Hopkins Medical School Psychology Professor Paul McHugh, listed eight arguments on why gender reclassification is harmful.
The idea that one’s sex is a feeling, not a fact, has permeated our culture and is leaving casualties in its wake. Gender dysphoria should be treated with psychotherapy, not surgery. The meme—that your sex is a feeling, not a biological fact, and can change at any time—marches on through our society. Many onlookers to the contemporary transgender parade, knowing that a disfavoured opinion is worse than bad taste today, similarly fear to identify it as a misapprehension.
1. Human sexuality is an objective biological binary trait: “XY” and “XX” are genetic markers of health – not genetic markers of a disorder.
2. No one is born with a gender. Everyone is born with a biological sex. Gender (an awareness and sense of oneself as male or female) is a sociological and psychological concept; not an objective biological one.
3. A person’s belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking. When an otherwise healthy biological boy believes he is a girl, or an otherwise healthy biological girl believes she is a boy, an objective psychological problem exists that lies in the mind not the body, and it should be treated as such.
4. Puberty is not a disease and puberty-blocking hormones can be dangerous. Reversible or not, puberty-blocking hormones induce a state of disease – the absence of puberty – and inhibit growth and fertility in a previously biologically healthy child.
5. According to the DSM-V, as many as 98% of gender confused boys and 88% of gender confused girls eventually accept their biological sex after naturally passing through puberty.
6. Children who use puberty blockers to impersonate the opposite sex will require cross-sex hormones in late adolescence. Cross-sex hormones (testosterone and estrogen) are associated with dangerous health risks including but not limited to high blood pressure, blood clots, stroke and cancer.
7. Rates of suicide are twenty times greater among adults who use cross-sex hormones and undergo sex reassignment surgery, even in Sweden which is among the most LGBQT – affirming countries.
